Mission: So Familiar a Gleam Ongoing

The next part of the missions is here. Since characters are beginning to break out of their AUs and beginning to try and solve the problem they have found themselves in here is another plotting post! The other one was pretty crowded!

Details of the environment going forward:

For those who can read energy/see through illusions, they will find borders between the different sections of the city. They will be able to gauge it looks more like this.

They will see people 'trapped' in these border parts - specifically, those walking by foot to another section of the city, or those taking air taxis. They can be taken out, but would need to be done so by people who won't be pulled into the strength of the illusion/hypnotism.

While most areas are starting to fall apart, the political/educational sector (the centre of the city) is doing better. People may be taken around there in spare buildings.

Food: It will still be around, but some people will realise - who can see through illusions - that everything has a viscous quality. Shaped to be what it's mimicking, watery if it's a drink. This will become more obvious to everyone by Day 8. It's safe to consume.

Senku wants to try a different tactic.

He wants to come at the illusion itself.

The points between each area has immense power and is a transfer/illusion based system based on questions asked here.

Senku and Gen are not enough to poke holes in this magic hub on their own, with their magic.

Anyone willing to join them?

It'd be good to get a headcount/power coming to the table so it can be given to the mods so they can decide if there is an effect at all, or what the repercussions may be. There may be repercussions.

Senku and Gen are going to try a dispell magic spell on the fly, and it's not terribly strong on a first attempt.

Well he did try and shake Senku down so his actions might be enough to catch his attention and he's actively trying to amass allies so /handwaves/

Essek is willing and able to help. He's got very high level magic and dispel magic himself.

Also, essek is willing to work as a magical conduit for a larger scale dispel magic if other people are willing to ritually empower him with their magic to make like... equate to dnd terms 10th or higher level spell casting.

Oooh, that could be interesting for people who aren't particularly strong themselves. Senku's not going to do that but if anyone else wants to sign up for that that'd be good!

Sweet! Essek can also offer a condensed dispel magic into a bead that anyone nonmagical who wants to help can use. It will be a lower power level than he can cast, but they only need to aim and concentrate and it will cast the spell from the bead.

Extremely belated, sorry, but Jade's interested in helping; it's just the only thing he's good for in this scenario would be to produce a ton of magical energy for someone else to channel into a specific spell. Which... sounds like Essek could make use of. Either for this attempt, or a later one.

Might work well for a later attempt since I already tagged in with Essek just doing normal magic instead of channeled. But! You're welcome to have Jade use the magic bead that Essek has on offer, which is basically Essek froze a casting of Dispel Magic in time and condensed it down to a bead, anyone can use it by concentrating on it, which releases and casts the spell.

Loki will join if his "fake defect back to Diagad authorities to act as a spy" plan doesn't happen and might join anyway even if he is a spy- as long as some other participants agree to be outed if the attempt fails. He has to have something to bring back to his superiors, after all.

Senku, likely by all accounts and metrics is going to come off looking like a ringleader.

I don't know what the consequences for trying will be but provided that's what happens and Loki needs someone to turn over, he can grab Senku.

Loki's become too notorious to be a spy, so if he finds out about the attempt, he'll join and offer advice and his power. The most important piece of advice is: Get ready to run immediately after casting the spell and accept that you'll be hunted as a terrorist.

Leia would like them to hold off poking more holes in the illusion until they have a reasonable exit strategy (AKA, a way to get all of them safely out of wherever it is before it goes poof). But once that's secured, she'll be willing to lend a hand if need be.

Lea will too; a Keyblade's unlocking ability might be helpful in all this.

I think, ultimately, the centre part of the "world" is the safe zone? I'm not sure. If Leia wants to head up that kind of initiative, she's welcome to. She can also come and tell Senku what she thinks if she likes.
