 We hope everyone had a fun month! Some information for your ongoing journey.

IC Month

This month is the month of Jelly. Days can be found here.

The thought of the month is “No-one is useless in these worlds who lightens the burdens of another.”

This means: Tagging into other characters’ top levels or posts will earn you two bonus points during January and February.

Threads that fulfil this criteria can be submitted during February AC. You may find it easier to keep a tracking list of threads for easy compiling of bonus AC! As a note: Though there is no thread length minimum we will be keeping an eye on thread lengths to make sure that people are committing to the threads they tag into.

The ingredient of the month is avocado. Recipes are here. All the ingredients can be found in the storeroom and characters are welcome to make other food with them.

This month’s chore assignments are:

Blue: Cleaning kitchen and bathrooms
Purple: Cleaning bedrooms and passenger areas
Red: Meal Preparation
Orange: Laundry

Important Dates

This month’s event will be a world event on the 11th of January. (An info and plotting post will go up on Thursday the 7th)

The TDM will be posted on the 17th. Reserves will open on the 19th. Apps are between the 22nd and the 29th. AC will run from the 23rd to the 31st of January.

Other Info

~ On missions and other events we often have the opportunity to interact with NPCs to gather some extra information, learn more about the world and generally make connections with the people who inhabit the world the Voidtreckers are currently helping. In order to help expand how many people who can interact with NPCs and free up some mod time during missions we are inviting players to volunteer as NPC controllers. For more information and to sign up if you wish please go here!

~ Secondly, we are going to put up a document for assumed behaviours and actions in missions. This means, in broad strokes, what characters can expect to be happening before, during and after missions that doesn’t need to be written out every time and can be assumed to be happening even if players (i.e of healer characters or team leads) are busy. The general structure of a mission. Do teams have meetings? Covering what, generally? Are characters asked to take certain supplies or stay in groups? Are medically trained characters manning the triage and medical carriages? How about when the train isn’t on-world? What items and supplies are in general use?

This post will not be to record your individual characters’ actions during missions, but to establish what preparations are occurring and general ‘recurring actions’, so that character efforts will not go unnoticed during missions. A post for putting together this document will go up later today and be overseen by Elle!mod is now up, here!.

~ A quick reminder about the network on the train. The ICP system is a simple one, with the ability for characters to use voice or video to talk to other on the train. It’s a fancy tannoy system with no way for posts to be saved to be looked at or responded to later. It has no ability to be filtered to one person- the most privacy that can be found is through sending the message to one carriage or one cabin. If you want to limit who can hear/see your post please use [From: X CARRIAGE. TO: Y CARRIAGE]. This means that things discussed on the ICP openly are likely to be overheard by other characters. It also means other people can join in your conversations though, as ever you should take care to ask everyone involved in a thread before threadjacking to make sure it is alright! There is the ability to use the SCA’s to speak to ‘All’, to your ‘team’ and to individuals. This function is only available on missions. For more information on the SCA please go here

About them: From Yu-Gi-Oh. Intense gamer, dragon admirer, tech visionary, and perpetual second-placer.
Plans: Last month's events have sent him on a journey of trying to find a purpose (because he's not happy just living, geez what a weirdo). The first thing he's trying is going back to video game design: he'll be making some purchases for new equipment to supplement the available VR games with his own, and supporting Yugi in designing a new one. If there are any other devs, they're welcome to join.

He also might aggressively hit the gym/let fight club take a few swings at him, because he needs to get better at self defense.
CR wanted: More friends and rivals? He's...awkward and retreated into his shell a little, but he's still learning how to people!
Things to avoid: I'm fine with everything.

About them: From Puella Magi Madoka Magica. A powerful but lonely magical girl, she's also a supreme chef and professional worrywart.
Plans: She'll be helping prepare the new food items Senku brought, continuing to learn relaxation techniques to teach, and primarily doing healing duty on the upcoming mission. She's learned she can't be spending her mana on combat when the injuries pile up. Her main duty is to keep everyone safe, and she wants to be better at it!
CR wanted: I'm hoping to dive a little deeper with her, to have her eventually realize that it's okay to have problems, or not be perfect or have all the answers....just do her best, and it'll be okay.
Things to avoid: Nothing of note!

