assumed mission preparations and structure

This post is to enable us to create a document that tells players, in broad strokes, what characters can expect to be happening before, during and after missions that doesn’t need to be written out every time and can be assumed to be happening even if players (i.e of healer characters or team leads) are busy. The general structure of a mission. Do teams have meetings? Covering what, generally? Are characters asked to take certain supplies or stay in groups? Are medically trained characters manning the triage and medical carriages? How about when the train isn’t on-world? What items and supplies are in general use?

We're looking for preparations or actions that, even if not explicitly threaded out every mission, will nevertheless always be the case unless otherwise stated. (i.e. all responsible characters are untethered, the train is on fire, etc)

As mentioned in the info post, we don't want to know about individuals' personal habits unless they have a wide-reaching effect. If you give a train-wide buff for a week's duration, put it in. Otherwise, leave it for threads.

Please tag into the toplevels, or create your own if there's a section we've missed!

what teams do, have, roles

[personal profile] blitzcheer 2020-12-31 10:00 pm (UTC)(link)
While teams have usually been run by whatever the at-the-time lead thinks, there has come up different times for team leads to speak to one another about a basic way of functioning, and it also came up during the last meeting also!

Is a simple guide of what teams do, what roles they have, etc something we should discuss and also have included in this?

This may be more for those playing Team Leads to chatter on, but non-leads did give their own opinions also. But I know Orange and Blue team were given arms band for their 'quartermasters' to use, by Glorfindel, and Red and Purple already had people with their own.

The subject of people to listen to the comms came up, having people hold multiple of the same roles in case of disappearances, but also to give characters more to do to be more involved.

It would be good to cover this in the guide so we can assume what roles are out there, but also so we can say 'hey, every team has someone doing this even if you don't always see it ICly' because I can understand players not wanting to throw it up every time. especially using the comms

So, teams having Team Leads, but also a person or two who
- pays closer attention to the comms, checks up on individuals with the team
- healers who will stick with their designated teams?
- food suppliers / would this be the quartermasters?
- ??? whatever else here
