April Information and CR meme!
We hope everyone had a fun month! Some information for your ongoing journey.
IC Month
The Train
On platform day the train shop will be updated with Large Animals purchasable for 180 points. This can be any creature as long as they can fit on the train comfortably. In some cases the creature can be larger if they can be contained (e.g pokemon with pokeballs).
If there is worry about where these large creatures will live, it won't last long. When passengers return to the train after the platform, they will find a new carriage.
The Stable & Kennels carriage is a double carriage. On the first floor, there is a set of stairs to one side, and a fence that opens up to six stables. On the side without stairs are two large cupboards, filled with brushes, shovels and buckets. Food and bedding can also be stored here, but those as well as feed must be bought. You must go through the aisle to get to the other side of the carriage.
Upstairs are where the kennels are kept, stacked crates. There are also smaller crates for smaller animals to be put in, and this area is laid out the same as the stables. In one corner (inside the fencing) is a washing station that can be walked into, and a door closed behind. It's a tight fit and very basic with a hose that gives hot and cold water and a simple blow-dryer. There is a small rack of brushes to one side, but anything more fancy or specific will need to be bought.
It's a simple set-up, and any bigger animals that can't fit on the grooming station will need to be worked on inside a spare stable. There are some clips for harnesses and leashes to be attached if necessary.
We realise this was a carriage in the voting pool- but we needed somewhere for the animals! On the voting pool it will be reclassified as an upgrade with a new cost and if met will mean the carriage will be upgraded with the suggestions characters gave and made more fancy!
Monthly Plotting
IC Month
This month is the month of Quicksand. Days can be found here.
The thought of the month is "I would rather walk with a friend in the dark, than alone in the light."
This means: Any thread where you tag new CR will earn you two bonus points in March and April.
Threads that fulfil this criteria can be submitted during April AC. You may find it easier to keep a tracking list of threads for easy compiling of bonus AC.
The ingredient of the month is pineapple. Recipes are here. All the ingredients can be found in the storeroom, refreshed at the platform, and characters are welcome to make other food with them.
This month’s chore assignments are:

Feedback
Thank you for everyone who took time to reply to our request for feedback on the new mission system.
~ Overall, we heard that you liked the new system with the multiple specific goals for each team, and that it made it easier to decide what you wanted to do and plan for threads. There was some feedback that it was hard to match prompts in the IC post to the task, and we will make sure we keep the order simpler and clearer so everyone knows which task is which in the future.
~ Check Ins: It was felt that having a check in/thread hand-in before ongoing was a bit too tight timewise and was stressful for those who were later in joining. It was also pointed out that our ongoing in this mission didn't really add anything new. This was more because we were testing out the new system. In future missions, we are going to ask for check-ins only once: before the finale. Ongoing will be used only for adding extra prompts and challenges for those who want more to do, since ongoing has always been an optional extra.
~ Consequences: There was some concern about the idea that tasks could fail or have overly harsh consequences for tasks not being completed. There was concern that this would hit those who weren't able to tag a lot on the missions and could lead to ooc problems between players. We would like to publicly reassure everyone about this.
Our aim was to give people more of a chance to feel like they were contributing and feel involved even if they weren't able to tag a lot. So if your character would be doing six tasks and you only had chance to thread one, they would still be contributing to the other five with your check-in. Having the check-ins gives us a better oversight, so we could take people's efforts into consideration without having to read every mission thread.
We know there was some upset about the dralites in ongoing, and we would like to apologise for that. It seemed a natural thing for the wildlife to be in peril considering the mission itself and the player plot that caused some destruction, rather than it being some kind of punishment for a task not being completed. However we will be more mindful in future.
If there ever is going to be a serious consequence for failure, we will make sure it is obviously signposted beforehand and that that task would be highlighted as the most important. However we do not plan to have harsh consequences or situations where characters would fail. We aren't here to make you guys feel bad or guilty!
Finally it should go without saying that if there was ever a case where people were oocly giving others grief about what tasks they did or did not do, then that is something you should bring to us straight away and it would not be tolerated.
~ Boss Battles: We also want to reassure you that there will still be a space for missions with big boss battles! Not all missions lend themselves to having a big bad at the end and we wanted to make sure the noncombatant characters get time to shine too! But there will definitely be more big fights in the future.
~ TL;DR: Outside of the new system we got some feedback that our missions and events have gotten a bit word-heavy and bogged down in detail lately, making them hard to read and harder to follow. This is something we will be working on: in making missions more concise, easier to read and simpler to pick out the key information.
Once again thank you to all who left us feedback. It was good to hear what you were enjoying and wanted to see more of as well as what you were struggling with or disliked. Our new system feedback post is still open if anyone else wants to leave comments and as ever the mods can be approached on mod contact or personally on discord or plurk.
Other Info
~ As mentioned last month, this month marks us entering 'chapter 5' of the game plot. This chapter will be a little different than those that came before because it will not follow the mission-event-mission pattern so strictly. There will still be a good mix of both type of events, though, and we will always let you know at the beginning of the month which to expect. This is just to help with the flow of things.
~ There will be lots of places for characters to get involved with plot both big and small, but if you ever have an idea (or want to get involved and are unsure how) then please come chat to a mod or leave us a comment on shenanigans!
~ Likewise if you are someone who is involved in organising for a team please make sure the information about teams and who to chat to in order to be involved in that is up to date on the initiatives page. Please make sure it is clear how newer characters can get involved and who best to chat to both IC and OOC!
~ The roster has been updated with points for this month.
~ We have been trying to do EMP regularly! Please let us know any castmates you would like in the thread below!
Important Dates
This month’s event will run from the 16th to 23rd of April, although please note that it will only last one IC day.
The TDM will be posted on the 17th. Reserves will open on the 19th. Apps and AC are between the 22nd and the 29th April.
For a reference, please consult our calendar post. For player-led events, please see the player plot calendar.

