Film Night

The newest carriage on the Voidtrecker Express is the long awaited cinema! It hosts many films and TV series. Perfect if passengers wish to waste an afternoon without worrying about being stolen from their worlds and hurtling through the void between worlds.

Dashing adventures, chair gripping horrors or adorable adventures of the Merry Little Voidtrain. There is something for everyone, though with only one screen arguments may be inevitable.

Fight Club

The gym carriage is definitely created more for ball games than sparring but that hasn't stopped the passengers adapting as best they can. There are homemade training dummies and plenty of people who use the space to work out and get ready for the next mission.

But there is also a cupboard full of every ball for almost every ball game there is, the two activities in one space may make for a little chaos.

Spar with people, play football. Create some mix of basketball and mixed martial arts. All training counts, right?

Jungle Heights

The latest mission has taken them to a vast jungle, where people live high in the trees. There has been an influx of tree dwelling creatures with sharp teeth, sharper claws and a love of destruction. To make things better the forest floor is not safe, damp and marshy many creatures lurk there ready to bite at ankles and it is home to a root, the sap of which burns.

Team One

Treetop fighting is an acquired skill and one the voidtreckers are having to learn quickly. Swing on vine ropes and tangle with monsters. Quick movement and quicker thinking is needed to take down the creatures in terrain they are naturals at traversing.

Team Two

People here live on platforms in the trees, with bridges and walkways connecting them. Fend off the creatures and chase them away from peoples homes. At least there is slightly solider ground beneath their feet, but they must be careful not to fall to the jungle floor beneath.

Team Three

Many of the people here are not fighters and they need help to get somewhere safer. It's a tough journey through the forest, especially when they leave the bridges and platforms of the village behind. Children may need carried and climbing from one tree to another is difficult even with sturdy branches to walk along.

They must be careful to stay in the trees, avoid getting too close to the forest floor but do not get too high, lest they attract the creatures.

I don't care how catchy the songs are! Who would think a flower would do something like this?!

... Well, there are carnivorous ones, but... they aren't like this!

[ She chews through the rant, stopping twice to fill her mouth again. Not because the rant is long, but more because this popcorn is delicious. But then she mentions carnivorous plants, and she swallows so quickly she almost chokes. ]

C-carnivorous plants are real?

[ Forget the popcorn. She leans over and tugs on Tsubomi's sleeve. ] Tell me about them!

Eh-eh?! [Well, that's very unexpected!]

Well, I mean, there are all kinds. Pitcher plants, fly traps, flypaper traps... they mostly f-feed on insects...

[ 'Mostly'..? ]

What else? What else do they feed on?

[ Not people, apparently! Or maybe she objects to how much of a jerk the plant is being. She inhales another handful of popcorn, and hopes the explanation is long enough to finish it. ]

[Sadly yhe answer is really quick.]

Well... rats and other rodents, basically. But that's only a few kinds. But there are also varieties that attract insects not to eat them, but their-

[Tsubomi stops. Oh no. Oh nononono. She can't say that out loud.]

[ crap. Mouth still gummed closed with sugar, she mumbles an encouragement after a second or two. ] An' their what?

[ Don't deprive her of cool plant facts! She stares just to the left of Tsubomi's face, eyes wide and expectant. ]

U-uhm. Well.

[She sucks up a deep breath, and squeaks out the answer.]

Poop.

They get nutrients from the insects' poop.

[ wow gross!!!!! Tsubomi has, unfortunately, now awakened in A-Qing an endless hunger for cool plant facts tm, and they are on this topic until the bitter end.

Her own voice doesn't lower at all. ]

Don't they get sick from eating sh-- uh, poop all the time?

[Tsubomi looked up with a start.]

Huh? No, of course not! Stuff like that doesn't affect humans the way it does plants. Besides, feces are often used as a form of manure used to fertilize plants!

[Wasn't this a gross topic only seconds ago?]

[ Things being gross is no reason not to discuss them, obviously!!!

But, huh. She didn't know that. Mostly she just knows that kids that eat stuff from the ground closer to latrines or taverns die faster. ]

Must be nice to be a plant. So how'd you know that there are no plants that eat people?

Well, I mean... science has never discovered one? And besides, my whole family works with plants. My grandmother manages a botanical garden, in fact!
