IC Month

This month is (still) the month of Kazoo. Days can be found here.

The thought of the month is "A journey well shared is a journey well enjoyed".

This means: Varied CR. The first thread with each character set in the month of Kazoo will earn you two bonus points during March and April.

Threads that fulfil this criteria can be submitted during April AC. You may find it easier to keep a tracking list of threads for easy compiling of bonus AC!

The ingredient of the month is tomato. Recipes are here. All the ingredients can be found in the storeroom, refreshed at the platform, and characters are welcome to make other food with them.

This month’s chore assignments are:
Blue: Laundry
Purple: Cleaning kitchen and bathrooms
Red: Cleaning bedrooms and passenger areas
Orange: Meal Preparation

The Train

As the month reaches the halfway point in the month of Kazoo, the train will stop to pick up new passengers.

As a reminder, you can list things that characters have added to the train here. Just comment under the header of the carriage you are adding to!

Important Dates

This month’s event will be a train event on the 10th and 11th of April. We currently have no submitted player-led plots or events for April.

The TDM will be posted on the 16th. Reserves will open on the 18th. Apps are between the 22nd and the 29th, and AC will run between the same dates.

We ask players to please submit any plots that will be unavoidable, widespread or both to the player plot calendar. This is to ensure that a mod has reviewed it, that events don't pile up, and that when relevant, we can open the dressing carriage and put everyone in matching outfits. It also means you can check the calendar for upcoming events or plots!

Our new players (and old players who want a refresher) might find it useful to read gameplay before the platform. As always the mods are happy to answer any questions you might have.

About them: From Yu-Gi-Oh. Arrogant billionaire and CEO, stubborn rival...now train tech support and gaming car lurker.
Plans: At the beginning of the month (not on the platform post) he will be involved in an opt-in plot with potentially triggering topics related to death. Read here for details, heed the warnings, and please direct any plotting related to that event to that post, not this one. He will avoid bringing up that event to uninvolved parties, it's strictly opt-in.

For this post, his more mundane activities will involve greeting newcomers, Applin training, and a small Duel Monsters tournament! It will proceed as scheduled. He offers lessons in the game and cards for a starter deck, anyone will be welcome to play him for a chance at winning their own duel disk.

Character: Bucky Barnes AKA Soldat
About them: A formerly brainwashed assassin owned by HYDRA who died in the middle of a fight with Steve Rogers and then spent a year and a half in a dark, dead, horror world, trying to bring it back to life and fight off eldritch monsters. They're a neurotic sweetheart who loves music and origami and hitting the target dead-center. They are trying to single-handedly feed everyone on the train, they're disassociated all to hell, and carry around a lantern that houses their life force.
Plans: Soldat just died on the last mission due to lantern squishage! That's sure a thing. I believe there are plans to try and either shrink or find some way to protect that lantern. We're aiming to get Soldat to actually open up and stop playing their "I Am The Best Asset Ever For My Team" act that they've got up right now, and we're getting there, but it's slow going.
CR wanted: People to adopt. People to teach things to (origami, cooking, fighting, observation skills, languages... they know a lot of weird shit). People to feed. People to tell them they, too, are people. (And people to be prepared when Soldat pushes back on that because no, they are not people, they are a weapon, thank you very much.)
Things to avoid: Not necessarily avoid, but they WILL pitch a fit over mind control, slavery, unwelcome possession, removal of personal choices... I'm perfectly happy to play out them pitching a fit, but just so people are warned. Also not fond of electricity, ice, small spaces, or being looked at for too long, but again, I don't mind tormenting them a little so it's less "avoid" and more "beware".

Mami Tomoe (Purple)

About them: From Puella Magi Madoka Magica, a senior magical girl with a taste for sweets. She's usually followed by a small leafy-green hedgehog who helps her out.
Plans: She'll be baking, of course, with some new supplies freshly purchased. She plans to offer lessons sometime this month! I'd also love to have her get more involved with gardening, and with helping other magical girls.
CR wanted: More friends, developing friendships...
Things to avoid: She should be fine! The doppel issue was resolved.

