IC Month

This month is still the month of Llama. Days can be found here.

The thought of the month is "With every falling apart, there is a coming together".

This means: Any thread with someone your character has never met before in-game will earn you two bonus points during May and June.

Threads that fulfil this criteria can be submitted during June AC (this month!). You may find it easier to keep a tracking list of threads for easy compiling of bonus AC!

The ingredient of the month is nori. Recipes are here. All the ingredients can be found in the storeroom, refreshed at the platform, and characters are welcome to make other food with them.

This month’s chore assignments are:

Orange: Cleaning bedrooms and passenger areas

The Train

As a reminder, you can list things that characters have added to the train here. Just comment under the header of the carriage you are adding to!

We would also like to give a quick reminder about the two styles of network we have in game. On the train we have the ICPs these can send messages to the whole train or a specific carriage or sleeper cabin. They are video or voice only! For more information on the ICPs please look here

When on missions the character's SCAs work as comm devices, allowing voice chatter and there is always a comm-specific post for that. For more information on the SCAs please look here.

Important Dates

This month’s event will be a train event on the 12th and 13th of June.

The TDM will be posted on the 16th. Reserves will open on the 18th. Apps are between the 22nd and the 29th, and AC will run between the same dates.

Our new players (and old players who want a refresher) might find it useful to read gameplay before the platform. As always the mods are happy to answer any questions you might have.

We're delighted to announce that Ree will be joining the modteam as a mission assistant! This formalises a lot of what she has already been doing the last few months both as an NPC handler and helping with boss battles and other big mission events. It also means there will be a third person available to ask questions about missions and give out further information which should help things run a bit smoother and make sure everyone can be as involved as they wish to be!

Ree also made a shiny premise page too, which can be used to help recruit new players.

About them: Created from the shadow of an evil sorceress, Lena became a real girl through the power of friendship and has come really into her own as a person. She can be snarky and resist authority, but deep down she's a girl who deeply cares about those close to her, and will do what she can to protect them. Also she's part magical girl.
Plans: Lena's still kind of settling in and getting used to the train, so I don't really have anything major planned for her. I'd love to do more with her magic sometime, though.

About them: A teenage girl with the power to rearrange her molecules so she can phase through objects and even float on air. She's sweet and caring, and loves being able to help others, but she's definitely not the kind of person you want to cross.
Plans: Nothing really. She's just hanging and helping out on the train, as always.

Lapis Lazuli | Steven Universe (CRAU)

About them: She's blue. That's it. That's the story.

Okay, no. ;)

Lapis is a Gem -- essentially her core essence/soul/spirit is the lapis lazuli gem between her shoulderblades. She spent thousands of years locked inside a mirror and abandoned by her people after being mistaken for the wrong side during a war, and . . . well, solitary confinement isn't really any better for Gems than it is for humans. ^^; She's still trying to work through a lot of the residuals of that. She has extremely strong hydrokinesis and once stole the ocean to try to get home. It didn't work out. Overall, she's pretty cautious (even wary at times) and quiet, but she is curious and trying to figure out how the world works all over again.

She's a CRAU from Interstellar, so she spent time trying to blend in with a human population as a dancer for a record label while quietly trying to rescue her Very Important Person from having been kidnapped and brainwashed into a musician.

Plans: I'm really hoping to get her out of the pool in the spa and with people more. She also really needs to find some hobbies -- Gems are generally born for a purpose, so the idea will be strange to her, but I think it will help overall with her sense of comfort (and maybe help channel some of those more negative emotions). I'm thinking anything artsy in particular would be great, but honestly, she's curious and could probably be lured to at least try most things.

I'm also hoping to get her something to hold a large amount of water so that she has a supply on missions, since she can't make it herself. The larger the amount, the better as far as she's concerned. Additionally hoping to help her find a spot where she can hole up and be by herself on occasion, because although I do want her out and about, solitary confinement makes too much enforced peopling overwhelming sometimes, and she needs a safe place. I don't know if that's possible in the train, but I guess we'll see. ^^;

CR wanted: Lapis needs to make good, positive connections. She's held herself separate up to this point with the hope that this is temporary, but as time continues to go on, the more she's starting to realize that this might not be temporary. She was pretty attached to the people in her last game, and she needs to realize that these people are also good, she can trust them, and she can make connections. This will help her to adjust and hopefully do some healing.

Things to avoid: Probably really negative CR at this time, but I'm up for most things.

