IC Month

This month is the month of Kazoo. Days can be found here.

The thought of the month is "A journey well shared is a journey well enjoyed".

This means: Varied CR. The first thread with each character set in the month of Kazoo will earn you two bonus points during March and April.

Threads that fulfil this criteria can be submitted during April AC. You may find it easier to keep a tracking list of threads for easy compiling of bonus AC!

The ingredient of the month is tomato. Recipes are here. All the ingredients can be found in the storeroom and characters are welcome to make other food with them.

This month’s chore assignments are:
Blue: Laundry
Purple: Cleaning kitchen and bathrooms
Red: Cleaning bedrooms and passenger areas
Orange: Meal Preparation

The Train

As the month moves onto the month of Kazoo, the train will stop to pick up new passengers. When everyone rejoins the train they will find a new sleeper carriage.

As a reminder, you can list things that characters have added to the train here. Just comment under the header of the carriage you are adding to!

Important Dates

This month’s event will be a world event on the 11th - 25th of March. (An info and plotting post will go up on the 7th)

The TDM will be posted on the 16th. Reserves will open on the 18th. Apps are between the 22nd and the 29th. AC will run from the 23rd to the 30th of March.

Character: Peter Parker
About them: MCU. resident Spider-Kid one team purple. He's a mess but very friendly and loves meeting new people. He's often in the dressing car lounging in webs, sometimes in the lab, could be in the game car or even in cinema car. He's really all over the place.
Plans: He ordered DnD stuff to start a campaign because he's a huge nerd. Also he's gonna ask a girl out to the party thing. He's very nervous.
CR wanted: Everything. give it.
Things to avoid: Don't call him Einstein unless you just want to give him a panic attack.

Wei Wuxian (MDZS, Slumscape CRAU)

Character: Wei Wuxian (BLUE team), who comes from the novel that The Untamed was based on: Mo Dao Zu Shi. However he's also a crau from a game called Slumscape. Information found here about that game.

About them: Simply put, Wei Wuxian is a character who puts on a bright and happy front to disguise the near-constant hell of hurt he's been through. He doesn't want others to fret or worry about him so he just laughs it off and waves it away most times, but not always. Everyone has their breaking points and even he isn't immune to that. Especially after his time in a place known as Hakagemachi, an unstable pocket of reality & time where the overall theme is horror, both of the mental and physical/body horror variety. Being in that place also changed his appearance just a bit as he now looks like this.

He's much sharper than he lets on and can figure some things out before others do, and he never says no to a drink.

Due to being CRAU, he's got some differences than his canon counterpart, shown here and a set of permissions questions here

Plans: Nothing solid aside from settling in on the train and potentially mistaking a person or two from where he was crau'd from (afaik it's just Masumi Sera he would 100% recognise)

CR wanted: Any and all, preferably some family/friends to call him out on being not as ok as he feigns being. Negative cr to rile his temper up would be pretty funny too.

Things to avoid: You don't have to outright avoid anything, but a heads up about self-harm, sexual assault, suicide (unless I'm canon familiar /gestures to MDZS/Untamed), car related deaths (I've witnessed more than a few of those), or cancer would be GREATLY appreciated! So long as I'm warned ahead of time oocly or in a subject header, we're good. Just don't drop that on me without warning.

Character: Siebren de Kuiper (Sigma)
About them: Cabin 5A, orange team, from Overwatch. A brilliant astrophysicist who experienced a lab accident that gave him gravity powers and shattered his sanity. He's generally kind and interested in others' work, and he's doing his absolute best not to let anyone know about his mental health issues. He's a shield tank, so he's absolutely the protective type.
Plans: He's going to try to be supportive of people who've lost someone at this current platform, since that utterly wrecked him last platform. He's also gotten a Good Long Look at his mental health thanks to last month's event and will be reaching out to his close CR to try to get another perspective and a little stability. Aside from that, he's still working on dividing his focus while using his powers, and he's fairly happy to help new people acclimate to the train. Also, board games. Please play board games with grandpa.
CR wanted: Anything! Let's do this let's go
Things to avoid: OOCly, you don't need to avoid anything with me (aside from pictures of spiders, I guess). ICly, I'm trying not to mentally break Siebren, so if a thread starts pushing too far in that direction, I may ask for a direction change or a rewrite.

