December Information and CR Meme!

We hope everyone had a fun month! Some information for your ongoing journey.

IC Month

This month is the month of Imagination. Days can be found here.

The thought of the month is: "We are made to persist. That's how we find out who we are."

This means: Any thread that reaches 15 comments (total) will earn you two points.

Threads that fulfil this criteria can be submitted during December AC. You may find it easier to keep a tracking list of threads for easy compiling of bonus AC!

Recipes are here. The ingredient of the month is Honey. All the ingredients can be found in the storeroom and characters are welcome to make other food with them.

This month’s chore assignments are:

Blue: Cleaning bedrooms and passenger areas
Purple: Meal Preparation
Red: Laundry
Orange: Cleaning kitchen and bathrooms

The Train

When characters regroup on the train after the platform they will find a new carriage at the end of the train, beyond the luggage carriage.

Triage

This carriage is a double carriage. At the back of the car is a staircase, but at the front there's a lift connecting the two floors. Both floors have a corridor running down the left hand side.

The bottom floor is one large carriage, though there are curved curtain rails on the ceiling so that thick, grey curtains can be pulled around areas to cut them off. There are four medical beds that can be wheeled around or locked in place, and a handful of chairs. There are cupboards with medical equipment, primarily for first aid.

Upstairs there are two surgical bays. Though the equipment is basic, it is enough that wounds can be sewn and minor procedures undertaken. The ICP in this room has instructions for more complicated medical procedures but also carries warnings that advanced medical training is advised and surgery should only be carried out by senior medics.

This has been updated on the setting. Remember to let me know if your character does anything to alter the setting!

Important Dates

This month there will be two mini events! One on the 12th December which will be a little more meta-plot orientated and one on 20th which will be seasonal festive fun!

There is also a player-ran train meeting going up on the 5th December. As a reminder we have a player plot calendar for any large train-wide things anyone wishes to organise!

The TDM will be posted on the 16th. Reserves will open on the 19th. Apps are between the 22nd and 29th. AC will run from the 23rd to the 30th of December.

If you are holding a strike from November you will have the option to either clear it in December or take the free check in and carry your strike over into January.

Character: Willow Amarina (OC)
About them: She's an OC who is a Phoenix. Willow's a stubborn gal who is very sisterly/motherly and will fiercely protect her CR, especially the non-adults of her CR. Even with her stubbornness, she's got a bit of an antisocial streak to her that she's working on coming out of as she's been on the train.

Plans: For the latter half of the IC month, Willow'll be taking it EXTREMELY easy and more than likely is either going to not be found around at all due to being in her cabin (so cabinmates will see her the most), or in the medical car. She can be pulled out of her cabin by her cr as/if they notice that she's not out and about like usual. Willow will still do her chores but will be a lot more scarce. She'll be on the mental mend due to the mission scaring the feathers off her and mentally overexerting herself by healing and stubbornly refusing to rest, but I do want her to be pulled out and do some things with her cr. (keep in mind that oocly I'll be tackling the backlog of tags from the mission, so I'm not taking on many new Dec tags but things that were planned prior to the mission I'm still 100% on board for!)

CR wanted: Any and all! Negative cr for this month in particular isn't a very good idea for her, but I'm game for it regardless!

Character: Agent Eight / Mimi K. Octoling
About them: A refugee from the Octarian military that still has fond feelings of her family back home. Left it all behind for the pursuit of art, freedom, and broadening her horizons. A little nervous that she's the only octoling (and feels some comfort in the non-humans on board). Also terrified of falling into the spa.
Plans: After the craziness that was last month (OOC), Eight is going to be making herself available to getting to know more people and continuing to work on acclimating to life on the train. Her current project is is working on Della's prosthesis.
CR wanted: Anything and everything! She's pretty positive overall, but is strong-willed and stubborn. With everyone being a bit tense, Eight is going to be a bit less stern and will be focusing on picking up the slack for folks that need bed rest. What she also really needs is someone to uncover a little bit of her homesickness and anxiety of being in a world so far removed from her own.

Character: Siebren de Kuiper (Sigma)
About them: From Overwatch, currently on Orange team. Siebren is an astrophysicist with the ability to control gravity because of a lab accident in space. He's intelligent, generally friendly, protective of teammates and people he cares about, and has some pretty massive mental health issues - also caused by that lab accident in space - that he does not always succeed at hiding.

Plans: This past mission hecked him up something fierce. In the short term, he needs to actually relax for a bit and try to get back on an even keel; long-term plans include him actually talking to people about what he's been through, getting more involved in the overarching plot and trying to figure that out, and learning to diversify and expand his use of his powers. Someone did not grow up with shonen anime, so he's gonna need some help there.

