IC Common Knowledge and Rumours

I figure we could use a post like this, given it's an enclosed train and people will gossip. I hope I don't step on any toes.

Basically, this is a 'what can be assumed people know? What rumours are floating around?' post.

I don't mean personal things (unless you want), but the basic/semi-basic stuff.

This encompasses the train (random wild theories!), passengers (AKA who has a stick up the but, who are the kids), day to day life on the train (who doesn't like certain foods, who uses all the hot water, who hermits in [train car], Rumour has it Princess knows empty laps).

Basically, that kind of thing.

Headers are provided to keep things organised.

(B) a remediation program for prisoners, or (C) run by gods/ascended beings of some sort!

Danny suspects that the void may have some connection to the Ghost Zone in his world.

...That being a mirror dimension that canonly develops random and unpredictable portals to other places and times. For example, the Bermuda Triangle.

Eva avoids anything with coffee/caffeine in it. All anyone knows is she 'doesn't like coffee/caffeine. It is NOT known she has a mild coffee/caffeine allergy.

She has had it a few times, bit always passed it off as looking into the void too long.

For Namine & Yuffie

Naminé draws constantly everywhere and will draw people things because she's nice like that.

Yuffie is ridiculous with her team black and ninja nonsense all the time but she surprisingly helps with chores!

Conan is the source of the terrible and ridiculously strong coffee someone keeps making in the kitchen. If anyone tells him a kid that young shouldn't be drinking that much caffeine he just ignores them.

Conan and Kaito have maintained highly competitive board game competitions for months now, most of which they both cheat at. They also play poker with Heiji and anyone else who can be roped in. And everyone cheats at their poker games.

Conan is the source of most of the library's mystery section.

Conan can't sing.

Danny sometimes walks through walls. (Someone should probably remind him which ones are warded against ghosts).

Danny is a space geek and thinks the void is the coolest thing ever. Giving himself a migraine recently has not deterred him much.

Khary: Everly polite to anyone female, usually looks a bit like trouble waiting for a place to happen. Has started a rumor himself, probably, that he will trade cooking for other chores, and makes some pretty wonderful laced coffee and mixed drinks. (Please note that people on his world have a MiGH higher tolerance for alcohol if they are powerful, and he and his friends are, so the drinks are generally stronger than anyone expects.)

Also they might have heard he plays chess. but oddly, and it is one of the few things he will not generally offer to do with a woman. Play chess.


Elfangor: hasn't been here that long yet, and thread with son is still IP, but they could have seen a weird blue and tan centaur alien thing....

Thea won't talk about the indent on her neck, its from the collar and sex or die island.

If everyone from nearby carriages doesn't know Kaito is deathly afraid of fish, they were probably deaf during the salmon for food phase (Heiji rigged one to drop on him) or new.

Also Kaito is routinely found clinging to walls or the ceiling by his fingernails, apparently out of sheer boredom, and if asked will inform people that the floor is lava and he trying to get from one end of the train to the other.

If he's not there, he's in the game car, half upside down, doing improbable shuffles with cards, or cheating at games with Conan and Heiji

Webmind is another one of those who Doesn't Need Sleep. He can often be found working on his project (aka Building a Textchat) and/or generally at an ICP terminal.

He does do chores, though.

He is also a talkative sort, so people are ALWAYS (and I do mean always) free to handwaving having heard him on the Network/been greeted by him already.

Contrary to rumor he does indeed have a dimmer switch and does not glow all night.

Elves do not sleep, unless quite ill or recovering from a wound, as a norm. Also, as they do not require as much rest, if you need someone for your character to interact with at an odd point in the night, Glorfindel will likely be awake and available :)

He is preternaturally sneaky. Even when he tries not to be, he is quiet. He might even have walked into the room you are in and you never heard him until you turn around, and there he is. He apologizes in advance for any unintentional heart attacks.

