Test Drive Meme 013

Welcome to our Test Drive Meme! Here is the place to see how your character might fit the setting, grab some samples and start having fun!

1. Post with your character. I’ve written out some prompts but feel free to make up your own, you have a whole train to play with!

2. Assume they have been around long enough for threads to jump right into the action!

3. Have much fun!

Happy testing!

Training Gym

Fight club have finally gotten a gym to train in. Train carriages make strange gyms, long narrow spaces. But this has mats, balance beams, climbing apparatus. Pads and training dummies for punching. It also has large blocks that look a little like what you might find in a children's play centre but can be used to make obstacle courses or provide cover in training exercises.

Set up a course, practice fighting or try and learn how to throw a punch! There are plenty who will help, people who take training super seriously and let's face it, people who want to ambush others from behind oversized foam blocks.

Games

For those for whom fighting is not an idea of fun, or those wanting more relaxation, the games carriage has a whole collection of different games. Board games, card games, dice games. There are many games about trains but they aren't the only type.

There are low tables in the carriage to set a game up on and plenty of beanbags and cushions to sit on. Grab a game, grab a friend or a complete stranger and get playing!

Water Maze

The latest mission has taken the voidtreckers to an underwater maze. They have been given wet suits, helmets and breathing apparatus- lightweight boxes that strap to their back, connect to their helmet and filter air from the water. A powerful and dangerous artifact has been stolen and the race is on to get it back before it is used for ill.

Team One

Plenty of monsters and foes have been sent to try and retrieve the item. Giant crabs, strange eels. Even people with fish tails and the ability to breathe underwater. All are dangerous foes and fighting underwater is difficult.

But team one are the vanguard, keeping the monster levels low to allow team two to push on through the maze.

Team Two

Hopefully team one will deal with the monsters, but the odd one might sneak through. Team two's main job is to solve the maze, because the thief is in the centre in order to perform his ritual.

It's a race against time, the maze is made of coral and walls of seaweed that are impossible to cut through. Solving it requires a quick mind and some determined swimming.

Team Three

For those not wishing to brave the water, or those whose skills lie more in helping others. The island where the artefact was stolen from needs help. The temple was ransacked and some of the islanders were injured. Help them fix their homes, put the temple back to rights, tend to the injured.

Cleaning the temple is a big job, but hopefully by the time the artefact has been retrieved it will be able to be restored to it's rightful place.

[ a; fighting ]

[ in the training area is a delicate looking man, which is an impression that lasts but a few seconds as he moves quickly and without hesitation - hitting the punching bag - it is clear he is unused to training in this particular way but his aim is true.

he seems a little too serious, too dedicated in his task - as if his life depends on making sure each blow lands where it is supposed to.

when he finishes his latest routine, he grabs onto the swinging back with one hand and smiles at the nearest person: bright, content and a tad naive. ]

Did I do it correctly? This is not what I am used to while training. [ he vastly prefers his sword and the woods, the tell-tale sound of undead corpses hitting the ground after shuanghua has cut a path. ]

[ b; games ]

[ bean bags were comfortable.

they were also not made for cultivators who had no idea how soft they were and how easy it was to sink into them. please excuse xiao xingchen, he's currently taken residence on a bean bag and sunk down and he's looking - well, stuck.

it probably does not help that he is holding a pack of cards with one hand and flailing with the other while he tries to find a comfortable way of sitting. ]

Ah...

[ c; mission, team one! ]

[ much of this world is different but there is something utterly disorienting about being underwater in this manner. xiao xingchen can hold his own with a sword on land but here, like this? his reflexes feel slugging and the unfamiliar equipment he is wearing - while useful - takes time to get used to.

all he knows is that in his current state, he would do better to remain out of the way for those with more experience and keep an eye out for any stragglers that might make an attempt on those trying to sneak through.

hopefully, it will not end badly. ]

brilliancies: (i dun trust u)

Emi Yusa / Emilia Justina | Devil is a Part-Timer

[personal profile] brilliancies 2020-06-15 05:24 am (UTC)(link)
[ Training Gym ]

Emilia is taking out some of her recent frustrations out on a training dummy. Where did she get the wooden sword? Don't worry about it. But it's clear this girl can REALLY handle that sword, judging by the how the training dummy is holding up-

Wait, no, scratch that. With a loud CRACK, the training dummy is cleft in twain, the top half FLYING off and slamming hard into the opposite wall.