Character: Koumyou Sanzo (BLUE TEAM)

About them: From Saiyuki, a Buddhist high priest whose last memory on his world is his own death to save his adopted son's life. He's a total troll, and loves to act the fool. "I can't tell if you're a genius or a moron" is something that's been said to him more than a few times in canon. You can get more info about him on his journal, including his app!

Plans: The crazy-intense and fast CR that is his relationship with Devero is still going full steam ahead. (It's easily over a thousand comments just between those two, now.)

What this means for anyone else: Koumyou has officially given up on staying completely distant from everyone. It is now much more possible to get meaningful stuff with him, without even having to find him in the Feelings Spa first.

He'll still be reserved and aloof under the friendliness, you can't flick that off like a light switch... but it's now a lot easier to get past that layer of his personality without him deliberately nailing up boards to keep everyone out.

Also he's been moved to 3-C as of this upcoming platform.

CR wanted: All of it! I still want to do goofy shit with him, too, and he won't have lost that magic touch of "I give zero shits what random people think of me". (He's just more likely to let people leave that "random people" category, now.)

Things to avoid: I can't think of anything but I'm not shy about speaking up before something's a problem, if anything comes up!

About them: Karas. Batman, but make it Japanese, magic, and edgier. Otoha's a former yakuza enforcer turned city guardian. It's hard to break through his shell and he is physiologically incapable of feeling pain.
Plans: idk I'm just getting started. It will partly depend on the world info but Otoha's largely going to be getting used to Passenger life. He will probably be injured at some point, possibly multiple times, because that's just his life. He's going to spar whoever he can find because he will be bored easily.

Also some of that injuring will probably be in meal prep, because he doesn't know how to cook very well and also can't feel pain so like... whoops.
CR wanted: Healers, people who are good at breaking down the shells of grumpy people, people to spar with, anyone with a similar mafia/yakuza background...
Things to avoid: Karas is pretty trigger-heavy so it's more likely that I'll be avoiding things.

Character: Senku Ishigami (ORANGE TEAM)

About them: Senku is from the anime/manga Dr. STONE. He has a great many roles, but most notably he is a huge walking encyclopedia for scientific knowledge in the realms of any and all hard sciences as he's been studying them since he was a small child. At home he's chief of his village, a general for the Kingdom of Science, the only doctor/surgeon and in charge of the Science Team/Spartan Crafting Club.

Since boarding the train, Senku has found himself in the kitchen a lot more than he thought he would, applying his food chemistry knowledge to good use. At stops he's constantly foraging while doing other chores and always has at least one project in the works. He's socially awkward and cannot do small talk to save his life, but he is all up in those science facts - at least until he gets to know you.

Thanks to the events of December, he's a member of the Science Team on board, as well as the White Team, as a doctor, despite the fact he has not learned any healing magic.


Plans: This month, through pure happenstance and good timing - It is Senku's birthday! He is turning 3739, or 20 if you want to know how old he is physically. Gen is planning him a party.

He will be making chocolate and cocoa powder with the beans he picked up on the last mission. Yes, that is one of the ingredients this time, but if Senku doesn't make his, presumably after this month the ingredients will be gone otherwise.

He is finishing up the bearskin blankets for his friends, and can be caught sewing quite a bit more often than one would think. He has extra materials, it's quite possible he'll make the offer open for requests to keep himself busy.

Presumably getting off the train, he'll be taking it upon himself to organize foraging, just like he volunteered at the big meeting.

CR wanted: Anything and everything, give it all to me. He's got a lot going on, lots of opportunities there, he's also a semi-social person these days. He does not read social cues well, despite his best efforts.

Things to avoid: Not with me, but to stay in Senku's good graces, it is wise not to grab, embrace or touch him. Most people can get away with something of a tug to the hand/wrist/forearm that surprises him, but crowding him or touching him is a huge no go for him. It's the fastest way to negative CR.

