Welcome to our Test Drive Meme! Here is the place to see how your character might fit the setting, grab some samples and start having fun!

1. Post with your character. I’ve written out some prompts but feel free to make up your own, you have a whole train to play with!

Training Gym

Fight club have finally gotten a gym to train in. Train carriages make strange gyms, long narrow spaces. But this has mats, balance beams, climbing apparatus. Pads and training dummies for punching. It also has large blocks that look a little like what you might find in a children's play centre but can be used to make obstacle courses or provide cover in training exercises.

Set up a course, practice fighting or try and learn how to throw a punch! There are plenty who will help, people who take training super seriously and let's face it, people who want to ambush others from behind oversized foam blocks.

Games

For those for whom fighting is not an idea of fun, or those wanting more relaxation, the games carriage has a whole collection of different games. Board games, card games, dice games. There are many games about trains but they aren't the only type.

There are low tables in the carriage to set a game up on and plenty of beanbags and cushions to sit on. Grab a game, grab a friend or a complete stranger and get playing!

Water Maze

The latest mission has taken the voidtreckers to an underwater maze. They have been given wet suits, helmets and breathing apparatus- lightweight boxes that strap to their back, connect to their helmet and filter air from the water. A powerful and dangerous artifact has been stolen and the race is on to get it back before it is used for ill.

Team One

Plenty of monsters and foes have been sent to try and retrieve the item. Giant crabs, strange eels. Even people with fish tails and the ability to breathe underwater. All are dangerous foes and fighting underwater is difficult.

But team one are the vanguard, keeping the monster levels low to allow team two to push on through the maze.

Team Two

Hopefully team one will deal with the monsters, but the odd one might sneak through. Team two's main job is to solve the maze, because the thief is in the centre in order to perform his ritual.

It's a race against time, the maze is made of coral and walls of seaweed that are impossible to cut through. Solving it requires a quick mind and some determined swimming.

Team Three

For those not wishing to brave the water, or those whose skills lie more in helping others. The island where the artefact was stolen from needs help. The temple was ransacked and some of the islanders were injured. Help them fix their homes, put the temple back to rights, tend to the injured.

Cleaning the temple is a big job, but hopefully by the time the artefact has been retrieved it will be able to be restored to it's rightful place.

Try pressing one of the buttons around furniture. I've see a game hide a potion in a vase before. [ They've got this!! ]

Some guy said they brought a card game from their world here! Somethin' like...'Duel Monsters'? And another guy taught me how to play House of Cards, but that's less playing and more buildin', [ he says with a scoff. ]

But you need anything to pass the time here. You start missing the outdoors quick!

[Yup, there's a hidden potion in a pot in the corner of the room. He also finds another just by examining the bed.] You wanna play for a bit so I watch you? Maybe that'll help.

Building cards? I'll have to look at that one. [Color him curious nonetheless] Duel Monsters? Know the guy who brought that here?

... Do they let you guys off once in a while? [He is missing the outdoors.]

Alright, sure. [ He'll hold out a hand to take it. ] It's not really that complicated once you get used to it. After you've played one video game, you get a feel for most of 'em.

[ But, cards- ] Hmm, I think the name's on the case they're in? I'll have a look for them later. I remember his face better than his name.

[ Sorry, Yugi. Nevertheless, there's a light huff before Tidus continues. ]

And yeah, about...once a month, I think it goes? You've heard about the missions, right?

[He hands over the 3DS to Tidus] We'll see how much I can pick you from you. I'm not gonna get addicted to this, am I? [It'll be a nice distraction sure, but not if he forgets to look up once in a while.]

[Poor Yugi] Guess I'll have to check those later.

I've heard of missions, but what do you guys usually do?

[ Haha ] That's up to you, not me!

I've been on one mission so far, but the idea I got is... Orange Team usually fix or figure things out, Red Team go for the big fights, and Blue and Purple are a mix of fighting and defending.

The mission I went on, [ and he's playing the game while he speaks, moving out of the room into a large main hall. Chatting with the NPCs and poking around before heading towards the very obvious progression of a carpeted floor leading to double doors, ] I was with Blue. We had to protect an island of villagers from oversized seafood attacking them every night. It was a pain! But we got through it.

[ He glances at Zidane, before finally heading through those double doors into a king's chamber room. ]

Sound like the kind of thing you get get up to in your world?

[He chuckles slightly at that.] Fair enough.

[He peers over Tidus' shoulder to keep watching and listening.] We're on the same team, think I'm blue. Oversized seafood? What did those look like?

We weren't split into teams, but I did have a group of eight with me. We were a team together that way.

[the king comes into view on the 3DS screen] If I'm following this right, you're supposed to talk to the king now?

Giant crabs, squids, something with a shark's head and sharp claws. I think all the teams had to deal with the crabs from the sound of it. And there was some weird sand monster that came outta the ocean on Blue Team! But I'm really part of that team, [ he'll admit. ] I just went with 'em 'cause I figured an island of villagers needed more people than a bunch of priests, you know?

[ He team hopped! ]

Same here! Though, there were about... six of us in all. Well, that was forever ago now. --And yup, I think this is how you progress the game. [ And as he says that, the music turns orchestral as the king speaks about princesses and curses and evil wizards. ] I've seen movies with kings in them. They're always about saving a princess.

[ Heh. Who actually gets involved with princesses, right?? ]

Did you get into trouble for doing that?

Been less than a year for me. [Oops, people think he's dead, not that he'll admit that] Was on my way home when I got here instead.

[And he just watches the cutscene unfold in the game.] Save a princess huh? [with that he goes a little quiet, think back to his own. She's not a princess now, but a queen

Yeah, really, who snatches a princess and falls in love with her? Who does that?]

Nope! Even got points out of it. [ Which isn't what he did it for, and he shrugs. ] If I would've gotten more for being with my own team, I dunno, but I don't really care. But you can go with whoever -- but, Blue Team usually needs the people.

[ So he hears, and so it turned out on that mission. ]

You got separated from them? What happened?

[Zidane leans back in the bean bag again, attention off the game for the moment.] What do points get you? So you're not stuck with the team they give you. [He files that away for later.]

We beat the big bad. [A slight shrug] To make a long story short, I stayed behind to try to save my brother. He passed a few weeks later. Everyone else went on the airship and went home though.

[He gives Tidus an encouraging look] What about you?

Points you use to buy stuff with. Things from your world, foods, books. There's not much on the shop, but it's a change if you're looking for something new. [ Hah. ] I heard the clothes they let you buy's a gamble on if they're any good.

[ Tidus will keep playing it with half an eye, though there isn't much of interest happening yet than getting out of the castle. Even without being distracted by their conversation.

But he does stop completely when the part about the guy's brother comes up, a grim drawn line of his mouth left. ]

Sorry about your brother. [ He can at least offer some condolences before moving on. ] We fought a big bad too, I guess you could say. Defeated it! And then I ended up here. [ He shrugs, hands gesturing to the car they're in, one still holding the game device as he does. ]

It's been nearly a month now. It's not where I thought I'd be, but... [ Well. ] It could be worse.

[ Said with some slight humour. ]

You've gotten anything from your world?

[He does peek back over at the 3DS to see the progress and gives a small shrug at Tidus' comment] He was the big bad, it's a complicated story. In short, he wrecked havoc on Gaia, but in the end, he saved my team.

Worse? How? [he glaces down at the game screen again] Think you're supposed to move?