Character: Ryo
About them: Cabin 4B, orange team, OC from a fantasy/magic-heavy world! 16-year-old healer who has a weird contradiction of really liking people and also being terrified they'll hate him for absolutely no reason. (His world took a perfectly good healer and gave him a tragic backstory and now he has anxiety.) He's still working on coming out of his shell, but he's got a ways to go. The exception here is, if he meets someone in pain or needing help, he goes into healer mode and that's all confidence and authority. He knows what he's doing and he wants to help. Basically, he's a little ball of compassion and anxiety. Please be his friend.
Plans: Ryo's getting better at not second-guessing his every interaction with people, but he still has a ways to go before he really gets some confidence. He's working on getting to know people better and to expand his cooking skills, which works pretty well with orange's chores this month. Aside from that, he's pretty much just getting used to train life. That said, losing Nita this platform will throw him, so he might be reaching out a bit more after that, just to try to replace some of that upturned stability.
CR wanted: All of it! Adopt him, befriend him, show up injured in front of him and get healed and fussed at, anything. He really does need people to get him out of his shell, and he needs someone to unlock that tragic backstory. That said, if he starts with negative CR with someone, it'll be difficult to turn that around; he holds grudges.
Things to avoid: None!
Notes: Please fill out his permissions post! Ryo's Sense allows him to pick up on life energy and a few details, and having that information helps me out quite a bit.

Willow Amarina (OC)

Character: Willow Amarina (ORANGE team)
About them: Willow is an OC from an unnamed book I'm writing with my sister (I really should come up with a title for that..) set in a very fantasy world. She is a Phoenix, but not many on the train actually know this at all because it's something held as a close secret due to her kind being hunted in her world. She has been dealing with some things on the train relating to the Nion mission in November which rattled her but otherwise she's someone who, once past her defensive walls, is very kind and caring. Motherly/sisterly even, and will do anything for her close friends and found family to protect them. She also loves to learn and study all sorts of things, especially if it can benefit her people to prevent conflict, and this is extending now to her fellow passengers due to picking up new skills to better help her healing knowledge.

She has a set of permissions and permissions questions here, so please do fill them out. (Nova is her bird, a Fire Hawk, for those questions relevant to her)

Plans: I don't have anything super special planned for her until mission outside of Platform where Willow will be a whirlwind of emotions seeing that BOTH Nita and Wen Qing are leaving, and will be upset. HOWEVER, upon seeing Cherry returning to the train, she will immediately bottle that hurt and launch herself at the young cat in joyful tears... As well as shocking Q'uila before gaining her approval (oops? Sorry for sudden launch to niece catte). She's reeling also from her embarrassing blabbing from the de-aging event (and I will be working on backtagging those threads, I'm sorry for delays on there... February was unkind to me.) Speaking of de-aging, I'm all for handwaving those I didn't thread with to still have seen her wings or overheard her blab she's a Phoenix. Just lmk if you wanna have your character do that and I'll be chill with it! She was running around doing that to everyone pretty much.

CR wanted: Anything and Everything. Especially in the Found Family bonds. I'm all for negative and positive CR here.

Senku Ishigami | Dr. Stone

Character: Senku Ishigami - ORANGE TEAM

About them: Senku is a genius from a post-apocalyptic wasteland that uses his encyclopaedic knowledge of the hard sciences to play a real life version of Civilization. He's a workaholic and has a wide range of jobs in his kingdom including being the Chief of Ishigami Village, doctor, engineer, community planner, general and Scientific Leader.

