assumed mission preparations and structure
This post is to enable us to create a document that tells players, in broad strokes, what characters can expect to be happening before, during and after missions that doesn’t need to be written out every time and can be assumed to be happening even if players (i.e of healer characters or team leads) are busy. The general structure of a mission. Do teams have meetings? Covering what, generally? Are characters asked to take certain supplies or stay in groups? Are medically trained characters manning the triage and medical carriages? How about when the train isn’t on-world? What items and supplies are in general use?
We're looking for preparations or actions that, even if not explicitly threaded out every mission, will nevertheless always be the case unless otherwise stated. (i.e. all responsible characters are untethered, the train is on fire, etc)
As mentioned in the info post, we don't want to know about individuals' personal habits unless they have a wide-reaching effect. If you give a train-wide buff for a week's duration, put it in. Otherwise, leave it for threads.
Please tag into the toplevels, or create your own if there's a section we've missed!

Additionally, as soon as the SCA network is online, he'll be active on both channels For Teams and For Everyone. For the channel specific to Purple, he'll ask for updates and if there's anything unusual happening with regards to their mission directives; for the channel open to all, he'll ask if anyone needs more Purple help and will keep his ears on the ground for significant developments that affect everyone, regardless of team colors.
Lastly, he is also a member of the Black Squad and will be glad to either explain its function, or jump to a character's rescue during a mission if needed. The SCA network will be perfect to get in touch with him for this.
Re: purple, team-specific
With Roland focusing on the comms, Glorfindel tends to be on the front-line more, comms less, though he is flexible, so he will go where his talents are best utilized, supporting his team wherever and however he can, and keeping an eye on the mental and spiritual well-being of the Team.

During missions: Red mission participants, if leaving camp/hub alone, will at least be asked to take a partner with them. All team members will be offered healing supplies (potions, bandages) and given access to general supplies.
After missions: Red team members will be told to go to medical or to bed if required, but whether they actually go is up to them.

He does not have magic healing though and is open to a blend to minimize recovery time, but he needs to work with another healer for that.
He considers himself on-call whatever the train equivalent is of 24/7 inside or outside of missions. He's always in the field due to other interests, but he would happily take shifts in the med bay as necessary, provided he's not the one indisposed.

As a leader she is carrying at least one Elixir, which fully restore a person's health and spiritual/magical power, and this is known publicly.
Red team can assume they will be healed in mission downtime, provided they don't avoid her or aren't immune to/otherwise unaffected by white magic.

Still, whatever team Tidus ends up on, he'll take the time to heal anyone who needs it. He can also help give some added protection to people who needs moving with barriers and reflecting any magic. Tidus has been playing magic healer since he joined 4 missions ago, though he doesn't do as much healing after a mission. Just kind of here and there.
He'll also have access to potions of varying strengths, along with some elixirs, and has phoenix downs to help with raising people from near death or unconsciousness. He'll sometimes be carrying a few extra if people need another to take with them, as well as some spare ethers for magic users.
First response
He'll probably be most useful supporting a magic-based healer-- steadying/distracting the wounded, providing cover while that healer works, carrying people out of danger. He'll only do medical work on the field during missions; after the missions he'll leave the work up to trained healers/medics unless someone grabs him to be a pair of hands.
For his first mission especially, he will leave it up to the team leads to decide if he should get a white band or focus his time/energy elsewhere and just lend support in the moment if needed. His availability as a healer may change depending on how he settles in to doing missions and what gear he ends up with.
Also First Response
I don't know if I want her as a white-band or not, but she would do well working with someone and can definitely be a first-response/stabilize and light healer of trauma in a pinch.
Re: Also First Response
S'reee prefers fieldwork, but will agree to hold down the hub, especially if the mission is in environments where she has to use a lot of her reserves to navigate via floating or shape-shifting.
Re: Also First Response
Having been on the train for half an ingame year she has also been working hard to update her medical knowledge but she prefers leaving the work with complex technology and modern pharmacology to the people with more experience with it. Outside of fieldwork, she prefers working with magical maladies as her lack of experience with modern medicine is less of an issue there, in the field she will do everything.
She is on Blue Team and commonly goes with them or Lightning's Red squad. She likes to be out in the field and doesn't mind coming under fire, since she is pretty sturdy as a cultivator. Signed her up for a white band.
manufacturers/suppliers
If your character reliably restocks items via shop purchase, that can also go here.

Senku always has food, and if a character is stuck on a mission, he's the one to find.
Aside from that, he's going to be coordinating the supply mission objectives of collecting/foraging things from the worlds, organizing and putting those supplies into the general populace, as he volunteered to do at the meeting. Senku is recruiting volunteers for collecting necessary plants/food items, and the processing afterwards.

He also keeps food that needs to be prepared on him that can feed a larger group of people if necessary. He requires his arms band for that.

She also is making caramels now that can recover status effects, she can make about 5 of those a day, but generally keeps them on her unless asked, as she knows a few people that need them to regenerate energy.
However, she can not make these WHILE on a mission, as they all consume her mana, and she'd rather use that to rain down purple death on monsters in those. Note: Monsters generally means whatever is making her want to rain down purple death, not a race term.
Re: manufacturers/suppliers
Glorfindel is constantly making more pastries, bread, lembas bread, and pasties (savory, easily transportable, filling). He has a variety of proteins in the pasties, with options for the vegetarians and vegans as well. If he knows someone's favorite flavors, he will try to incorporate those as he can.
He can easily make enough in one night to feed everyone on the Train for a day. He spends a week leading up to the Mission doing exactly that, and adds it to the preserved stores already in place (though the Lembas bread has an incredibly long shelf life!), and what he's made during the non-marathon days as well.
He gives 4/5 to the central stores that everyone can draw from, and keeps 1/5 which he stores in his Arms Band typically, to feed those who either forget to draw supplies, or go through them faster than intended (or have Something Happen and lose theirs). He will share with anyone and everyone.
Healing Salve:
If the stores drop low, he will take 2-3 days and make more. Each batch makes about 200 small containers. It can be used to quickly heal (overnight) from bruises, minor wounds, and subdual damage, as well as speed up recovery from more serious wounds, and prevent infection.
Arrows:
He makes these to order. They are made with bamboo shafts and hand cast arrowheads.
area buffs and effects
For example: a passive intimidation effect, or an always-on aura that fills nearby allies with hope.
Anti-example: Jedi battlefield meditation, since it has to be activated.

Ravager: All allied attacks strike with more force (enemies are knocked down/shields are broken/etc faster).
Commando: All allies' physical and magical power is enhanced.
Medic: All allies' healing abilities are more effective.
Sentinel: All allies have increased defense against physical and magical attacks.
Synergist: All allies' status enhancements last longer.
Re: area buffs and effects
(In D&D terms, it's like a high level Paladin's aura)

what teams do, have, roles
Is a simple guide of what teams do, what roles they have, etc something we should discuss and also have included in this?
This may be more for those playing Team Leads to chatter on, but non-leads did give their own opinions also. But I know Orange and Blue team were given arms band for their 'quartermasters' to use, by Glorfindel, and Red and Purple already had people with their own.
The subject of people to listen to the comms came up, having people hold multiple of the same roles in case of disappearances, but also to give characters more to do to be more involved.
It would be good to cover this in the guide so we can assume what roles are out there, but also so we can say 'hey, every team has someone doing this even if you don't always see it ICly' because I can understand players not wanting to throw it up every time. especially using the comms
So, teams having Team Leads, but also a person or two who
- pays closer attention to the comms, checks up on individuals with the team
- healers who will stick with their designated teams?
- food suppliers / would this be the quartermasters?
- ??? whatever else here