"Cheap train," she complains bitterly, loudly but still mostly to herself. "You bring us all here against our wills and can't even give us better equipment than that?"

[ Water Temple Maze, Team One ]

Is it slightly ridiculous to see a girl in a wet suit in an underwater maze also wielding a holy sword? Possibly a little. But Emi didn't really care? There was a mission, and monsters to kill that she didn't have to feel bad about killing, so she was good to go.

Better Half shone with literal holy energy as she gave it a couple practice swings. It moved through the water like it were air, unimpeded whatsoever. It was a very pretty blade - intricate golden hilt and gleaming silver blade, the kind that screamed 'Holy Sword' to anybody who saw it.

"Let's get started." Tilts helmet towards the closest ally. "What do you think, crabs first, or the eels?"

[ Dining Carriage ]

Alas Ramus was out now with Emi, so the teenaged girl was being accompanied by a toddler with long silver hair and a single purple streak. "Mommy! Food!" the little girl intones with the urgency of a hungry toddler.

"Yeah," Emi sets down a small plate of whatever's on the menu for this month out in front of the girl, and a bigger plate in front of her. "Here, let me cut that up for you..."

Feel free to notice the, uh, literal baby? That is now on the train.

[ Character stuff: Emi, despite the name, is an obviously non-Japanese girl with bright red hair and yellow eyes. To those who can sense such things, she has an INCREDIBLY amount of holy power - she's half-angel and the Hero of her world. When channeling holy power, her hair is silver instead and her eyes red.

The little girl, Alas Ramus, has a large amount of holy and divine energies, and doesn't read as human to anybody who can sense such things. If she's not out, she's kind of stored inside Emi, so if you can sense that, go wild. ]

Veralidaine (Daine) Sarrasri - Tortallan Universe - The Immortals Series.: OTA

[personal profile] wildmagick 2020-06-15 05:31 am (UTC)(link)
Training Gym: The Training Gym was not what she was expecting.

"Are tumblers all there are to train here?" She asked in confusion. It seemed, to her, that this training gym was directed toward those of the tumbling profession. Acrobatics. Certainly not for her.

She looked around, blue-grey eyes hopeful to see something she might use, and finding very little.

"... No archery targets? Well what's the point in all of this then?" She'd mutter to herself, one hand on her hip, irritation plain in her voice.

Games: Looking completely confused with the aray of colourful boxes and around, soft seating, Daine just stood for a moment. She had been told this was an area for fun. She was seeing nothing in the way of fun here.

Slowly she picked her way through, avoiding the strange, round objects in favour of getting to the other side in quick order.

It was the cheerful trill of Kitten that had Daine turning back again to find the dragonet stretching up to peer at the shiny boxes.

"Hush, Kit. Leave alone!" Daine called and hurried over to pull the small dragon back. It was useless. Kitten, excited by the new sights, easily avoided Daine and went to look at other things, leaving the human girl to huff and sigh.

Water Maze - Team One: Daine hated it. The suit clung to her in ways that made her feel uncomfortable. The back on her back was weight and cumbersome. She wanted to change her form. She wanted to be able to fight her way.

"I hate this..." She muttered to herself, the device in her bubble-like helmet would (or so she was told) broadcast her words to others. It was why she was loathe to shapeshift.

And she missed her bow.

Even if she had it, underwater it would be incredibly difficult to use.

