Hopes and dreams: Honestly, just getting this kid to settle in and not get upset at being trapped all over again (if in a better location than Grace Field House this time) will be a good start. Bonus if the fact that he's coming in with a number tattoo and a bandage over one ear manages to alarm any characters, since well...he's coming in with those.

Little bit about them: Psychic alien hybrid part-times as a mug, or, [slaps Ghost upside the head] this alien can fit SO MUCH autism in it. Used to high-stakes circumstances and hasn't ever learned to slow down and stop for the entire twelve days he's been alive (and probably won't start any time soon). Nonverbal (uses technopathy-to-speech on a smartphone to communicate), prone to sensory overload from psychic senses, but outside of that, extroverted and pretty friendly, generally helpful, will not stand for ethics violations in here.
Hopes and dreams: Reaching for everyone but especially other members of tech and/or science squad. Lowkey planning for "wow. everyone on this train needs therapy. guess I study psychology now." in the future but at the moment it's just settling in. And possibly Getting Involved in the shit Jack's been pulling on Rich, but who can blame him. Also I'm going to beat everyone to death with his permissions please fill them out i am Begging.

Canon: The Smoke (OU). It's a short lived TV series from the UK about a group of firefighters. Mostly focusing on my boy Dennis and the head of the fire watch, Kev. It's a rough 8 ep slog (and some things haven't aged well), but Taron Edgerton is fantastic as Dennis. Worth it for him, but I'm bias.

Cabin and team: Sleeper 8, Cabin A. Purple team!

Little bit about them: Dennis is a rookie firefighter for the white watch in London who's got a troubled past. He's working hard to better himself and be a good man. He doesn't want to end up like his father, dead beat and went to jail for murder. Rough around the edges, but he's got a good soul in him.

Hopes and dreams: Would love CR with people his around his age (19), but also he's pretty great with kids too. Real patient and caring, so that could be nice to play out! Could be interesting to have some sort of fatherly figure as well, one that doesn't lose his mind or isn't complete shit. Of course we won't say no to that as well. Equal opportunity employer here!

Canon: Original. Her planet's been through three magical apocalypses, there're all kinds of things whispering in the fringes of reality, there was a group hunting down occultists to prevent another magical apocalypse, but that ended and now the occult's entering public knowledge at a rapid pace.
Cabin and team: 7-E, Orange Team
Little bit about them: Ancient shapeshifting nightmare entity that's an embodiment of the fear of ambush predators. She's friendly, actually, even if she's a huge troll and also likes scaring people. Also, she's a powerful occultist. Has outlived three pre-human civilizations and kinda sad about it. Loves art big time and a pretty skilled artist in her own right.
Hopes and dreams: All the CR! She'd love to compare notes with other people from other worlds, particularly ones with different magic systems. Also interested in her interacting with other ancient folks. Anyways, I plan for her to begin teaching art after she gets settled in. And she'll be making prepackaged rituals with simple triggers to contribute to mission supplies and for trade. She can be pestered to teach how to do the most basic and safe to use magics, but it'd take a lot for her to teach any more than that considering how dangerous her world's magic are to its users. Canon: Little Nightmares is what happens when you mix the Borrowers with Silent Hill. Children exist as disproportionately smaller beings compared to the rest of the world and all adults have morphed into monsters hellbent on eating them. It's best to think of it as an actual nightmare of the waking world; objects and people are distorted projections of things we know from our reality. The monsters that adults have warped into mimic things actual humans do, but without purpose, representing only twisted echoes of what they should be. As such Mono has surface knowledge of many things even if he has no experience with them. He can speak and does comprehend language but making noise used to be a death sentence with all of the danger in his life so it will take some encouragement to get him using words.

Cabin and team: B:8 Red Team!

Little bit about them: Mono here is a 1.5 ft tall child of 8 (or at just a bit below the average height of an adult's knee) who still believes in the power of friendship, despite the bleak hellscape he comes from. His entire game relies on survival through teamwork and he is willing to fight for his bonds (even if his fear can get the best of him at times.) Given his background, he is going to be pretty weirded out that everyone here are not only friendly but sane enough to SPEAK! Wrapping his head around being allowed to feel safe and happy will take some doing but once it sinks in, this kid is gonna thrive.

Mono has some pretty nifty tech powers to help him get around, but his incredibly small size will still make any task a fun challenge. As brave as Mono tries to be, at the end of the day he is just a traumatized kid coping with all he has endured and trying his best.

Hopes and dreams: Guardians! Bullies! Roomies! Pets? The best part about Mono is that absolutely everyone is new and interesting to him. I'm really looking forward to seeing what traits he picks up from people as he tries to learn what NORMAL is from a ragtag train of worldhoppers.

I'll do my best to keep spoilers to a minimum, but if you WANT to know more of his background, please hit me up! There are plenty of ways to involve crosscanon, especially for people more knowledgeable about the multiverse, psychics or mindreaders who want to understand.

I would love to set him up with flashcards to get used to matching words and concepts (maybe from the game train car?), I also plan to have him watch the cinema and do the reading lessons on the ICP to speed up his learning at a quicker pace, if teaching is your bag!

Please don't feel as though you need to be responsible for him though, I promise, he has had it worse...

Cabin and team: 8:D, which looks like an emoticon, and Blue team, which totally matches her color scheme, so convenient!