About them: Canon is The Raven Cycle/The Dreamer Trilogy. He's a 19-year-old psychic who's still keeping that a secret and is dating a Dreamer, who is...not here. He's also on Orange Team.
Plans: I finally put up that 'pls train me how to fight' post that I said I was going to like two months ago, so I've got that. Though I'm down for handwaving the actual teaching part. Otherwise, I've got nothing, really.
CR wanted: Friends, negative cr, whatever, come at me.
Things to avoid: Romance, just cause he's not gonna cheat on Ronan. Otherwise, nothing I can think of!

Dyme Graydon

About them: Original character. 26-year-old musician with a heart of gold but also who's sassy and not afraid to speak his mind. He's also dumb as a sack of rocks, which I say affectionately. He means well and just wants people to be happy. He's also on Orange Team.
Plans: I've got nothing, come at me with any ideas.
CR wanted: Friends, romance, negative cr, whatever, come at me!
Things to avoid: Nothing that I can think of.

Casper LeBlanc Jr. | Scion/oWoD (CRAU)

Character: Casper LeBlanc, Jr. helborn
About them: A demigod who escaped a few years of trekking across America with other demigods to try to stop the Titans into another multiverse situation with missions and helping people. He's got trauma buttons, but overall Casper is kind and means well. He has a chaos streak (blame Grandpa Loki) and is willing to gremlin it up with the best/worst of them. He's experienced with ghosts and the dead and is open for people talking about losses with him. (He grew up in a funeral home, he has field experience.)
Plans: He's buying a few things - a grief therapy textbook, things to help with Raven's anti-nightmare project... but there is one thing that is bigger and more exciting than the rest.

POUTINE

He's from Montreal, poutine is extremely important. And when I say 'big' I mean 'enough poutine for about twenty people' because he's mentioned it to people and they are hesitant. He will keep them in his hammerspace pocket so they are warm. He will find you. And he will feed you.

(Note: I, the player, have never had poutine despite growing up right next to Canada. I know, I have failed.)
CR wanted: People to torment with fries and cheese curds and brown gravy. Also more seriously people who need someone to listen to them. He's a pretty good listener. He wants to help. Also anyone who can reasonably keep up with him in sparring... while keeping the damage around them low enough to not wreck the entire car.
Things to avoid: Nothing specifically, though if your character is offering him food with the prawns included in one of the recipes please let me know. He has a phobia of crustaceans.

Amery Vallet

About them: Canon is The Volstovic Cycle. Amery is a 25-year-old soldier who was trained to smell fear, fight, and fly magical talking metal dragons. Or really just one in specific (his girl, Anastasia). He comes off as cold and disinterested a lot of the time but he's really soft and gooey inside once you get past his prickly shell. He's also on Purple Team.
Plans: I've got nothing. I've been bad at planning lately, forgive me.
CR wanted: Anything!! Friends, enemies, romance, people he can snark with.
Things to avoid: Nothing that I can think of.

Binky

Entrapta

About them: She-Ra and the Princesses of Power.
- Cabin: 4:D
- Mad scientist with the ability to move her hair.
- Likely to occasionally miss some social cues, especially when she's excited on missions.
- A scientist who comes from a magical world so she sees it as an integral part of invention.
- Will use her hair to both get around and do stuff. It's constantly moving
Plans: Entrapta is still currently making her big combat robot. Her projects also include making drones, hopefully two for each team to use on missions with VR headsets and let people accomplish some dangerous tasks. Thanks to Tidus and Roland she's going to start expirementing with some of the things related to Void communication, but she has to talk to them (and I have to ask the mods a bunch of questions). But it will be something she's interested in. And she's also looking into researching Rapunzel's hair and its dramatic affects.

And there's the healing sniper and grenades. Some of these might overlap, but right now her points focus will be on the combat bot.

She's going to be talking to Jack either after or during the Rich incident about the issues that lead to it (depending on when and what she finds out) and probably checking in on Kaiba (depending on what happens and what she hears about). Other than that I'm keeping her out of trouble specifically so she can be there to validate her friends and help with plots.
CR wanted: CR that can use a fixit fidgety scientist. That is the CR that I want. I really enjoyed the chance to have her act zany but also usefully during the mission! That was exactly the fun I wanted when I apped her. If I could do it again I'd love that. She can use CR with people that would help in any one of her projects.
Things to avoid: Same as last time. If someone comes at her hard with negative CR she'll just avoid them. It's not productive to engage with someone like that.

