Test Drive Meme 009
1. Post with your character. I’ve written out some prompts but feel free to make up your own, you have a whole train to play with!
2. Assume they have been around long enough for threads to jump right into the action!
3. Have much fun!
Happy testing!
Dining Car
Situated above the kitchen the dining car has a large wooden table stretching the length of the carriage. Two long wooden benches run either side of it. At meal times it is inevitably crowded, chaotic and noisy without a doubt.
Try not to jostle your fellow diners as you navigate inter-universe table manners. Or is waiting better? Eating before or after everyone else so that you can eat in relative peace an entire table length from the next nearest person.
Or are you the rebel who starts a food fight?
Chores
Chores are part of life on board the Voidtrecker Express. Each team is assigned a task each month: Cleaning kitchen and bathrooms, cleaning bedrooms and passenger areas, laundry and cooking.
Obviously the only thing enforcing these chores in a passengers own conscience and their fellow travellers.
Are you diligent or do you shirk? Do you try swapping your tasks with someone else? Or just outright bribing someone to do your work for you? Work together to get the task done or try and persuade a lazy team member to pull their weight.
Snow Way!
In a small village a copy-cat of the supervillain Professor Chill has struck! She has no weather machine but holds the same ability to control snow- and seems to be using natural winter to attack the village.
Team One
The village is being attacked by snowmen and ice golems. Magically animated ice creatures that attack with sticks and claws. Protect the village by fighting off the snow creatures!
Team Two
Many of the village have tried to escape through a mountain pass. Go and help them evacuate. Fend off monsters, carry children or luggage. Help the villagers through the snowdrifts.
Team Three
Our villain seems as fond of puns as her predecessor and finding her is made either easier or harder by the trail of clues left by her. Clues consist of puns, ice riddles and snow facts. Solve the clues and track her down to bring her to justice.
Snowball fight!
Of course once the monsters and villain have been defeated there is some time to have fun in the snow. If anyone can stand the sight of it any more. Snowballs, snow angels and snowmen (the non animated kind) are yours for the making.
Have fun!

aww
so sorry work is really busy
Finishing off her cup, she turns her back and pulls her jacket down, revealing the glowing heart in her chest.
"Once that forms, the human is dead, and only the kabane remains, unless you know how to make a kabaneri."
It's fine. Work happens
"I see. So everyone infected will have that."
<3
She shrugs the jacket back on. "It's also what makes them hard to kill. You have to pierce the Iron Cage - and most ordinary bullets can't do that, unless you can hit the same spot multiple times in a row."
no subject
He'd heard about a lot of things, but never something that changed people so much. To be fair, death in their world could create ghosts, but those were vengeful spirits.
no subject
"Ikoma says, it's not really iron, or it wouldn't be that hard to pierce. But he's not sure what it is, exactly. But the jet bullets are strong enough to go through in one hit, so we can kill them easier, now."
no subject
Both to potentially and try the infected from spreading and, excluding this illness, to try and keep people safe from being attacked so they could potentially not have to travel around in a machine anymore.
apologises forever for the slow
It's fine. I must apologize too
He didn't say it judgementally, more out of curiosity. He wondered if he somehow became a fierce corpse like Wen Ning or Song Lan, which was theoretically impossible but perhaps still possible if they had received the same ceremony most cultivator children did, what he would miss most.
<3
"I miss real food. And we can't grow rice in Yamato because of the Kabane. Open fields, you see. I haven't had rice in forever!"
no subject
Yes, he knew all about how rice grew since that was a staple. Not that he had ever had any hand in growing it since he was gentry and that was beneath his station, but one could see it.
"I... don't know what I would miss."
no subject
"And being kabaneri, I can't eat food anyway."
She tips her head. "Maybe you would miss food too?"
no subject
And yet... it was his job to cook. Go figure.
no subject
"I like tea." She nods. "Can still drink it!"
Which they didn't realise until after Biba, but NOW THAT THEY DO... something other than blood and water thank kami.
"Why's that? Don't you season your food?"
no subject
The quest is not unexpected.
"Gusu Lan is considered by many in the cultivation world to be a strict sect. When I was growing up, we had three thousand rules for how we should manage our lives. Food is necessary for survival. Taking too much enjoyment in it would be focusing too much on one's own self. Vices, of any sort, are something to be avoided."
no subject
She considers that. "Kabane don't eat either." She says thoughtfully.
"Except for blood, that is. I suppose that's why kabaneri can't eat real food."
"That sounds very complicated. Also kinda boring?"
no subject
At the comment about his sect, "It is the life I grew up in. It was what I knew. Disciples from other sects... have called it boring."
no subject
She thinks about that. "So can you kill them then, if they're already dead?"
She wrinkles her nose. "I think I'd have found it boring too. But now..."
Now she'd take literally anything - blood and water is... well it's not starving. But...
no subject
"It is a strict life, but we train many talented disciples. My son is among them."
no subject
And then there's the Black Smoke but that's a whole nother thing.
"You're a dad?" She stares. "But you don't look much older than me!"
Mumei, you're like. FIFTEEN.
no subject
There was the faintest smile when she said that. "I have likely seen your age twice over. Cultivation slows normal aging. Practicing cultivators do not look the same age as those without cultivation abilities of the same year."
no subject
She goggles at him.
"You mean you're old?"
no subject
That got a surprised look from him.
"Old? Only moderately so. My uncle is still older than I am. My son is sixteen."
no subject
Sadly, there aren't a lot of old people LEFT in Hi-no-moto. There's those too old to have gone to the Shogun's war twenty years ago, and those too young, and very, very, few in between.
"Still old." She opinions. "You gotta be like. FOURTY at least!"
no subject
He just couldn't imagine such a thing.