He has expert proficiency in mathematics, engineering, programming and hacking, biology, geology, physics, chemistry, astronomy, cosmology, medicine, botany, astrophysics..if it's hard sciences he's studied it with a hyperfocused vigor. He has a few other varied skills such as sewing and clothing construction, master survival skills, as well as cooking which is really just chemistry in the kitchen. He speaks Japanese, English and Russian. He lacks social skills, strength, stamina and luck.

In the game: He is signed up to teaching STEM classes to all ages, he's going to be taking up shifts in the medical car proper, he's often cooking because he doesn't have a lab to get out his SCIENCE. He's someone deeply invested in the mystery of the train and why they're all here - and he's conducting various experiments to that effect.

Plans: Senku has the materials on hand still to make chocolate, so that's going to be something he does early in the month. Chocolate and cocoa. Aside from that, he's stepping up to assist in the medical car with Ichigo with Wen Qing's departure, as she was the only reason he wasn't doing so, they had it covered. He is learning magic from a book he bought so he'll be trying that out, he's teaching Roland Japanese and learning Dutch from Siebren. He feels he's only working at 30% capacity, so more things to do would be great.

CR wanted: I like any and all CR, really and truly and he's by far my most active character. He likes to know what's going on with everyone, force of habit from being in charge even though he's not in charge here. Also you're all under his tsundere level of care now. You're welcome.

Things to avoid: OOC, I'm up for anything. A good way to get Senku to be mad at you - and it is hard - is to ignore his physical boundaries. Senku is very very touch averse.

Name: Usagi

Character: Katsuya Jonouchi
About them: AU Jonouchi from a world where things are Kinda Different (on MANY LEVELS, he's actually a seer, I'm adding his permissions to the directory)- and then a CRAU from a Pokemon Game at that! Jou's a little more responsible than his canon counterpart, but the trade off is somehow that he's gathered a lot more scars... ...He's also got a pastlife it turns out, but he's handled that like a champ!

Notable for going from standard teen things one minute to fiddling with a drop spindle while holding a puppy sized ponyta the next. Also for finishing sentences.

Jou is on Team Blue, and typically goes with Blue too. He's also cabin 1:E.

Plans: Jou's purchasing a pokemon for someone else, and candies for yet another someone else, but the biggest plan of the month is roomie related and CR related- aside from the usual branching around, he just lost a roomate he was close to, and in the same breath, it's about to be filled in with someone else too.
CR wanted: For now, we're seeing where the chips fall! There's a lot of new folk after all.
Things to avoid: It's not an 'avoid', but rather a warning! As a heads up- and this goes for all four of the muses, even Potato- I'll be taking things rather slow and easy where I can, as one of my games is actually having their closing event this month! So if it takes a bit for me to reply back, don't worry! That's just...that.

Character: Emporio Alniño
About them: From JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (Stone Ocean), Emporio is a young boy who came from a pretty gnarly end-series moment- as a walking spoiler, his permissions are going up in the directory soon enough.

Outside of spoilers though, he grew up hiding around a prison- and somehow came out pretty 'normal' if not fairly intelligent. This kid held the braincell in a cast of adults for a reason after all! He can even fly a chopper somehow...

Despite being on team Orange, Emporio typically runs with Red Team- in fact, he swapped sweaters with someone on Red. He's in cabin 1:A.
Plans: Nope! For the most part, just Emporio getting to know his CR ring and more.
CR wanted: More friends! More connections! Maybe someone who figures out his background isn't quite so typical?
Things to avoid: Aside from the note on Jonouchi's, there's nothing really coming to mind here.

Character: Yuume Souryuu/Kaiba
About them: An OC, from an alternate timeline a full century or so ahead of YGO DM Canon. Mokuba's great-great-great-granddaughter, she's a university student whose current career specializes in entering soulrooms (soulscapes really) to solve related issues. Due to the shadow- kinda like a daemon, or a superpower- she herself has, she can make use of abilities normally specific to those domains while on the typical field. Comes in handy! (Essentially that means pulling on an armor and using a really big sword. Also sliding around in the shadows)

Overall, she's a rather selfless (TOO SELFLESS) woman, who tends to think about the safety and thoughts of others before herself.

