Pumpkin Patch

It seems the ingredient of the month is pumpkins. The store room is full of them, in all sort of sizes all ready to be made into delicious meals. Pumpkin soup, roasted pumpkin seeds, stuffed pumpkin, pumpkin pancakes, pumpkin pie. All the recipes are on the ICP and are easy enough to follow, even for those who have never seen a pumpkin before in their life.

Get cooking or perhaps passengers from worlds with Halloween festivals wish to carve the pumpkins first, creating grotesque faces or fancy works of art.

Hopefully no one eats a masterpiece!

Movie Wars

The Cinema carriage is as tall as a double carriage, but has only the one floor. Instead it features sloped seating. To enter the carriage from the sleeper carriage side you must first go upstairs. You enter at the top of the carriage, in the centre aisle with paired seating sloping downwards on either side. On the opposite wall there is a large screen and there is a door to the left of the screen once you get to ground level, to allow you into the next carriage.

On the right of the screen there is an ICP and in this carriage it has a catalogue of films and TV series. There are hundreds to chose from.

Hundreds of films to chose from and hundreds of passengers to share it with. Choosing what to watch can be difficult, agreeing what to watch can be impossible.

Are they a fan of Merry Little Voidtrain- the long running cartoon series about a Voidtrain and captain Kheli. Or perhaps a hard hitting drama about cross alien-species romance. Or an action film? A heal tapping musical about robot mice?

Choose a film, try not to argue, grab some popcorn and hope your fellow cinema goers understand cinema etiquette...

Spookstown

A series of mysterious events have struck a small town. The Voidtreckers are in need of help.

The train has brought the Voidtreckers to the town of Carcel. It is a small town with a small population in a world that is low in technology. A town of cobbled streets lined with gas lanterns. The occasional carriage drawn by strange creatures with six legs and long necks. The town is far away from any of the larger population centres of the world and yet it is here where the Voidtreckers must help.

A series of strange disappearances have rocked the town. People vanishing, sometimes from the streets but more recently from their own homes. To make matters worse the town is plagued by ghosts, invisible yet dangerous. They attack by manipulating the environment, throwing knives, tables and even people across a room. The town has descended into chaos and are in desperate need of help.

Team One

There has been some investigation into the missing people and there have been rumours of cries for help in the woods.

A thick, dark, slightly scary woods. The townspeople who are left have lanterns to borrow and promises that the path is safe and easy to follow. Don't worry about that howling, it's just the wind...

Team One must make their way through the woods to find the missing townspeople. Unfortunately for the Voidtreckers the cries and calls for help don't come from the safe paths and so they must move through the undergrowth to find the lost and confused townspeople. What's that creaking noise? Is that a shadow? What lurks in the bushes?

Team Two

Back in the village team two must try and help the villagers who are plagued by ghosts. The ghosts roam around unhindered by walls or doors. Sometimes they are just mischievous, blowing out lanterns, knocking books off shelves. Other times they are violent, throwing objects, throwing people, locking people in or out of their houses.

Protecting people against invisible enemies is no easy task. Help the town gather together, set up barricades, try and hide any dangerous objects before they can be used against the townspeople.

Or perhaps try out some traditional ghostbusting techniques. What harm can it do?

Team Three

Of course all this must have been caused by something. It seems some of the towns teenagers had found a strange cave in their ramblings not a week before. It had been full of strange objects, small gems, daggers, ancient books.

All the sort of things that probably should not be taken from their ancient resting place but of course someone had taken something. Maybe. Few of the teenagers are willing to talk and those that do are unwilling to get their friends into trouble.

Investigate, try and convince them to do the right thing. Round up the items that have been taken and return them to the cave. Hopefully that will end this nightmare!

Link turned, startled to hear his name from someone who was unfamiliar to him.

“Hello,” he said quietly, yet pleasantly. “Can I help you?”

Children were usually drawn to him, so he wasn’t overly surprised to see such a young face addressing him.

Clef sank down on his spit of floating land, tears filling his eyes. He swallowed hard a few times, then said the only thing that could actually escape his lips. "Did you have to go and get EVEN taller?"

