April Information and CR meme!
We hope everyone had a fun month! Some information for your ongoing journey.
IC Month
This month is (still) the month of Kazoo. Days can be found here.
The thought of the month is "A journey well shared is a journey well enjoyed".
This means: Varied CR. The first thread with each character set in the month of Kazoo will earn you two bonus points during March and April.
Threads that fulfil this criteria can be submitted during April AC. You may find it easier to keep a tracking list of threads for easy compiling of bonus AC!
The ingredient of the month is tomato. Recipes are here. All the ingredients can be found in the storeroom, refreshed at the platform, and characters are welcome to make other food with them.
This month’s chore assignments are:
Blue: Laundry
Purple: Cleaning kitchen and bathrooms
Red: Cleaning bedrooms and passenger areas
Orange: Meal Preparation
The Train
As the month reaches the halfway point in the month of Kazoo, the train will stop to pick up new passengers.
As a reminder, you can list things that characters have added to the train here. Just comment under the header of the carriage you are adding to!
Important Dates
This month’s event will be a train event on the 10th and 11th of April. We currently have no submitted player-led plots or events for April.
The TDM will be posted on the 16th. Reserves will open on the 18th. Apps are between the 22nd and the 29th, and AC will run between the same dates.

We ask players to please submit any plots that will be unavoidable, widespread or both to the player plot calendar. This is to ensure that a mod has reviewed it, that events don't pile up, and that when relevant, we can open the dressing carriage and put everyone in matching outfits. It also means you can check the calendar for upcoming events or plots!
Our new players (and old players who want a refresher) might find it useful to read gameplay before the platform. As always the mods are happy to answer any questions you might have.

Ryo (OC)
About them: Cabin 4B, orange team, OC from a fantasy/magic-heavy world! 16-year-old healer who has a weird contradiction of really liking people and also being terrified they'll hate him for absolutely no reason. (His world took a perfectly good healer and gave him a tragic backstory and now he has anxiety.) He's still working on coming out of his shell, but he's got a ways to go. The exception here is, if he meets someone in pain or needing help, he goes into healer mode and that's all confidence and authority. He knows what he's doing and he wants to help. Basically, he's a little ball of compassion and anxiety. Please be his friend.
Plans: Ryo has gotten better at approaching people and making his opinions known, though he still has quite a bit of anxiety over People Hating Him For No Reason. He's still pretty exhausted after the recent mission and will be having something of a breakdown at platform; aside from that, he's mostly staying the course: working on his cooking skills, gardening, and taking care of people if they seem like they need it.
CR wanted: Give me everything! He needs friends his own age, he needs parents, and while he doesn't necessarily need people to take care of he will absolutely gravitate towards them and take care of them. He's been adopting a lot of people with personhood issues. It's kind of wild. The only caveat here is, if CR starts out negative, it might be difficult to turn that around, because he 1) is still scared of people and 2) holds grudges.
Things to avoid: OOCly, I don't really have anything that needs to be avoided as long as you don't link me pictures of spiders; ICly, nothing!
Notes: Please fill out his permissions post! Ryo's Sense allows him to pick up on life energy and a few details, and having that information helps me out quite a bit.

Zombies aren't a Thing in Ryo's world - like, there are a few scattered stories of someone being returned from the dead or unable to die, but zombies as a concept don't exist - so Murphy is going to seem real weird to him

Siebren de Kuiper/Sigma (Overwatch)
About them: Cabin 5A, orange team, from Overwatch. A brilliant astrophysicist who experienced a lab accident that gave him gravity powers and shattered his sanity. He's generally kind and interested in others' work, and he's doing his absolute best not to let anyone know about his mental health issues. He's a shield tank, so he's absolutely the protective type.
Plans: He was going to have a Long Talk about his past with a few people, but that will likely be a bit delayed for a bit - we'll see how things shake out. Aside from that, he'll still be hard at work trying to develop his powers in new directions and could absolutely help with that; he's also up for helping new people settle in as needed.
CR wanted: Everything! He could use someone with powers to help him work with his, he tends to take care of kids/younger members of the team, and he can sass with the best of them, so negative CR is also welcome.
Things to avoid: I'm trying not to mentally break Siebren, so if a thread starts pushing too far in that direction, I may ask for a direction change or a rewrite.

That said, I love Entrapta and Siebren CR and she'll want to know more about that Beep Boop situation. And Yondu just really clumsily wants to hang out with him.

Siebren will absolutely hang out with Yondu. They can get alcohol and listen to music, or find something gloriously terrible in the cinema car, or play board games, or whatever works at the time. Chill. Be buds.
Siebren will tell Entrapta what he can, given that he wasn't there for most of the robot interactions, and he'll help her out with her projects if she'd like.

He's not terribly worried about fine control - it's dividing his focus/being able to manipulate multiple items in different ways (as opposed to as a group) that's tripping him up.