Yuume is in team Purple, and while she's gone with Purple for the most part, is just as likely to assist the smaller teams in theory, depending on where she feels she'd be of use. She's in cabin 2:E.
Plans: Right now, Yuume's going to be working with Roland on a few things- though how far that goes, who knows just yet.
CR wanted: Currently, we're just looking to solidify some close CR- which of course means new is very welcome (and good thing there's a lot of new folk)
Things to avoid: None right now, but keep in mind that Yuume herself is incredibly nyctophobic. Which you wouldn't expect given her powerset, but here we are.

Character: 'Potato' (listed as Mondial Ribbok Vardaman on the roster)
About them: A Fate/ OC, from an original grail war! Potato is a uniquely formed homunculus, and is only about 3 feet tall, resembling a sort of plush animal with a large tail. She's entirely indestructible- literally- but the trade off is she can't really do much harm, even while armed.

Not that she wants to do any harm! Potato is pretty much a walking learning AI who picked up her morals off cartoons- while she can be reasoned with on the idea that maybe a fight is necessary, she's more likely to focus on the power of friendship and the like if anything.

As part of team Orange, she's probably gonna go with Orange! It's a hard call to tell where she'd be of use, let alone where she'd expect to be of use. Potato is in cabin 7:E.
Plans: This is Potato's intro platform! The plans are to get going, get settled, and get happy. And maybe make a contract with Caster, for both their sakes.
CR wanted: ALL
Things to avoid: None coming to mind beyond the blanket warning I noted with Jou's blurb!

Prompto Argentum | Final Fantasy XV

Character: Prompto Argentum - PURPLE TEAM

About them: Prompto is a grown up clone that was rescued from Niflheim when he was a baby. He's not aware of this. Aside from that, his an socially anxious disaster. He will take to meeting strangers incredibly slowly, and this manifests in a stutter. Once he knows people, his anxiety melts away. When he was fifteen he befriended the Crown Prince of Lucis, Noctis Lucis Caelum and since then they've been thick as thieves. Without knowing what he wanted to do, and deciding that staying with Noctis was what he wanted, he joined the Crownsguard, pledging a lifelong military service to protecting his best friend. Insomnia, and Lucis, have been lost to the Imperials at this point and they've been on a road trip to get Noctis to Lunafreya's side in Altissia.

He's a ranged fighter, a gunslinger/machinest capable of stealth kills with a knife as a his weapon of choice. He's great at reparing things. In all likelihood those skills came with the programming he undertook in the cloning process. Aside from that he's a photography nut, and an animal lover. Chocobos are the best!

Plans: None! He's brand new! Give him a great big welcome!

CR wanted: Anything and everything. Just be patient with him, he'll get over his anxiety in time.

Things to avoid: OOC, again, I'm fine with anything. Prompto does not like small, cramped, dark spaces.

Character: Yosuke Otoha (Room 1:A, Red team.)
About them: Karas. A former yakuza enforcer turned guardian of the city of Shinjuku. He can't feel pain and he's very socially awkward. His past is kind of terrible and he comes off as uncaring sometimes but he's got a good heart. He's already adopted two brothers and he has been on the train for a month.
Plans: 'Family' picnic with Ryo, Rich, and Yurine. Hopefully awesome in-armor shenanigans now that Yurine is here and he can use his more badass abilities. More... learning how to domestic. More awkward. More feels? Also Rich signed him up for the blind date event so lmao.
CR wanted: Feels. Give him feelings. Also anyone who comes from a similarly sort of 'dirty' background who has a heart, he needs someone to talk to.
Things to avoid: /shrug emoji

Yoite | Nabari no Ou

Character: Yoite - BLUE TEAM

About them: Yoite is a child assassin who's an elite ninja in a secret group. He struggles with his gender identity because he's intersex. It's due to that fact in part that he was harshly abused growing up, and when he ran away after an escalation he was taken in by a ninja group who taught him a technique designed to kill him over time, once they'd gotten all of the use out of him they could.