What she could do... was send the crabs and eels on their way. While their voices were somewhat alien to her, they were still of the People. They were still recognisably animal. At least the crabs and the eels. The other creatures she could do no more with than she could a normal human.

"Go!" She cried at yet another crab who tried to attack her. It stopped and scurried off. Why was her magic not sticking to these creatures?

Wildcard: [Daine can be found anywhere on the train. She is from a fantasy world where magic takes the place of technology, where they get around on horse back or by wagon and light homes with candles and magic. She will be confused about a great many things about the train, and it's inhabitants. Feel free to educate her!

She will also be found with a small, sky-blue dragon named Kitten!]

-Game room-

Exusiai, a young woman with a halo and, sometimes, wings, was trying to play poker with the group. The only problem was that they reacted to her mood, making her TERRIBLE at bluffing.

Though her face did not betray her emotions to anyone but the most observant of players and she kept her voice steady, her halo lit up more than usual and her wings (a vaguely wing shaped collection of floating triangles of light more than something that could actually help you fly) grew larger and more elaborate as she looked at her hand.

"...Five beans."

She put her bet down in the pot. Fortunately for her, the stakes tonight were jelly beans rather than money.

-Team Three ish-

Exusiai was all gung ho about fighting monsters during the briefing, but now that she was at the entrance to the maze and holding one the helmets, she was running into a problem. The halo. It wouldn't fit in her helmet, and she seemed unable or unwilling to put something between it and her head.

"Er...maybe I'll just stay up here. That's probably fine, right? There's people who need help in the temple. And it's basically holy ground, right?"

a. Training Gym

Baz didn't know how to fight--with his body; with his wand he was brilliant. But he was in mixed company here and while sometimes pulling out his wand was alright, there were also Normals on board. The rules probably didn't matter here, but he'd grown up with them, and he didn't like taking chances with some things.

So, he didn't know how to fight, and his punches were clumsy, carefully controlling his strength so that he didn't knock the training dummy across the car, but he had a lot to work with. He just needed some guidance, someone to teach him how to actually fight. While swinging wildly would probably be effective against non-human combatants, it wouldn't help him too much against someone who actually knew what they were doing.

Speaking of swinging wildly, he made the mistake of letting his frustration get the best of him and one punch took the head off the training dummy, sending it rolling across the floor. Quickly, he looked around to see if anyone had witnessed what he'd done.

b. Books

The selection of books on the train was abysmally small. Adding to that, the books it did have were of almost no interest to him, and he shook his head at least once while looking through them.

"There must be someone to see about getting a proper library," he muttered to himself. His accent was English, a bit on the posh side.

c. Team Three

He hadn't liked the idea of being almost completely defenseless in the water, since spells very well couldn't work when you couldn't speak, so he'd decided to help elsewhere instead. Specifically, cleaning up the temple and fixing homes. He could be found working on either, now and then carefully making sure no one was watching him before murmuring spells under his breath to speed things along. Sometimes they worked, sometimes they didn't; he chalked it up to being far from home and a vast difference in general languages and phrasing.

Still, spotty magickal help was better than none at all, and if it helped repair a home or sweep away debris, he would accept and appreciate it. Maybe eventually he could adjust his magic to work better here, pick up more phrases used around the train. He could only hope to end up on worlds that spoke one of the languages he did.

d. Dining Car

Baz found a quiet corner of the dining car to tuck himself into before starting to eat his meal. Even then, he kept his head down and one hand over his mouth, glancing up now and then. In the future, he decided, it would be easier to eat somewhere else--maybe his room or the quiet carriage. Though it wasn't like he hadn't eaten like this more days than not when he'd been at Watford.

1: Training Gym

[Looking for something to do and feeling the need to practice her JKD skills, Masumi had happened on the training gym in her wanderings of the train. As a result, she had quickly claimed a dummy as her target.

If watched, it's clear that she knows what she's doing as she lays into the dummy, her blows hitting hard enough to make it obvious that the dummy wouldn't last long if it were a real person.