About them: A man with Trauma™ who shows his emotions through anger rather than anything useful. Kind of a disaster, but has a big, loving heart under all the layers of grief and rage and loss. From fantasy China, so can use Cultivation magic and is sometimes kind of a badass. Also Dad™.

Plans: Jiang Cheng is slowly coming to terms with all of the things that have happened to him and all the secrets that were under the surface between himself and what's left of his family, so he's going to be dealing with that for a little while. Also feelings suck, did you know, he's working on those.

He will be getting his sword back, so getting back to training/practice will be the forefront of his mind, as well as checking in with the people he cares about and his family, so watch out, gang, Angry Grape is coming.

CR wanted: More people outside of his cast/canon would be amazing, for friendship or other purposes! He is going around adopting people mostly accidentally, so if your character needs a Dad/Uncle friend he's here for it. Otherwise it'd be pretty easy to generate some negative CR with this dude if you want it!

Things to avoid: N/A for him, other than talking smack to him!

Character: Six - though on the roster she is "Cecilia Rowan", her real name, which she will likely not answer to!

About them: D&D 5e Fighter/Paladin of Sarenrae! Six comes across as a super intimidating soldier type, being really rather strong and muscular. She also isn't very good at getting rid of her resting "I'll kill you" face, so she does seem like she'd just beat you up - but she has a heart of gold and wants nothing more than to help people and do whatever she can to make sure people are taken care of. Her Oath of Devotion means she can offer protection and will be there to be a human shield in the middle of fighting - but it also means that she is 100% devoted to her goddess, Sarenrae, and will be likely to talk about it.

Otherwise, she is polylingual (Celestial, Common, Elven and Draconic), trained in most weapons but most proficient with a greatsword, magical and a sweetie. She's here to kick ass and redeem all the baddies. Six is also a CRAU from the game Fade Rift, where she was part of the Inquisition fighting Corypheus in the Dragon Age Universe. You can find more information about her abilities and so forth here and there's an in-depth information post for her here!

Plans: She is brand new, so adjusting to technology and making herself at home! She will likely be doing a little investigating, but since this isn't the first time she's woken up in a strange new world she'll at least settle a little easier. Friendships are my first priority for her since she needs to have people around her or she drops into a sad state.

CR wanted: Everything! Friends, enemies, sparring partners, etc. She'll take them all.

Things to avoid: N/A for me, but Six will not be able to tolerate anyone drinking around her/smelling of alcohol and she has a short fuse when it comes to abuse of any kind.

About them: Angel (specifically a principality), has been on Earth since it was created, whose job included influencing humans towards "good" and thwarting evil at every turn. In a way, "helped" stop Armaggedon. Has been in a different DWRP world. Right now is mostly just retired and cannot be arsed to do much. He's nice though.

Plans: Now that he and his partner have an adequately private and comfortable room, he's mostly in there reading, binding books, baking, etc. Also can be found in the kitchen, the greenhouse and statue garden cars, library, and cinema car. No real plans for him except hanging around, being weird, eating that good food, reading books, encouraging people to write books so he can read them, hanging out with his demon partner and his train friends.

CR wanted: All of it. Literally. Book nerds specially, or people who would not like him. But all of it.

Things to avoid: Eh, I can't think of anything off the top of my head. But feel free to check the permissions post.

About them: From Saiyuki, a Buddhist high priest whose last memory on his world is his own death to save his adopted son's life. He's a total troll, and loves to act the fool. "I can't tell if you're a genius or a moron" is something that's been said to him more than a few times in canon. You can get more info about him on his journal, including his app!

Plans: Koumyou is going to work on making his own illusions much, much better. He's been studying the ones he's encountered on the last several missions, and has decided it's time to step his game up. This might be partially motivated by wanting an illusory copy of his kid to talk to, who is tapped into his memories and expectations instead of his conscious control.

Training Devero in meditation continues, this eventually will be magic lessons but he needs that foundational focus first. He also goes dancing with Dev regularly, sometimes with his sutra semi-active (exposure therapy) and sometimes not.

CR wanted: All of it! Please hit me up so we can plan shit.

Has finally found out she might some day be a queen and has a son in some other world, she's going back and forth on how feel about that. Really truly back and forth. Does the flowers and the plants, sometimes on a vast scale. Greenhouse is her unofficial domain, has been vastly thwarted in her hopes to expand it up OR out.
Plans: Nothing concrete, though she's feeling much more confident in her power control lately. Had a bad mission so she's feeling down and wants to keep busy.

