Crisis On… A fairground

The train has a game carriage and the VR video games are always popular. A good way to relive boredom as well as teaching some good skills.

Crisis on...This game can be played with two to four players. It is essentially a crisis simulator mixed with an escape room. You can chose the scenario (the bridge of a space ship, a camp in a jungle, a high rise building, a sailing ship etc) and you are thrown into the middle of a crisis of some kind. Teamwork and a cool head are important as is using the surroundings wisely.

How hard can running a fairground me? Well very hard when so much has gone wrong. Is it sabotage? Is it bad luck? Shoddy engineering? No mater what it is the important thing is rides are breaking, people are in danger, there’s temperature fluctuations in the fun house and the banshee in the ghost house won’t stop screaming. This is perhaps one of the more light hearted scenario’s in Crisis On but brings it’s own level of stress. Good luck keeping everyone safe and pacifying those angry guests.

Jam Session

Downstairs in the music carriage there are a variety of instruments. Mostly smaller instruments (a guitar is the largest instrument there). There are a couple of each type. There is however an entire box of recorders, another box of panpipes and a box of mixed small percussion instruments (symbols, shakers etc). There are music stands small stools to sit on are stacked along the wall. There are folders of various sheet music as well as some ‘learn to play’ books.

When there is only one practice room well then it is the perfect time to learn to play together. No matter the skill level, instrument or music preference. Playing music together is a good team bonding activity after all.

Or perhaps everyone is just playing their own thing, descending into chaos.

Jungle Heights

The latest mission has taken them to a vast jungle, where people live high in the trees. There has been an influx of tree dwelling creatures with sharp teeth, sharper claws and a love of destruction. To make things better the forest floor is not safe, damp and marshy many creatures lurk there ready to bite at ankles and it is home to a root, the sap of which burns.

Team One

Treetop fighting is an acquired skill and one the voidtreckers are having to learn quickly. Swing on vine ropes and tangle with monsters. Quick movement and quicker thinking is needed to take down the creatures in terrain they are naturals at traversing.

Team Two

People here live on platforms in the trees, with bridges and walkways connecting them. Fend off the creatures and chase them away from peoples homes. At least there is slightly solider ground beneath their feet, but they must be careful not to fall to the jungle floor beneath.

Team Three

Many of the people here are not fighters and they need help to get somewhere safer. It's a tough journey through the forest, especially when they leave the bridges and platforms of the village behind. Children may need carried and climbing from one tree to another is difficult even with sturdy branches to walk along.

They must be careful to stay in the trees, avoid getting too close to the forest floor but do not get too high, lest they attract the creatures.

[Ayumi doesn't know whether to be exasperated with Takechirou or thank the bird for utterly ruining the mood, so she'll settled for bemusedly ruffling the raven's feather's.]

Ahahaha... thanks. I think it's all of those vocal exercises Nobu had me do to get my voice to carry more. [Helpful on a battlefield, but also surprisingly didn't shred Ayumi's vocal cords in the process and in fact improved them.]

It's nice in a lot of ways, but... [Ayumi lets her sentence trail off. She still misses Chaldea too much, old and new, to really feel at home here yet.]

[It's hard to be mad at Takechirou when he was only really around for a year, and even then, not that. Vodka didn't have the birds of the noble phantasm out through Chaldea's halls nearly as much as he could have- so for Takechirou, this is a rare chance indeed.]

She had you do vocal exercises? [Kiyoiri thinks about that for half a second, and then simply nods.] ...That makes sense. Nobunaga-nee is loud.

[Logic! Still.] ....We'll finish here, [she insists calmly, brows quirked just slightly to show the concern.] ...We'll finish here, and then at the end, go home to finish there.

I hope everyone else is getting on fine without us. [When did this conversation take such a turn for the depressing? Ayumi sighs, staring up at the ceiling.] I know they won't stand for going after Atlantis without the two of us there, but... I'm worried about all the little things, you know?

Like what will happen if Nobu's gang gets up to no good again. [She snorts.] Or who will keep Koji in line.

They should be okay. We've had to be separated for rayshifts before after all... [....including...Koji she thinks. Maybe. Uh...]

...Genta-kun seems good at helping with Nobunaga-tachi... [A good way of saying Nobu's Sort, that.] ...Koji though...

[Hm. HM. Hm.] ...I think as long as he can fight with one of the other Spirits, it should be okay.

If all else fails, he can just go at it with Heracles in the sims again. Like old times.

[Ayumi had personally negotiated the ceasefire and... following weird relationship between the two.

Sometimes, Koji just needed to go nuts against a target that he could exhaust all the rage in his tiny tiger body without making a dent on.]

[Kiyoiri considers this.] Hmmmm...

Normally I would say it could be worse then...but Heracles really listened when we explained things last time, so you're probably right...

...He even made me a night hoodie to say sorry I think... [Really, she never fully got what the intent was.]

You helped him with that, didn't you? Only you could help Heracles make something so cute. [Ayumi giggles. Kiyoiri had a way with the slightly to completely insane misfits of Chaldea, and it was always a sight watching her herd them into something domestic.]

[A brief look of surprise, and it's clear that it takes a minute for Kiyoiri to realize what Ayumi is saying.] Oh- No, actually...

He took measurements, but he did it all on his own. I didn't help at all...

[Ayumi is around half a degree away from physically manifesting sparkles to accompany her high-pitched squeeing right now.]

[Kiyoiri is nodding in agreement, even if she does have a rather subdued expression in comparison. Inside, she is manifesting the sparkles. Inside.]

I think it made a lot of the other berserker servants a little upset- they were trying to think of ideas, but they couldn't figure out why Heracles thought of it. I don't know either, but that part doesn't seem as important- Heracles wanted to make it, and he did.

[A bit more of a smile.] I think it's like when the others gave you your earrings, or the other things in your room. Even if it's not for battle, it's something nice that makes you think of them while still being 'yours'.