On finishing she steps back, turning to whoever happens to be nearby with a slight grin.]

"You want a turn with the dummy?"

2: Water Maze, Team Two

[Puzzle solving was something she could do underwater. It was a race to stop a thief, and Masumi couldn't help but feel worried that something might go wrong, but she didn't let on to that.

That said, it didn't help when she ran into a dead end filled with coral, forcing her to turn around and return the way she came to try another path.]

3: Wildcard

Gym

He's stuck here. Instead of being on his way to fight Azula with Katara, he's stuck here. But that doesn't mean his forms need to get sloppy. He's working his way through several forms, almost meditating in his concentration. He dislikes this place. Where was this 'void train' when his father, grandfather and great grandfather were wreaking havoc on the world? Where were they when the Avatar disappeared for a hundred years?

He calms himself, his fists smoking. He takes a deep breath. Hearing someone else, he turns to look. "I'm sorry, am I in your way?"

Team one

Fighting underwater is virtually impossible for a firebender. He wishes Katara was here. She would... well, she would kick the butts of everything that came their way. Despite his hunting of the Avatar, he's come to respect and even admire the younger girl.

Luckily, Zuko does not have to rely on his bending to fight. He has his swords, and although they are hindered underwater, he manages to hold his own against the monsters that are coming at them. He almost loses one of his swords fighting a strange looking snake-fish.

games.

Everything feels surreal, he has been feeling as if he has been living in a type of suspended reality since the moment he saw the black marks vanishing from his skin. Nothing has really sunk in yet, there hasn't been time to really wrap his mind around the last 24 hours.

Perhaps he would wake up soon and find himself back at Healen but for now, he was going to make himself comfortable on a cushion. His cane lays beside him as he crosses his legs to set the chess pieces out carefully, each one perfectly put in their proper place.

Veld had taught him to play as a child and he often played with Tseng when they could carve out bits of time to themselves when Rufus was Vice President. It had been a way to pass the time while they talked about a future that had been approaching faster than either of them expected. It had been years since he had played a game and he turns over the white king in his fingers idly. Who would dare to challenge him now?

There is a smile on his lips as he leans over to put the king in his proper place, still standing upright.

train.

Reality slowly sinks in when he wakes up the next morning. His body no feels the deep pain of Geostigma but he still feels as if he had aged more than the two years he had lost to the disease. The swaying of the train doesn't help, he's feeling a bit sick to his stomach since he hasn't eaten in at least a day. Everything is suddenly catching up to him.

There is nothing to be done about it other than pulling himself together and properly explore the train to figure his way around. It's good for him to walk more now, a relief even if he has the cane. He's decided that his strength will return soon enough.

Eventually, he finds something from the kitchen he can just grab and settles in a quiet part of the train to make notes in the journal he had been given. Observations, notes, fleeting thoughts that pass through his mind. If this was real and he was indeed on his own here than he had a lot of work to do.

[TRAINING]

[It would probably be pretty weird if he'd seen better. Truth be told, Katsuya isn't sure he has seen a better training room than this. Yes, it's narrow as hell. Yes, it's also technically a train carriage.

But there's also so. Much. Stuff. For a good long while Katsuya doesn't actually know where to start, simply shouting various exclaimations the more that he finds. After the latest echoing 'holy SHIT!', the tiny rainbow-y pony with him apparently gets her own idea...

...which, after watching and laughing at floating foam cubes for a while, gives the blond his own.
]

Alrigh'! Real careful Kaseri! Just...gotta...get t' th' other side...

[And that, go figure, is why there's a japanese kid floating up near the ceiling, surrounded by weird psychic aura as a pony 'cheers'.

Good thing they put those cubes down below.
]

[WATER - TEAM TWO - A]

[He'd admit it- going down below was something he was just a bit unsure about. He's almost drowned before after all, and while he'd like to think one-time doesn't ruin most things, he's managed to surprise himself with how much it might have actually ruined it.