Questions?
Characters Wanted!
no subject
Who we have: Jolyne Cujoh, Emporio Alniño
Who we want: Anyone! Of course we have a bias for part 6, and an equal bias for Jotaro, but anyone from the series would be celebrated!
Re: Characters Wanted!
Who we have: Lea, Xion, Kairi, Vexen (KH 3 version)
Who we want: Roxas, Isa, any members of Team Protagonist, anyone from the Radiant Garden crew. Characters from Union X like Ephemer or the Foretellers would be interesting also.
Re: Characters Wanted!
Who we have: Nia
Who we want: Rex, Mórag, Zeke, any of the main Drivers or Blades, really, from main story or Torna.
Re: Characters Wanted!
Who we have: Thomas Price
Who we want: Look, anyone. Thomas would like his family, including ones he hasn't met, but anyone from his Earth would be great. (He's still pre-Splunking Through Hell, so anyone who knows his family will be grilled.)
no subject
Who we have: Cipher Nine
Who we want: Anyone and everyone. Theron Shan, Lana Beniko, Arcann, Lord Cytharat, the Agent's crew, Darth Jadus, any of the other protags are especially loved, but seriously would love to see anyone at all.
Re: Characters Wanted!
Who we have: Bruno Madrigal
Who we want: Any of the other Madrigals
no subject
Contact info: DM me here, or Discord (Titallenial#7701)
Character: Roland Crane
About them: Isekai'd President of an alternate U.S.; older guy in a younger body trope who serves as the righthand man of a catboy king in the other world. Currently a train denizen trying to get himself and others like him properly home. Very organized. Secretly a bit of a movie buff nerd. Writes in his journal often. Well-groomed to a tee. (Other relevant info can be found in his journal.)
Plans: He's trying to write a children's book. As you can imagine, statesmen don't necessarily make the best storybook writers, lol. He'll probably ask for help filling those pages in as a personal project. Otherwise, he's ready for work as always. Has anyone audited the pineapples yet? Okay, he'll get to it.
CR wanted: Any and all!
Things to avoid: Nothing comes to mind right now.

Stareyes's Characters
Contact info:
Zelgadis Greywords
About them: Mercenary sorcerer-swordsman who spent years transformed into a chimera. Folks on the train fixed that a few months ago, and then they left and his grandfather (who was the one who originally transformed him) showed up.
Plans: Grandpa Dearest may or may not be carrying a very powerful demon sealed within him. Zelgadis is willing to work with his grandfather to deal with that problem. Other than that, Zel is pretty much taking days as they come.
CR wanted: I'm good with anything.
Things to avoid: Nothing comes to mind.

