Test Drive Meme 003
1. Post with your character. I’ve written out some prompts but feel free to make up your own, you have a whole train to play with!
2. Assume they have been around long enough for threads to jump right into the action!
3. Have much fun!
Happy testing!
What to do on a train.
The problem with trains is you are unable to get off them. Whilst hurtling through an ever changing void that’s probably a good thing all told but it can lead to boredom. Or at least it does if you don’t think creatively enough!
What can you do in a standard coach? Well the obvious, most practical use is a comfy place to sit, in relative solitude as long as no one sits too close. Read a book if you’ve the points to buy one, or write in your journal.
But thinking outside the box a standard coach is also a pretty good climbing course, up and down over the rows of seats, there’s even gaps under the seats if you want to add to the challenge. Or you could just play the floor is lava.
Escorting Dralite
Dralite: Small, bat like creatures. As chicks they are about the size of a beach ball, however it soon becomes apparent that they are predominantly made of wings. Unfurled the creature is tiny with massive wings, spanning a meter long each. It is obvious why they need an escort, they cannot yet fly and their movement is severely hampered by their disproportionate wing size. They will happily cling to any friendly creatures.
Adult dralite are about the size of a sheep with large wings and large claws. They are teritorial but not overtly hostile unless provoked.
Dralite have a screech that will floor most creatures, knocking them down disoriented. As chicks their screech will stun, giving them time to escape from danger.
This world has a sizable colony and a group of humans who preserve and look after the huge dralite nests. However it seems like a group of chicks have gone missing, poachers are suspected, probably planning on selling the chicks off world.
Team One Is to track down the missing dralite. There are clues, footprints, other tracks and rumours of an unauthorised camp of humans in the area. Follow the tracks, check out the camp, see if you can find who took the dralite chicks and where they are being kept.
Team Two Is to rescue the chicks by any means necessary. Be that sneaking in and stealing them back or bursting in to challenge the poachers and put an end to their operation once and for all.
Team Three The remaining chicks still need looked after, especially with many of the volunteers helping hunt down the missing ones. They are needy creatures that cannot mover very far on their own so rely on clinging to other species to get around. You might just find yourself with a new dralite hat or cloak clinging to you, trying to get comfy. They shriek whenever they are afraid or don’t get their way and are likely to wrap their wings around your head if things get too scary. Good luck!
Around the Campfire
Once the chicks are back safe and sound it is time for a celebration. A huge BBQ and campfire is set up for a tasty feast. Just remember to share the meat with your new dralite friends or they will get sad and sulky and that could lead to trouble.
There’s lots of food and afterwards the dralite conservationists will tell stories around the fire, inviting the trekkers to do the same. Wanting to know of the different worlds they have been to, the adventures they’ve been on. Or if real life tale telling is not for you then they will settle for a good ghost story.