Yoite is very sick from the Kira technique. He's very nearly completely deaf, his vision is a bit blurred, he has no sense of taste and his body is covered with black qi burns. At times, he coughs up blood. He hasn't had exposure to a childhood, nor has he had exposure to more friends than his one at home, but his experience on the train is teaching him some good lessons like not everyone wants to hurt you.

Plans: Yoite has some books, to do some book learning. He's also going to work on origami some more, which Soldat has taught him. The experience of being physically younger was a pain, but he'll get over it. At least he can talk again!

CR wanted: Yoite needs more friends!

Things to avoid: OOCly, as always, I'm good with whatever. Yoite is actually fine with most topics of conversation, but he tries to sidestep some of his own issues. It should be noted though - that delving into his story is one big trigger warning. His entire life has been miserable, and he's only sixteen.

Character: Ken Amada (Room 2:C, Red team.)
About them: Persona 3, AU. An 11 year old kid who can summon a part of himself to fight, who has spent a year and a half on the streets and half a year with a group of questionable morality in order to track down the guy who killed his mother and kill him. He found the guy but the murder attempt went messy and he didn't end up killing the guy. He has Complicated Feelings about this.
Plans: Deliver present to Xion. Continue to try to outmaneuver Seto Kaiba in Duel Monsters. Maybe start trying to talk to more of the kids his age on the train. Continue attaching himself to the Kingdom Hearts cast since Vexen adopted him. Probably make more bad decisions. Make an announcement before the mission to explain how he summons his Persona so people don't freak out when he does it on the mission.
CR wanted: Kids his age! (So like 13 and under.) He's... not really had much time to be a normal kid in the past few years. He's settling in a bit now and is calming down, so he's a bit more ready to talk to people and not explode his issues all over them. ... That's still a risk, though.

Name: Mary

Character: Zelda of Hyrule, Princess, Sage, and Serial Kidnapee
About them: a young elfin boy dressed in gree-ahem, so sorry, easy mistake to make. A princess from a kingdom with unfortunate and highly regulated naming conventions for its daughters, Zelda has spent nearly half her life on the run from the sorcerer-warlord-pig-god-thing who killed her father and usurped the throne. Also sometimes turns into a harp-playing gender-ambiguous ninja, which after two decades and four Super Smash Bros games probably doesn’t count as a spoiler anymore.
Plans: Looks like Zelda will need to permanently take over the records of visions on the train, so I’ll be putting together yet another prophecy alert post before the mission. Come if the train gives you weird dreams, or if you’ve decided to draw very arbitrary lines about what’s possible on a multiverse-travelling, kidnapping train
CR wanted: Anything works
Things to avoid: I’m pretty flexible, generally.

Demyx | Kingdom Hearts

Character: Demyx - ORANGE TEAM

About them: We first met Demyx as the lazy, playful villain in Kingdom Hearts 2 who seemed like he was backed into a corner he couldn't get out of. This remained true when he returned in Kingdom Hearts 3 - and the disrespect he was shown led him to defect to the side of the light, only not entirely. Demyx was playing both teams and honestly, it's made him incredibly paranoid and fearful of his canonmates. Described as a recon specialist in Days, he's proven he's capable of executing a covert mission well, when he's properly motivated.

He's a bit aloof. He's friendly when spoken to, easy-going and relaxed, but he doesn't make lasting connections. He's a pacifist, he doesn't like fighting but that should not be mistaken for a lack of proficiency. Demyx is incredibly powerful when he wants to be, just like he can be threatening when he wants to be, but like his element he is more content to remain calm. He's a musician and can be found most often with his fingers in the strings of his sitar. His plan is just to keep flying under the radar so he doesn't get noticed. It's a great skill for recon, but not such a great skill for the train.