Re: Stareyes's Characters
About them: Raised in a secret order of monster hunters, but left when he realized they were the bad guys. Made a dubious bargain to a powerful assholish being for the life of his future-wife and got trapped in his house for a decade before he was yeeted to a dying world.
A sorcerer, and older than he looks. Technically worshipped as a god by his wife's colony of intelligent mice. His best friend was a ghost, but they haven't had a chance to chat in decades, because she was trapped working for the powerful assholish being.
Plans: Look, it's Thomas's first month. He's going to be getting used to having a well-stocked kitchen and being around humans. Once he does, he's going to be learning all he can about void travel. Because if the train can get him (or a part of him) out of a dimension that is supposed to be escape-proof, he can get everyone there out. Then he can go back to his Earth and learned what happened to his family over the last 50 years.
CR wanted: Fellow nerds (in addition to the magic, Thomas has made an extensive study of the flora and fauna of his Earth), people who are also older than teens/20 sometimes to be friends.
Things to avoid: While Thomas doesn't know for sure if his wife is even still alive[1], he's made it clear that until he does, he's married. So no shipping.
[1] It's been fifty years, and in the decade he did have with her, Alice showed she was quite willing to jump into dangerous situations and nearly die. (As it happens, she is alive and looking for him, but Thomas doesn't know that.)

Character: Thrawn
About them: A brilliant tactician and military genius who can observe even the smallest most inconsequential details about a single person all the way up to an entire culture...but is a socially awkward weirdo when it comes to any interaction outside the military. As you can imagine, he's struggling a bit on the train and can be super offensive without meaning to be. Oop, ETA; his his observations post
Plans: Only thing I have is to put up a general log post tomorrow so it will count for April. Otherwise, I'm wide open c:
CR wanted: Friends. Specifically what would seem like the polar opposite to him; younger, smaller (well everyone is smaller than him at 7'5") outgoing, cheerful people.
no subject
Will definitely be wrangling short, blue, & stabby here Thrawn's way once you toss the log up. It'd be fun if they could eventually manage to be friends, but we shall have to see on that one.

Knux's Cast of Characters
Contact info:
Usagi Tsukino
About them: An alternate version of Usagi where only she and Minako awoken to battle the Dark Kingdom. She also rejected the idea of a reincarnation romance and went off to do her own thing in that way.
Plans: Not much so far, Usagi is probably going to dive back into labs to do more experimentations and such. She's easily becoming a one-person Madoka Magica character thanks to Kyoko :P
CR wanted: Any and all! Come at me!
Things to avoid: Just relationships - she doesn't want to upset Kyoko
Nozomi Yumehara
Ruby Rose
Mina Mongoose
LiLi + her weird glowing elf (Orange)
Contact info:
Character: Lioriley
★TLDR INFO
★PERMISSIONS
Lioriley is a talented Lunari mage specializing in alchemy (water) and mending (healing) magics. Like all Lunari she was born on a magical place of power that gave her enhanced magical abilities and the glowing lines on her skin that pulse with her heartbeat, and react to her moods by dimming or brightening. She is gentle and motherly and a huge nerd who wants to learn as much as she can about everyone and everything she comes across. Her past is littered with death and disaster but she heaves her own burdens without complaint to others while taking on their problems too. Could definitely kick ass but chooses not to.
Plans:
★ Since the rescue mission in February, Lioriley has been keeping a detailed log of passengers. It's essentially a hard copy of the roster, but with added personal notes and not mandatory for people to even acknowledge or contribute to. She does intend to keep up with it however, and may be inclined to approach new people to get their name and note their team color, along with any other information they are willing to provide. If you would prefer she not know something OR would like to use this as a stepping stone for CR, please feel free to tell me either way. She's just keeping track of people to assure no one is left behind or goes missing without notice, and generally just wants to keep a personal headcount and OOCly I do not want to personally intrude on anyone's plans or whatever.
★ She will also be trying to do a headcount for orange team on missions, and the same goes for this as said above. HMU if you do or do not wanna participate or just don't care either way.
★ She's is a common face in the medical and library cars, and very rarely in her cabin unless forced to do a sleep. She offers medical assistance and is happy to converse with anyone that approaches her.
CR wanted:
★ Friends!
★ Fellow scholars/nerds
★ Fellow magic users and magical people (human or non! she does not care what you are but if you have magic she wants to know about it)
★ People she can adopt and mom at
★ I'm not gunning for negative CR but I'm also not against it if it develops naturally. Good luck though you really got to be a piece of shit to get on her bad side.
Things to avoid: don't murder her or whatever. also im tentatively saying no romance because she has a crush on some dipshit already so lets see how that pans out.

