Welcome to our Test Drive Meme! Here is the place to see how your character might fit the setting, grab some samples and start having fun!

1. Post with your character. I’ve written out some prompts but feel free to make up your own, you have a whole train to play with!

2. Assume they have been around long enough for threads to jump right into the action!

Training Gym

Fight club have finally gotten a gym to train in. Train carriages make strange gyms, long narrow spaces. But this has mats, balance beams, climbing apparatus. Pads and training dummies for punching. It also has large blocks that look a little like what you might find in a children's play centre but can be used to make obstacle courses or provide cover in training exercises.

Set up a course, practice fighting or try and learn how to throw a punch! There are plenty who will help, people who take training super seriously and let's face it, people who want to ambush others from behind oversized foam blocks.

Games

For those for whom fighting is not an idea of fun, or those wanting more relaxation, the games carriage has a whole collection of different games. Board games, card games, dice games. There are many games about trains but they aren't the only type.

There are low tables in the carriage to set a game up on and plenty of beanbags and cushions to sit on. Grab a game, grab a friend or a complete stranger and get playing!

Water Maze

The latest mission has taken the voidtreckers to an underwater maze. They have been given wet suits, helmets and breathing apparatus- lightweight boxes that strap to their back, connect to their helmet and filter air from the water. A powerful and dangerous artifact has been stolen and the race is on to get it back before it is used for ill.

Team One

Plenty of monsters and foes have been sent to try and retrieve the item. Giant crabs, strange eels. Even people with fish tails and the ability to breathe underwater. All are dangerous foes and fighting underwater is difficult.

But team one are the vanguard, keeping the monster levels low to allow team two to push on through the maze.

Team Two

Hopefully team one will deal with the monsters, but the odd one might sneak through. Team two's main job is to solve the maze, because the thief is in the centre in order to perform his ritual.

It's a race against time, the maze is made of coral and walls of seaweed that are impossible to cut through. Solving it requires a quick mind and some determined swimming.

Team Three

For those not wishing to brave the water, or those whose skills lie more in helping others. The island where the artefact was stolen from needs help. The temple was ransacked and some of the islanders were injured. Help them fix their homes, put the temple back to rights, tend to the injured.

Cleaning the temple is a big job, but hopefully by the time the artefact has been retrieved it will be able to be restored to it's rightful place.

[TRAINING]

[It would probably be pretty weird if he'd seen better. Truth be told, Katsuya isn't sure he has seen a better training room than this. Yes, it's narrow as hell. Yes, it's also technically a train carriage.

But there's also so. Much. Stuff. For a good long while Katsuya doesn't actually know where to start, simply shouting various exclaimations the more that he finds. After the latest echoing 'holy SHIT!', the tiny rainbow-y pony with him apparently gets her own idea...

...which, after watching and laughing at floating foam cubes for a while, gives the blond his own.]

Alrigh'! Real careful Kaseri! Just...gotta...get t' th' other side...

[And that, go figure, is why there's a japanese kid floating up near the ceiling, surrounded by weird psychic aura as a pony 'cheers'.

Good thing they put those cubes down below.]

[WATER - TEAM TWO - A]

[He'd admit it- going down below was something he was just a bit unsure about. He's almost drowned before after all, and while he'd like to think one-time doesn't ruin most things, he's managed to surprise himself with how much it might have actually ruined it.

Which is a shame, because swimming with friends is great and he was kind of wondering if they'd ever wind up with a pool car. That'd be awesome.

But this isn't a pool and it's not a train and with a grimace he's setting up and going underwater.

The upset lasts for about ten or so minutes before the sheer power of being able to breathe down there overcomes it.]

Man... th's awesome..! [he cheers, swimming up ahead regardless of anyone's warnings about direction. There's a pause- he seems to freeze briefly in place, and anyone looking back at him might even see his eyes grow blank.

At least for half a second, before he blinks and points toward a fork in the maze.] Oi, we oughta go that way I figure!

[It's just a hunch. Yeah.]

[WATER - TEAM TWO - B]

[Good news! He was right about the maze. It's not cheating if you get visions of good ideas.

Bad news. He was not given a heads up on this. It's especially not cheating when the good idea has consequences.] Heheheeee...

[Swimming along, Katsuya has no idea what he's about to encounter with the others.] We keep th's up, tha' thief isn' gonna know what hit 'm! We just gotta-

RrRRRROoorRRRRMMNNN...

[A very odd sound echoes through the water- more of a rumble than anything else.

