Plot: Coming for that sweet train data!

Following the train's recent answering session, some nerds have gotten together with the big idea of wanting to help the train. There's the question of what's going on with the train's missing memories surrounding what happened to its crew, and helping the train has always been difficult. Nobody understands what makes the train tick, and how can you help the train when you can't get to its engine room? You access a backdoor with permission from the train, and have it show you files so that you can try to decipher exactly how it works - and invite everyone to come help.

HOW? WHAT?

There will be a network post inviting computer-touching types and also those with energy-reading expertise, and also memory/seer-type gifts to join in on the project. There will be two approaches (simplified): Using computers and a scientific approach to deciphering how the train's data is formulated, and - while also using VR tech to create a projection - also allowing more energy/vision-based gifts to help explore the data to understand it. This is to allow more than scientific-nerds to get onboard. And come on, the train is very special: this is a good chance for scientific and spiritual nerds to come together, and for everyone to help out.

WHEN? WHERE?

This will be taking place over a period of time, between the April and May events. The upstairs game carriage will be used for these sessions to allow for room (just move aside the giant blocks, nobody needs them, right), and anyone willing to help is free to come along. Laptop screens can be projected, as well as the data shared by the train. This will be a group effort, and it may be able to help with other problems - such as the tethers, and how to find those lost. Who knows! First, there must be research.

SIDE PROJECT

An idea will be to offer energy to the train to potentially help it, but it will be cagey about this. However, making a battery to store energy that can be used in the future would be good - if for the train, or for void tears. Tidus is interested in this after speaking with Edge, and a project is a project! If anyone has ideas for this, feel free to share them!

Approach: Master programmer as well as an ability to interface with electronics directly and sort through data.

Character Name: Trunks Brief
Approach: Tech and Energy-reading/manipulation
Notes/Ideas: Trunks is familiar with the sensing and reading of Ki, and has been teaching Bulma and Sonya both to sense it using a traditional and technological approach. He has a laptop, a scanner (She-Ra: PoP verse), and a Scouter (DBZ verse) to also help, and is no slouch with computer or tech. If nothing else, he can also act as a bridge/translator between tech and energy-reading/sensing.

Notes/Ideas: Thanatos is going to help the people doing the actual effort by making sure there are things for headaches along with food and drink available. (Someone else please make the food or they will get toast sandwiches.)

Notes/Ideas: Ryo will be joining Thanatos in making sure everyone is healed/fed/gets the proper amount of rest. Some of y'all can't be trusted to know your own limits. :|

Character Name: Wash
Approach: Tech
Notes/Ideas: Wash has a wealth of (admittedly world-specific) knowledge on the creation/programming/function of AI that might be applicable to the situation; he's also tech-savvy enough to help and possibly to troubleshoot.

(A note: said AI knowledge comes wrapped up in a whole lot of trauma, so Wash will definitely be cagey or dismissive about how he got it if asked. Nobody's unlocked that friendship level here yet.)

Character Name: Thomas Price
Approach: Thomas's powers are not fully defined in canon, but he can both detect and siphon off energy that comes from passing through the boundaries between worlds or dimensions, and use it for things. As a newbie, he's going to do detection/perception, because he doesn't know enough about Void Physics to want to mess with anything relating to that on the train. (He'd set it up that any energy gathered by travel through the Void would go to offset the cost of powering the engines if possible.)
Notes/Ideas: Mostly he just wants to be involved so he gets the news first hand. Sadly, while he's a smart dude and a scholar, he's also been off Earth since the 1960s.

Character Name: Kitty Pryde
Approach: Tech
Notes/Ideas: Kitty has some decent skills with technology and programming, at least enough to assist search for and decipher data. Also, while it probably won't come up, her phasing ability can also disrupt electrical systems and short it out if necessary.

Character Name: Devero
Approach: Tech all the way. He'd want to come at it from the direction of trying to figure out the train "AI's" structure and restrictions, which could hopefully help pinpoint where missing or corrupted data might be stored. He can also help actually producing/modifying the tech they'll use to visualize and manipulate the data, since that's not terribly different from the work he's already done with Seto in producing the hardlight holo drones.

Notes/Ideas: He's directly asked the train just recently if there's anything he can do to be better crew to it, so depending on what that answer is it might inform his approach going forward.

Character Name: Leia Organa
Approach: Force-based energy reading/mental contact. The latter is more limited but she can definitely support/bolster other people's efforts.
Notes/Ideas: She's also a responsible adult and will work on making sure those involved don't overreach themselves and/or potentially push the train to far too fast. The last time that happened the person got some rather nasty psychic backlash.

Approach: Magic and tech
Notes/Ideas: He will happily help with offering raw power, with creating technology, creating magical devices, and with the brainstorming. He doesn't pay attention to the network so someone would have to grab him. Of those already listed as involved, Tidus knows him as a mage and Seto knows some about his tech background.


Character Name: Gremlin (though Najaran)
Approach: tech, but in a magical way
Notes/Ideas: Gremlin is a magical creature whose special ability is a gift with technology. Which isn't terribly useful in their world, which generally considers a wagon and a crossbow to be high tech. He's bored, and happy to help. He prefers breaking things, but is bored enough to be happily helpful. Anyone is free to have seen Gremlin operating the ICPs and the ice cream machine for Najaran so they can ask.

Approach: Himbo, limited borrowing of magical powers
Notes/Ideas: Mostly Zag will be there because Than is, but Elidibus has had first hand experience with Zag's ability to use other people's powers. Usually Gods, but he's also mirrored Leia's force powers in the fight against Kolokifi. He can bolster someone's efforts if need be.

Also maybe he can provide a himbo perspective that will lead to some sort of revelation within the group at large. Idk man Zag just wants to help out

Approach: Technological Approach, along with tech on the military side of things
Notes/Ideas: John will help with technology approaches and how to approach things. He might be weary due to facing a AI of his own at home named Skynet. But he knows his way around a computer.

He also can hack into things if necessary and fix them.
