February Information and CR Meme!

 We hope everyone had a fun month! Some information for your ongoing journey.

IC Month

This month is the month of Jelly. Days can be found here.

The thought of the month is “No-one is useless in these worlds who lightens the burdens of another.”

This means: Tagging into other characters’ top levels or posts will earn you two bonus points during January and February.

Threads that fulfil this criteria can be submitted during February AC. You may find it easier to keep a tracking list of threads for easy compiling of bonus AC! As a note: Though there is no thread length minimum we will be keeping an eye on thread lengths to make sure that people are committing to the threads they tag into.

The ingredient of the month is avocado. Recipes are here. All the ingredients can be found in the storeroom and characters are welcome to make other food with them.

This month’s chore assignments are:

Blue: Cleaning kitchen and bathrooms
Purple: Cleaning bedrooms and passenger areas
Red: Meal Preparation
Orange: Laundry

Important Dates

This month’s event will be a train event on the 12th & 13th of February. (A plotting post will go up on the 7th.)

The TDM will be posted on the 16th. Reserves will open on the 18th. Apps are between the 20th and the 27th. AC will run from the 20th to the 27th of February.

Train Updates

The shop has grown once again to add medium animals. Animals that fit into this category are anything bigger than a miniature kitten and smaller than a large dog breed. As a rule of thumb: if it could be ridden into battle it's too large!!

A further update to the shop. Hammerspace items can now only be bought by those from the world they exist in; they can buy them as gifts for others if they wish, much like with animals from specific worlds. This has been reflected on the new Item comment here. (I realise the comment is visibly a little awkward on the shop page since there are replies to the old comment still but that will be fixed once shop purchases have been processed!)

A reminder that in general with specific items from worlds that are not your character's own, please make sure your character has learned about them either in a thread or, if handwaved, that you have chatted with a player from that world. This is as much to make sure everyone knows how the items work as anything else. Any questions, come chat to us!

Character: Senku Ishigami
About them: Dr. STONE. Senku is a mad genius who's playing a life-size Civilization game after the apocalypse destroyed all of civilization in his canon. His genius extends to all STEM areas and that's it. He's got negative luck stat and no stamina to speak of.
Plans: This month's plans include: Getting drunk off his ass with Xue Yang, making chocolate with the ingredients he collected from the mission before last and constructing bone knives. Oh and probably asking for blood samples. It's a light month, I'm planning later to potentially go for the angst button here later in the month, depending on the event.
CR wanted: I like all the CR. I'll take any and all of it.
Things to avoid: I don't have a problem with anything - Senku has a problem being touched, and it's a fast way to get him irritated with your character, especially if you don't let go.

Entrapta is glad to have a science friend. She'll probably tell him about some of her project ideas. She's also still really curious about that medusa thing.

Excellent. He's mildly concerned about Entrapta, but that's never stopped him from ignoring that to science.

Had Gen not come along, he'd have shown it to her, alas Gen told him to knock it off XD

Character: Natsuno Yuuki/Koide
About them: Shiki. He was an ordinary teenager, albeit an emo one when vampires moved to his town and started killing everyone. He died, and came back as a special breed of vampire. He would like nothing more than to be dead, thanks.
Plans: Natsuno is going to be looking to improve his vampiric skills. He has a plan to use the gift of his psychic skills to attack the stupid train that won't let him off. While he won't tell people that he could probably be found working on his skillset.
CR wanted: Natsuno needs to make new friends. He only talks to a few people, and he doesn't have a friend in his life currently who drags him around. He needs that.
Things to avoid: As always, nothing for me, and nothing for him too pretty much.

Hey buddy. Soldat is not great for dragging around, but they're good for other things? Come be friends so they can slowly talk you out of that whole wanting-to-be-dead thing.

