1. Post with your character. I’ve written out some prompts but feel free to make up your own, you have a whole train to play with!
2. Assume they have been around long enough for threads to jump right into the action!
3. Have much fun!
Happy testing!
Dining Car
Situated above the kitchen the dining car has a large wooden table stretching the length of the carriage. Two long wooden benches run either side of it. At meal times it is inevitably crowded, chaotic and noisy without a doubt.
Try not to jostle your fellow diners as you navigate inter-universe table manners. Or is waiting better? Eating before or after everyone else so that you can eat in relative peace an entire table length from the next nearest person.
Or are you the rebel who starts a food fight?
Chores
Chores are part of life on board the Voidtrecker Express. Each team is assigned a task each month: Cleaning kitchen and bathrooms, cleaning bedrooms and passenger areas, laundry and cooking.
Obviously the only thing enforcing these chores in a passengers own conscience and their fellow travellers.
Are you diligent or do you shirk? Do you try swapping your tasks with someone else? Or just outright bribing someone to do your work for you? Work together to get the task done or try and persuade a lazy team member to pull their weight.
Snow Way!
In a small village a copy-cat of the supervillain Professor Chill has struck! She has no weather machine but holds the same ability to control snow- and seems to be using natural winter to attack the village.
Team One
The village is being attacked by snowmen and ice golems. Magically animated ice creatures that attack with sticks and claws. Protect the village by fighting off the snow creatures!
Team Two
Many of the village have tried to escape through a mountain pass. Go and help them evacuate. Fend off monsters, carry children or luggage. Help the villagers through the snowdrifts.
Team Three
Our villain seems as fond of puns as her predecessor and finding her is made either easier or harder by the trail of clues left by her. Clues consist of puns, ice riddles and snow facts. Solve the clues and track her down to bring her to justice.
Snowball fight!
Of course once the monsters and villain have been defeated there is some time to have fun in the snow. If anyone can stand the sight of it any more. Snowballs, snow angels and snowmen (the non animated kind) are yours for the making.
Have fun!

Lan WangJi || Mo Dao Zu Shi
Crowds and WangJi did not mix, especially when it came to meals. He preferred it far quieter than the noisy atmosphere of the dining car allowed and his family rules wouldn't allow talking during meals.
So rather than dealing with the crowds, he settled on going to eat at the later end of meals. It gave him the peace to sit and enjoy his food, such that it was, without others trying to get him to carry on a conversation.
Chores
Chores? Not usually something that he had to do, being the Second Master of Gusu Lan and a senior disciple in the sect. Such chores were usually left to others so that he could assist juniors on night hunts and go out as well. Especially now when he was spending most of that time outside the Cloud Recesses.
But since it was a requirement, he wouldn't shy away from it. He was used to following rules, over four thousand of them to be precise. Luckily he had gotten assigned laundry and cooking, two things not so difficult to do.
Though, apologies must be made. WangJi had no idea how to use spice when cooking. Everything would be bland unless someone helped.
Snow Way! Team One
Of course, when there was danger afoot, WangJi was more than willing to put himself at the forefront of it. He had his sword and his guqin to try and destroy these creatures. From a distance, he was using his guqin to send waves of energy at the creatures, ready to switch to his sword if they should get too close.
Chores- cooking~
He can't be expected to disappoint them, right?
And that's what he's planning on doing today, nose buried in a new book full of recipes and paying very little attention to whoever or whatever might be in his path. He's not in his usual robes though, deciding to stick to the blue uniform he's become used to wearing when on 'missions'.
The sound of someone else already moving around finally sinks in and he glances up. Only to freeze, book dropping from suddenly limp fingers.
Then he laughs and darts forward to fling himself at Wangji.
"Lan Zhan! I knew you'd be back."
no subject
Of course, since he didn't cook with spice or seasoning at all, he had no idea where to start and it was very distracting.
Then he heard the sound of something falling to ground, turning to look only moments before there was a laugh and a very familiar face suddenly launched at him. As he wrapped his arms around him, he couldn't help but smile faintly.
"Wei Ying. You're here."
no subject
But there's a flicker of confusion, though he doesn't pull away.