Character: Rezo Greywords
About them: Healer, mage, and mad scientist from a D&D-esque world with a demon thing stuck in his soul. Blind and fixated on that. Kind of ambiguous just how much of his villainous acts are him and how much are due to the aforementioned demon thing. I'm playing him as more of an ex-villain than outright malicious, and in practice that means in some situations he's genuinely kind of nice and then in others he's kind of an asshole, so it's like a fun roulette wheel where you either get the side of him that earned a saint's reputation or you have him being an irritating weirdo.
Plans: Rezo is currently under the misapprehension that he still has a very powerful demon thing in him and wants to deal with that. He is going to be looking for people who have really strong offensive magic and now also people who have magic/psychic sensitivity that means they might be able to tell if Shabranigdu starts stirring. Zelgadis is probably going to be dragged into helping him on this, which is going to be really awkward on both of them but especially Zelgadis.
Other than that he's alternating his time between doing stuff the train assigns him (which, during the downtime between missions, is currently laundry duty) or studying stuff about voidspace and the tethers, or the medicine and technology aboard the train that is more advanced than the stuff from his home world.
CR wanted: I'm enjoying trying to get a mixture of negative and positive CR for him. Besides people who can help him with the potential Shabranigdu probablem (although he is going to avoid telling anyone the truth about his situation if possible) he'll be interested in talking shop with other medicine and magic nerds.
Things to avoid: Please make sure to read his permissions so you know what you're getting into. He is also the dipshit that Lioriley has a crush on because I have a weakness for playing problematic love interests. Overall though he's still new enough that I'm just trying to forge solid CR wherever I can get it.

Character: Cipher Nine (Aden Nahain)
About them: Former(?) member of the Chiss Ascendancy's secret police who left the Ascendancy to assist his people by working for Imperial Intelligence instead. Started on the bottom and clawed his way up through some unimaginable bullshit, only to go through more bullshit up to and including killing SWTOR's version of basically Satan. Currently he's acting as Keeper for Imperial Intelligence aka the one giving the orders and is besties 5ever with the current Emperor, despite having killed the former Emperor and kind of sort of is the reason why the former Empress died too. Oops. Guess he has a trustworthy face though.
Has a bit of a broken moral compass, is snarky and standoffish, but ultimately not applicable for the The Worst award.
Plans: Nothing specific as of yet besides what he's been up to already. Hoping to get him to a point of opening up a bit more to people, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Whether or not he'll cooperate on that is anyone's guess.
CR wanted: Still mostly positive CR wanted- people he can trust a little bit, enough for that "opening up a bit" point. People who won't shy away from him at his grumpiest would be swell too, since he's mostly been keeping a lid on his worst tendencies and is probably about to explode, lmao.
Things to avoid: Romance is a no-no. He's married.

Character: Senku Ishigami
About them: Senku is the protagonist of the manga/anime Dr. Stone. He's ancient chronologically, but about twenty physically. His claim to fame is speedrunning Civilization in real life. He's been on the train nearly a full year of IC time, as a member of the Orange Team. He does his best to look out for his teammates, he's the type to help make the food before the mission, he works in medical as he's a doctor. He's a scientist by trade, and has a mastery of all the STEM fields. His current project is to investigate the nature of the train, their tethers and his side project is to discover how to make his world void-active. Senku is the kind of person who does not stop.
Plans: Senku's spouse is leaving on this platform so his plan is going to be to keep himself busy. Who needs sleep? He can survive on forced sleep alone. Outside of that he doesn't have a ton of ongoing projects at the moment.
CR wanted: He welcomes all CR, even negative if you want to see if you can rile him up. (Spoiler: You probably can't)
Things to avoid: Senku does not like to be touched or grabbed, especially without permission. Even with permission, he's not thrilled by it.