The Passengers: Tony Stark

** CW: Shade is being thrown *Everywhere* (I'm really sorry and I promise this is 100% IC. He's just not shy about stating his opinions about things or people and so others would likely know this stuff if they've been around him.) **

Tony's a flirt and does so frequently. In particular, they include- May, Nerdanel, and Aaron and Maglor (while they were here).

His 'besties' on board are Feanor, Gladio, Reigen, Curufin, both Thunderstorms, Wei, and Bucky (though he denies it). He dislikes Zetta, Edge (sometimes), and goes back and forth on whether or not he likes Eva. It kind of depends on his mood and when the last time they butted heads was (ooc- I love this CR :)). (Another side note- He will, at some point or other, think your character is an idiot and might say it too.)

He gossips. (So he does talk about other characters!)

He broke up with Ignis and after a few days they worked things out and got back together. (I *really* did think they were over so my bad on making such a big thing of it. Sorry!)

He's 'officially' adopted Joss and Madoka. He also states frequently that Peter is his kid even if for whatever reason, that isn't as 'official' (it's complicated, ok?). The other 'kids' he views as under his wing or loosely 'his people' are Gwen, Inigo, Luke, Kaito, Conan, Raven, Evie, and Noct. He also has soft spots for Rapunzel, Romeo, and Sizhui Lan who he calls 'Bunny Boy'.

He used to have nightmares and has had panic attacks. Both have gone down dramatically the longer he's been here. (If this is brought up, he won't be nice about it unless you are one of his very close people).

He has days he's just a total dick/ grump to people but most of the time he at least attempts to be helpful and even sort of friendly.

Every now and then, he'll join the kids playing games and stuff in the game car. He's a sore loser and an obnoxious winner.

He leaves treats in the kitchen for the kids often.

His drinking has gotten worse, but has always been a frequent thing on the train. (Again, if this is brought up, be prepared for a negative and possibly aggressive reaction.)

The alembic in the kitchen belongs to Tony and he brews liquor. He does share and will take requests.

He will help anyone with projects, particularly technology ones.

Najaran and Duo were seen sleeping curled up against each other after the aborted mission on the floor of one of the train cars after he let her cry herself to sleep against him. It was adorable.

Najaran has been spotted making... offerings of food to the train, accompanied by a few others.... Also she;'s been using small fires in the garden car to cook and do laundry. So yeah, have fun with that. She does it nearly every day that there isn't a mission.

Xion... anyone who saw the girl in the long black coat in the mission that might have looked for her after will not haver seen her/will not see her till at least June first.

The presence of rapidly fading sparkles in a room means Glimmer has just left. They don't leave a mess, at least!

Glimmer habitually and frequently teleports between floors, carriages, and generally all over the train, but not outside of it; it takes very little effort for her to do so, and she's capable of taking multiple people along with her. If she's excited, she won't ask.

This also means she's able to enter other people's cabins without a ticket. Currently this has a self-imposed limit of 3-B and 3-D (hers and Catra's rooms) because she doesn't know anyone else that well yet.

Clef, who looks ten, can always be found on the giant rock in the library, usually with floating books. He's only not there during missions and the nightly teleport back to their rooms. (Rare other exceptions are RARE)

He also has been known to miss announcements on the SCA. And almost never posts to the network.

Wen Qing is that weirdo who is haunting the train in the middle of the night (she has problems sleeping) and will tide away the long nighttime hours doing chores or reading.

By day, she pretty much lives in the medical car.

Cabins only things

IE: who has what bunk, who snores. Basically, what happens in a cabin stays in the cabin. Or should...

Cabin 3C

- Eva tosses and turns and since the Princes thing, whimpers have been added. She swears things are Fine.
- Princess sleeps on her bunk. He snores a bit.
- Literal leaf print pyjamas and nightdress. And not the cool kind.

Nita's spells work on the train - which, on the more mundane side of things, means she can soundproof areas! Or otherwise trace out and run diagrams.

Still can't talk to the train, though. Sadness. :(

Edit: Also, people are welcome to have their characters be confused about this, particularly if their characters wouldn't be surprised by the idea of a sentient spell.
