We hope everyone had a fun month! Some information for your ongoing journey.

IC Month

This month is (still) the month of Kazoo. Days can be found here.

The thought of the month is "A journey well shared is a journey well enjoyed".

This means: Varied CR. The first thread with each character set in the month of Kazoo will earn you two bonus points during March and April.

Threads that fulfil this criteria can be submitted during April AC. You may find it easier to keep a tracking list of threads for easy compiling of bonus AC!

The ingredient of the month is tomato. Recipes are here. All the ingredients can be found in the storeroom, refreshed at the platform, and characters are welcome to make other food with them.

This month’s chore assignments are:

Red: Cleaning bedrooms and passenger areas
Orange: Meal Preparation

The Train

As the month reaches the halfway point in the month of Kazoo, the train will stop to pick up new passengers.

As a reminder, you can list things that characters have added to the train here. Just comment under the header of the carriage you are adding to!

Important Dates

This month’s event will be a train event on the 10th and 11th of April. We currently have no submitted player-led plots or events for April.

The TDM will be posted on the 16th. Reserves will open on the 18th. Apps are between the 22nd and the 29th, and AC will run between the same dates.

We ask players to please submit any plots that will be unavoidable, widespread or both to the player plot calendar. This is to ensure that a mod has reviewed it, that events don't pile up, and that when relevant, we can open the dressing carriage and put everyone in matching outfits. It also means you can check the calendar for upcoming events or plots!

Our new players (and old players who want a refresher) might find it useful to read gameplay before the platform. As always the mods are happy to answer any questions you might have.

Plans: At the beginning of the month (not on the platform post) he will be involved in an opt-in plot with potentially triggering topics related to death. Read here for details, heed the warnings, and please direct any plotting related to that event to that post, not this one. He will avoid bringing up that event to uninvolved parties, it's strictly opt-in.

For this post, his more mundane activities will involve greeting newcomers, Applin training, and a small Duel Monsters tournament! It will proceed as scheduled. He offers lessons in the game and cards for a starter deck, anyone will be welcome to play him for a chance at winning their own duel disk.

About them: A demigod who escaped a few years of trekking across America with other demigods to try to stop the Titans into another multiverse situation with missions and helping people. He's got trauma buttons, but overall Casper is kind and means well. He has a chaos streak (blame Grandpa Loki) and is willing to gremlin it up with the best/worst of them. He's experienced with ghosts and the dead and is open for people talking about losses with him. (He grew up in a funeral home, he has field experience.)
Plans: He's buying a few things - a grief therapy textbook, things to help with Raven's anti-nightmare project... but there is one thing that is bigger and more exciting than the rest.

POUTINE

He's from Montreal, poutine is extremely important. And when I say 'big' I mean 'enough poutine for about twenty people' because he's mentioned it to people and they are hesitant. He will keep them in his hammerspace pocket so they are warm. He will find you. And he will feed you.

(Note: I, the player, have never had poutine despite growing up right next to Canada. I know, I have failed.)
CR wanted: People to torment with fries and cheese curds and brown gravy. Also more seriously people who need someone to listen to them. He's a pretty good listener. He wants to help. Also anyone who can reasonably keep up with him in sparring... while keeping the damage around them low enough to not wreck the entire car.
Things to avoid: Nothing specifically, though if your character is offering him food with the prawns included in one of the recipes please let me know. He has a phobia of crustaceans.

Plans: I finally put up that 'pls train me how to fight' post that I said I was going to like two months ago, so I've got that. Though I'm down for handwaving the actual teaching part. Otherwise, I've got nothing, really.

Things to avoid: Romance, just cause he's not gonna cheat on Ronan. Otherwise, nothing I can think of!