The large toothy eel coming with it is the worse part.]

Nyyhhhhh...

[ah, shit]

[WILDCARD - Got ideas? HMU!]

[ It's been a long swim. Kaiba had tended to assume that Jonouchi would easily get lost, but the blond had been oddly insistent that he knew the way---and those spells of spacing out had been concerning. Still, somehow, they'd ended up reaching their target. ]

Mm. You have a tracker's nose after all.

[ It's the closest he's going to get to admitting he was wrong. Just take it. But Kaiba hears the ominous noise at the same time, and his face pales. ]

Move!

[ He lunges as best he can to grab Jonouchi's arm and hide them around a corner in the opposite direction of the noise. ]

We need a plan. Are you armed?

NYH-! What's tha' supposed t' mean! We can't ev'n smell down here! [the blond snaps back, bristling under the remark. It's easy to return to being optimistic however- They're doing great after all. For once, his visions are even coming up as he needs them!

...

The eel appears and he immediately takes those words back.]

HIHH-! [Pulled around the corner, he sucks in a breath- wondering, quietly, if the eel can smell.

Heart still racing he barely catches what Kaiba is asking. When he does, his brain still seems to be taking a minute to catch up.] A...Armed... ...?

[...He says, as he slowly raises his arms up.

...you're going to punch the eel?

[ Kaiba would facepalm if he could. Unless Jou has some secret super-sharp knuckles Kaiba doesn't know about, that's not going to help. ]

Okay. We don't know if it's electric, so we can't touch it with anything metal.

{ He looks at the sword strapped to his belt forlornly. That's right out. ]

....'s worth a shot right?

[Maybe. Possibly. Katsuya, predictably, starts looking over himself for metal before beaming.] Well, I'm clear then! So...

[He peers around, looking at the rather sizable eel.] ...nyh...

...So uh...how fast d'y'think it could snap 's jaws aroun' somethin...

Fairly fast. Don't forget we're slower underwater.

[ He's looking around for something they can use...mm, is that an old shipwreck down there? Maybe he can extract wood from it. He starts drifting down. ]

Any visions about this part?

Training

[ Normally Kitty wouldn't have thought much of someone making use of the training car - that's what it's there for, after all - and was preparing to do a bit of training of her own. But she can't help pausing when she notices the...colorful pony. ]

Oh my gosh...what is that?

[Kaseri, being Kaseri, is very eager to have attention. She immediately drops everything, gives a happy whinny, and trots over like the tiny baby she is.

And to be fair, she Is rather tiny.

Unfortunately-] HIHH-!

[She Literally dropped everything.] Aaaaaah...th' hell...

[Oh.....goodness. That. Is. So. Cute.]

Wow...! You are so adorable!

[Hope Kaseri doesn’t mind being petted, because Kitty kneels down to fawn over the tiny horse, because look at it.

She doesn’t realize that Kaseri is the one holding everything up though, and when he falls, she glances over.]

...are you okay?

NyyYIHIHIIII~!

[Yay! Attention! Attention!

Katsuya has not yet moved from the cube pile. Or, well, not immediately. At the question of how he's doing, a thumbs up abruptly bursts from the small crater in it.]

'M GOOD!

[She blinks as she still looks over, even while still stroking Kaseri’s mane.]

You sure?

[Does she need to fish him out?]

[As Jonouchi passes through the games car, he can feel something distinctly... off. It feels like he's stepped into a graveyard instead of a train car; the temperature's dropped at least five degrees, and the shadows somehow seem gloomier.

Out of the corner of his eye, he can see a silhouette darting out of sight, giggling. Something cold breathes on the back of his neck. And then finally, a low, gravelly voice whispers in his ear,] Boo.

[Meanwhile, the only other inhabitant of the car is sitting blissfully unaware on the other side of the room, goldfishing with their deck of cards.]

[He is, suffice to say, immediately being tempted to just leave. This is a very bad feel. A supremely bad feel. He should leave right-]

HYYYYAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!

[Katsuya Jonouchi has passed out.]

[Is it sad that Wester would recognize that scream anywhere at this point? (Yes. Yes it is.) They startle from their trance at his high-pitched, extremely manly screech, immediately rushing to his side.]

Jonouchi!

[Normally, Wester would be ecstatic to see someone else from their universe—or adjacent to it, at any rate—here, but, well. This isn't normal.

The imp-sized Ghostrick Witch and Mummy hovering above him giggle for a moment, realize the gravity of the situation, and begin panicking. Witch repeatedly bonks his forehead with her staff while Mummy tugs on his lapels.]

