Test Drive 020
Welcome to the Test Drive Meme! Here is the place to see how your character might fit the setting, grab samples and have fun!
1. Post with your character, including their name and series in the subject. We’ve written out some prompts but feel free to make up your own, you have a whole train to play with!
2. Assume they've been around long enough for threads to jump right into the action.
3. Have lots of fun.
Happy testing!
Crisis On... An Aeroplane
The train has a game carriage and the VR video games are always popular. A good way to relive boredom as well as teaching some good skills.
Crisis on...This game can be played with two to four players. It is essentially a crisis simulator mixed with an escape room. You can chose the scenario (the bridge of a space ship, a camp in a jungle, a high rise building, a sailing ship etc) and you are thrown into the middle of a crisis of some kind. Teamwork and a cool head are important as is using the surroundings wisely.
Here you are the crew of a small aeroplane in desperate trouble and attempting to land, the wind is strong, your engines are straining and the visibility is near zero. Can your crew land safely?
Dressing up
The Voidtreckers have a new mission and the dressing carriage is open for their convenience...
The mission is taking them to a circus and the clothes sure reflect that. Clown costumes, glittery leotards, many feathers and an overabundance of sequins.
There is make up and facepaint provided as well, hopefully there are enough voidtreckers with expertise to make it look convincing.
Clowning Around
Strange happenings have been happening in Kilpi, a monster ridden land and joining a performing troupe is the best bet of protection outside of the small settlements. The voidtreckers are masquerading as one such troupe, in order to help out a small settlement that has seen a spate of killings. Voidtreckers must put on the show of their lives, investigate the killings and bring peace back to the town.Team One
Setting up the stage for the performance is a good time for building bonds with the towns people. Everyone knows something, no matter how small and they are more likely to gossip with stage hands than talk to the town guard.
Gather information, set up a stage and get ready for the show.Team Two
The killings always happen in the evening or at night, always when people are alone. So making sure people are not alone is the task of team two. The show is ready, it is big, it is loud and hopefully enough to draw in the whole town.
Eat fire, juggle, walk that tightrope. Music plays, sequins glitter. The show is a distraction and their task is to be the best distraction they can be.Team Three
Whilst team two are distracting it is team threes chance to catch the killer. The streets are deserted, quiet and stealth is necessary to remain undetected.
Most people are at the show, but not everyone. Are they in danger? Or are they potential suspects.

Yurine/Shinjuku | Karas | OTA
While not a fighter herself, Yurine is, at least, no stranger to watching without being seen. She feels better in a city, even if it's not hers and barely big enough to even be called a village. She isn't a performer, however, so that leaves either standing around and doing nothing or looking for a killer.
She knows what she'd rather be doing.
She doesn't exactly blend in, what with her white hair and her tail poking out of her skirt, but she is quiet, and humans don't typically notice her, anyway. She's not concerned about being caught, even if she probably should be. This isn't Shinjuku and things probably work differently, but she's too stubborn, perhaps. Or too old.
She's managed to find a stranger, wandering the dark streets alone and seemingly unaware that they're being watched. She's keeping a careful eye on them, close enough to see what they're doing, far enough to make a quick escape if she needs to.
If only she had a bodyguard.
A Purr-fect Afternoon
[A small, white cat is wandering her way around the train, poking her nose into whatever cars will let her in, occasionally seating herself in the middle of a walkway and just watching the people moving around the train, her tail twitching back and forth, seemingly oblivious to how much she is in the way.
At other times, she's positioned herself in a comfortable little nook, curled herself into a ball, and silently judges the other passengers from out of the way in her perch.
This is all very strange.]
Purr-fect
Having fun exploring?
Re: Purr-fect
This place feels strange.

It is. Probably more for you. I've barely been out of Shinjuku, but you're not supposed to leave.

Optimism doesn't change much.

... I've told a few that I was chosen by the will of the city. Didn't tell them who you are. Or what happened with my soul. Some of them know about... the loose ends I was tying up while you were gone.
[He squeezes her a little, trying to draw comfort.]
They don't judge or blame me for that, either.

Team Three: in which Azula stalks a cat stalking a killer?
She wants this mission to be a success. She needs to convince herself that her efforts and talents will not be wasted with this team of misfits.
Speaking of her compatriots, she spies someone familiar and begins following at a distance. She seems to have found someone worth watching.
Turning her attention to the target Yurine is stalking she studies them carefully. How much of a threat are they?]
stalkerception~~
She raises one silent hand in a signal to the person behind her to wait. They may or may not follow, but it nothing else she'll find out soon what their intentions are.]
no subject
Because the person they are following seems to be picking up speed and moving in the direction of an alleyway between two houses. Did someone else go down there? Is he moving on a target? As much as she wants to just order him to stop Azula keeps quiet and hangs back. Let's see what this stranger can do about it.]
no subject
She turns to face this person who's decided to follow her in a half-moment that she can spare before she has to track that person again before they run off.
What an angry looking person. She waves a hand at her, though, in a sort of "are you coming" gesture. She looks capable enough of dispatching the one they're following if necessary.]
meow
[... Ow. He should know better than to try peeking at random beings' strength, he learned that lesson in Elsewhere.]
[He crouches in front of her, smiling. He doesn't know what she is, only that she's powerful.]
Hello, there. And how are you doing today?
Re: meow
After a moment, she takes a few cautious steps forward and sniffs at the glow on his leg. What is that?]
no subject
It lets me do a few things... seeing how powerful someone is happens to be one of those things. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have pried... I could just tell you weren't a normal cat.
[He offers a hand to her, as if to shake.]
I'm Casper. I... uh. In my world I'm a demigod, technically.
no subject
She sniffs at his fingers for another second, then drops the cat shape entirely. If only she could have a conversation that way.]
Casper the demigod. Stuck in a place like this.
no subject
Yeah... I was stuck in a similar place before, though not on a train. We were just kind of in a place between worlds and got sent there directly instead of needing to go to a platform.
Anyway, what's your name?
no subject
[There's a short, almost imperceptible pause before she answers his question.]
Yurine.
no subject
Nice to meet you.
[He holds his hand out to her to shake, but will drop it if she doesn't seem to be into that.]
Well, I didn't come here on purpose... I was kind of trying to get to my boyfriend's world. And here a lot of my abilities that relate to moving between worlds and shaping the stuff in liminal spaces seems to have been shut off, which is... annoying.
no subject
They want us trapped. Why make it easier for us?
no subject
Yeah, I kind of figured. It's still really annoying... I don't mind my roommates, but I miss being able to create my own room.

A Purr-fect Afternoon
What if someone steps on you? {She holds open her arms, offering safety.} I can take you to the garden.
