Test Drive Meme 024

Welcome to the Test Drive Meme! Here is the place to see how your character might fit the setting, grab samples and have fun!

1. Post with your character, including their name and series in the subject. We’ve written out some prompts but feel free to make up your own, you have a whole train to play with!

2. Assume they've been around long enough for threads to jump right into the action.

3. Have lots of fun.

Happy testing!

Crisis On… A fairground

The train has a game carriage and the VR video games are always popular. A good way to relive boredom as well as teaching some good skills.

Crisis on...This game can be played with two to four players. It is essentially a crisis simulator mixed with an escape room. You can chose the scenario (the bridge of a space ship, a camp in a jungle, a high rise building, a sailing ship etc) and you are thrown into the middle of a crisis of some kind. Teamwork and a cool head are important as is using the surroundings wisely.

How hard can running a fairground me? Well very hard when so much has gone wrong. Is it sabotage? Is it bad luck? Shoddy engineering? No mater what it is the important thing is rides are breaking, people are in danger, there’s temperature fluctuations in the fun house and the banshee in the ghost house won’t stop screaming. This is perhaps one of the more light hearted scenario’s in Crisis On but brings it’s own level of stress. Good luck keeping everyone safe and pacifying those angry guests.

Jam Session

Downstairs in the music carriage there are a variety of instruments. Mostly smaller instruments (a guitar is the largest instrument there). There are a couple of each type. There is however an entire box of recorders, another box of panpipes and a box of mixed small percussion instruments (symbols, shakers etc). There are music stands small stools to sit on are stacked along the wall. There are folders of various sheet music as well as some ‘learn to play’ books.

When there is only one practice room well then it is the perfect time to learn to play together. No matter the skill level, instrument or music preference. Playing music together is a good team bonding activity after all.

Or perhaps everyone is just playing their own thing, descending into chaos.

Jungle Heights

The latest mission has taken them to a vast jungle, where people live high in the trees. There has been an influx of tree dwelling creatures with sharp teeth, sharper claws and a love of destruction. To make things better the forest floor is not safe, damp and marshy many creatures lurk there ready to bite at ankles and it is home to a root, the sap of which burns.
Team One

Treetop fighting is an acquired skill and one the voidtreckers are having to learn quickly. Swing on vine ropes and tangle with monsters. Quick movement and quicker thinking is needed to take down the creatures in terrain they are naturals at traversing.

Team Two

People here live on platforms in the trees, with bridges and walkways connecting them. Fend off the creatures and chase them away from peoples homes. At least there is slightly solider ground beneath their feet, but they must be careful not to fall to the jungle floor beneath.

Team Three

Many of the people here are not fighters and they need help to get somewhere safer. It's a tough journey through the forest, especially when they leave the bridges and platforms of the village behind. Children may need carried and climbing from one tree to another is difficult even with sturdy branches to walk along.

They must be careful to stay in the trees, avoid getting too close to the forest floor but do not get too high, lest they attract the creatures.

THE SOUND I JUST MADE

She wasn't the only one who'd heard the screaming, or even the only one busy dispatching the beasts swarming over the settlement. Even if, between the two of them anyway, she was the only one fortunate enough to arrive with a weapon. But then again, no one who could wield the Force was ever truly without one.

Something that the local wildlife was clearly having a difficult time understanding, or at least understanding soon enough to save them. One of the creatures suddenly flew through the air from around the corner of a home that had clearly been the center of attention for no small number of the beasts. And Senya was no doubt one of the few present who could intuitively understand the nature of the unnatural lightning that carried the beast through the air and crashing into a half-collapsed structure. More than that, it shouldn't have been difficult to understand just why the creature was suddenly hauled up the wall by an invisible force, panicking and clawing at its throat so desperately that it began to tear at its own flesh. It didn't stop until a distinct and audible crunch caused its body to seize, then go limp before it fell to the deck.

The cause of its demise came around the same corner shortly afterward at the head of a small group of civilians who, while maybe not enthusiastic about his presence, seemed no less grateful for the assistance.

"Another group is preparing to evacuate to the northwest, hurry and- Senya?"

There really wasn't much in this or any galaxy that was capable of stopping Darth Nox dead in his tracks. But seeing one of his most capable allies making a sudden appearance, here of all places, after years of being dragged from universe to universe and writing off the likelihood he'd ever see a familiar face again? That did the trick.

She could feel it. It prickled down her spine. Her attention divided between her own combat and the force-lightning, barbequed creature. It was an ostentatious move and yet familiar. Senya knew that style.

However, before she could immediately investigate further she had her own crew of crowding creatures to handle. Senya's fighting style wasn't as flamboyant as Darth Nox's was. It was more akin to brawling and bowling over enemies with force. She used what she had to take them out as quickly as possible. Senya didn't always resort to murdering them but the creatures were different.

She knocked creatures off the platform to her left and right with her pike as she made her way over.

Senya was surprised as well. "Nox?"1 There was no use hiding her expression. Had she expected to run into anyone that she knew? No. Should she have been? Perhaps.

"You have no idea how refreshing it is to see a familiar face."

As was his wont, it wasn't a lie, but the particulars of the truth were left unsaid. In this case however, it wasn't out of a desire to avoid the topic. Or at least not to avoid it for any sort of ulterior motives. And given Senya's tendency to be rather mission-focused when it came time for her to do her job, he suspected she'd understand his reasons well enough they wouldn't need to be explained just yet. Especially not with the sounds of battle still filling the air around them, or the bellowing cries of the monsters they'd been sent to deal with.

"At least someone saw fit to allow you to keep your weapon. As it means you'll make for a better vanguard than I, do you object to taking point? There's an evacuation that can't be missed."

Whether this was his Senya or not, he couldn't say for certain. Not until they had time to sit down and compare one another's experiences in their own galaxy. But considering he had no good reason to take unarmed civilians into danger, and their presence behind him, he had more than enough reason to believe she'd understand his meaning. Whatever Senya's shortcomings might have been, an analytical mind--especially on the battlefield--was certainly not one of them.