About them: A formerly brainwashed assassin owned by HYDRA who died in the middle of a fight with Steve Rogers and then spent a year and a half in a dark, dead, horror world, trying to bring it back to life and fight off eldritch monsters. They're a neurotic sweetheart who loves music and origami and hitting the target dead-center. They are trying to single-handedly feed everyone on the train, they're disassociated all to hell, and carry around a lantern that houses their life force.
Plans: Soldat just died on the last mission due to lantern squishage! That's sure a thing. I believe there are plans to try and either shrink or find some way to protect that lantern. We're aiming to get Soldat to actually open up and stop playing their "I Am The Best Asset Ever For My Team" act that they've got up right now, and we're getting there, but it's slow going.
CR wanted: People to adopt. People to teach things to (origami, cooking, fighting, observation skills, languages... they know a lot of weird shit). People to feed. People to tell them they, too, are people. (And people to be prepared when Soldat pushes back on that because no, they are not people, they are a weapon, thank you very much.)
Things to avoid: Not necessarily avoid, but they WILL pitch a fit over mind control, slavery, unwelcome possession, removal of personal choices... I'm perfectly happy to play out them pitching a fit, but just so people are warned. Also not fond of electricity, ice, small spaces, or being looked at for too long, but again, I don't mind tormenting them a little so it's less "avoid" and more "beware".

About them: He's a resident mad scientist who was doing a speedrun of Civilization in his world and now he's been on the train quite awhile. He kinda likes to know what everyone's up to, bit of a busybody these days. He's one of three Junior Team Leads of the Orange Team, works shifts in the medical car and also a team Medic. He has extensive knowledge in STEM fields, offers free STEM lessons to any knowledge level, likes to cook because he doesn't have a lab and is constantly working on some project or another. Including some semi-dangerous ones surrounding the nature of the train and the SCAs. He's really not covert about that now considering last mission's disaster.

Plans: Senku is getting married! (I know, I know, we all thought he already was but pfft, they're slow) They'll be doing that mid-month. Aside from the last mission shaking him pretty badly - he has an experiment to run this month, and a few lingering projects so overall he's really light on plans this month.

CR wanted: All of it, give it to me.

Things to avoid: If you don't want to upset him, don't grab him but if you don't mind that then please go ahead.

About them: She-Ra and the Princesses of Power.
- Cabin: 4:D
- Mad scientist with the ability to move her hair.
- Likely to occasionally miss some social cues, especially when she's excited on missions.
- A scientist who comes from a magical world so she sees it as an integral part of invention.
- Will use her hair to both get around and do stuff. It's constantly moving
Plans: Entrapta is still currently making her big combat robot. Her projects also include making drones, hopefully two for each team to use on missions with VR headsets and let people accomplish some dangerous tasks. Thanks to Tidus and Roland she's going to start expirementing with some of the things related to Void communication, but she has to talk to them (and I have to ask the mods a bunch of questions). But it will be something she's interested in. And she's also looking into researching Rapunzel's hair and its dramatic affects.

And there's the healing sniper and grenades. Some of these might overlap, but right now her points focus will be on the combat bot.

She's going to be talking to Jack either after or during the Rich incident about the issues that lead to it (depending on when and what she finds out) and probably checking in on Kaiba (depending on what happens and what she hears about). Other than that I'm keeping her out of trouble specifically so she can be there to validate her friends and help with plots.
CR wanted: CR that can use a fixit fidgety scientist. That is the CR that I want. I really enjoyed the chance to have her act zany but also usefully during the mission! That was exactly the fun I wanted when I apped her. If I could do it again I'd love that. She can use CR with people that would help in any one of her projects.
Things to avoid: Same as last time. If someone comes at her hard with negative CR she'll just avoid them. It's not productive to engage with someone like that.

About them: Gen is your well meaning local trickster and troll, who just loves to try and sneakily help others without looking like he cares. His current hobbies are doing magic tricks for children and lying to adults for giggles.

Plans: He’s getting married ~~ but otherwise. Uh. Not a lot going on. Possibly drawing on whiteboards and introducing memes to people who never had internet, but let’s see what I can manage.