H-Hey, are you alright? Oh my god, is he breathing? I can't tell!

That's because you don't breathe!

Oh, right.

...I think you're right, though. He's dead!

NONONONONO!

I CAN'T BELIEVE I JUST KILLED SOMEONE WITH MY BOO!

[Good news is he's definitely breathing. Bad news is he's also definitely out of it, though the bonking is...helping?] Nnnnhhh...nh...

[Bonk. Bonk bonk bonk-] NnnhhHHH-!! Quit tha'! [he shouts on reflex, swatting at the witch and others. It's then, while rubbing his head, that he starts to realize something.] Yeesh...tha' hurts dang it, I-

[Oh.

Now, they're by no means someone like say...Necrofear. Necrofear is way creepier. But the ghost. The mummy! The mummy even has horns!

And honestly he's freaking tired!] Ny...Nyhhihhhhhhhh...

[Don't pass out don't pass out don't pass out-]

WE ARE SO SORRY MISTER JONOUCHI! [Witch and Mummy wail in unison, frantically bowing in his direction.] WE DIDN'T THINK YOU COULD SEE US!

[Meanwhile, Wester has no idea that any of this is happening but is just as concerned.] Oh my god, are you alright? What happened? Do you have a concussion or something?

[please slow down he's recovering,]

Training

[You would think at some point Yugi would stop being so surprised at things that happen. It was normal for something not necessarily normal to happen on this train.

But nope. A floating friend was still something admittedly surprising.]

This is new. You okay up there?

[Because what else could he do except definitely make sure there is a soft landing.]

Nyh?

[It's tricky to do, but Katsuya manages to turn around somewhat from where he's being levitated. With a grin, he waves.] Hey Yugi-!

I'm doin' great! Me 'n Kaseri are practicin', see?

[They seem to be doing great so far- it's a good thing there's so many foam cubes though, because that's still a pretty decent height.]

Want me to arrange the cubes just in case?

[Because he could tell there was potential gaps that one could end up hitting instead if that was to happen and he would rather avoid anyone getting hurt if he can help it.]

Awww, it'll probably be alrigh'! Y' don' have t' do that...

[So he says, but it's probably a good idea if Yugi does it anyway. This would be far from the first time his friend insisted things would be 'fine', only for them to quickly become 'not fine'.]

[Plus it's soft either way. Once he had finished setting up, he went to sit down nearby.]

I have to ask what are you practicing by doing this?

Here, have a grinning Eva, complete with Dancer on her shoulder (instead of her normal shadow of Princess), the red oricorio seemingly sleeping.

YELLS and assumes prior encounter for the sake of....in-game intros... <A<

Katsuya can't quite see where Eva is, but he certainly makes an effort to roll around in the air until he can. The result is that he seems to be dipping backward in an awkward manner, one which will definitely be putting a kink in the boy's neck.

It's fine he'll be fine.

He still isn't used to how much more real and far less 'really weird puppet' that bird looks though. "Oh! Hey there..! We're practicin' psychic stuff..! Figured it'd work f'r gettin folks up where they oughta get, y'know?"

There's an agreeing whinny, which wouldn't be an issue if not for-

"AH- OI-OI OI-!! KASE-"

-the loss of focus associated.

Kaseri seems entirely uncaring as her trainer falls with a 'flmfp' sort of sound on a bunch of cubes.

"....'m okay...!"

Somehow.

Yesssss. :3c Eva is gonna be a very happy happy camper when he arrives.

To be fair, she's still getting over how cartoon-y his own pokemon looks. It's weird, but by now she's thoroughly seen weirder on the Train so, whatever.

There's a wince as he falls and all Eva can assume is he's not yet that in sync with his monster. Typical for new trainers with psychic types and she hopes they can work on it. But that's for later, and she heads over and offers her free hand to help him up.

"I've a potion on me if you're not," she says, meaning one of the potions for humans. "I can't blame you on that." Eyes flick to the pony. "Though... Maybe you need to work on the mental connection first?"

Dizzily, he tries to clear his head enough to answer. "...Those things work on people..?" he manages, groaning as he hauls himself out of the cubes.

"Nhhh...Not really any kinda mental connection goin' on there, t' be honest..." The blond shrugs, sitting up. "'S more gettin' distracted- if she keeps 'er eyes on somethin, it's fine! But..."

Kaseri trots over to Eva, ever eager for attention. Who cares about floating things, when there are nice people who can offer mane pets!