That train was nice enough to give him a robot body. Ultra capitalist, super charismatic, a huge jerk, a fundamentally damaged person, technically brilliant, extremely selfish, funny, overprotective, and a wee bit paranoid.
Plans: In the future I want to get him some upgrades for his body. Gonna work on that with Entrapta and V. After the last event, Jack is dealing with a bit of an existential crisis, so he's going to be a bit unstable. I have a plot lined up with V involving some more body-snatching shenanigans. Eventually he'll need to talk with Cherry about what was done to Rich.
CR wanted: New CR! Anyone he hasn't done anything with before and also of course new people coming in on the platform. More friends, more enemies.
Things to avoid: Jack is not the nicest person. If you do not want your character to be harassed by him or have any other negative CR with Jack, you can absolutely opt out of interaction with him. I have a place on my permissions post where you can tell me there too if you want to opt out of negative CR with him.

Things to avoid: Let's be realistic, she's a lot more likely to cause problems than to encounter them. Please check her permissions if you or your character is going to have trouble with discussion of body horror, violence, or color-coded alien institutionalized inequality. (The first is a lot more likely to come up than the latter two, but trolls will be trolls.)

About them: Dev's an OC from a very tech forward sci-fi setting. Technically he's a cyborg, although a very boring one compared to the other cyborgs on the train. He's a 6'4" ex-military teddy bear from a very socially progressive culture (that, er, emerged after a viral apocalypse killed 99% of people on earth). He's a founding member of Team Science and can frequently be found tinkering when he's not working out/training, dancing with his boyfriend, or playing with his pet robot.

As a reminder, Devero is a victim of profound intimate partner abuse and sexual trafficking. The mission stirred up a lot of Bad Shit from his past so that aspect of his backstory is closer to the surface than usual. You can opt out of having that content ever come up here.

Plans: Dev's got some heavy emotional fallout shit to process the following the mission, so probably a lot of that. He and Koumyou are hopefully moving in a double room this platform which will either help or enable him to hide more from his friends.

He's been working on a few tech projects with other passengers and will be continuing with those, including researching SCA signals and developing remote hard light hologram drones for use on missions. That's about the only thing he's still doing right now. You may see him out and about testing floaty sci-fi things, playing with Sir Beepers, or otherwise fiddling with mechanical or technical stuff.

CR wanted: Existing CR are invited to notice that he's been missing/weird and call him out! Otherwise, ANYTHING. Dev is a generally friendly, empathetic guy who wants to help your character solve their problems, but he also has a bit of an attitude and a temper that crops up occasionally (triggers include things like exploitative capitalism, self-interested people who don't want to cooperate with others, and technology being Not At His Level which he is STILL not over.)

Just as a note: I flaked really bad this past month on keeping up with threads due to mental health/real life shit. I'm probably going to need to drop a lot of my open threads for my own sanity. If you're waiting on a tag from me, PLEASE let me know if you want to continue the thread and/or want to talk out the end for handwaving.

Things to avoid: Animal abuse or death, otherwise I can roll with most difficult content.

About them: Basically dude has the same backstory as Stanley Yelnats from Holes but then it goes Hard. As in dude goes to jail as a kiddo/teenager, almost dies via a Series Of Bad Luck before getting out, becomes a burglar and then gets shot in the leg and in the hospital. Again.

Oh and you know, gets recruited from some Obtaining Heaven nonsense from a gay priest that was all about his bio dad's shenanigans.

He eventually turns on him, it's probably fine.
Plans: Just getting reacclimated to things as he's coming in with his brief time on the train before. Getting to know people. All that kinda shenanigans.
CR wanted: Anything, honestly. He's a kind of weird villain where he's a ruthless and kind of rude stoic jerk-ass but he's not... stupid??? And also not actively malicious unless he has reasons to be. Also he has a cool Stand which is like a weird spiritual extension of self or whatever Araki pretends it is today.

Prone to teasing. No idea how technology works, also not aware that while the war and horrors he's just lived through are behind him it'll only get worse. He's not as great of a judge of character as he thinks and his decisions are gonna come back to bite him in the most painful of ways.
Plans: At least for the first month, just meeting people and assimilating to this new world. Most of his cast is at a canon point later than him so while I don't want him to know things that'll be soul crushing quite yet, happy to get the ball rolling on all fronts.
CR wanted: Cross-canon friends, anyone to show him the ropes of how things work. He's curious and will suck with technology but want to learn.
Things to avoid: Nothing to avoid, just ease him slowly into what's to come.