CR wanted: Friends! Trickster friends especially! I have been very much MIA lately but I swear I’m trying to correct that. I love cross canon CR!

Things to avoid: Gen’s feeling a little fragile after this last mission, so if you’d like to make him angry by implying not everyone on the train matters or that some people are worth leaving behind, well. Go for it. It’s been a while since he’s really been super angry. :D

About them: Willow is an OC from an unnamed book I'm writing with my sister set in a very fantasy world. She is a Phoenix, but after this recent mission, it's likely the whole train knows she's one. Or at least some sort of powerful fire bird of some kind. She's very protective of her closer CR and would do damn near anything to keep them safe. Motherly/sisterly even, and will do anything for her close friends and found family to protect them. She also loves to learn and study all sorts of things, especially if it can benefit her people to prevent conflict, and this is extending now to her fellow passengers due to picking up new skills to better help her healing knowledge.

She's got a set of permissions here, and information about her fire hawk Nova in relation to those questions, so please fill these out!

Plans: for the rest of the IC month she's not going to be up to much aside from teaching Casper more archery stuff, so I've got nothing too solid here for her. She's settling more confidently in her role as a medic and will be spending more time helping out there when she isn't helping train anyone else. She's still gonna be nose deep into the studies she began with Wen Qing and further those. Otherwise, she's got nothing going on.

Things to avoid: He's pretty chill usually. There's a lot of tragic backstory and some stuff in his permissions but I'll warn for that if is seems we're veering into that direction.

Plans: Up front, she'll be noticing that two of her friends (Conan and Ran) will be missing but not leaving the train, so she'll be missing them until they come back. Beyond that, she's been progressing in her sword practice and will be buying a sword at the start of the month. Not much else beyond that.
CR wanted: Pretty much anyone. She tends to be easy to get along with.

Plans: Enjoy some downtime by NOT having a quiet breakdown about demons, ha ha, what a wild suggestion; doing some tinkering in the lab, making plans to renovate the lab space, testing new equipment and/or repairing anything that needs it, taking advantage of that sauna, helping his personal assistant get settled, the usual.
CR wanted: All of it. ._. Give him gen cr, awkward fun easygoing stuff, drinking buddies, science and engineering friends, sparring partners, others he can assist in bringing out of their shells and make projects of, folks cool with having snacks and silly nicknames and coolly delivered sarcasm thrust upon them...

About them: Cabin 4B, orange team, OC from a fantasy/magic-heavy world! 16-year-old healer who has a weird contradiction of really liking people and also being terrified they'll hate him for absolutely no reason. (His world took a perfectly good healer and gave him a tragic backstory and now he has anxiety.) He's still working on coming out of his shell, but he's got a ways to go. The exception here is, if he meets someone in pain or needing help, he goes into healer mode and that's all confidence and authority. He knows what he's doing and he wants to help. Basically, he's a little ball of compassion and anxiety. Please be his friend.
Plans: Ryo has gotten better at approaching people and making his opinions known, though he still has quite a bit of anxiety over People Hating Him For No Reason. He's still pretty exhausted after the recent mission and will be having something of a breakdown at platform; aside from that, he's mostly staying the course: working on his cooking skills, gardening, and taking care of people if they seem like they need it.
CR wanted: Give me everything! He needs friends his own age, he needs parents, and while he doesn't necessarily need people to take care of he will absolutely gravitate towards them and take care of them. He's been adopting a lot of people with personhood issues. It's kind of wild. The only caveat here is, if CR starts out negative, it might be difficult to turn that around, because he 1) is still scared of people and 2) holds grudges.
Things to avoid: OOCly, I don't really have anything that needs to be avoided as long as you don't link me pictures of spiders; ICly, nothing!
Notes: Please fill out his permissions post! Ryo's Sense allows him to pick up on life energy and a few details, and having that information helps me out quite a bit.