Which is a shame, because swimming with friends is great and he was kind of wondering if they'd ever wind up with a pool car. That'd be awesome.

But this isn't a pool and it's not a train and with a grimace he's setting up and going underwater.

The upset lasts for about ten or so minutes before the sheer power of being able to breathe down there overcomes it.
]

Man... th's awesome..! [he cheers, swimming up ahead regardless of anyone's warnings about direction. There's a pause- he seems to freeze briefly in place, and anyone looking back at him might even see his eyes grow blank.

At least for half a second, before he blinks and points toward a fork in the maze.
] Oi, we oughta go that way I figure!

[It's just a hunch. Yeah.]

[WATER - TEAM TWO - B]

[Good news! He was right about the maze. It's not cheating if you get visions of good ideas.

Bad news. He was not given a heads up on this. It's especially not cheating when the good idea has consequences.
] Heheheeee...

[Swimming along, Katsuya has no idea what he's about to encounter with the others.] We keep th's up, tha' thief isn' gonna know what hit 'm! We just gotta-

RrRRRROoorRRRRMMNNN...

[A very odd sound echoes through the water- more of a rumble than anything else.

The large toothy eel coming with it is the worse part.

1.) games
It's actually kind of nice, the idea of playing a game with another person (or even multiple people! Imagine the possibilities!). For a long time, the idea hadn't even occurred to Mirele. Not out of any fault of the games, but more because when one is living completely alone with only the bare minimum of human contact for a few centuries, it is generally out of the realm of possibility that one will have people with whom to play the kind of games that are most likely for two or more people.

However, because there are definitely more people than just himself on this train, that is no longer an issue.

Hypothetically.

Because what actually is happening is that he picked up the Bananagrams pouch without realizing it was unzipped and now there are letter tiles all over the floor. Which he is picking up, of course, because it would be rude to just leave them, but also it means if someone is going to this cabinet, Mirele is probably in their way, trying to reach between two of the shelves to retrieve a wayward H.

2.) dining carriage
Pretty late at night, the dining carriage is almost empty. Almost being the operative word, because there is actually someone in here! To an observant person, which in this case means anyone with working eyes, it's pretty clear that someone has been in here reading. This is due to the open book on the table of the lower floor.

Nearby, Mirele is puzzling over the tea options, in front of a mug of hot water that is slowly cooling to room temperature. Join the late night crew/explain what "Constant Comment" is in the context of tea flavors/sneak up on him just to be a jerk (maybe don't like, do the last one, but it's really up to you)?

3.) water maze - team three
Not wishing to brave the water is one way of putting it. Literally never learned how to swim is the more accurate way of putting it, though. For someone who grew up on an island and spent the next nearly-300 years living by the sea, one might expect some swimming capability. One would be wrong. It's not necessarily a sore point, but in this case, it does make Mirele feel a bit...useless.

Sure, there's work to be done here, and he's doing it-- broom in hand, not quite as helpful as a weapon might be-- but it's hard not to think about everyone else and worry a little bit. "Do you really think they're alright down there?" he'll ask one of the other temple cleaners, for what is probably the fourth time that hour.

4.) wildcard!

Pyraxian / World of Warcraft OC / OTA

[personal profile] pyraxian 2020-06-15 06:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Games

Pyraxian is a little grateful to have a humanoid form, even if it's still fairly large by train standards. He'd never fit otherwise! And never be able to work out what ... all of this is.

Outland doesn't have a lot of game options that don't involve running and screaming, and what anyone's supposed to do with these little white cubes with black dots is absolutely eluding him at the moment. Crouched on the floor in the games car, the dragon-in-humanish-shape has collected around himself a small number of games he doesn't recognize, from a deck of cards, to some dice, to a boardgame and a whole lot of dominos that have somehow mysteriously escaped their packaging and gotten all scattered about. In spite of his size even in this form, well over seven feet and rather well muscled, it's a rather ridiculous look as he sits on his heels and prods uncertainly at said dominos.