That wasn't the first thing he had wanted to say, but it was the first thing that he managed to say. He floated closer, taking in the differences. But he answered to Link, so this wasn't like Shadow this time, right?

“I...uh...I’m sorry?” The hero offered.

“I’m really only tall compared to the Kokiri or Skullkid.”

"Or your father," he said, grumpily.

He landed on the ground and dropped his shield, unmaking the dirt and grass he'd been standing on. He opened his arms, leaving his staff to float beside him. "c'mere, my boy. i have missed you."

Wait. What?

“I technically never met my father. Unless you mean the Great Deku Tree, but, I...I’m not taller than he was...oh...”

Uncertainty flickered in his blue eyes. He was equal parts compassionate and confused.

“I’m afraid you have me confused with someone else—-or...is this a make believe game?”

He looked stricken and stumbled back a step. "Oh," he said softly. He retrieved his staff. "It is like the situation with Zelda then. You are another lifetime of my Link." He floated up, ground forming under him, a bubble around him and the ground. "I appologize, Link. I will, as I am with Zelda, attempt to get to know this version of you. I will not attempt to love you, for now attempt is needed. Any version of you is the son whom I shall always love."

“Zelda’s—-the Princess is here?”

He straightened himself immediately, glancing around as if she might be hiding behind a pumpkin.

“That’s probably not great for Hyrule...” Link muttered to himself.

He looked back at the stranger and felt a little lost. “I fear I’m at a disadvantage. You know my name, but, I don’t know yours.”

"One of her lifetimes is. She said she mostly spends time growing things, I can take you if you like. And.. you may call me Clef if.. if you are not comfortable calling me... anything else."

“The Royal Family does lack creativity in naming their daughters.”

Having traveled through time as much as he had, he was willing to accept it could be a different girl.

[guru_clef]

"You are likewise always named Link," he said with a small sadly affectionate smile. "I do wonder where on the timeline you are, compared to the Link and Zelda I knew for so long. Perhaps closer to Shadow's time?" Would he know that name?

“I’m—what?”

Without having met Shadow, he’d never thought about a possible reincarnation cycle.

"Thanks to you and Zelda, I haver been studying reincarnation, especially as it applies to Hyrulian history. Sadly my books on the subject are not present. I will attempt to purchase them once I have the points."

“I’m afraid I don’t understand.”

He gave Clef an apologetic smile.

"Ah, my apologies. Would you be willing to move this conversation to a more private local, perhaps a quiet car? Then I will happily explain everything that you wish to know that I know."

“....alright, Clef.” He nodded after a moment’s hesitation.

[guru_clef]

That... hurt. But he held the knowledge of why close and headed towards the quiet car, leading the way. "Have you been on the train long m... Link?"

“Not very long. I’ve not met many others yet. I wish I could see how this train works, though, it seems interesting.”

[guru_clef]

"Magic more than science it seems, given it is sentient." He hesitated, then knowing he was going to hate the answer, he asked, "so tell me, this version of you... do you care for reading?"

That was an odd question. “I don’t have much time for it. The ranch keeps me busy.”

He grinned slightly. “But, I don’t mind it so much. Malon reads to me sometimes, and I wouldn’t want to change that.”

"The Link I know hates reading. I will admit it is one of our most common arguments. I, among other things, am a teac... wait. Malon. The redheaded girl? Or am I misremembering names?"

Did EVERYONE in Hyrule reincarnate?

“Mr. Talon’s daughter. We plan on getting married in the Spring, if her father agrees.”

Most people knew Malon. She was hard to miss.

"You have now given me another reason to wish to speak with my Link," he said, unable to hide how amused he is. The shade of red that came to his face whenever someone mentioned that he was in love with his Malon. I do want to do new research on reincarnation in Hyrule, however."

“Why? Are you interested in the goddesses?”

"I am interested in quite a number of topics, but you have now given me cause to expand a previous theory."

They got to the quiet car. He waved a hand and the door opened. Sorry his Link, he's using magic even for that. "After you."

He looked slightly askance at the display of magic, but, went in anyway.
