Test Drive Meme 009
1. Post with your character. I’ve written out some prompts but feel free to make up your own, you have a whole train to play with!
2. Assume they have been around long enough for threads to jump right into the action!
3. Have much fun!
Happy testing!
Dining Car
Situated above the kitchen the dining car has a large wooden table stretching the length of the carriage. Two long wooden benches run either side of it. At meal times it is inevitably crowded, chaotic and noisy without a doubt.
Try not to jostle your fellow diners as you navigate inter-universe table manners. Or is waiting better? Eating before or after everyone else so that you can eat in relative peace an entire table length from the next nearest person.
Or are you the rebel who starts a food fight?
Chores
Chores are part of life on board the Voidtrecker Express. Each team is assigned a task each month: Cleaning kitchen and bathrooms, cleaning bedrooms and passenger areas, laundry and cooking.
Obviously the only thing enforcing these chores in a passengers own conscience and their fellow travellers.
Are you diligent or do you shirk? Do you try swapping your tasks with someone else? Or just outright bribing someone to do your work for you? Work together to get the task done or try and persuade a lazy team member to pull their weight.
Snow Way!
In a small village a copy-cat of the supervillain Professor Chill has struck! She has no weather machine but holds the same ability to control snow- and seems to be using natural winter to attack the village.
Team One
The village is being attacked by snowmen and ice golems. Magically animated ice creatures that attack with sticks and claws. Protect the village by fighting off the snow creatures!
Team Two
Many of the village have tried to escape through a mountain pass. Go and help them evacuate. Fend off monsters, carry children or luggage. Help the villagers through the snowdrifts.
Team Three
Our villain seems as fond of puns as her predecessor and finding her is made either easier or harder by the trail of clues left by her. Clues consist of puns, ice riddles and snow facts. Solve the clues and track her down to bring her to justice.
Snowball fight!
Of course once the monsters and villain have been defeated there is some time to have fun in the snow. If anyone can stand the sight of it any more. Snowballs, snow angels and snowmen (the non animated kind) are yours for the making.
Have fun!

Then it was something localized to them. So unless they deliberately spread it, then others didn't have to worry about it, even though this Ikoma seemed to have some thoughts on how it spread.
"That is good then."

WangJi held a very strong sense of justice. It was admirable to him that others were willing to fight where possible, even if it was only a small group and not something larger.

He may not necessarily seem like it at the moment, but he was quite formidable.
"Your brother sounds to be wise."

She sobers, a sad look in her eyes.
"He...he took care of me, when my station was swallowed. But... "
But he turned her into a weapon, as he did all the other girls, used her and discarded her, all for the sake of his revenge.
"He lied to me." She says softly. "He wasn't wrong about being strong. But Ikoma and Kajika and the rest of the Kotetsujo, they taught me there's a better way."

His own brother had taken good care of him, had always supported him. Ever since he could remember, he'd had XiChen on his side. Even when he did something against their sect in the name of the person he loved, XiChen was willing to take him back with appropriate punishment of course and help sweep it under the proverbial rug so no one who hadn't been there didn't know what he had done.
Not that he regretted it. He would do it again if he had the choice. But XiChen still had made it so the juniors and younger disciples didn't know.
"It is good you found others."

Even though he DID name her "nothing"

"I am Lan WangJi."
no subject
"Nice to meetcha, Lan WangJi! You sure you can't spare me a bit?"
no subject
"I can handle it, Maiden."
Since she had not told him her name.
no subject
She blinks. "I'm Mumei, not Maiden."
no subject
He was quiet a moment after that before answering. "What would that entail?"
He hadn't completely agreed, but he was willing to consider.
"Maiden is a proper way of referring to a young woman where I am from."
no subject
"Oooooh." She nods. "Like how Lady Ayame talks! All polite. You're noble, then?"
no subject
He wasn't going to cut himself with a knife used for food, but he had Bichen sitting nearby. It was easy enough to cut his finger just enough. The good thing about cultivators healing quickly.
He gave a single nod. "I am the second master of Gusu Lan. My brother is the sect leader."
no subject
Mumei obligingly fetches him a cup to use.
"Whoa, that sounds important. Does your world have Stations and Master Keys too?"
no subject
He was genuinely curious if they had anything similar in their world even if they weren't called by the same name.
But he did step away from the cooking, moving to pick up his sword. Without even touching the handle, the sword unsheathed a few inches, which was plenty. With that, he nicked his finger on the blade, not even flinching before moving his hand over the cup, letting the blood drip slowly into it.

"Stations are where people stay - we need the walls to keep the Kabane out. But because space is limited, the Stations rely on trade - so the Iron Fortresses travel from Station to Station, and the Nobles hold the Master Key to start the engines."
no subject
"We don't have anywhere specific. Homes and villages have safeguards against ghosts, such as the step into the courtyard since ghosts cannot lift their feet high enough to cross the barrier. No Iron Fortresses or keys."
no subject
"It sounds really nice." She says wistfully. "We don't have ghosts, only Kabane. They can't swim, so all the stations have moats, but if you don't have a wall, then it isn't safe. The Iron Fortressess are the only way to move around."
no subject
They sounded rather dangerous to him, but then again, dangerous was subjective. He considered danger to himself differently than he did to normal people. This sounded dangerous to non-cultivators.
no subject
"I mean, they tend to stick to places with people, because they're always hungry. So if you're quick and clever and lucky, MAYBE you could make it between stations without the Iron Fortresses? Ikoma and Kurusu did it once, but they didn't go from one station to another, just from the train lines. But no one would let you in anyway, just in case you were carrying the virus."
no subject
I meant *along* the train lines damnit
"Yep!" She nods. "The slow infections are the worst, because without a kabaneri you wouldn't know someone's infected until the Iron Cage forms and they try to eat you."