"This doesn't look very fun to me," he rumbles. "What are you supposed to do with them? Eat them? Throw them at someone?"

Team Three

That sure is an enormous scaly black dragon helping people fix their homes.

Helping. Yes.

"Put that down!"

Ignore the panicked yelling going on. It's surely nothing.

Or maybe said enormous dragon is actively chasing people away from the stacks of lumber and logs meant for rebuilding homes, crouched over them as if they're precious gems and not ... well. Wood and logs. "I!! Will move these! You're all TINY. Tiny and small and ..." .... "Short! I am NOT."

He - and it's certainly a male dragon by the sound of his voice - preens a bit at this delcaration of his lack of shortness, then grabs the entire stack of lumber in his massive jaws, heaving it right off the ground. It crunches a bit, and the faint scent of charring begins almost immediately. With his prize now claimed, it's on to being 'helpful' in other ways! Homes need rebuilding!

[OOC notes: Pyraxian is an Outland-hatched black dragon! He's also not the sharpest knife in the drawer, and due to a lack of old gods in Outland, still has his free will.]

Naminé 💙 Kingdom Hearts (A Return!)

[personal profile] really_sketchy 2020-06-15 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Training Gym - Balance Beam.

[Naminé isn't strong but she's agile and light on her feet, and its exciting to have a piece of training equipment where those traits are more useful than strength or any skill with a weapon. It's something she's never done before but she decides to give it a try.

It's absolutely amazing.

A bright smile is cemented to her lips as she walks across the balance beam and even dares to do a cartwheel! And she doesn't fall off!]

This is amazing!

[She giggles and tries again though this time she falls onto the mats lining the floor instead of landing on her feet. Naminé will be a little bruised but she's fine.]

Owch...

[Time to try again.]

Water Maze - Team 3.

This way. [Naminé holds out her hand with a warm smile.] We have a place for people to rest and tents with healers and supplies.

[She's doing a lot of running around, helping as many people as she can, but she's primarily helping with those who have gotten injured. The train always seems to have them doing something dangerous and while Naminé has joined in dangerous missions in the past, she feels as if she is better suited helping where she can. Even if it separates her from her friends.

Luckily, she has a lot of distractions and she can't only focus on how worried she is about those who are in the water maze.]

Wild Card

Satou Kuroneko | Original Character (crau)

[personal profile] stubbornhope 2020-06-16 11:29 am (UTC)(link)
(a) Fight Practice
[Magic isn't all Satou expects of herself. She needs to know how to fight without it too. So on that day, she had made plans to meet with other train passengers and learn some new techniques. The magical girl is just finishing her stretches when she sees a familiar face approaching.]

Ah! You made it! [Giggling energetically, Satou walks up to her friend.] I'm all~llll ready to learn!

(b) Games
[Satou is not a child. She repeats that to herself over and over, as if the mental repetition will make it true. As a Guardian in Genessia and a Magical Girl back home, she has no time anymore for things like games. Instead, she would normally busy herself with training, with paperwork, with survival--

But the train has her spoiled. There's a gap in her self-set schedule and a whole carriage full of board games. Under the guise of organizing them, Satou begins sorting through the various board games. Her mind wanders, imagining how much fun it would have been to play some of these games with her previous 'family.' Being with them was the one time in her life when she felt safe as a 'child.'
Up until that lively and noisy household became empty and silent. She can't be a child, she reminds herself. Because she will never have a home to feel safe in, she must always be her own mature provider and protector.

She stares down at the game that she's holding. When someone approaches, Satou abruptly notices them due to her empathy. Surprised, she throws the box in the air and empties all of the box's contents on the ground.]

Oh-- Fiddlehecks! I'm so sorry! Please, I'll pick it up! It's my fault, sorry!