Plans: I need Demyx to get out of the music room. He needs to be shown there's a bit more than that on the train. I'd also like him to make some friends.

CR wanted: He really needs some friends, and he needs someone in his life who might focus on him for a change. It's hard to get close to him because he's willing to slip out of someone's notice if they're not.

Things to avoid: I'm good with everything - Demyx has been avoiding his Nobody status and explaining what that means, but that's likely going to come up before long. Other then that, just don't whack him with a keyblade and you're good.

Character: Bucky Barnes AKA Soldat
About them: MCU with a canonpoint from RIGHT during the helicarrier fight, CRAU from a horror survival game where upon death they got yoinked into a world of darkness to try and save it from eldritch monsters... They're a former brainwashed assassin, they're technically some kinda pseudoscience lich, they're heavily disassociated, they don't quite consider themselves a person (hence the "they" pronouns), and they're a big fat mother hen about feeding and protecting people. Honestly, a great guy, very kind and helpful, just don't get into the whole personhood thing. Or the used-to-murder-people thing. Or talk about mind control.
Plans: Once the platform stuff has settled, Soldat's gonna teach some people how to do the Lindy Hop! I'll be doing a catch-all log. No major plans beyond that yet!
CR wanted: People to try and break through their "I'm the best Asset, so helpful to my team, no problems or needs here at all!" front. Friends. People to adopt, because they need people to fuss over and keep safe. Open to positive and negative CR, though negative CR will be harder due to the afore-mentioned "I'm going to be the most helpful Asset to my team ever" mindset they've got right now. Need somebody on orange team willing to swap with them for cooking chores? Soldat loves to cook and is good at it.
Things to avoid: Nothing OOCly, but ICly calling them a person or talking about mind control will net you a great big panic attack. Just to make one aware. Not super interested in romance at this time, they're too fucked up in the head for it to be healthy and also they don't like being touched, but maybe in a year or so if you feel like a slow burn that slow :B And don't mind competing with the memory of some of their CR from their last game, and with Steven Grant Rogers.

Character: Casper LeBlanc, Jr. (Room 3:D, Purple team.)
About them: Tabletop character (Scion/Classic World of Darkness) with 3 years of CR from synodiporia. A demigod with shit parents and some PTSD around both crabs and guns, he's had three years to work through his issues and get to a pretty stable place of accepting himself and acknowledging his past without living in it. He's also got a wide variety of skills and can be incredibly powerful, but prefers to use those powers to help others or amuse them rather than harm.
Plans: He's a new person on the train! He'll be arriving with Q'uila (dragoonrouge) who is also from Syn, so he'll probably stick near her for a little bit before peeling off to get distracted on his own. He's going to immediately look at the bundle of Issues that is the train and then just... go around offering a quiet shoulder to lean on. Also possibly accidentally entrance someone with his Song magic. Additionally he is likely going to have a panic attack the first time he looks at the fish stew ingredients since it involves prawns.
CR wanted: Bring him your tired caretakers, your grief-stricken muses, and your people who need some sensible peer-driven advice for anxiety and depression. He's not a licensed therapist but he has a good head on his shoulders (usually). Also planning on having him poke his nose into Purple Team leadership and offer his wide variety of talents and also ridiculously large hammerspace.

Ryo would actually be Very Upset at that because he's a healer the whole point of him is to help people not die, so. None of that self-sacrificial business. :|

I honestly love the weird dynamic they've got in that thread, and I am absolutely up for more! The fact that Otoha trusts Soldat actually counts for quite a bit in Ryo's book, because he knows how cagey Otoha can be. That said, Ryo also wants to learn to cook better/a wider variety of things, so that might be a Slightly Less Heavy thread somewhere down the line if you'd like.

Please teach him some board games. He knows card games - mostly poker - but I don't know if he's played board games since like maybe kindergarten age.