About them: She's from Detective Conan, which is that detective anime that won't end. She's one of several high school detectives, is neck deep in the spoilers, and cares a lot about her family. She's also got a number of secrets that she will not talk about, even on the train.
Plans: She's going to be trying to spend some time in the training gym before the train inevitably drops another mission on everyone. She got pretty badly hurt during the last one, and doesn't want that to happen again.

Since some of the help she received on the last mission involved showing her the very basics of how to use a sword, she'll also be trying to follow up on that in the training gym, as a backup method of self defense.
CR wanted: Not really, but perhaps people she can spar with?
Things to avoid: Nope!

Character: Siebren de Kuiper (Sigma) (Orange Team)
About them: Siebren is a shield tank from Overwatch, one of Blizzard's many games with very little lore, which is Fun 8D He's an astrophysicist with gravity powers and a hell of a lot of psychological issues to go with it. He's good in a fight, but rather dislikes violence; he much prefers science, and he enjoys working with people. He's a fairly friendly human who's hiding a whole lot of trauma under the surface, and he'd honestly rather not think about that latter part.
Plans: He's working on a few projects, but honestly I'm looking forward to seeing what this mission will bring. Long-term plans include getting close enough to people to let them in on his secrets, but that's still a ways into the future.
CR wanted: GIVE ME EVERYTHING. He likes kids, he gets along with most people, and he's snarky as hell when the situation calls for it. I'm up for just about anything, so let's do it.
Things to avoid: If you're going to get into mind-reading or anything that could potentially trigger him, I'd prefer to discuss it beforehand, or I'll let you know if a tag goes too far in that direction. Otherwise, I personally am up for whatever.

About them: From a Yu-gi-oh au fanfic. As such Silvia is into a variety of games, including but not limited to duel monsters. Before arriving here she recently moved from the Chicago area to Japan. A bit on the shy side, she finds it daunting to have been separated from her bff and support system but she's working on it! She adores cosplay but can get a bit to invested in the roles that come with them.
Plans: Nothing super specific, I'd like to see her getting out there and making some more friends, coming more out of her shell. Silvia feels a little at a loss with why she's here, and what she's meant to learn from this, which wasn't shifted by her conversation with the train. She's still super worried about her family, and needs to get more out of her own head.

She does appreciate the interactions she's had both with the rest of the Yu-gi-oh cast and some of the other passengers but sometimes she feels like she's imposing on them, not that she's fessed up to this concern openly.

Oh! I'd also like to find a reason to start getting her artifact into the mix. The Ocular Talisman is an ornate hand chain she keeps with her but she hasn't realized it's true power.

About them: Final Fantasy 7 compilation, post AC. He's a Turk which essentially means he's one half yakuza and one half professional [insert profession here], aka: jack-of-all-trades. Mostly good at assassination, kidnapping, investigation into crazy plots, and the occasional bodyguarding of VIPs. He's a bit of a friendly asshole when he's not being a complete jackass. Looks lazy, acts lazy, actually dedicated to work and always gets the job done. He speaks in disrespectful slang most of the time though I try not to throw in the English equivalent (the "yo" at the end) too often.
Plans: Not really. Nothing that concerns the masses. Close CR kinda knows where he's going atm. He's a shitshow rn tbh. But other than that just trying to get him to finally make some friends.
CR wanted: Anything is good! He's perfectly capable of being negative CR as well as being friendly CR. I'd avoid the word "positive" if only because he's a bad influence. >X3

Plans: Allen's only 100% plan is to talk to Bulla during a sparring session so who knows how that will go. Otherwise, Allen will pretty much focus on preparing for the upcoming mission and relaxing when he isn't.
CR wanted: More people to call him out on stuff or just friends in general, people to really push his buttons to.
Things to avoid: Considering the extent of stuff Allen has been through there is very little that I would avoid.

About them: High school detective, murder magnet and mystery geek. Currently living in hiding as first grader Conan Edogawa due to an encounter with a dangerous crime syndicate and their experimental poisons. Is not actually very good at living in hiding, considering he can't resist solving any of the cases that keep showing up right in front of him.
Plans: Deal with the fallout of Ran finding out some of the things he's been lying to her about. Depending on how badly it goes, he may be needing distractions soon.
CR wanted: Any kind of CR is good. He's someone that isn't actually very good at making friends, but really needs them.

