Test Drive Meme 012

Welcome to our Test Drive Meme! Here is the place to see how your character might fit the setting, grab some samples and start having fun!

1. Post with your character. I’ve written out some prompts but feel free to make up your own, you have a whole train to play with!

2. Assume they have been around long enough for threads to jump right into the action!

3. Have much fun!

Happy testing!

Film Night

The newest carriage on the Voidtrecker Express is the long awaited cinema! It hosts many films and TV series. Perfect if passengers wish to waste an afternoon without worrying about being stolen from their worlds and hurtling through the void between worlds.

Dashing adventures, chair gripping horrors or adorable adventures of the Merry Little Voidtrain. There is something for everyone, though with only one screen arguments may be inevitable.

Fight Club

The gym carriage is definitely created more for ball games than sparring but that hasn't stopped the passengers adapting as best they can. There are homemade training dummies and plenty of people who use the space to work out and get ready for the next mission.

But there is also a cupboard full of every ball for almost every ball game there is, the two activities in one space may make for a little chaos.

Spar with people, play football. Create some mix of basketball and mixed martial arts. All training counts, right?

Jungle Heights

The latest mission has taken them to a vast jungle, where people live high in the trees. There has been an influx of tree dwelling creatures with sharp teeth, sharper claws and a love of destruction. To make things better the forest floor is not safe, damp and marshy many creatures lurk there ready to bite at ankles and it is home to a root, the sap of which burns.

Team One

Treetop fighting is an acquired skill and one the voidtreckers are having to learn quickly. Swing on vine ropes and tangle with monsters. Quick movement and quicker thinking is needed to take down the creatures in terrain they are naturals at traversing.

Team Two

People here live on platforms in the trees, with bridges and walkways connecting them. Fend off the creatures and chase them away from peoples homes. At least there is slightly solider ground beneath their feet, but they must be careful not to fall to the jungle floor beneath.

Team Three

Many of the people here are not fighters and they need help to get somewhere safer. It's a tough journey through the forest, especially when they leave the bridges and platforms of the village behind. Children may need carried and climbing from one tree to another is difficult even with sturdy branches to walk along.

They must be careful to stay in the trees, avoid getting too close to the forest floor but do not get too high, lest they attract the creatures.

The absolute look Aziraphale gives the demon, clearly not having expected such a strong reaction over a simple greeting, and clearly having underestimated just how starved for modern forms entertainment he was. He frowns, but, still ,rolls his eyes and adjusts himself in his seat, looking up at the screen.

"Fine." He rests his hands on his lap and sits nice, proper, and quiet. Probably. But not without muttering under his breath first: "Such a mood."

Aziraphale's muttering has Crowley's head turning to face him again. A Look is returned, as if a huff, and the demon takes a moment to look over the rest of the theater for a moment, assessing how many others are present before responding.

"Fine. It's pointless anyway; I don't even know what I'm watching anymore." he whines, pushing himself up from his seat. "Maybe we could have it out in the dining car instead. Come on, angel."
salutosinedelectat: Stare, confused, annoyed (Rude.)

It perhaps would have served them well to actually give themselves and each other the time to adjust to the fact they are, once again, definitely not on Earth, after everything. So definitely that they aren't even in a proper world to begin with. That would probably explain some things about certain moods.

"What?" Aziraphale watches the demon, now looking rather confused. "We've just got here."
agathokakological: Well alright then. ([167])

[personal profile] agathokakological 2020-05-21 10:11 pm (UTC)(link)
"This isn't the place, angel." he huffs, offering his hand... as if Aziraphale would even want to touch it after Crowley's behavior, but Crowley seems rather insistent, now, his head darting back behind Aziraphale to glare at the people yelling Down in front!

If this goes on for a second longer, he might actually hiss at them. Or worse... show them something unthinkable.
salutosinedelectat: Stare, judging, annoyed (Grounded)

He looks back over the seats when the person yells, now painfully aware that they really are beginning making a scene, which is dreadfully embarrassing. Which they could simply change, now, but...

He looks at the offered hand, and, for a moment, it looks like he might reject the offer. But, instead, he sighs, takes it, and stands.