Character: Eli Vanto
About them: Eli is the former aide for Grand Admiral Thrawn, but has since left the Galactic Empire to serve the Chiss Ascendancy. This makes him the only human member of the Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet. Eli is a math and numbers genius, and he can do things like look at a spreadsheet and immediately see discrepancies.
Plans: Eli's just trying to make himself useful right now, and help out in any way that he can. He's also looking to get back into some hobbies, like playing piano and guitar, and possibly take up some kind of art project.
CR wanted: More friends would be awesome. Perhaps someone he can nerd out with, be it about science, ships, or magic, since Eli's lately found himself fascinated by magic.
Things to avoid: Romance is off the table.
Kia | Ryo and Wash
Contact info:
Character: Ryo
About them: OC, Orange team, sleeper L2:B. Teenage mage and healer who's had a rough life and has only recently gained some self-esteem and started building that backbone. (His world took a perfectly good healer and gave him a tragic backstory and now he has anxiety.) Compassionate and caring with a buried temper. Good at helping; bad at asking for what he needs in turn. Sassy as hell once he starts getting comfortable around you. Please hug him.
Plans: Turns out being home temporarily has left him incredibly homesick and he's still dealing with that! He's trying to make his way out of it, or just not talk about it, and help new people settle in. Plans for him this month will depend largely on what the event is.
CR wanted: He could definitely use more friends his own age! Aside from that, just about anything! Be his friend or adoptive sibling, let him help you or heal you, teach him and be taught in turn, the works. He's figured out his Diagad powers, but he's still up for helping others with theirs, especially new healers. A warning, though: if CR starts out negative, it might not recover; he holds a grudge (Kabuto).
Things to avoid: ICly, nothing; OOCly, just don't go linking me pictures of spiders.
Notes: Please fill out his permissions post!
Character: Agent Washington (Wash)
About them: Space marine from Red vs Blue with CRAU from Balance and Imaginary Island; Purple team, Sleeper U1:D. Special ops agent who got betrayed by his program before it collapsed, had his psyche destroyed by a traumatized AI, rebuilt himself with revenge on the mind, and then completely failed at that revenge and the subsequent revenge on the group of lovable idiots who made his initial revenge plot fail. Got adopted by said group of idiots and is now one of their team leaders, and also a lot more chill about the whole thing. Most recently got pulled into Faerun, learned some magic, helped defeat a dimension-eating entity, and was about to go home when he ended up on platform. He's very happy. (He's not very happy.)
Plans: Wash took to that mission like a duck to water, and he's pretty happy coming away from it. For now, he'll be dealing with people leaving, trying to get new people settled while still being something of a new person himself, and trying to figure out how the train works and what's up with the Void Ministry. He's determined to get off this train and back home, but he also knows that larger endeavors (both bureaucratic and programming, as he's starting to think this one is) take time. Also, he was able to summon his familiar on the mission and bring her back to the train with him, so he's accompanied by a large grey Norwegian Forest cat named Athena. She's friendly, usually.
CR wanted: Anything! People to drink with; people to spar with, people who don't mind a good 2 AM talk; and he has a tendency to adopt kids and give them combat training if need be. Basically anything. :D
Things to avoid: Wash is pretty resilient, but I don't particularly want to break him again; if a thread starts going in that direction, I may ask for a rewrite or a change.
Notes: Please take a look at his permissions post and fill it out if need be!

Character: Faux (CLU AU+CRAU)
About them: An alternate version of the program CLU 1.0 based from the Tron universe, who survived his death from the first 5 minutes of the original movie. Lived through the events of the build up to the next movie, Tron legacy. Was nabbed away to another system, aka, DWRP game Grid_lined, where he wandered around being a nuisance there for a year. He was successfully repaired by a friendly user towards the end of this period. Having been Recovering from being 'brainwashed' for twenty years and change, he was then stolen away again by the Train.
Faux is curious and has a need to scrape as much 'data' he can from his surroundings by either sulking around, or simply keeping an ear open around him. He may not understand what any of that data is, and how it applies to anything, it won't stop him trying. As a program he has minimal understanding on user ways so expect a lot of strange questions or actions to such.
Plans: Faux can read (at least english) however he has found he cannot write. It would be great for some scholarly types to help with that.
He also needs to replenish the stock of Ethers he took during the mission, and deal with the train not giving him enough energy to work with on missions (especially since he's Red Team).
CR wanted: Anything! I'm good with both positive and negative cr.
I'd love for more sciencey programmer types to help him out with the coding side of things. Right now he is primarily relying on potions to repair his damage. If he learns how to code, he could fix himself instead.
Things to avoid: Don't touch his disk, it's a fast-track way to very negative cr; unless that's the plan then in which case, go for it.
OOCly- None.
Notes: Since some subjects apply to him, here is the Permissions and Content Warnings posts.