Amu Hinamori | Spoilers for Shugo Chara (If unsure if they could see the charas, please ask.)
Amu was still very much NOT used to this, thank you very much and would like to go home now. The 12 year old girl with the pink hair had tried to make a small corner of privacy for herself, tacking up a bedsheet around one of the sleeper areas. Not that it helped much. She wanted her own room and her own bed and the sound of her sister singing downstairs and her parents being... well... themselves. She was so nervous around everyone that she had fallen back into her usual Cool And Spicy facade. An irritated bland look, cold short words, and a seeming disinterested in everyone and everything. But that wasn't who she was, or rather, not who she wanted to be.
"So change from a girl who..." the small voice could be heard only by those with a strong connection to magic or souls, who had a chara themselves, or who was under the age of 4. That voice was cut off suddenly.
"No." That voice could be heard by anyone passing by, since it was Amu herself speaking. "No, Ran. Just no." Her voice sounded desperate, even though it was quiet. "Things are already weird enough without that. Just... just leave me alone..., please..." that last qhas whispered in the voice of a child clearly trying not to cry.
What to do
Amu was sitting in a seat by a window, watching the scenery going by, looking beyond bored. Really she was watching the reflections in the window. Only those who could see the charas, as she could, would see the small figures. For those who could - those under the age of 4, those who had a strong connection to magic or souls, those with Shugo Chara of their own, or the odd random adults from her world that could somehow see them despite that making no sense...? - they would see three small figures that looked a little like dolls of children with slightly oversized heads. The three doll like kids were in brightly coloured clothes. there was a pink one with a heart, a blue one with a spade, and a green one with a clover. The diamond girl was asleep in her egg in a pouch on Amu's hip. Amu pretended to not be paying attention as the three floated over the seats, playing the floor is lava. And she pretended not to be paying attention as they started bickering if Miki's - the blue one's - jump to the light fixture using the spiral edge of her notepad as a hook to swing her was fair or not. Something in her eye twitched as the green one started saying that flooding the car with cookie dough would keep them all from landing. When the pink one opened her mouth, Amu lost it and spun to face the three charas hanging to the tops of seats and light fixtures. "THE THREE OF YOU CAN FLY, SO JUST CUT IT OUT!"
And then she realized she had screamed that in front of everyone. And that probably no one else could see them. Her face went as pink as her hair and she scrambled out of her seat, trying to flee.
what to do (assuming madoka can see them since her magic potential is like.. off the charts)
... until the girl suddenly screams. Which, in turn, makes Madoka let out a startled yelp as well. She quickly turns towards the sound of the noise, and when she notices Amu scrambling like that to get up, Madoka looks a little panicked as well before saying-- "A.. Are you okay?!"
That works! :D
no subject
"It's alright, you don't have to feel bad! It was just a little surprising that you suddenly yelled at them like that.." Yes, she's saying 'them'. And Madoka is totally looking in the direction of the three charas as she says it to show she means them.
no subject
The pink one smiled happily and floated over. "You can see us?"
"A new friend!!!"
"I don't sense any other charas, though..."
no subject
"Am I.. not supposed to see them?" Is she supposed to ignore them?! That's why she's making sure to not answer the tiny creatures just yet, she doesn't want to do something wrong. "I mean, they're right there.."
no subject
The green one curtsied, the pink one bounced and waved her pompoms. The blue one gave a small unimpressed wave.
no subject
But despite her confusion, she does look over to the three after a moment, and politely bows when they seem to greet her. "Ah.. I'm Madoka, nice to meet you! I've never seen anything before like these.. um, you called them Charas..?"
no subject
no subject
And they don't seem anything like magical girls, or witches, or anything else supernatural that Madoka does know back home. So she can't even make the connection with that and say that's the reason she can see them.
"Are they magical? Is that why people can't see them?" Even though - in Madoka's eyes - that still doesn't explain how she can see them so clearly though.
no subject
"We're Amu's who she wants to be!" Ran offered, as if that was in any way helpful.
no subject
"Who she wants to be..?" She echoes, seeming to think about it as she says it. The explanation definitely is vague, but not entirely unhelpful. At least it's giving Madoka a slight hint, despite that making her brain run completely in the wrong direction. "Um, Amu.. Do you want to be tiny as well?"
no subject
"She wants to be sweet and kind and helpful and able to fix and make and clean things!" Su said.
Ran moved in front of Su. "She wants to be cheerful and energetic and athletic and brave!"
Miki looked bored. "I think it is obvious what she wants to be," she said, sketching as she spoke.
Amu might be flushing darkly.

And then his Second Sight kicked in, and he saw. . . . what the heck were those cute little beings?
And then the little creatures started bickering and the girl screamed at them.
"Don't worry, it's all right," he said as she started out of her seat. "Your little friends are probably just confused as to where they are, as most newcomers are, and maybe that makes them restless."

It was certainly true that mortal children could see things the adults couldn't see. Some of his mortal allies had brought their children along with them when they came over the mountains to dwell in Beleriand. These children typically had sharper eyes for the Unseen than did their parents. Unless the parent was a seer or a poet.

The three charas floated closer, curious about him.
"I'm Ran!" the pink one said, bouncing in the air happily.
"I'm Miki," she said, pulling out a sketch pad and started to draw... something....
"I'm Su!" the green one said in a high pitched giggle.
no subject
He smiled at the charas and replied, "Hello, Ran, Miki, and Su! Are you enjoying being on this train?" The bounciness of these cute beings suited them.
"What are you drawing, Miki?" he asked.
no subject
Ran nodded happily. "There are sorts of fun things to explore."
"And things we can help fix or tidy!" Su said, spinning in the air with joy.
"You," Miki said bluntly, the faintest bit of pink in her cheeks. Don't mind her, Miki crushes on cute older guys all the time. It is a thing.
no subject
And then he spoke again to the three charas. "You do seem happy about this adventure," he said. "Miki, you're drawing me? Can I see the drawing when you're done?"
no subject
Miki nodded.
no subject
And then of course he had to ask: "So, what's the story on these charming little persons who cluster around you? I'm curious."
And then he said to Miki, wondering, "So, how come you picked me for a subject? Or do you just work on your drawing all the time, and draw whoever or whatever is near you?"
no subject
It was hard to say which of them was blushing more after that, Ran or Amu. Amu tried to answer his other question to change the subject. "Um, so apparently all kids have an egg in their soul, the egg of our hearts, our would be selves. Sometimes when we desperately want to be something we're not yet or have a strong dream that egg shows itself and hatches. Or something."
"That's how we were born!"
Ran nodded. "We're Amu's who she wants to be! There is one more of us, but Dia's asleep right now."
no subject
Buy he turned his attention to Amu to aid her in her task of changing the subject. "So these three are your dream-selves? Wonderful."
And then back to Ran and Su. "It sounds as though you enjoy your lives very much! And I'd like to meet Dia too. Later, I guess."
no subject
"Somedays I wonder why," Amu muttered.

Okay with you if we wrap this one?
Sure! Thanks for the thread.
You're very welcome, and thank you! Maybe they can all meet again someday.
