We hope everyone had a fun month! Some information for your ongoing journey.

IC Month

This month is the month of Kazoo. Days can be found here.

The thought of the month is "A journey well shared is a journey well enjoyed".

This means: Varied CR. The first thread with each character set in the month of Kazoo will earn you two bonus points during March and April.

Threads that fulfil this criteria can be submitted during April AC. You may find it easier to keep a tracking list of threads for easy compiling of bonus AC!

The ingredient of the month is tomato. Recipes are here. All the ingredients can be found in the storeroom and characters are welcome to make other food with them.

This month’s chore assignments are:
Blue: Laundry
Purple: Cleaning kitchen and bathrooms
Red: Cleaning bedrooms and passenger areas
Orange: Meal Preparation

The Train

As the month moves onto the month of Kazoo, the train will stop to pick up new passengers. When everyone rejoins the train they will find a new sleeper carriage.

As a reminder, you can list things that characters have added to the train here. Just comment under the header of the carriage you are adding to!

Important Dates

This month’s event will be a world event on the 11th - 25th of March. (An info and plotting post will go up on the 7th)

The TDM will be posted on the 16th. Reserves will open on the 18th. Apps are between the 22nd and the 29th. AC will run from the 23rd to the 30th of March.

Character: Siebren de Kuiper (Sigma)
About them: Cabin 5A, orange team, from Overwatch. A brilliant astrophysicist who experienced a lab accident that gave him gravity powers and shattered his sanity. He's generally kind and interested in others' work, and he's doing his absolute best not to let anyone know about his mental health issues. He's a shield tank, so he's absolutely the protective type.
Plans: He's going to try to be supportive of people who've lost someone at this current platform, since that utterly wrecked him last platform. He's also gotten a Good Long Look at his mental health thanks to last month's event and will be reaching out to his close CR to try to get another perspective and a little stability. Aside from that, he's still working on dividing his focus while using his powers, and he's fairly happy to help new people acclimate to the train. Also, board games. Please play board games with grandpa.
CR wanted: Anything! Let's do this let's go
Things to avoid: OOCly, you don't need to avoid anything with me (aside from pictures of spiders, I guess). ICly, I'm trying not to mentally break Siebren, so if a thread starts pushing too far in that direction, I may ask for a direction change or a rewrite.

Character: Ryo
About them: Cabin 4B, orange team, OC from a fantasy/magic-heavy world! 16-year-old healer who has a weird contradiction of really liking people and also being terrified they'll hate him for absolutely no reason. (His world took a perfectly good healer and gave him a tragic backstory and now he has anxiety.) He's still working on coming out of his shell, but he's got a ways to go. The exception here is, if he meets someone in pain or needing help, he goes into healer mode and that's all confidence and authority. He knows what he's doing and he wants to help. Basically, he's a little ball of compassion and anxiety. Please be his friend.
Plans: Ryo's getting better at not second-guessing his every interaction with people, but he still has a ways to go before he really gets some confidence. He's working on getting to know people better and to expand his cooking skills, which works pretty well with orange's chores this month. Aside from that, he's pretty much just getting used to train life. That said, losing Nita this platform will throw him, so he might be reaching out a bit more after that, just to try to replace some of that upturned stability.
CR wanted: All of it! Adopt him, befriend him, show up injured in front of him and get healed and fussed at, anything. He really does need people to get him out of his shell, and he needs someone to unlock that tragic backstory. That said, if he starts with negative CR with someone, it'll be difficult to turn that around; he holds grudges.
Things to avoid: None!
Notes: Please fill out his permissions post! Ryo's Sense allows him to pick up on life energy and a few details, and having that information helps me out quite a bit.

I'm on the wrong journal for Willow response rn but! I volunteer birdmom to continue to be A Good to him and console him with Nita's departure. Nita was a sister to her practically, she'll be upset herself.

I also offer a fox boy to adopt him because he's already a dad and has a soft spot for kids. If you want someone who is willing to lay down his life for family, Wei Wuxian is your guy Ryo

Ryo and Willow can just sit together and be Sad for a bit. It's fine. Everything's fine.

Ryo would actually be Very Upset at that because he's a healer the whole point of him is to help people not die, so. None of that self-sacrificial business. :|

Aside from that, it'd be nice to know what Having A Dad That Isn't Terrible is like.

Fortunately or unfortunately his stubbornness makes him reckless and Ryo should yell at him for it at some point. He's willing to lay down his life for people and that's Not Good sometimes.
But he will be A Good Dad to Ryo, which would I guess make him somehow brothers then with Sizhui

Please Ryo, try to get him to not be extremely willing to yeet himself into danger. Unfortunately the game he was in before only amplified that willingness since his nephew showed up, but details.

I honestly love the weird dynamic they've got in that thread, and I am absolutely up for more! The fact that Otoha trusts Soldat actually counts for quite a bit in Ryo's book, because he knows how cagey Otoha can be. That said, Ryo also wants to learn to cook better/a wider variety of things, so that might be a Slightly Less Heavy thread somewhere down the line if you'd like.

Ryo's reaction to Ken, aside from being sad that his presence confirms that Nita is gone for good, would be to help him. Ken is small child and needs help, and Ryo will help him (and also possibly be a bit weirded out by Wormmon, at least to start).

Also, Siebren is really going to need to sort out some thoughts once he meets this version of Ken. He knows an older version of you. It's weird.

I know this isn't even remotely helpful to yell I WOULD GENERALLY LIKE CR but I would generally like more CR since threading with you is fun.

I've mentally broke Yondu in a game before and had to drop him so I understand that pain.

Aside from our usual routine of "Otoha and Ryo chatter" I think Ken maybe talking to Sieb would be good. Siebren is an adult but also seems like a reasonable one ot Ken so far.

Casper is here to listen to you, Siebren. Let him help. Also Casper and Ryo will get along very well, I feel. Similar personalities, even if Casper is more prone to violence than Ryo.

I kind of love that Ken considers Siebren to be reasonable and also immediately asks if his science can be weaponized.

Casper's going to have a long way to go before Siebren is willing to open up to him at all - he's been here since October and is only just getting around to really talking to the people he's closest to, so that's going to be a slow development. I'm here for it, though.

Yeah, no, I figured. Casper's also going to make himself immediately useful to any team that wants him, so he might get a bit more goodwill on the mission, depending on what it is.