(c) Team One
[With no doubt, Satou has magically turned her wet suit to a hot pink shade. She holds her wand in a tight grip, eyes attentive to the situation. Not yet in the water, but about to leap in with the team. Used to being a leader, she accidentally tosses out some bossy orders.]

Are you better at close or ranged combat? I can do both, but I need to know where you'll be first.

A; Gym

[Of course Zell would find his way to the gym. Any chance to move his body and train a little bit and he'd take it.

He starts with obstacle courses first. Practicing his agility and balance is always a good start. Then he moves to find people he can fight with.]

Hey! I'm Zell. Want to spar?

[Manners and such, you know. He's grinning very eagerly though.]

B; Team One

[Fighting underwater isn't something he's done before, but he volunteers regardless because fighting is what he does well. It's rough - but he's fighting as well as he can.

He punches a few of the eels, but a fishtail person attempts to take his helmet off next and he flails, trying to hit it. ]

Team Three
There's a girl crouched on the sand next to the water.

Just squatting there at the water's edge, arms crossed as she leans on her knees. The waves wash in close to her toes.

She's been there for a good twenty minutes.

Sulking?

Possibly.

Games
The girl perched on the floor is obviously blind. Her eyes don't focus on anything as she feels for what games are available, her short, rough fingers gliding over board games, card games . . .

Ah, dice. These seem to be at least a little familiar; she cups them in her hand, rattling them on her palm.

"Want to play?" she offers the nearest person. "At least I know this one."

She's blind. It won't be much of a challenge, right?

Lone Power | Young Wizards (This is Nita mun; I know I can't app Them, but have Them anyway.)

Water Maze - Team One

Monsters. Normally, They would be commanding them, or watching gleefully as they pestered other beings.

The circumstances are quite different here, unfortunately, but They can amuse Themselves making these undersea beasts' lives that much more troubled.

/On your right,/ They state calmly, launching a bolt of pure darkness at an approaching mutated shark before it can overwhelm one of Their so-called team members.

Wildcard One - Staredown

When this one isn't complaining, or making Their own way in avoiding the more nauseatingly heroic types on the train, They can be found at the end of the Stores Carriage, seemingly trying to bore a hole into the engine wall with Their glaring.

Go ahead, try and provoke Them. See what's on Their mind.

Wildcard Two - Cinema

Pick a show, any show. They will try Their hardest to be the worst critic. All the more so if it's a genuinely good piece of media.

They also take pleasure in issuing spoilers - or making them up, rather.

Today's target appears to be one specific void train and her rabbit friend.

/Isn't this the episode where they're made to betray each other? Or is that next season...?/

They make a show of holding their chin in one hand, humming pleasantly.

Gym

[In this slice of the gym, there's a man who might look to be familiar to some. He'd like to make use of the more fight-oriented areas to actually practice fighting, but narrow spaces and sharp pointies don't go well together. So he's very slowly and carefully trying to make his way across a balance beam, attempting to walk across in one try.

It's not going so well. Feel free to help/laugh at him.]

Game room

Man, I miss card games.

[This might be a strange thing to say while one is holding a deck of cards in one's hand. It might be even stranger that the one holding the cards keeps holding up a card periodically and running a finger across the front of it.]

Would be nice if these had raised numbers or...sang or something.

Around the train

[This train is so weird. It's smaller than any of the ships he'd ever been on it the Fleet--or so it seems--but a lot longer. So far, he's counted at least 8 cars and way more people than he ever felt like being around ever.

Including whoever he's just bumped into.]

Sorry 'bout that.

Squall Leonhart - Final Fantasy 8 - OU/OTA

[personal profile] imalion 2020-06-20 07:03 am (UTC)(link)
Training Gym: While he might not have his gunblade, that didn't mean he could let his training slide.

There were dummies and there were pretend swords. It wasn't good enough but it would do.

Squall picked one of the wooden 'kiddie' swords up and looked it over, heaving an inward sigh. "Right..."

He stepped up to the dummy and took a practice swing. The sword was too light. It felt like it would break if he swung too hard. The teen frowned, shrugged and went for it again. He had to start somewhere, right?