CR wanted: GIVE ME EVERYTHING. Science buddies, people to snark at, Actual Friends, people who will call him out on his bullshit, rivals, enemies, the works. I want it all. Let's go.

Things to avoid: On an OOC level, I generally don't need any warnings/am good with pretty much whatever, though I'd prefer to discuss bigger or heavier subject matter beforehand if we start heading in that direction. On an IC level, Siebren is a mental health minefield; I'm okay with putting him in situations that make him actually deal with his issues, but if we get too close to Actually Breaking Him, I'll probably ask to pull it back or head in a different direction.

Character: Aziraphale

About them: Aziraphale is an angel, former Guardian of the Eastern Gate of the Garden of Eden, and main delegated angel to stay on Earth and influence humans toward Heaven. However, Aziraphale soon found himself very interested in humans themselves and the things that they made, with a special fondness for books and good food.

He was meant to be one of the pieces to usher Armaggedon along and to lead toward the new war between Heaven and Hell. He and the demon Crowley (also in the game, go say hi), who'd been on Earth for some six thousand odd years, wanted to find a way to avoid that. Thankfully, things worked out, and now they're no longer associated with their former head offices.

Plucked from right after that story, the two of them ended up in a strange new place for no visible reason (ie They ended up in another game). The world of Life Aftr,where they spend several grueling months with limited power, even more limited resources, and dealing with all sorts of magical chaos and tribulation. Soon, that world was coming to an end too - except, before that happened, they arrived at the Voidtrecker Express, where they have been for a few months.

Plans: Nothing too specific at this time. He vaguely "take over" the top floor of the library, in some shape or form. Plus he's studying what he can about the Voidtrecker and this world, and other worlds.

Character: Ken Ichijouji (& Wormmon)
About them: Ken's from a sequel movie to the original Digimon canon, where he was a villain-to-awkward-buddy character. Since eight years have passed since all the Big Angst Things, he's a lot emotionally healthier but remains driven to kick evil's butt. When people's safety is not in question, however, he's a sweet nerd with boring hobbies.
He's brought along his Digimon partner, a bug with no conception of personal space named Wormmon. Digimon can change forms based on their energy level, though, so this month Wormmon will be....smaller. And cuter. There may be a pacifier involved.
Plans: Ken is trying to give himself space to work through feelings of frustration about the mission, since he doesn't feel like he did all that he could. He's a lot better at this than he used to be, though! He has also realized how much the train already means to him, so he might be a little sappy. Er. More than usual.
Leafmon/Minomon, meanwhile, is here to LOOK ADORABLE and EAT FOOD.
CR wanted: He's got a small core of people he knows well already, and his natural inclination is to be like "okay that's good". So I would like him to start to get to know even MORE people better - expand your social circle, buddy. It is possible to have many good friends.

Character: Trunks Brief (future)
About them: Trunks here is a time traveler and the son of the two most stubborn people in his world. He went back originally to try to prevent his future from happening, and then came back again to help with the crisis in what is, to him, the past. He can be quiet and broody sometimes, but is usually pretty friendly if a bit shy. (Cassie Cage is both helping and not helping that shyness.) He's helpful, and wants to protect everyone. He's definitely a fighter.

Plans: Despite it being so fast-seeming (in game), he and Cassie Cage are dating and fast developing more than just crush-feelings. Other than that, I think I have plans for him to be training a few people in sword or hand-to-hand.

I'm also looking forward to him finding out he has a sister, thanks to the CRAU Bulla who's coming in. :D

About them: Young Wizards - using words to fix the world, sometimes in more impressive ways than we do in ours, but not always! Nita herself is an info nerd and frequent researcher, though she's something of a powerhouse as well.
Plans: As always, I am initially ????? about all plots - if we have something in the works, hit me up with reminders here! If we haven't talked in a while but you'd like a thread with me, ALSO hit me up here!
CR wanted: Again, ??? Am down for more friends, though.
Things to avoid: I'll be keeping an eye on my own headspace for this, but I am Not as good as my characters at writing levelheaded debates. (May not be true according to other people????)