Little bit about them:
• She’s blue. Very, very blue.
• She’s a Gem – basically, the core of her self is the gem in between her shoulderblades; her physical body is a projection made of light.
• She was trapped in a mirror for thousands of years, so . . . a few issues from that.
• She once stole the ocean in an attempt to get back to her home world from Earth. It didn’t work out.
• She felt so grateful to the one who set her free from her mirror that she fused herself with another Gem and pinned them both to the bottom of the ocean to try to protect him. That didn’t work out well either.
• She was in a previous game called Interstellar, where people from other worlds were being kidnapped and brainwashed to be musicians. She went there to help rescue them. (Well, one in particular. You can probably guess who from the previous bullet point.)
• She likes fart jokes. Obviously this is the most important fact.

Personality-wise, she's quiet and wary and gets a little overwhelmed by too much at once, but she responds well to kindness and generally wants to try to return it. There's a playful, almost girlish side in there, and she wants to connect with others -- she just isn't always sure how to go about it. She's a sweetheart, really, but she has some challenges and definitely wrestles with anger and fear issues stemming from confinement and being treated as an inanimate object for thousands of years.

Hopes and dreams: Friends, please! Lapis isn't all that of an altruistic type; she needs to care about people in order to care about the world, and especially without a Steven, she otherwise has no reason to care about this world at all.

Though it probably won't happen immediately, I'd love to get her playful side unlocked more often. She also needs some hobbies; she's used to having a purpose, and downtime will be bizarre for her. I'm thinking art will be a good hobby, as she ends up trying it out in her original canon and it seems to fit, but she'll be up for trying a lot of things.

Extra - I expect Lapis to have trouble upon arrival. She was taken from Interstellar at a point where she was caught in the main antagonist's secret room, snooping for information. She was cut off from the exit and from water, and she was taken from the moment the antagonist closed in and wrapped her fingers around Lapis' neck. Add that to her ever-present latent fear and anxiety, and . . . yeah. I imagine she'll be more than a little freaked out by the situation and possibly try to fight her way out of it.

She will not want to get on the train. Unless someone manages to convince her, she will end up in the luggage car, where I may have to ask for a volunteer to find her gem rattling around in one of the trunks. It'd take her a few hours after that to regenerate her physical form.

If you survived reading all of this, you get an A+ for the night. ;)

Canon: Final Fantasy XV. He's first and foremost a fanfic AU from a 'fix-it' fanfic called Unbroken Night (over here on AO3!) where he loses his eyesight but still tries to do what he's meant to do in life. He ultimately hasn't gotten to, because he got transported into space to be a pilot on a spaceship in the Drift Fleet. After that he spent a while trying to survive on a mostly deserted planet called Agra 10 before he was transported to the voidtrain. Then he left for ICly about two months and now he's back.

Little bit about them: Back home, he's a prince-turned-acting-king of a country in total chaos. In space, he's an unknown pilot. On the train, he's the local blind dude who likes to sleep in the cinema car for whatever reason. Come be his friend.

Hopes and dreams: Give friends! He made some last time he was around, but he can always use more that can get past his somewhat grumpy and sarcastic interior to his dork interior. People to help him cook/fight/navigate video games. People to fall asleep on?

I've been out of the RP scene for several months now, and got the itch to play a not-so-old favorite again and here we are.

Canon: Persona 5 (plus content from Royal and Strikers)

Little bit about them: A pile of trust issues, social anxiety, and memes wrapped up in a ball of teenage rebellion. Futaba's life has thrown her through the wringer multiple times, and she's come out of it with a found family she adores, authority problems out the wazoo, a sometimes-shaky sense of self-confidence, and more hacking skills than she knows what to do with (that's a lie, she has plenty of ideas what to do with them).

While plenty of you probably already know about her or her canon already, Futaba is from Persona 5, a game about vigilante teens using supernatural shenanigans to bring criminals the law can't or won't touch to justice. Specifically, she's from near the end of Persona 5 Strikers, the sequel which has been out in Japan for over a year but only just released internationally last month. For that reason, if y'all could pop over to her Permissions Post and let me know if you're okay with spoilers or not! Plus, y'know, you can fill out the permissions for her nifty support abilities at the same time! Or let me know if there's any triggering topics from her backstory I should avoid, or heck even if you just want to opt out altogether.
Hopes and dreams:
Honestly I'm just excited to be playing Futaba again, so really, just come at me and I'm open to see how things play out - Futaba tends to be fun to play with all sorts of different CR too, from good to bad.

I am hoping to build up a sort of support network early, because Futaba's social anxiety can mean the sooner I hit the ground running with her the better off she'll be - even if said social anxiety isn't as bad as it once was. I have two other cultivators here because apparently you can't stop at one. So he is joining Xue Yang and Xie Lian, breaking my combo of characters that start with the letter X.

Little bit about them: Just another one of those cultivators that seem to be all over the train. Doesn't say much. Kind of a stickler for rules and being proper. Probably going to hide in the quiet cars and library.
Hopes and dreams: I look forward to playing more with this crazy cast and seeing how he deals with doubles and AUs and people who should be dead. Also watching him deal with technology and trying to not lose his shit when every rule he knows gets broken on a daily basis. Cross canon CR that forces him out of his comfort zone.