About them: Final Fantasy X protag, an easy-going guy who is fairly social. His emotions can get the better of him at times, but he's otherwise a normal dude.
Plans: No grand plans! It will be mission time so there will be a period of preparing some extra meals for the missions to be stored. There's still some bear to be stripped down and cooked, which Senku has helped him with in the past. But other foods can be cooked if anyone wants to do that with. Tidus despite appearances does know how to cook...!!

Otherwise, he may be around the gyms training, playing sports. He's also looking for more activities to keep him busy, especially with his hands. So he'll be keeping an eye on what people are doing! If your character is doing any prep or easy to join in work of any kind, let us do somethiiing.

About them: A very kindhearted boy, Romeo's best friend and fellow (ex)chimney-sweep. Heee's also dead as of his canonpoint. Mind the content warnings on his permissions!
Plans: None for him - though please ping me if you want a tagout (and this goes for both of mine); I may like log-wandering to make new CR, but I lack the spoons to do so as much as I'd like. X'D
CR wanted: He could always use more friends - maybe more people to remind him of his sister and the other Black Brothers?

About them: He's from the game Dead Cells. I pulled him before he learns the truth of the whole situation so he's just very "swiggity swoogity the world's gone to shit." He's got a very relaxed fuck everything kind of attitude because things are so far from okay what are you supposed to do? He has like 0 reverence for the dead and seem to have the brain cells to put together the story of what happened on the island from minimal clues.

If you want a sparring partner this guy's your guy, especially if you like fighting against a man who can turn literally anything into an improvised weapon. Outside of that please say hello to the resident corpse with fire for a head. Yes the fire is hot. Don't touch it.

He's been on the train before so he knows sign language, but he will fall back to charades and, ultimately, writing in his journal if needed. Yes it was suggested he get a text to speech thing, I guarantee you don't want that to happen.
Plans: WHERE ARE MY FRIENDS *batman voice* WHERE ARE THEY -- readjusting to train life, mostly, despite him not leaving as far as he is aware. So, more like adjusting to all of the new people that are suddenly here.

Things to avoid: I got nothin'
Note: His icons are comprised of the emotions he shows in the animated trailers, but he doesn't actually have an eye. The fireball comes to a swirl around (for lack of a better term) a crystal, such as here or here, though the brightness depends on the color of the fire. Sometimes the fire will turn black and grow low and the crystal is a bit more apparent. The icons are just a short hand way for me to describe the emotion his body language is giving off. Feel free to misinterpret his body language and his charades as freely as you want because I started playing him with the intention of interactions being relatively comedic.

About them: He's Untamed-verse!
Plans: Despite the icons, he's not blind anymore! His vision is restored and no longer wearing the blindfold, so he's now he's more efficient with his chores and is able to work on the missions independently without much assistance, and reading books and watching movies is a great joy. On missions, he finds it easier to work with supplies and be a caregiver/healer type, so he won't be doing combat at all, even though he's a swordsman. He helps prepare on the camp base.
CR wanted: Open to all or any! New CR and friendship alike
Things to avoid: He's open to any CR. But he is low-key dating Xue Yang

About them: Canon is The World Ends With You. Neku's a kid from Shibuya, Tokyo who loves street art a lot more than people and used to be about as friendly as a cactus. He's gotten a little better after being basically forced to make friends in order to survive the last couple weeks, but he's still a little prickly.
Plans: Neku's brand news, so I don't have much planned for him yet. He'll hate being stuck on the train with so many people, but he'll just have to get used to it.

