Test Drive Meme 024
Welcome to the Test Drive Meme! Here is the place to see how your character might fit the setting, grab samples and have fun!
1. Post with your character, including their name and series in the subject. We’ve written out some prompts but feel free to make up your own, you have a whole train to play with!
2. Assume they've been around long enough for threads to jump right into the action.
3. Have lots of fun.
Happy testing!
Crisis On… A fairground
The train has a game carriage and the VR video games are always popular. A good way to relive boredom as well as teaching some good skills.
Crisis on...This game can be played with two to four players. It is essentially a crisis simulator mixed with an escape room. You can chose the scenario (the bridge of a space ship, a camp in a jungle, a high rise building, a sailing ship etc) and you are thrown into the middle of a crisis of some kind. Teamwork and a cool head are important as is using the surroundings wisely.
How hard can running a fairground me? Well very hard when so much has gone wrong. Is it sabotage? Is it bad luck? Shoddy engineering? No mater what it is the important thing is rides are breaking, people are in danger, there’s temperature fluctuations in the fun house and the banshee in the ghost house won’t stop screaming. This is perhaps one of the more light hearted scenario’s in Crisis On but brings it’s own level of stress. Good luck keeping everyone safe and pacifying those angry guests.
Jam Session
Downstairs in the music carriage there are a variety of instruments. Mostly smaller instruments (a guitar is the largest instrument there). There are a couple of each type. There is however an entire box of recorders, another box of panpipes and a box of mixed small percussion instruments (symbols, shakers etc). There are music stands small stools to sit on are stacked along the wall. There are folders of various sheet music as well as some ‘learn to play’ books.
When there is only one practice room well then it is the perfect time to learn to play together. No matter the skill level, instrument or music preference. Playing music together is a good team bonding activity after all.
Or perhaps everyone is just playing their own thing, descending into chaos.
Jungle Heights
The latest mission has taken them to a vast jungle, where people live high in the trees. There has been an influx of tree dwelling creatures with sharp teeth, sharper claws and a love of destruction. To make things better the forest floor is not safe, damp and marshy many creatures lurk there ready to bite at ankles and it is home to a root, the sap of which burns.Team One
Treetop fighting is an acquired skill and one the voidtreckers are having to learn quickly. Swing on vine ropes and tangle with monsters. Quick movement and quicker thinking is needed to take down the creatures in terrain they are naturals at traversing.Team Two
People here live on platforms in the trees, with bridges and walkways connecting them. Fend off the creatures and chase them away from peoples homes. At least there is slightly solider ground beneath their feet, but they must be careful not to fall to the jungle floor beneath.Team Three
Many of the people here are not fighters and they need help to get somewhere safer. It's a tough journey through the forest, especially when they leave the bridges and platforms of the village behind. Children may need carried and climbing from one tree to another is difficult even with sturdy branches to walk along.
They must be careful to stay in the trees, avoid getting too close to the forest floor but do not get too high, lest they attract the creatures.

also wildcard one;
Zewu Jun.
[He stands again, a smile on his face, happy to see someone familiar.]
I had been trying to avoid hurting Hanguang Jun's rabbits here and had not calculated a step correctly.

surprisingly, xichen is familiar to him. enough to bow, to smile brightly. normally, strangers are much more reserved and sometimes even nervous with either jade of lan.
still, he returns the greeting with.
and yet-- this young man clearly also knows his brother. Which means -- ] Wangji is here? [there's hope in his voice, a slight tinge of panic because he's unsure what that means. wangji, as far as he knows, is still recovering, but this place has proven itself strange enough that maybe he's been retrieved as well.]
no subject
[He nods, beaming]
Ah...there are...three Hanguang Jun here. I am not sure if he would be from your time and place, Zewu Jun. Has anyone spoken to you about that yet?
[Oh no. Well, this Zewu Jun has not mentioned anything about his lack of forehead ribbon.]

[Oops. Well. Sizhui gives an awkward laugh before clearing his throat.]
Perhaps it would help if I knew of the events that happened before you appeared here, Zewu Jun.

he is tempted to ask if the answer to the question is pertinent, but a deep breath calms him down. this man, oddly familiar as he is, would not have asked otherwise. ] I-- I was tending to my nephew before I arrived here? The world is just settling in the aftermath of the Yiling Patriarch's death.
no subject
Your nephew.
[There's more and more to the story of what had happened to his didi but Sizhui gives a kind smile and motions over to where some seats are]
Would that nephew be a-Yuan?
[He doesn't know the exact circumstances of his didi and how he came to the Lan but it's obvious that didi was still Hanguang Jun's child]
no subject
They are walking toward the seats when he realizes, stops mid step with brows creased once again. The hand tucked behind his back clenches into a fist and relaxes, his shoulders remain evenly squared.] Are you...?
[He's uncertain at first but then his voice grows steadier when he asks.] A-Yuan?
no subject
I am.
[He pauses before taking a seat.]
And yet I'm not. Where I'm from, the Yiling Patriarch is alive. He and the Wen remnants were moved to Dafan Mountain with Hanguang Jun.
The nephew you know is Lan Sizhui. He's here too. I'm Wen Sizhui.
no subject
sizhui.
if nothing else, his brother is obvious to those who know him. the nephew he knows has not received his courtesy name yet, wangji was not in a state to decide and he's certainly not in the state now but--- it's fitting.
xichen lets out a shaky breath.] Ah... [this is what was meant by different worlds.] And you... grew up there? With the Yiling Patriarch and Wangji?
no subject
[He smiles gently and nods]
...would you prefer to speak with your actual nephew, then?

[While he had been hesitant, understanding if this Lan Xichen had been from Lan Sizhui's world, he would wish to see his brother, Wen Sizhui perks up and practically lights up the entire carriage with his smile and he nods enthusiastically.]
I am! My apologies, Zewu Jun, as I had assumed that you were from Lan Sizhui's world. Many that I have met here are.
no subject
xichen lets the curiosity remain, though the tension bleeds out of him. ] I'm not certain that I am. You see, as I know any version of you, you have not received a courtesy name.
no subject
He would consider himself so, Zewu Jun.
[He's glad to see the tension leave his uncle of another world.]
Ah. Then yes, you would be. We're both A-Yuan, as I've said. I suppose this means he would've received his courtesy name not too long from when you last knew him. I grew up on Dafan Mountain with Xian-ge and Hanguang Jun. I received my courtesy name shortly before starting my study in cultivation.
no subject
sizhui. wangji is really not subtle.
xichen lets out a soft chuckle, shakes his head to dispel some of the sadness that he knows threatens to slip through his well-worn mask.] You were able to study cultivation on Dafan Mountain? [he's uncertain of the circumstances of this a-yuan's world, but he hopes that his brother's presence in his life offered better circumstances than those wangji had told him about after his visit.]