About them: Cabin 1-A, Red team leader. From Final Fantasy XIII by way of Dissidia 012, Light's a ex-soldier, ex-magical slave who's now on her third unwilling heroic crusade in as many worlds. She's been here for uhhhh ten and a half months and she's so tired. Grumpy big sister of Red team.

Plans: Somehow still red leader, she needs to make sure everyone's okay after that mission. Or at least, as okay as they'll ever be. Her focus this month is going to be getting to know everyone and recording as much as she can to ensure that they're somewhat futureproof. She's still teaching in Fight Club, too, mostly agility, magic and anti-magic combat, and anti-gravity manoeuvring sometimes just in case the train's gravity cuts out again.

CR wanted: I'd like to strengthen her CR generally, I've neglected her a bit recently.

Yugi's past life's father made an order that killed her entire village and then The State covered up this crime, because he was Pharaoh. She considers this a load of hot bullshit and wants payback.
Plans: Yugi and Kaiba look like two of her targets from back home! So while it's not quite the same she's gonna go after them, and it sounds like she'll succeed with Yugi. Only players who want to be involved in this will be; there's ooc planning here.
CR wanted: look she's gonna do a MURDER first thing that somewhat limits options. but yes please antagonize her with your heroism
Things to avoid: she's the one i wanna make sure people can avoid if they want, at least for this first lashout (she will find some chill afterwards, if only because Biding Her Time makes more sense)

Plans: Get over the shock of ending up on the train, find her ridiculous boss and catch up with him, get settled, meet new people, do some networking?
CR wanted: She's brand new, she knows nothing and has no CR! So give me gal pals and new friends, snark buddies, people to either casually mother-hen or whip into shape, any and all of it!
Things to avoid: I guess I don't wanna start off with anything off-the-wall antagonistic right off the bat, but I don't think there's a big likelihood for that.

Shit getting pinched hurt. This isn't a dream. Mostly he'll be trying to keep his head down and not get in trouble, do his team duties and be a good boy. Maybe make some friends? Enemies?!

About them: Teenage half ghost superhero, from a world that is basically Ghostbusters meets Marvel... with puns.
Plans:
Okay, so Danny's usually happy to chill out on the train and relish not having to deal with all the craziness in his life. But stuff has happened, and he suddenly has plot to deal with.

So #1, after burning through all of his power at the worst possible moment on the last mission, he's decided that having a backup weapon he can use when he's human would probably be a good idea. So he'll be looking to find someone to help him train with that.

#2, Discussions about evil future trauma and issues relating to how ghosts are treated in his world were had. Which means its time for inner conflict and trying to ignore that he has inner conflict, because denial has always worked out so well.

CR wanted: All kinds! Danny really needs to get out and talking to more people. I would love to get him some adult mentor types to help him work through his issues about adult mentor types. Also fellow superheroes, fellow supernatural types, and teenagers to hang out and make terrible decisions with.

About them: He's the husband of Wei Wuxian. He's half youkai, a bakeneko-type. With the youkai's powers, he's a fire-mage type and a skilled swordsman. He doesn't have his instrument guqin yet. He can shapeshift into a calico cat and the cat plays pranks when the youkai possessed him out of amusement. In his human form, he has cat ears and a tail, though not visible under the hoodie.
Plans: Do chores, do Lan routine, be a cat, cook Japanese and Chinese food
CR wanted: He's new since he just got here in March. So if you see cat, pick up cat he wouldn't mind, cat is friendly, mischievous, and playful so Lan Wangji isn't really overly rigid and stoic, and play pranks, but otherwise open to everybody. Under his cat's influence, he's more whimsical and playful. He's fatherly, so throw your kids. He's new, so he isn't quite the mentor type yet, but he protects the young and weak by his nature. I can tag quite fast as him.
Things to avoid: Just don't pick up in his cat-form to toss him, he'll remember that! Unless it's a playful toss. Youkai can be vindictive by nature!