Character: Webmind
About them: From the WWW Trilogy, he's what you get when you gift an internet sentience and... treat him like a person. Though still with people trying to control/kill him, those people are largely talked out of it (though not before terrible things happen, both to Webmind and to a large part of China).
Plans: See Train Meeting things below!
CR wanted: More tech people, please. XD Someone - or ones - who'll help him literally re-tool his body to hold tools will also be wanted.
Things to avoid: /shrug emoji

Character: Alfredo Martini
About them: Romeo's Blue Skies is a canon where dark things happen to good children; Alfredo's story is one of the harshest - see his history for more about THAT, also content warnings. But he's a good soul, always willing to see the best in people. He does not like having to fight, but he absolutely will to protect his friends - and now, the world.
Plans: He's going to come into his own a little more this month, I think - again, see below!
CR wanted: More mentors, more peers/people his age, maaaybe someone who'll flirt with him? That is a VERY tentative thought, however.
Things to avoid: Nothing I can think of! He's hardier than he looks, much as he shouldn't have to be.

Now, TRAIN MEETING THINGS.

First, a personal view: one of the good things, for me, about seeing you all step forward is that *I* don't feel the need to be everywhere and do all the work. XD It shuts a bunch of my anxieties right down, so thank you all for that.

I can also now shrink my characters' focuses down to three key items:
Nita will be focusing on visions and talking to the train, trying to coax it into telling them just WHAT is up. To this effect I'll be collating all her received visions to-date, as well as the variants people have discussed with her, and how they seem to correlate with mission objectives. I'll be focusing on that this week (presumably when I'm not at work |D), to have the doc ready OOCly - presumably on GoogleDocs - by this weekend/the meeting.

Webmind's focus, meanwhile, will continue to be improving the Network (to wit: his endgame of textchat-for-all), though he'll also be branching out more into searchquests on the library. (Most of this has been handwaved to spare Katy, since most searches ARE dead ends, but he has the computer-time to spare, and if people want to figure out what exact wording works for a given search, he'll advertise that he's happy to do it.)

And Alfredo wants to talk more about training - specifically, training as a group and across teams, finding ways the passengers can boost each other's abilities and so forth.
I remember VR Training once being a thing here; if any current characters remember/are still doing it, I'd love for him to find out about it!

About them: Teen Titans (animated, not Go). Raven is introverted and quiet and snarky. She's also an Empath, and used to functioning as part of a super-hero team. She really can be sweet, once you get past her initial guard. She's also half-demon (her dad is the equivalent of Satan), has a temper, and wants nothing to do with his plans of world-conquest. Trigon tries to make her part of his plans anyways, so her being on the train (where he hopefully can't get her) is a good thing.
Plans: She was here briefly before, when the train was much smaller. She'll remember that time, but not anything in between--and when she finds out time has passed, she'll be annoyed. ^_^

It's pretty nice, generally speaking-- though not without issues. On the train he's going to be a cyborg without a network, a mech jockey missing his mech, a socially-oriented man in a totally new community-- and recovering. More info on that last bit here.

Plans: Platforming and getting all introduced and into the swing of things!
CR wanted: Devero has a lot of facets and I don't know which one(s) are going to end up predominant, but folks, he can be a lot of things: the straight man to your mischief-maker, the hardass to your slacker, the dude horrified by the perfectly normal economic or social structures of your world of origin, the baffled newbie who needs his hand held, the socially starved secretly soft man who really wants his hand held, the guy on the team who's conscientious about chores and assignments, the guy who takes care of everyone when he really needs someone to take care of him, the adoptive big brother/dad, the support guy getting stuff done in the background, the really frustrated tech guy, the drill sergeant, the dude teaching line dances from the future in the gym-- he's complicated and I am up for anything!

Things to avoid: OOCly I'm up for pretty much anything and I can engage with some pretty dark themes. Dev's backstory does contain severe relationship abuse, see link above and please be aware if you're sensitive to that.

About them: From The Raven Cycle, he's a 19 year old psychic who tends to be on the quieter side but has no trouble making friends. He's been through Some Shit, so he's used to weird stuff happening.
Plans: I have zero plans, though he will be considerably upset at least part of this month because of Reasons.
CR wanted: Friends! Enemies! Anything in between!
Things to avoid: He's already romantically attached so he won't be getting involved with anyone, but please feel free to flirt with him anyway.

Character: Dyme Graydon
About them: An OC who comes from a futuristic world Not Earth. He's a musician with his own band back home and has a heart of gold. He's also dumb as a sack of rocks most of the time, but he means well.
Plans: Again, I have zero plans. He'll still be a little upset over Bucky leaving, but he's coming to terms with it.
CR wanted: Anything! Good, bad, in between, I'm open to it all!
Things to avoid: Nah

Character: Glorfindel

About them: Tolkien. Silmarrillon, Lord of the Rings. He's just under 5000 years old in this life (that doesn't include his age previous to his death at Gondolin). When I say he has a sunny personality, I mean it, too. He can generate heat or light or both, the flowers in the Greenhouse car love him (especially the sunflowers), he has a warm personality (do you need anything? Food, pastry? Let him feed you!), his aura can heal mind, body, and soul (it's not instant, but it does speed up anything else, I leave how much it affects your character up to you). Also, he teaches Archery and makes arrows.
Also, also, he is a Purple Team Leader and Council Member. Hit him up.