Oof that's a tall order Soldat. He's of the opinion he's already dead, twice in fact. It's possible though eventually. He's come to terms with it before. He likes Soldat plenty. :D

Character: Yoite
About them: Nabari no Ou. Yoite has lived an incredibly tragic life with no freedom to speak of and is sick and dying. He's an elite ninja, once belonging to the Grey Wolves clan, he went rogue not long before he left. The only sense of his untouched by the effect of his skills is his sense of smell. He's nearly completely deaf, his vision flickers in and out at times, he has no sensation where he has qi burns on his body and no sense of taste. He's physically a mess. He threw everything away to protect his only friend Miharu.
Plans: Yoite might be trying to learn, at Devero's suggestion. I'm planning on having him shop around some hobbies that aren't sitting and staring at nothing which is pretty much what he's been doing. He also needs to hit the gym to an unhealthy degree because he's not doing well on missions and he's worried someone's going to up and kill him prematurely.
CR wanted: Yoite will take anyone, and really, learning to have friends is a good thing for him.
Things to avoid: I'm good with anything. For Yoite, there hasn't been that much to avoid, except he avoids the spa because he's not comfortable with his body for a lot of reasons.

It should be noted that delving into who he is is basically a massive trigger warning.

Okay so if Yoite agrees to this plan, Soldat is going to start instigating scavenger hunt type things for Yoite, to help him work on his situational awareness and observation sills. They'll send him through the ship daily, all the way from one end to the other, to look for specific things each day: "list me all the things you saw that a red", "find ten things with the texture 'fluffy'", "describe seven distinct smells between this car and that car", "find two places on the train that qualify as too hot to be comfortable", that kind of thing. Nothing related to hearing, with a focus on smell and touch as much as possible, those being the senses Yoite has said are not affected. They'd also like to maybe train a little with him physically, to show Yoite different ways of telling when an attack is coming that don't rely on hearing (vibrations in the floor, air displacement, movement out of the corner of one's eye).

Happy to play out/handwave as much as you like, but this should hopefully help him start to be more aware of his surroundings :)

Oh that's really good. Yoite would really appreciate it. His idea at the moment is to use his powers sort of like echolocation, only that's a terrible idea because he will burn out way too fast. There's a limit to how much he can use his powers as it is. He was just gonna brute force this.

Soldat's plan is way better than that. I'd be happy to RP some of this for sure :D

Yeah as soon as Yoite said he needed to work on that, Soldat like perked up, they've done this with two other people back in their previous game :3 It's fun!

I'll make sure my next log has a place for something like this for ya <3 and I'm always happy to wildcard stuff if you feel like picking up some random scavenger hunt things. Soldat WILL hide specific things around the train to test his skills, too. He looking for red: here's a red origami crane sitting on a shelf in the library. Looking for sweet smells, here's some fresh-baked cookies in the luggage car to stumble on. It's a game for both of them that helps train important skills.

Yeah, the loss of his senses is fairly new in the two months prior to being on the train, and he's covering for it as best he can. What he didn't realize, is that Miharu was helping him more than he thought. Now he doesn't have him there and he's a bit bereft. He thought the only problem with the robots was the fact Kira doesn't work on them, but now he's gotten scolded again so he's upset about it. It's a huge liability for him.

Character: Demyx
About them: Kingdom Hearts. All of it. Demyx was a straight up villain in two, and a turncoat in three. He's a cheerful guy who wants you to think there's nothing going on upstairs. That kind of cover has worked well for him, it helped him hide in the middle of the Organization as someone who was meant to be overlooked and in the third helped him be benched and forgotten, which led him to being recruited to working for the light. Cunning and able to blend into the background are reasons why he was a recon specialist. A pacifist, he typically doesn't like to fight, although he may be discovering he doesn't like being forced to fight, but he should not be underestimated.
Plans: Demyx is having a bit of an existential crisis, not that he wants anyone to know that. Aside from sitting around and playing on his sitar all day, he hasn't been doing too much, besides chatting and being amiable.
CR wanted: I will take any and all CR. He's relatively new. The power of friendship is like magic to these KH kids.
Things to avoid: Nah nothing. He's said he's a Nobody to someone, but not explained it much. He'd like that not to come out. (Fat chance of that)