After Jack/Rich and this last mission, she's struggling with a lot. From platform to the event she will not be leaving her room very much, generally laying in her bunk hugging a pillow with her back to the door. She will eventually be confronting Jack about what he did to Rich and trying to figure out what to do with that. Outside of that... I don't have anything for her!
CR wanted: She'll be literally anyone's friend so if you want a well-meaning good-natured very sweet teenager who will go out of her way to make your character happy and feel loved she's your girl.

Streetkid life path: very sad backstory that I don't talk about much because the entire Cyberpunk universe is one giant walking content warning label but all you really need to know is his mom died when he was 10, he was on his own in the streets after that, he transitioned when he was 17, and his history's given him a wonderful cocktail of mental health issues including depression, anxiety, and something that is about spitting distance from a depersonalization disorder.

Streetkid's been through a lot and was perfectly content to dissolve into the digital sea that was at one time in the past Alt Cunningham but instead this stupid train decided to intervene and stop him. How rude.

Plans:
Body Snatching: Did you know that Jack has not actually learned his lesson? Darn. He will be helpful this time around and will actually remove the virus V caught from the last mission, though. Probably.

Genji Needs Healing: Going to be working with Yondu to provide some alternative healing items other than potions for those who maybe don't trust potions or worry about how magic will work with their not completely organic physiology.
CR wanted: Honestly? Everything. He's a lonely bastard who just wants friends and to be cared for but he makes it a point to not let that happen. No positive CR with him is linear and will have times where he will try to burn bridges and things will backslide but persistence is key with him.
Things to avoid: Nothing.

Plans: Since it's Tani's first month on the train, it'll certainly be spent getting used to the new rules / lay of the train land. Also, she's super hyped to be doing chores and helping out.
CR wanted: Honestly, any CR is fine by me. Purple teammates are a plus, as congrats Purple, you get this wild child in your hair going forward. I could see Tani wanting to make friends with other people around her age as well.
Things to avoid: I'm open for most things. If it's a topic that might not be appropriate for a 13-year-old kiddo, then it's best to discuss the idea beforehand.

About them: Playing card monster trying real, real hard to pass as a human. Transforms into a Kamen Rider and tried to keep his secret identity a secret during the last mission. Probably failed a little harder on that front in some cases than he would have liked.
Plans: At this point he's trying to make sense of everything and probably needs to be called out on being that weird armored guy who was running around. I'm up for anything!
CR wanted: Anything and everything. He's a big softie with kids and likely to be various degrees of prickly towards anyone else. Sparring partners would be great, as would other nonhumans, because his world's pretty heavy on "not human" = "bad."
Things to avoid: Can't think of anything!

Mono | Little Nightmares | Red Team

Character: Mono
About them: Mono is the child protagonist of a horror franchise who isn't even two feet tall. The world he comes from represents a much more twisted version of reality where normal sized people only imitate the barest and cruelest traces of what humanity once was and prey on the small; resulting in Mono knowing of many things but with very confused or limited context. Thanks to the efforts of other voidtreckers, Mono has gotten better at viewing the train as a safe space where people don't want to eat him at first glance and is ultimately a strange but well-meaning lad. He also has a nifty ability he uses to travel through the ICP screens instead of using doors. So if you find yourself in the presence of flickering lights, static screens and hear a whispering child voice, chances are you're not being haunted, that's just Mono.

Plans: Getting this little man to the library to really hone his vocabulary! Mono's first mission didn't go so well and he's determined to prove he's worth keeping around so the train doesn't send him home. I have a lot of silly prompts already set up for this slower month to really get Mono out and about (anti-grav practice, 'interviews,' a team up with Yondu, probably some pet interaction, among others) but I'll be looking to hit up other top levels to really get him accustomed to longer conversations and get to know others better. Character: Rich Goranski
About them: What is left to say that hasn't been said before? Rich is a little gremlin disaster child who used to be abused and mind controlled by a supercomputer implanted in his brain. Now he's "better" (citation needed) and trying to function on the train even though he's pretty sure he's the furthest thing from a hero.
Plans: Not a ton! Rich is planning to move in with Alice to one of the double rooms on this platform. They're just friends, but Rich is still flustered about it, considering that he forgot there was only one bed, so please feel free to tease him for it.
I don't know what the mission will be this month (probably something low key) but when there's a chance, I would like for Rich to actually rescue someone, as he has been having a rough time seeing his worth here and I'd like to give him something concrete to hold onto. If this is something you'd be into, let me know!