About them: Xingchen was previously blind, but thanks to his family, a surgery fixed that and he can see perfectly. He is connected to Xue Yang (...he dates him so he can learn to be a better person) and A-Qing (previously foster child). He is also the martial uncle of Wei Wuxian(s) and uncle in law of Lan Wangji by marriage. He dies a very painful death and harbor a lot of guilt, he comes into terms with that.
Plans: He bought a pet rabbit! A black and white dutch type, and it's a cute rabbit. OU Lan Wangji gave him ideas. Otherwise, he seldom does chores as he studies and reads medical textbook to help with the medical staff shortage
CR wanted: He works in the medical carriage, studying and work closely with the healers and medic team, so he's interested in health-related and medicine, and being a healer, and he cares for everyone like an on board nurse. I tag fast as him.
Things to avoid: Xingchen occasionally has suicidal idea and self-harm thoughts as the result of his death, but it manifested as guilt and over-exert mentally and exhaust himself

Character: Hua Cheng (OU)
About them: Hua Cheng is an artist, likes to paint and do art things and a skilled fighter and soldier in combat, so give him any weapon and he'll likely to master it. He's not human, in a sense, he's a ghost who learns to use his spiritual powers to manifest himself and he exist solely for Xie Lian (his husband)
Plans: He just likes painting and stay close to Xie Lian
CR wanted: He's open to everyone and can be a good mentor and friend and helpful ally, but I tag very slowly as himself and he's the slowest of my bunch, but he's open and friendly and likes to wind down by painting and doing artsy things. He might appear aloof and non-chalant to others.

About them: She's your typical fun loving 17 year old high school student. She's easy to get along with so long as you're a Good Person™, though she does have sort of a short fuse. She's also a member of the super secret Phantom Thieves and by extension, a Persona user.
Plans: She's a total newbie, so right now, her plans are mostly to settle in as best she can. She'll try to lay low [this is not what I want for her, though, sorry Ann] out of habit for a while, but I would love for her to get dragged into shenanigans of any and all kinds. I've pulled her from a sort of intense part of her canon, so she'll be more than a little confused and on edge upon arrival.

Character: Futaba Sakura
About them: A pile of trust issues, social anxiety, and memes wrapped up in a chaotic little ball of teenage rebellion. Can summon part of her soul as a giant jellyfish UFO thing and use it to keep track of maps and enemies and willing friends (persimmons post pls) and give you heals and buffs. Hacker/coder extraordinaire, whipcrack smart, but does very bad in crowds and with strangers. And that's all before you unlock the Tragic Backstory (c)!
Plans: While she's not from the worst point in Strikers to be isekai-ed from, she's not from the best either, so she's probably going to be crawling her way throughout the entire train poking her nose into everything - and will promptly jump about five feet when something or someone pokes back. Will probably try to hack the ICPs in the near future and I should check to see how that's gone before and how it'll likely go now. ... the SCAs too. Will also probably be Ann's shadow a decent chunk of the time
CR wanted: She's brand new so I'm not picky at all! To reiterate some stuff from the OOC intro tho: building up at least something of a support network (besides Ann) sooner rather than later is gonna be a priority of mine, but please feel free to come at me with whatever! Really just the more she gets engaged with the game the happier I'll be. Pings include people her own age, fellow techies, fellow gamers/nerds, investigative folks, anti-establishment/chaotic folks. More likely to butt heads with super uptight characters, very Lawful characters, and pro-establishment people.
Things to avoid: For me personally, just all interested parties please note that Futaba is a sassy, chaotic, gremlin child who is blunt and opinionated, loves pushing buttons and has huge authority problems, and all views are her own and not necessarily mine. I'm so sorry about her. She's a menace. I do not personally mind negative CR (it's actually really fun with her tbh) but I've run into situations in the past where people have taken OOC offense to her IC comments and I'd like to avoid that ever happening again, please!