Yondu Udonta

Character: Yondu Udonta
About them: Guardians of the Galaxy (MCU)
- Cabin: 1:B
- Blue alien space pirate biker redneck
- Has a very obvious cybernetic implant on his head called a fin
- Has an arrow made of incredibly durable and sensitive metal that responds to his fin and whistles. He used it during the mission finale but had to do so depending entirely on the fin.
- Used to be a former Kree battle slave and a scarred up face as a result
- Has complicated feelings related to kids being on the train both from knowing a god that had him hunt down his own kids (and killed them when he brought them to their father, which Yondu didn't know Ego was doing until too late), of raising one of those kids as his own to protect him, and as having been sold as a baby and spending his entire youth as a possession
- He has now managed to tell one (1) person all about all of this and they don't hate him and that's a big deal.
- Has never been loved except maybe for the last ten seconds of his life
- Super misses his superhero team and is kind of half-ass trying to find people to fight by like that again.
- Likes to collect tiny figurines and has accomplished finding one tiny carved chicken.
Plans: He's going to buy his Ravager outfit so he'll be leathering it up around the train.

He's going to commission little Ravager badges for his adopted babies.

He's going to buy some Yaka metal and wants to use it for various stuff.
CR wanted: I want Yondu to have more people to open up to. I want him to have more "teammates" for mission combat when he can hook up with other teams. I want him to have people to hang out with whether they're tinies he's helping out or grown ass people that want to hang out with a sad grumpy alien.
Things to avoid: Breaking his fin or arrow are no-goes, no long term mind control.

Yosuke Otoha | Karas

Character: Yosuke Otoha bakegarasu
About them: A former yakuza enforcer turned guardian of the city of Shinjuku. He can't feel pain and when the city's will allows it (she's here too) he turns into an armored badass that's heavily resistant to basically any attack and goes incredibly fast and can turn into a car and a jet.

Tatsunoko doesn't care about things like 'making sense'.

Anyway here he's fallen into the group of 'people who don't think they're people' and is slowly getting dragged out from it. It's a long process. He's big and will kick ass and also is trying to find another hobby.
Plans: Backdated stuff with Jack and Rich, we'll see how that shakes out. If it goes badly he might need to be knocked out to cool off. Other than that... idk trying to learn new things.
CR wanted: Yes. Positive CR to help him learn new things! Negative CR to throw down in the gym with! ... Positive CR to throw down in the gym with! Come at me, bros.
Things to avoid: Nnnnothing really though his backstory has major triggers in it. Please be warned. I'll cw in toplevels if need be.

Alvin Murphy

About them: Z Nation
- Cabin: 8:D
- Zombie/Human hybrid Blend
- Was a non-violent white-collar criminal experimented on against his will and given a serum and was mauled by invading zombies while on the table
- One of them 'products of horrible science' guys
- Thanks to the serum he has some strange and very questionable abilities, permissions here
- These abilities probably won't be used against anyone on the train under special circumstances.
- Cynical to a fault
- Had a megalomaniac phase and is like, 75% over it
- Evolves, current evolution has red skin and he straight-up looks like Satan. Has been blue and white before.
- Snarky bitch who hates life
- Member of the Sad Dad club. His daughter self-sacrificed to save him.
- Probably gonna flirt if he sees a sign he can get away with it.
- If a telepath is open to talking to him, he's down for some thought communication.
- Might possibly be causing the storage car to put a human-like brain in the fridge, still waiting for the final word on that. If so you are allowed to poke it or avoid it.
Plans: I have none. I have no Murphy plans. This was a YOLO app.
CR wanted: Telepath CR that he can talk to at distance. People to snark at or with.
Things to avoid: Don't belittle his little girl, that's probably the only thing he'll ever get actually really angry about.

Senku Ishigami

Character: Senku Ishigami (Orange Team)

About them: He's a resident mad scientist who was doing a speedrun of Civilization in his world and now he's been on the train quite awhile. He kinda likes to know what everyone's up to, bit of a busybody these days. He's one of three Junior Team Leads of the Orange Team, works shifts in the medical car and also a team Medic. He has extensive knowledge in STEM fields, offers free STEM lessons to any knowledge level, likes to cook because he doesn't have a lab and is constantly working on some project or another. Including some semi-dangerous ones surrounding the nature of the train and the SCAs. He's really not covert about that now considering last mission's disaster.