Plans: If anyone needs a forge and is bemoaning the lack of one (or just the fact it would be difficult to get one, what with the ventilation issues), I'd like to mention Glorfindel just melted through a robot with his body in the last mission :) Other than that, he's probably just going to be doing his usual: Cooking/baking, gardening, fussing over his friends, playing music/singing to the train at 3am, teaching archery, and checking if any of the newbies on the Platform need lessons in using the bathroom/shower/kitchen, that sort of thing.

CR wanted: Anyone need a Traindad? Or just a friend to talk to? Or pastries? :) He's always up for comparative religion, as well, especially with other Champions/priests.

Things to avoid: Chill with just about anything. He's got a lover, but flirting never hurt anyone ;)

Character: Wei Wuxian
About them: Mostly novel with a bit of the Untamed drama mixed in for fun.
Wei Wuxian is a very happily married man, and if you ask him, is quite fine, no PTSD here, no trauma, just don't anyone get a dog. >.>
A recovering necromancer. Flute player extraordinaire. Maker of the Spiciest food you will ever spit out :)

Plans: Let's see, he bought his uncle some new eyes, so he's going to see how that surgery comes out. Plus, there's that wedding to plan for. Woot!
Other than that, he's going to be going to Archery practice, continue to work secretly on his Golden Core and sword skills, spend lots of time in the spa, and with his husband.

CR wanted: Need a snarky friend? He's totally there for you!

Things to avoid: He is happily married, but will flirt with anything.

About them: The most hotheaded member of the Guardians of Light from Kingdom Hearts. He can kick butt with the best of them but tends to privately feel that he's less than successful in his desire to help and protect his friends. Also he's not so secretly a soft boi, which manages to shine through despite all his attempts to seem cool. Has had some CRAU adventures from Diatu, which he shares with his fellow passenger, roommate, and best friend Xion.
Plans: A few things. He's gonna request a care of more bathroom/shower facilities and mention it on the network in hopes of other people backing him up. He'll also be attempting to make his own sea salt ice cream in one of the on board ice cream makes and put it into a conveniently portable form as a surprise for Xion. Otherwise, he'll just be dealing with train life as it comes.
CR wanted: Anything really, but especially friendship. his universe basically runs on the power of friendship, and Lea enjoys hanging out with, fighting beside, and generally supporting his friends, particularly those who need some of his big brother energy.
Things to avoid: Not much really? Extreme gore/violence isn't really my thing, but if you're curious/have concerns about something specific, just ask. I don't bite, honest!

Character: Zelda, Princess of Hyrule
About them: The eponymous Hylian princess, Seventh Sage, heiress of Hylia, and a number of titles that I'm probably forgetting (this series, people). This Zelda is from Ocarina of Time, having met both Ganondorf Dragmire and the Hero of Time at a young age and having spent most of her adolescence in hiding as a gender-ambiguous ninja. She's come cleanish about her prophetic gifts on the train, but has been keeping most of her story close to her chest since she arrived.
Plans: Nothing in particular, although I'm hoping to get a log up sometime soon

Things to avoid: I'm mostly willing to fourth-wall her, though I'd ask for heads-up if anyone were to mention The Wind Waker. For what I hope are obvious reasons for anyone who played the game.

Character: Bulla Brief
About them: Bulla is from Dragon Ball GT, and is the daughter of Vegeta and Bulma. She has all the neat powers that come with being half-saiyan, as well as the massive appetite. She's also a CRAU, so she's quite familiar with multiverse shenanigans by now. She's actually quite fascinated with the multiverse and hopes to unravel its secrets so that one day she can find a way to visit all the friends she meets.
Plans: Trunks is going to get a surprise when he discovers that in an alternate timeline, he has a younger sister. She's also going to unintentionally make Allen extra awkward, since she has past CR with him and is oblivious to his crush on her. Bulla will take an interest in getting to know people around the train and find out who's in charge of what, etc. Just...expect her to have lots of questions. She's going to be helpful toward anyone she sees with noticeable injuries.
CR wanted: Friends, sparring partners, other people interested in fashion, hit me up! If your character's an antisocial grump, being Vegeta's daughter has given her a higher tolerance than the average person for that kind of thing.
Things to avoid: Nothing ICly, but OOCly please avoid discussions of animal abuse.
