Test Drive Meme 006
1. Post with your character. I’ve written out some prompts but feel free to make up your own, you have a whole train to play with!
2. Assume they have been around long enough for threads to jump right into the action!
3. Have much fun!
Happy testing!
Void Trecking
The thing about being on a train hurtling through void space is there’s not much to see. Outside the window lies an endless void of kaleidoscope colours shifting and swirling. It’s probably best not to stare at it too long. Do so and you might start to imagine order in it. Shapes, places, even figures. But your eyes shift... Back to chaos. Probably best you do something else other than stare out the window. Or convince your fellow passengers that void watching leads to headaches!
Relaxing
The newest carriage to be added to the Voidtrecker Express is a rock garden. In a glass domed carriage, flickering with the light of the void the rock garden is a peaceful and medative space, full of mosaics, a pond, fountains and small stony bridges.
It's also the closest to an outside space you have and so is likely to be used for less than peacful activities. Splash in the rivers, race around the paths. Or try and relax on a bench and read amongst the chaos.
Goblin Town
Goblins riding wolves, everyone's favourite foe. The wolves fly, obviously and the goblins fight with short spears, almost like knights on horseback if the knights were terrifying and demonic looking. They are causing trouble by harassing a small village.
Team One
Fight the goblins. A handful of weapons have been provided but mostly you need to try and outsmart the goblins. They can come from any direction, including up. Try and keep the village safe from their attacks.
Team Two
Protect the villagers, help them barricade their houses. Deal with any goblins that get through team one's defences. Some of the villagers want to help and that's alright, some of the villagers want to help and are still in single digits, that's probably less alright. Keep everyone safe!
Team Three
The thing with sieges is, some things still need to happen. People still need to eat. Babies need fed and looked after. Animals need tended. Try and help with the logistics of everything in the heart of the village, as far away from the fighting as possible.
Pick a team, go wild!
Will Stanton | The Dark is Rising
Will winces as he happens to glance out the window. The sight of the void disturbed him in a way he could not put in words. And if he wished to avoid a terrible headache it was probably best to step away now. Rubbing at his forehead and shielding his eyes, he moves into the center of the car.
One would think, Will thinks to himself, that something such as this would not bother him. In his own world he knew the way to the hidden paths behind the stars and he had ridden on a comet's tail.
But something in the void... There was a wrongness in it, although he could not say whether the wrongness was in himself or in the void.
2. Team One
Will was presented with a rather difficult problem.
His purpose now was to be the Watchman. He was to watch. Watch, and not interfere. For the world belonged to men now, and it had never been the Light's purpose to influence their decisions.
But this wasn't his world. And the village was being attacked by creatures who, while not of the Dark, were clearly of a dark.
What was his purpose here? Why had the Light sent him here?
And in the end, the decision is taken away from him, as a goblin leaps out at him in an obvious attack. Will frowns vaguely at it and mutters a word of the Old Speech under his breath, calling up a bright clear flame to his hand in defense.

"Sorry? What is a spell card, if you don't mind my asking."

She threw the card into the air where it broke into several peaces and formed as a giant suit of armor more than twice as tall as she was and proportionally broad to have been worn by someone muscular. She pointed to the Goblins. "We're trying to stop those from hurting anyone."
The armor gave a small grunt and a nod and then waded out into the chaos. "That is a summons."

"This is magic also?" Only because it was not a form of magic he was familiar with... and he had read the stories of every form of magic in his own world.
changed for different icons?
Changing to a new journal!
Cool!

"Will you be alright?"

Team One~
"Actual magic! That's real cool."

He blinks at the older boy. If he'd ever thought about it, he supposes that that wouldn't have been quite the reaction he expected.
"Actual magic? I suppose it is."
no subject
"Doesn't exist on my world." He says cheerfully, and shoot another goblin with a card.
"Or well. It might Akako is a witch and... she's pretty convincing. But she's literally the only person I know with actual real magic and not stage tricks."

A quick look around and Kaito jogs over to retrieve his cards - he's only GOT the one deck, after all.
"Why's that?"
no subject
"Once, long ago, men lived among magic as fish live in water and as birds fly in the air. In those days magic was simply called knowing, for that has always been it's source. But men forgot and magic slipped into the forgotten places of the world." A pause. "And the world belongs to humans now. There is little place for magic."

Kaito swivels around and stares at him.
"That's dumb." He says flatly.

Kaito wrinkles his nose.
"Still dumb." He opinions. "All my world has got is Akako and... she's... um. Special." HAHAHAHAsob

Void Trecking
He'd been to places that were something like this in the past, but not even the Dark Umbra gave him the heebie jeebies like this place did. He did his best to ignore it, and even tugged up the hood on his hoodie, but not even that did enough to distract him.
He leaned forward, lacing his fingers together, and cleared his throat at the young man.
"Place could use more in the way of distractions, I wager." Even though currently, he was trying to be a distraction, himself.

"I've heard there are a great many games available, but it doesn't seem like quite enough."

Bran supposed he could always try getting a musical instrument, but he didn't have the points for that, either, and Gaia, Helios, or Raven hadn't seen fit to send one with him when he'd ended up here. Not that the latter two weren't fickle anyway...
"I thought I was all right in a city, and there were plenty of people there, but there are a number here, and now I feel like I'm living in a sardine can. Not something I recommend, I tell you."
