Planning and Plotting

Okay...Not everyone uses Plurk or Discord, or either, even. And that's causing a lot of confusion.

Also, one thing I would like to discuss is...if we wait until the 5th to start the Council meeting, and not discuss anything until then officially...how can our characters react on the same or next day, when nothing gets decided due to the players availability for 2-4 weeks?

I'm just saying...it's awkward.

My suggestion is to start that post now, so at least the topics can be introduced and people who aren't going to be available in December can participate too. That way, as players recover from the missions at their own speed, they can insert themeslves in where appropriate.

Also, we need, as several suggested in Discord, to start discussing meta stuff in the OOC channel where everyone has access 😊

Hi all,

I have no solution to the platform divide (Disco vs plurk) and where plotting happens. But this section here is for comments to brainstorm ideas and solutions. Our goal should be that we reasonably include everyone we can when letting people know stuff OOCly, accounting for time-zones, busy-life schedules, and different platforms of communication.

Which all starts with this here OOC Comm. How do we make it better/easier to communicate with each other! BRAINSTORMING IS GO!.

Already said this on Discord to ya, but it'd be perfect to bring up that while we have one OOC comm, in my personal opinion, there could/should be a plotting specific OOC comm that doesn't have memes entangled within it. Strictly for plotting things so that it can be found and seen easier.

TL;DR
Another OOC comm just for ooc plottings in more major things going on should be implemnted

I think in regard to the usage of this OOC community, being open to getting reminded to post things here and being willing to politely remind people to post things here would be very helpful.

Just popping in to say. Generally the less places people need to check the better so I would be wary of a plotting comm. However I can easily make a !plotting tag so plot entries can be easily filtered out of the other ooc posts

That IS a good point too, more comms would equal more confusion in that sense.. but a !plotting tag would be a fantastic trade off to another comm

My suggestion would be to keep any important discussions up on the OOC community on Dreamwidth so that players don't get left out because they don't use either Plurk or Discord. Then all the important plotting is happening in a place that everyone uses and has access to.

This is for OOC discussion...like if YOU think something needs to be addressed but your character could care less, or runs screaming from the very idea of meetings.

If you would like something brought up at the meeting, feel free to mention it here as well, so your issue does not get lost in the shuffle.

Curufin won't run screaming at the idea of a meeting, and he'll even SHOW UP! lol

Do you have a suggested date for the meeting? I was hoping we could wait until the current train-wide meeting comes to a finish, to avoid the confusion of two decision-making bodies meeting at the same time.

Issues I think should be brought up:
--I'm not sure how many Council members are actually left, and I haven't yet compared my old list to the Passenger Roster to see who is still on the train. Do we need to have another election?
--And for that matter, what is the purpose of the Council? Do we actually need a Council, now that so many people are becoming engaged in decision-making and collaborative projects? Is there anything the Council could be responsible for that other passengers could not or would prefer not to be?

Apart from the OOC Info posts for missions - where questions are asked and plots can be started/initially voiced - and the occasional post discussing one or two characters arranging something (like a club, or literal plots in the garden), a general OOC-discussion post isn't something I've seen here before.

I do agree there should be a !plotting tag, though, perhaps including the Information posts for each month?
