Test Drive Meme 024
Welcome to the Test Drive Meme! Here is the place to see how your character might fit the setting, grab samples and have fun!
1. Post with your character, including their name and series in the subject. We’ve written out some prompts but feel free to make up your own, you have a whole train to play with!
2. Assume they've been around long enough for threads to jump right into the action.
3. Have lots of fun.
Happy testing!
Crisis On… A fairground
The train has a game carriage and the VR video games are always popular. A good way to relive boredom as well as teaching some good skills.
Crisis on...This game can be played with two to four players. It is essentially a crisis simulator mixed with an escape room. You can chose the scenario (the bridge of a space ship, a camp in a jungle, a high rise building, a sailing ship etc) and you are thrown into the middle of a crisis of some kind. Teamwork and a cool head are important as is using the surroundings wisely.
How hard can running a fairground me? Well very hard when so much has gone wrong. Is it sabotage? Is it bad luck? Shoddy engineering? No mater what it is the important thing is rides are breaking, people are in danger, there’s temperature fluctuations in the fun house and the banshee in the ghost house won’t stop screaming. This is perhaps one of the more light hearted scenario’s in Crisis On but brings it’s own level of stress. Good luck keeping everyone safe and pacifying those angry guests.
Jam Session
Downstairs in the music carriage there are a variety of instruments. Mostly smaller instruments (a guitar is the largest instrument there). There are a couple of each type. There is however an entire box of recorders, another box of panpipes and a box of mixed small percussion instruments (symbols, shakers etc). There are music stands small stools to sit on are stacked along the wall. There are folders of various sheet music as well as some ‘learn to play’ books.
When there is only one practice room well then it is the perfect time to learn to play together. No matter the skill level, instrument or music preference. Playing music together is a good team bonding activity after all.
Or perhaps everyone is just playing their own thing, descending into chaos.
Jungle Heights
The latest mission has taken them to a vast jungle, where people live high in the trees. There has been an influx of tree dwelling creatures with sharp teeth, sharper claws and a love of destruction. To make things better the forest floor is not safe, damp and marshy many creatures lurk there ready to bite at ankles and it is home to a root, the sap of which burns.Team One
Treetop fighting is an acquired skill and one the voidtreckers are having to learn quickly. Swing on vine ropes and tangle with monsters. Quick movement and quicker thinking is needed to take down the creatures in terrain they are naturals at traversing.Team Two
People here live on platforms in the trees, with bridges and walkways connecting them. Fend off the creatures and chase them away from peoples homes. At least there is slightly solider ground beneath their feet, but they must be careful not to fall to the jungle floor beneath.Team Three
Many of the people here are not fighters and they need help to get somewhere safer. It's a tough journey through the forest, especially when they leave the bridges and platforms of the village behind. Children may need carried and climbing from one tree to another is difficult even with sturdy branches to walk along.
They must be careful to stay in the trees, avoid getting too close to the forest floor but do not get too high, lest they attract the creatures.

Pirinja Minja | FFXIV (non-WoL OC)
[ This is one of Pirinja's favorite cars, and it's where she ends up spending no small amount of time. She can be found there all sorts of times, trying out different instruments in turn. You might catch her in the evening, humming a soothing sort of song.
Or if you're practicing yourself, you might find her picking up to match your melody, either with instrument, or using her voice as an instrument, at times.
Most rarely of all though is when she sings songs with actual words. If you happen to find her at such times... you might do more than hear the tale she's weaving. You might see flashes of places, people, parts of the song.
Perhaps it's just your imagination? ]
Lalafell Bullying [Jungle Two, though you could probably swing One]
[ It's an unfortunately commonly-known bit of information that far too many of Hydaelyn's creatures found Lalafell... bite-sized and appetizing. Pirinja would have hoped, in the wider multiverse, that such tendencies were... a bit less obvious.
That, unfortunately, proved not to be the case. Or at the very least, the sight of one Lalafellan woman defending platform where some local residents are gathering - making ready for the impending journey - is doing little to dissuade the creatures bearing down on them. ]
Hells take it!
