Void Trecking

The thing about being on a train hurtling through void space is there’s not much to see. Outside the window lies an endless void of kaleidoscope colours shifting and swirling. It’s probably best not to stare at it too long. Do so and you might start to imagine order in it. Shapes, places, even figures. But your eyes shift... Back to chaos. Probably best you do something else other than stare out the window. Or convince your fellow passengers that void watching leads to headaches!

Relaxing

The newest carriage to be added to the Voidtrecker Express is a rock garden. In a glass domed carriage, flickering with the light of the void the rock garden is a peaceful and medative space, full of mosaics, a pond, fountains and small stony bridges.

It's also the closest to an outside space you have and so is likely to be used for less than peacful activities. Splash in the rivers, race around the paths. Or try and relax on a bench and read amongst the chaos.

Goblin Town

Goblins riding wolves, everyone's favourite foe. The wolves fly, obviously and the goblins fight with short spears, almost like knights on horseback if the knights were terrifying and demonic looking. They are causing trouble by harassing a small village.

Team One

Fight the goblins. A handful of weapons have been provided but mostly you need to try and outsmart the goblins. They can come from any direction, including up. Try and keep the village safe from their attacks.

Team Two

Protect the villagers, help them barricade their houses. Deal with any goblins that get through team one's defences. Some of the villagers want to help and that's alright, some of the villagers want to help and are still in single digits, that's probably less alright. Keep everyone safe!

Team Three

The thing with sieges is, some things still need to happen. People still need to eat. Babies need fed and looked after. Animals need tended. Try and help with the logistics of everything in the heart of the village, as far away from the fighting as possible.

Will allows a certain amount of confusion to show as he draws the flames back into a small flicker cupped in his hands.

"Sorry? What is a spell card, if you don't mind my asking."

There was a pause, where she was clearly waiting for someone else to answer, then sadness on her face as the answer failed to come. She sighed. "A card that gives a spell rather than an item or a summons." A card she was expressly forbidden from using. For... reasons.

"I see. I don't think I've ever heard of something like that before." Wills own magic came by right of birth and knowledge. "What are items and summons?"

She hesitated, considering, then looked over the goblins and brightened. "Here! I can show you!" She reached back behind her and the cards she was holding slid into a pack behind her and two cards floated to her hands. "Let's keep these people safe, KNIGHT!"

She threw the card into the air where it broke into several peaces and formed as a giant suit of armor more than twice as tall as she was and proportionally broad to have been worn by someone muscular. She pointed to the Goblins. "We're trying to stop those from hurting anyone."

The armor gave a small grunt and a nod and then waded out into the chaos. "That is a summons."

Will could honestly say that he had never seen anything remotely similar to this before. For a moment he wonders what Merriman would have thought.

"This is magic also?" Only because it was not a form of magic he was familiar with... and he had read the stories of every form of magic in his own world.

"Of course! These are pieces of the Culdcept." Then she blinked and winced. "Ah.... and I'm not supposed to tell anyone I'm a Cepter. Don't suppose it can stay our little secret?"

Will shakes his head. "I don't know what either of those things are. But either way, I can promise not to mention it to anyone." He smiles, but with a certain amount of melancholy. "I'm rather good at keeping secrets these days."

"Thanks! Hey I know, after this, we should find something to eat! Always best to make friends over a good meal." she licked her lips. "But I probably should get out there and help Knight. You need a shield?"

"I should be okay, I would think." He didn't know for certain, but he did know a few spells for shields. If he needed them.

"Will you be alright?"

"Oh of course. I'll be with Thunderbeak and Knight. And Cair Sith can lend a hand if they start throwing spells."