"Fine. Before we make fools out of ourselves."
agathokakological: Facepalm ([073])

Crowley's eyes roll so hard they nearly fall onto the floor, but he hurries the two of them out and into the next car quickly. Not being amidst a group of people instantly brings Crowley down a few levels, the shoulders that had previously been creeping up and swallowing his neck have fallen, and he sighs a bit in relief.

"Right. Sorry, angel."
salutosinedelectat: Judging, pout, frown, annoyed (Pout)

The angel is surely putting on a brave act of not mightily frowning and failing quite miserably, but the apology does do a lot to assuage his concerns.

"Well..." He hesitates. "I apologize for interrupting the film." An elusive angelic apology, of some sort.
agathokakological: I apologize. ([181])

Crowley shakes his head, leaning forward onto the wall of whatever traincar the ended up in, hissing out a long breath of frustrations, none of which, he realizes, are actually at Aziraphale.

"Don't--" he mutters. "I'm just-- we were supposed to end up home, Angel. In your bookshop, back to normal, not--" he motions, vaguely. "I shouldn't have taken it out on you. Not your fault."
salutosinedelectat: Sad, upset, nervous, scared (Well this sucks.)

[personal profile] salutosinedelectat 2020-05-22 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
And just like, the angel's expression melts away from pouting annoyance into gentle concern.

"Oh--oh, it's alright." He tries to comfort, despite the fact that he's bothered by exactly the same issue. "I mean, sure, we aren't exactly...where we wanted to be," He looks around at the car. They've apparently ended up in the garden coach. He's never seen a train with a garden coach. But, then, he hasn't seen a lot of trains that traverse the empty void between worlds. "But this, hum-- this isn't so bad. Right?" As he tries to sound chipper.
agathokakological: You can stay at my place if you'd like. ([273])

[personal profile] agathokakological 2020-05-25 05:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Crowley sighs, taking a moment to breathe and look about. Aziraphale's right, it really isn't so bad. They may not have the privacy that their little cottage in the middle of nowhere offered, but there's food, and technology, and come to think of it... Crowley doesn't feel hungry or tired. Not in the ways he did on that infernal island.

"Right." he replies, straightening his clothing out and trying to calm his nerves. "No, no, you're right. It's not so bad. It's a step in.. er.. the right direction. I think."

And then, with a sigh, "We're still together."
salutosinedelectat: (Default)

[personal profile] salutosinedelectat 2020-05-25 05:56 pm (UTC)(link)
It goes to show how badly the island shook them up, when the angel is the one comforting the demon. Truth be told, he's also upset about ending up on anywhere but Earth, but at least he doesn't feel as tired as he did for those months. There's food, there's comforts, and while he's sure there's got to be some sort of catch to this, for now, this will suffice. Another End avoided.

He does smile over the comment. "That never does change." Which is the most comforting thing of all, seeing as, time and time again, at least they end up together.

"We'll just have to make the best of it." He falters for a second. "Somehow."

Crowley chuckles for a moment, feeling the tension leave his body while Aziraphale speaks. They've survived worse than this, it's just another frustration and another twist of fate that Crowley wishes he could wrap his head around. Maybe if there was some explanation, if he knew why they ended up here, maybe then he could fix it, or at least understand and compromise.

"And try not to bite each other's heads off in the process." he says, because it's true, and neither of their tempers, despite their fondness for each other, are always in check under so much undue stress.
salutosinedelectat: Talking, nervous (Hey now)

[personal profile] salutosinedelectat 2020-05-28 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
Aziraphale questions that too, of course - the Why. Why are they here? Why were they forced out of Earth, only to end up in these ludicrous places? Why did they loose most of their powers, only to gain them back here? Perhaps that's the worst of it all; asking so many questions of such grandeur is truly a recent thing for him, so he does get stuck in his head about it quite a bit.

"Oh, I'm sure we'll be fine." He tuts, as if experience hadn't taught him just how wrong that could be. "We've certainly been through stickier situations than this." A beat. "Er...well, we've been through a lot, at least."