[ One of the creatures catches her by an ankle, half-hoisting her up into the air. The awkward angle fights with being at point-blank range, and in the end she gives up and stabs at the creature with the arrow instead, trying desperately to keep from dropping her bow in the meantime. ]
A bit of help here would be greatly appreciated!
================================
[ ooc; the beta Scion OC I meant to toy with last time: born in Bozja, escaped at around 16, arrived in Eorzea around at similar timing as the WoL. Found out she has the Echo and summarily was recruited to the Scions during early-ARR, similarly to Arenvald. Is an Archer/Bard (from some of the classes after Gridania starts training bards again), crossclassing as Conjurer, would like to Dance someday. Sort of want to play with an "inversion" of typical Echo powers (like Mikoto's seeing flashes of the future instead of the past), so instead of seeing the memories of others, she can sort of unintentionally "project" her own memories and thoughts at times - which usually comes in the form of her she telling really good stories.
Icons will be updated at some point, I pretty clearly originally made this account for her WoL iteration; if you have any questions or have other ideas for a thread, feel free to hit me up at Gorsecloud#8698 or
what else are tall people for but keeping lalafell from being eaten
When the Lalafell woman can look, the sight is startling even to someone not familiar with that particular face; an impressively-tall-even-by-Garlean-standards woman with a gunspear braced on one arm, the 'gun' part still smoking with the powder. There's a bandolier of bullets slung along their hips, but otherwise they're geared in the train's uniform, a bright red against the forest under a dark cloak that offers at least some camoflage.]
Back, beasts. You're hardly worth the cartridges.
[They're a limited resource, after all. It's not until they're sure that Pirinja is clear that they charge forward to put the tip of their spear through one of the creatures.
Better a dragoon tank than a bard tank, right?]providing shade for lalafells
It's a thought that doesn't entirely disappear when she sees who her savior is. Significantly? Yes. Entirely...? Not quite. It's complicated. Feelings are complicated. She's at least known Eula was here on the train after all.
Complicated things can wait until there aren't things trying to kidnap her for nefarious (and probably nutritional) purposes, nevermind what they wanted to do with the locals. And when her shoulder isn't sore from slamming into the floor at an angle she can't really roll the momentum out of. Still she does roll, so she can try to push herself to at least a kneeling position and get her bow up.
Wordlessly, she takes the still-bloody arrow she'd been using to bludgeon the one holding her, lifts it to her bow and fires, enough to cause one that had been coming at Eula from behind to have to dodge out of the way instead. ]
no subject
They're more used to spell-slingers than archers - the number of Scions who actually make more use of arms than magic is still usually just them and Thancred - but it's not that difficult to keep out of shot. After the next volley of arrows, Eula follows the back-step of the creatures, swinging the blade of their spear wide and sweeping. It catches one creature round the neck, hooking on but not quite cutting through, but -
A jerk of one hand to work the mechanisms, and another shot fires, directly into where the creature's throat is hooked by the base of the blade. It makes an unsettling keen, and the two that remain uninjured scatter. The last, caught by the arrow in the shoulder, is slower to limp off.]
Well. At least they're not entirely without an onze of self-preservation.
[It's enough that the civilians will probably feel well enough to start moving again, at any rate.]
Jam Session
It's likely that Auditi isn't actually getting the full effect of... whatever it is that the diminutive woman is doing; it's hard to directly influence the mind of a troll of her blood color. But she's had enough people try in the past that she's not entirely unfamiliar with the odd sensation of thoughts that aren't entirely her own trying to assert themselves. She stands stock still for a moment, frowning to herself as she tries to sort out whether anything else foreign has made its way into her thinkpan... but there's nothing that alarms her, and after a moment's reflection it's clear that whatever that was, it wasn't specifically targeted at her - the song had been well underway when she entered the room.
She shakes her head a little, as if that's going to dislodge the images, and looks to the singer.] Hey, do you realize you're projecting?