"Of course I am. A-Yuan and I haven't left, though Lady Wen arrived just as you left two weeks ago."
There's no genuine blame in his voice, only a flicker of it teases the edges of it. Wuxian looks up into his husband's eyes, head tilting a little to one side as he hesitates.
"Lan Zhan, do you...remember? Being here before?"
no subject
So that also told him Sizhui was here as well as... that would Wen Qing? He had no ill will against the Wens that WuXian had taken in and protected. They had only been trying to survive in a world that didn't want them. So he did not feel any anger hearing that she was here.
At the question though, he answered honestly.
"I do not remember. I have only just gotten here."
no subject
But Lan Zhan is Lan Zhan. WuXian trusts this man with his life. With everything. That hasn't changed.
There's still one question he has to ask, though he only nods with a quiet hum at the first answer.
"How about back home? What were we doing there?"
no subject
But as WuXian thought, aside from that nothing had changed. WangJi would still protect him with his life.
"Confrontation at Guanyin Temple."
no subject
"You're from a little bit before me and A-Yuan. Time and place on this train don't matter."
But they've gotten sidetracked, he realizes and looks away to take a look at what WangJi's done so far with whatever he's cooking. And laughs, throwing a teasingly cheerful grin at him as he shifts just a little away.
"Want me to help with dinner, Lan Zhan? I found a book with some recipes that should be good."
no subject
"Am I? That's interesting."
He watched as WuXian's attention turned towards the food that he had been making. It wasn't far along at the moment at least.
"Please." Yes, help this hopeless man with cooking.
no subject
"There are some pretty interesting people here! Tony- a lot of them have weird names... Tony makes his own liquor and doesn't mind sharing. There's a friendly spider who likes making people clothes. Kaito is funny and good at slight-of-hand type magic. And there are elves Lan Zhan! Elves!"
He may have been adopted by them...
WuXian smiles brightly at the agreement and sets to pulling out his favorite spices.
no subject
"It sounds like a lot of different people here than at home."
He watched as WuXian began to gather different ingredients to help WangJi with his cooking. WuXian was better at this than he was.
no subject
WuXian pauses when he realizes he's fallen into the usual habits of 'too spicy' and shakes his head at himself before pulling away to pick up the book he'd dropped in his excitement at getting his husband back.
Except...Well. That's an easy fix, isn't it?
"...Lan Zhan," he pipes up when he straightens, walking back to get back to work. "Some pretty strange things happen with this train. You ready for it?"
no subject
"Strange things? What sort of strange things?"

Chores
"I can't eat anything here. Why am I helping?"
no subject
"It has been asked that we help. Others are doing chores to make our lives a bit easier as well."
He would willingly do it since others were making his day easier as well.
"Why can you not eat the food?"
no subject
"Because I'm Kabaneri. I need blood."
no subject
"Kaba...neri? I can't say that I have ever heard of this before. Your kind feeds on blood?"
Said the person wearing almost all white who looked like he'd never even seen dirt before, let alone blood.
no subject
She's going to have to... explain this to EVERYONE isn't she, why does no one else know this.
"Kabane need blood."
no subject
"Any specific blood required?"
He's not sure to obtain such a thing, but he was at least curious enough to ask.
no subject
Can she move to your world.
"No?" She shrugs. "I only need a little! You could cut yourself and I can drink from that. But Ikoma says it's probably safer if we don't touch you, just in case."
no subject
Sorry, WangJi was not much into physical contact even in the best of situations. If she really had no other choice, he would likely assist, but not immediately in this situation and not while wearing his white robes.
"Why can you not touch?"
no subject
"We might spread the infection, Ikoma says." She shrugs. "I thought we could only do that if we bit! But Ikoma thinks it might be in the saliva, so it's best if we try not to touch when we drink."
no subject
"This 'infection'... it is specific to the Kabaneri? Or is it something else?"
no subject
"We have the kabane virus in our blood, Ikoma says. Our bodies are kabane bodies, but our minds are human. That's what makes us kabaneri."
no subject
Then it was something localized to them. So unless they deliberately spread it, then others didn't have to worry about it, even though this Ikoma seemed to have some thoughts on how it spread.
"That is good then."
