Film Night

The newest carriage on the Voidtrecker Express is the long awaited cinema! It hosts many films and TV series. Perfect if passengers wish to waste an afternoon without worrying about being stolen from their worlds and hurtling through the void between worlds.

Dashing adventures, chair gripping horrors or adorable adventures of the Merry Little Voidtrain. There is something for everyone, though with only one screen arguments may be inevitable.

Fight Club

The gym carriage is definitely created more for ball games than sparring but that hasn't stopped the passengers adapting as best they can. There are homemade training dummies and plenty of people who use the space to work out and get ready for the next mission.

But there is also a cupboard full of every ball for almost every ball game there is, the two activities in one space may make for a little chaos.

Spar with people, play football. Create some mix of basketball and mixed martial arts. All training counts, right?

Jungle Heights

The latest mission has taken them to a vast jungle, where people live high in the trees. There has been an influx of tree dwelling creatures with sharp teeth, sharper claws and a love of destruction. To make things better the forest floor is not safe, damp and marshy many creatures lurk there ready to bite at ankles and it is home to a root, the sap of which burns.

Team One

Treetop fighting is an acquired skill and one the voidtreckers are having to learn quickly. Swing on vine ropes and tangle with monsters. Quick movement and quicker thinking is needed to take down the creatures in terrain they are naturals at traversing.

Team Two

People here live on platforms in the trees, with bridges and walkways connecting them. Fend off the creatures and chase them away from peoples homes. At least there is slightly solider ground beneath their feet, but they must be careful not to fall to the jungle floor beneath.

Team Three

Many of the people here are not fighters and they need help to get somewhere safer. It's a tough journey through the forest, especially when they leave the bridges and platforms of the village behind. Children may need carried and climbing from one tree to another is difficult even with sturdy branches to walk along.

They must be careful to stay in the trees, avoid getting too close to the forest floor but do not get too high, lest they attract the creatures.

A-Qing has never seen this guy before in her life. Or, no. Yes? In her life, not a chance. Here... well, she's seen him around. Considered nabbing his ticket once, but she checked the roster and he had no points. He'd been spared.

Now she's doubly glad she never tried to steal his ticket, because he just picked that monster up like it was a sack of rice on market day. A few seconds later, there's a dull, crunching thud as it reaches the forest floor. She swallows.

"Yeah!" She blurts out, still too panicked to really dissemble. Her delivery supplies are scattered all over the platform, which means she can drop to her knees and start patting around for them. It covers the wild look in her eyes and gives her time to get herself under control. "My things--"

Wen Ning doesn't relax until he hears the thump of the ape's body hitting the ground. At that point, he sort of comes to his senses and realized the girl is fumbling around reaching for the items scattered around her.

Oh right! She can't see.

"Here," he says, scrambling down onto his hands and knees, doing his best to gather up the items which have rolled away. "Let me help you."

She isn't expecting him to join her. But, picking up a dozen small water gourds and paper-wrapped sandwiches while pretending she can't see them is a huge pain, so she just nods and continues sweeping her hands around until they coincidentally brush against another parcel.

She weighs up the show of strength with how easily he knelt down to help her out. The latter achieves an overwhelming victory.

"T-thanks. Was there only one?" Ah. "Are you okay?"

Once he's gathered a good armful of her items, and it looks like she can handle the rest, he gets back to his feet, waiting to make sure she doesn't need any help standing. If she does, he'll shift his items to one arm and use the other to help her up.

"I'm fine. And yes," he looks around, listening through the chaos for the telltale signs of anything getting too close. "Just one for now."

There could be others coming, and their location is very exposed. "We should get moving, in case more arrive."

She scrambles to her feet easily enough, swaying a little until her elbow hits the tightly-woven rope fencing along the platform edge. He's clearly looking around or listening for more of those monsters, so she feels safer studying him.

His skin is so pale and waxy, it... reminds her... she cuts off the thought, takes a deep breath, and waggles her arms at him. They're crossed in front of her to make a container, which still has plenty of space for the items he's holding. Whatever, right? He looks kind of scary, but he's been nothing but helpful so far.

"Let's go back to the main hall. Did you find any of my stuff? Give it to me, in case you need to fight again."

Wen Ning nods, then feels a bit silly when he realizes she probably has no idea he just nodded.

"Sure. Here you go."

He hands over the various items he picked up, pausing to make sure she can hold them all safely, then turns to head back to the main hall.

At least... He thinks it was this way? He's a little turned around up here.

She waits a little, to let him look this way and that, and very obviously not start walking anywhere... Huh.

Well, two out of three isn't bad. It's fine if he's not smart. She does some juggling, scooping up the front of her hoodie as a makeshift bag to free one hand to trace along the ropeway, and clears her throat.

"Follow me, okay? I'll lead you back, in payment for saving me and helping out."

He's smart when it counts. When it comes to vanquishing resentful spirits or defeating monsters, he's plenty smart. But... actual day-to-day stuff? Yeah, definitely lacking in the smarts department there. That's what his sister is for. Briefly, he spares a thought to hope she's handling herself alright, wherever she is right now. He would hate to lose her again, so soon after getting her back.

"Ah--! Alright." He follows along like a puppy at its owner's heels, letting her set the pace.
