calling all healers/doctors?
Willow's player here! With Ichigo dropping and Wen Qing having dropped beginning of March, I was wondering if setting up a mingle/discussion/"rollcall" of sorts for remaining doctors/medics/healers would be a wise idea to organise the medical team since as I recall, both of the previously mentioned characters were in charge of medical or lead medics? Would anyone be opposed to ICLY discussing anything organising medics/the medical team? (Like training, who's around, who's willing to teach, etc...?)
I had posted this on plurk earlier, but posting here as well to get extra thoughts. I know we have the white squad for healers on missions, but this being for on the train.
My plurk post mentioned for reference
(My apologies if this is just word salad, I'm not very good with explaining)
(A CLARIFICATION! BC it's pointed out that oops I'm bad at words, I'm not making a call for leadership roles, but more of general "who's here and who can help out or teach" kind of thing)

(If they raise the cap, I am almost certainly bringing in Kaylin who is a healer. but not a leader, though a less bad choice than my other kids. And possibly Sardelle who is both leader and healer.)

Lightning - relatively average magical healing, futuristic first aid training, spent a lot of time with wen qing and still tends to hang around medical. ICly willing to be on-call for injuries or to show people how to use the healing manadrives.
Generally I'd recommend having a rota or a 'who's around, who's got what speciality' rather than trying to establish a leader, since they're not a faction, they're a skill group.

Ken can also field medicine with spells but tends to be too busy attacking.
Casper can also heal a bit with spells and would like to learn more about medicine. He's never been very good at it but wants to be helpful.

Push comes to shove she can diagnose illness/injury and perform basic procedures as well.

I think a small and easy post about characters who volunteer/work at the medical carriage(s) would be nice, that people could be like "sup, my character's interested in helping out, this is what they know". Also mentioning any available training, what supplies the medical carriages has and what they would be publicly asking more of.
(Which I know has been put on the bounty board and that could be linked - and I think a document was made? But if anything else comes up, etc).
AFAIK Wen Qing and Ichigo were never leads, just very present in the carriages? Which, if I'm wrong, does make a case for having the OOC info being available somewhere. I'm +1 on the medical team having a rota, but ICly, Tidus wouldn't have any opinion, but could help buying any supplies.
Thank you for stepping up and speaking about this btw! :)

I think I'll put that post up a day after platform having Willow ask that and make a note oocly in that to link resources like the bounty board in replies. Willow's definitely going to notice that there's not as many healers around so she'll be nervous and wanting to know who all is left as a healer/medic/doctor.
(I'd been told that those two had led it, but if that's wrong then whoops)

But that's of course up to you/anyone else involved with medical shenanigans! i just love ooc organising......
Still Willow's player, just swapped journals for the moment
You're not alone, it makes things so much easier to track, so I welcome all the help on that front

She does go to medical now and again, but not often and if people need it she would offer to go more for healing hair power.

....Beej, on the other hand, is not the person you want administering first aid.

Trunks is a fighter first and foremost, but he can do very basic first-aid if needed. He also donated senzu beans (15 in medical and 10 in triage), which can heal almost any injury barring death, or unnatural illnesses.

Look, he's new to this whole healing business, and having Death Incarnate staffing medical just because he has some healing discus is asking for trouble.

Despite his age at the time, he studied medicine extensively for several years. He read every required textbook and did at least eight different internships around the world in various fields, most notably his time in Africa studying Ebola.
In more recent time, he has 150 patients in canon, and acts most like a family doctor in function, with most likely a focus on injuries over illness, most of the people in his village are fairly young. He is someone who knows how to dispense medications, dosages and what they are all used for - outside of emergency care, he also provides palliative care. He has experience in diagnosing people’s illnesses or injuries and coming up with treatment plans. He is likely greatly helped by the fact he has an eidetic memory so he hasn’t forgotten a word in any of the textbooks he read in his teens, some thousands of years ago. He has operated on a patient prior to coming to VT, and we know from further canon he demonstrates further knowledge in surgical procedures. He’s not a specialist, but more of a general practitioner/general surgeon.
In VT itself, he’s been involved with medical since last August. He’s been on call because Ichigo and Wen Qing had the shifts managed, and pulled the odd shift here and there. He assisted with the eye surgery, in collaboration with her to discuss the aftercare options, to avoid organ rejection.
When Wen Qing left, he picked up many more medical shifts to help Ichigo manage the patients as needed.
He’s been studying magic, and has managed to learn a healing spell. He can heal about three moderate injuries, or one major injury patient per day. He’s still new, his ability to wield magic is incredibly limited, but will get better with time and practice.
As a note, Ichigo does in fact have histories on anyone who’s given them to him, likely somewhere, possibly on the ICP in there? I’m not quite sure where he was putting them, but those who were working in medical had access to them. Many of the supplies were donated by Curufin, from a list by Haibara ages ago as far as medicine goes, and Senku has added several books to the small medical library.

(Even Koumyou goes into a kind of... briefly catatonic, brain-reboot after taking a healing from it. And screams during it. And he knows what to expect.)
But if there's mass about-to-be-casualties, for example, he's a good option and he would tell people as much. Or if the other healers are tapped out/not present/there's no healing items around, and even one person is about to die, he's good in that kind of a pinch.
You just don't want him healing you unless it's Dire.

He's got some medicinal herbs growing in his garden in the greenhouse car, though that's really neither here nor there.
Saash can do some basic healing, but it's more like "cuts, bruises, and scrapes" for the most part, since if I recall correctly it can potentially use her own life force for more.

He is also capable of diagnosing/treating common illnesses, and can perform general surgery. And he's been studying psychology/counseling, with a focus toward anxiety, because yikes.
He's been taking shifts in medical already, and is quite willing to continue to do so. He can act in a supervisory role, and in fact might take charge out of habit in a stressful situation, but since he doesn't entirely trust himself, he won't be looking for any actual authority. He will, however, make it known that he can teleport. Technically he can take others with him as well, but unless they're cloaked in the right protective clothing, it's...highly emotionally distressing for the passenger, and thus is reserved for outright emergencies.
