We hope everyone had a fun month! Some information for your ongoing journey.

IC Month

This month is the month of Kazoo. Days can be found here.

The thought of the month is "A journey well shared is a journey well enjoyed".

This means: Varied CR. The first thread with each character set in the month of Kazoo will earn you two bonus points during March and April.

Threads that fulfil this criteria can be submitted during April AC. You may find it easier to keep a tracking list of threads for easy compiling of bonus AC!

The ingredient of the month is tomato. Recipes are here. All the ingredients can be found in the storeroom and characters are welcome to make other food with them.

This month’s chore assignments are:
Blue: Laundry
Purple: Cleaning kitchen and bathrooms
Red: Cleaning bedrooms and passenger areas
Orange: Meal Preparation

The Train

As the month moves onto the month of Kazoo, the train will stop to pick up new passengers. When everyone rejoins the train they will find a new sleeper carriage.

As a reminder, you can list things that characters have added to the train here. Just comment under the header of the carriage you are adding to!

Important Dates

This month’s event will be a world event on the 11th - 25th of March. (An info and plotting post will go up on the 7th)

The TDM will be posted on the 16th. Reserves will open on the 18th. Apps are between the 22nd and the 29th. AC will run from the 23rd to the 30th of March.

Character: Yosuke Otoha (Room 1:A, Red team.)
About them: Karas. A former yakuza enforcer turned guardian of the city of Shinjuku. He can't feel pain and he's very socially awkward. His past is kind of terrible and he comes off as uncaring sometimes but he's got a good heart. He's already adopted two brothers and he has been on the train for a month.
Plans: 'Family' picnic with Ryo, Rich, and Yurine. Hopefully awesome in-armor shenanigans now that Yurine is here and he can use his more badass abilities. More... learning how to domestic. More awkward. More feels? Also Rich signed him up for the blind date event so lmao.
CR wanted: Feels. Give him feelings. Also anyone who comes from a similarly sort of 'dirty' background who has a heart, he needs someone to talk to.

They do... Otoha's not sure how to bring it up without sounding like he's defending terrible stuff. Some of what she does is just how it works but he realizes how that sounds, so.



Please teach him some board games. He knows card games - mostly poker - but I don't know if he's played board games since like maybe kindergarten age.

Soldat doesn't know any board games yet but Raven promised to teach, so Otoha can learn right along with them :D

Soldat will probably bring it up at some point. Soon. Hell, he should have by now, but suddenly the month was gone and I didn't get to put my catch-all log up in time XD

Otoha hasn't had really... any positive female figures in his life, other than Yurine and like... Homura (another Karas) for like five minutes. So... yep.

Okay but seriously I'd like these two to interact more. I'm just a baddie.

alksdf he's at least confirmed with Ryo that yes, he is physically attractive. But he and V should hang out. Sparring, drinking (if he buys more booze), playing poker... not totally sliding into his old life but enough to be comfortable.

Once V gets his clothes back from his world he will more than happily chip into the booze fund as well.

...Otoha's gonna have to actually teach V to play poker, but V's down for it. He'd be good at it once he learned the hands.

Sparring is something that V needs to do but he's not so great at because he hasn't had to in years. And, like, his "sparring" was always more just kind of. Street brawling. He's not a trained fighter at all. Sword vs. mantis blades could be fun, though.

Yeah Otoha's hand to hand is pretty much street brawling, too. Swords vs mantis blades would be excellent once he double-confirms that no, V's not a mikura.

Character: Ken Amada (Room 2:C, Red team.)
About them: Persona 3, AU. An 11 year old kid who can summon a part of himself to fight, who has spent a year and a half on the streets and half a year with a group of questionable morality in order to track down the guy who killed his mother and kill him. He found the guy but the murder attempt went messy and he didn't end up killing the guy. He has Complicated Feelings about this.
Plans: Deliver present to Xion. Continue to try to outmaneuver Seto Kaiba in Duel Monsters. Maybe start trying to talk to more of the kids his age on the train. Continue attaching himself to the Kingdom Hearts cast since Vexen adopted him. Probably make more bad decisions. Make an announcement before the mission to explain how he summons his Persona so people don't freak out when he does it on the mission.
CR wanted: Kids his age! (So like 13 and under.) He's... not really had much time to be a normal kid in the past few years. He's settling in a bit now and is calming down, so he's a bit more ready to talk to people and not explode his issues all over them. ... That's still a risk, though.

Friend/big brother times and possibly having Ken find out that Lea was involved in Vexen's crispening seem to be the general plan. X3 Also game night!

Hell yes to the first and third, oh no to the second. xD But after they get a little comfortable with each other Ken may well want to show off his Persona which always has a fun first reaction even if the other person's been warned.

Yeah the Persona as well as finding out about Vexen's crispening should both be interesting for different reasons. Lea'll be honest about the first, though, just like he was with Taiki. (That hasn't been played out yet, but will have happened chronologically.)

Ken may eventually open up and reveal why his Persona is Nemesis, but that might take a bit especially after he finds out what Lea did. Boy holds a grudge but he'll follow New Dad's lead on this one.

Yeah, Ken's adult-like behavior is probably... concerning in some ways. Yondu is not Dad but he is welcome to check up on Ken.

Character: Casper LeBlanc, Jr. (Room 3:D, Purple team.)
About them: Tabletop character (Scion/Classic World of Darkness) with 3 years of CR from synodiporia. A demigod with shit parents and some PTSD around both crabs and guns, he's had three years to work through his issues and get to a pretty stable place of accepting himself and acknowledging his past without living in it. He's also got a wide variety of skills and can be incredibly powerful, but prefers to use those powers to help others or amuse them rather than harm.
Plans: He's a new person on the train! He'll be arriving with Q'uila (dragoonrouge) who is also from Syn, so he'll probably stick near her for a little bit before peeling off to get distracted on his own. He's going to immediately look at the bundle of Issues that is the train and then just... go around offering a quiet shoulder to lean on. Also possibly accidentally entrance someone with his Song magic. Additionally he is likely going to have a panic attack the first time he looks at the fish stew ingredients since it involves prawns.
CR wanted: Bring him your tired caretakers, your grief-stricken muses, and your people who need some sensible peer-driven advice for anxiety and depression. He's not a licensed therapist but he has a good head on his shoulders (usually). Also planning on having him poke his nose into Purple Team leadership and offer his wide variety of talents and also ridiculously large hammerspace.
Things to avoid: Please keep in mind his PTSD around gunshots/guns and crabs/other crustaceans. It's fine if it comes up in a thread, just know he won't do well.

Edit: Also if you value your life do not hurt his bird. His soul is in there and also Bob is like a brother to him.

He also has an ability permissions post that it would be helpful if you filled out if you haven't already!