He's arriving with a set of pins that give him various kinesis abilities (except the monkey one, that one heals) so that's fun.
CR wanted: Anything? He's bad at making friends even when he's not actively disliking people, but sometimes he succeeds. Eventual sparring partners would be cool, so he can test his pins on them.
Things to avoid: No graphic descriptions of animal/people abuse or injuries, for me please. For him, he doesn't have a lot of triggers, but he does have a good amount of trauma due to having seen several people basically die in front of him (including himself), losing a close friend (and being consumed by guilt about it)

Character: Noctis Lucis Caelum (AU-CRAU) (Purple Team)
About them: Final Fantasy XV. Back home, he's prince of a broken country. In space, he's a pilot. Here, he's just a somewhat grumpy mostly-blind guy. He sat out the last mission due to hiatus, and is trying to get out of the 'being useless' rut he occasionally falls into.
Plans: I'd like for someone to help him cook a food. He's gotten pretty good at prepping things and not cutting his fingers off, but he's yet to touch anything that generates heat. Other than that, he's been working through the braille book he got about an IC month ago...slowly.
CR wanted: As always, more friends. Sparring partners. Fishing enthusiasts?
Things to avoid: See Neku's above for mine. For him, just don't talk about vegetables, he hates them that much (though he's getting a little better at that. Slowly).

About them: Demon/Serpent of Eden who loves the world and it's humans too much to do anything more than annoy them. Stopped the apocalypse with the help of his best friend (and love of his life), the angel Aziraphale. Having been on the train some time, he's found himself emotionally bonded to Alice Liddell thanks to some events on another world.
Plans: Crowley doesn't really participate in missions. This is partially due to his own apathy and also because I can't follow them at all, and I've really tried. That being said, I will want something for him to do onboard, or, if you can give him a very specific task/thread on-world (like come retrieve my character from xyz or something) I can focus solely on that.
CR wanted: Any friends, enemies, other odd children to look after, all that is good.
Things to avoid: not really.

He's been through a slew of things including kind of being responsible for a murder, making a deal with a magical forest, and recently on the train losing his boyfriend.
Plans: I also have zero plans whatsoever for him. Come at me with any ideas you might have.
CR wanted: Anything except romance, because he's very attached and loyal to Ronan, even if Ronan isn't here. But anything else, friends, enemies, found family, etc, I'm open to!

About them: Devero's an OC from a tech-forward, queer-friendly, neurodivergence accommodating, gender-neutral, socialistic sci-fi utopia! He is a Very Large Soft Man with a LOT of weird assumptions about the way society works. (More info on that here.) He thought he was a Grizzled Combat Veteran until he arrived on the train and met real grizzled combat veterans. He is technically a cyborg, but he can't do anything interesting without technology from his world, so he's the worst cyborg ever.
Plans: Currently Devero is spending a LOT of time with his boyfriend Koumyou. He's also been spending a lot of time in the gyms trying to brush up on hand-to-hand combat skills, with increasing fervor as the time for his first mission approaches. He's nervous about going into a fight without his power armor mech suit around him.

CR wanted: If any of the fighty training types are interested, I'd love for him to get some fighting lessons (starting with 'what the hell are you trying to do, dude?', perhaps, since he's very out of practice). Science Team CR is very much wanted. Otherwise, he's still super new and has been pretty fixated on Koumyou, so come at him with anything! Positive, negative, culture clash-- I'm down!

Whoops, forgot to add: being separated from the ubiquitous tech and network access of his world is kind of starting to really fuck with him, so getting to play with that with someone would be excellent.

Things to avoid: OOCly I have no triggers or limits. However, Devero has profound relationship abuse and sexual trauma in his backstory. See here for warnings and opt-in.

Plans: Not a whole lot, but Rich is making a lot of friends, seems to be latching on to Devero as a support, and also just met Handsome Jack and is FREAKING OUT ABOUT THAT. He might make a warning post about SQUIPs and other dangerous mind hijacky AI, just to be safe, so let me know if you're interested in that?
CR wanted: Up for anything! People to slowly help him decide what he wants to do with his time here in particular would be awesome. He wants to help but kind of... doesn't know where to start. Other than that, friends, flirting buddies, enemies, I'm up for anything!!!
Things to avoid: Can't think of anything really, but if he trusts in someone enough to divulge some of his heavier backstory stuff, negative CR is still fine as long as we don't get into like. Doubting the abuse he's gone through.