Plans: Senku is getting married! (I know, I know, we all thought he already was but pfft, they're slow) They'll be doing that mid-month. Aside from the last mission shaking him pretty badly - he has an experiment to run this month, and a few lingering projects so overall he's really light on plans this month.

CR wanted: All of it, give it to me.

Things to avoid: If you don't want to upset him, don't grab him but if you don't mind that then please go ahead.

Ken Amada | Persona 3 (AU)

Character: Ken Amada (AU)
About them: Small and ready to brawl, Ken started plotting a murder at age nine to kill the guy who killed his mother. It took two years and didn't work and now he's here. He fights with his Persona and a spear. Vexen has adopted him so congrats Kingdom Hearts cast, enjoy your new child.

Has a secret love of sentai, and if you get him talking about Featherman he'll go on for a while before he gets embarrassed. He tries to act like an adult to be taken seriously, so he's a strange mix of childish and serious.
Plans: Duel Monsters! Training the other Ken! Playing video games! ... Running into the two new Persona-users on the train and being confused and distressed and probably doing the same to them!

Also a lot of struggling with finding things he thinks he's good at since... he hs a Persona, but there's a ton of hyper-competent people here in fighting or other things. Poor kid's having A Time.
CR wanted: Duel Monsters rivals, let's shounen this up. (Not locked to guys.) Possibly some of his fellow red team members and assorted allies who were at the portal to maybe check up on him, if you want. Other than that, idk.

Prompto Argentum

Character: Prompto Argentum (Purple Team)

About them: Prompto is a chocobo-loving gunslinger! He arrived last month and boy what a mission that was! He's a cheerful, optimistic guy who has some severe social anxiety, but once he calms down he stops stuttering and is fine. He's afraid of dark, cramped spaces, and heights. His job is to protect Noctis, so he'll be doing that when they leave the other train, otherwise it's R&R time baby!

Plans: I don't actually have any yet, except to meet new people and build some new CR. The mission was rough, but nothing he couldn't handle.

CR wanted: Anyone and everyone!

Things to avoid: Prompto's in pretty good spirits, probably nothing that needs avoiding overall.

Yoite

Character: Yoite (Blue Team)

About them: The most notable thing about Yoite here seems to be the fact he's very nearly completely deaf. A sound has to be way louder than people for him to hear it. He also has no taste buds. Despite how rough he seems, he's an elite ninja with a forbidden technique that can do serious damage to flesh creatures. (Not robots) He's learned how to make three origami shapes and now that Ichigo has told him he should fold 1000 cranes for luck he might try that.

Plans: Crane-folding. Also I'd like Yoite to try ONE new activity, at least. A movie maybe?

CR wanted: Anything really, he doesn't have a lot of CR, but that's because he's not very outgoing. He's getting better, slowly.

Things to avoid: One shouldn't sneak up on Yoite. He's liable to pull a kunai on you.

About them: Demyx is a seemingly lazy, unproductive member of the Orange Team. He wouldn't be caught dead doing chores - and he keeps hopping to purple for missions where he's actually been kicking some serious ass. He's a musician at heart and mostly lurks in the music room, or the spa. A Nobody who's lost Xehanort's influence, he's just a relaxed easy-going kind of guy.

Plans: Demyx has a serious case of feelings right now. It's really causing him some existential angst. Apart from that, he needs to leave the music room and let go of his sitar. Maybe meet new people?

CR wanted: Anything and everything, bring it on!

Things to avoid: He's pretty solid, ask him anything.

Asagiri Gen

Character: Asagiri Gen

About them: Gen is your well meaning local trickster and troll, who just loves to try and sneakily help others without looking like he cares. His current hobbies are doing magic tricks for children and lying to adults for giggles.

Plans: He’s getting married ~~ but otherwise. Uh. Not a lot going on. Possibly drawing on whiteboards and introducing memes to people who never had internet, but let’s see what I can manage.

CR wanted: Friends! Trickster friends especially! I have been very much MIA lately but I swear I’m trying to correct that. I love cross canon CR!

Things to avoid: Gen’s feeling a little fragile after this last mission, so if you’d like to make him angry by implying not everyone on the train matters or that some people are worth leaving behind, well. Go for it. It’s been a while since he’s really been super angry. :D