Water Maze - Team One: Again, no gunblade. One of these days he would find a way to get one. But at least the sword in his hands was one that was heavier than the small, wooden swords back on the train.

It meant that when he sliced through the water to attack a swimming crab it struck it's mark and the things shell shattered.

It was hard fighting underwater. The resistance made him feel like his attacks were slower, it exhausted him faster, which meant they would need to finish this quicker.

"Come on, come on..." He muttered under his breath, not realising anyone was close by to hear, as he watched a group of four huge crabs approaching.

Wildcard: Standard, dining or his room. These are the places you might find him if you were interested in finding him.

Though there is a small chance that curiosity could get him to visit the cinema and see what that's all about!

So feel free to find him in these places, maybe sitting and brooding, maybe eating something in the dining room or lurking uncertainly.

Gerome - Fire Emblem Awakening - OTA

[personal profile] wyvernmaster 2020-06-22 03:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Training Gym: As far as training rooms went, this one was lacking.

Gerome looked around with narrowed eyes, taking in each piece of equipment and dismissing them with an internal sigh. It looked, to him, like toys for children. Though he did see some practice dummies that looked somewhat interesting. Just not a weapon, or a practice weapon, in sight.

"Just what are they training here...?"

Games: He wasn't sure why he was in this room. The myriad of colours are what stopped him in his tracks. Gerome had never seen so many games in his life.

Without quite realising he was doing it, he moved toward a strange game already set up... With oddly coloured creatures pinned to it's sides.

Curiously he reached down and lightly tapped the lever behind one of the creatures. And jumped as the things head shot out with a clatter. "... What the...?!"

Dining Room: Soup. Simple and hearty. A plate at it's side with two slices of bread. A small glass on the other side with an oddly coloured, but not unpleasant flavoured juice.

There was a small, content smile upon Gerome's lips as he looked over his meal.

It was a nice, quiet moment he would enjoy.

If it remained nice and quiet, of course.

Standard Carriage: There were books here. Gerome crouched before the book shelves picking up one, reading the back before replacing it in exactly the same place before reaching for another.

He wasn't terribly sure what he was looking for. Reading wasn't something he had always been fond of.

But they were there, and he was curious.

It didn't hurt to look, right?

Ardyn | FFXV + airlocked CRAU

[personal profile] burninglight 2020-06-24 06:02 am (UTC)(link)
[a; gaming room]

[The clearly bored man with violet hair might have been unfamiliar to most (except, of course, Nari) on first glance...though his clothes and appearance had changed radically, the particular shade and state of 'artfully disheveled' was a telltale signature of a certain healer-turned-monster from a distant star ruled by a tyrannical dragon deity.]

[However, the one who brought down the endless night and the man idly shuffling cards with scarred hands couldn't have been more different in demeanor at this point. Ardyn sighed heavily, deck of cards shuffled from one hand to the other with remarkable dexterity before being set aside as he slouched in his chair. This, in a word, sucked. The others were going to kill him for disappearing, once he got back. If there wasn't some odd inter-universe discrepancy going on, they'd be worried sick.]

[Kind of as worried as Ardyn himself was consciously trying not to be. What a disaster this was.]

[b; team three]

[Sure, he was more combat-focused. And sure, he'd be better served throwing swords around underwater. But honestly, when it came to the situation at hand, it was the injured that concerned him far more.]

Here- [He handed an islander a small green bottle--perhaps glowing very faintly--and closed their hand around it tightly. It shattered and dissolved into faint verdant particles of light, the resident's wounds beginning to close up. While she offered him clear heartfelt thanks, Ardyn simply answered with an uneasy laugh and straightened back up, seeming to check his pockets for something.]

Damn, was that my last one...? [Muttering that, he turned to the nearest person:]
Pardon me, would you happen to have a bottle of water you're willing to part with? Any drink would work, really.
