Test Drive Meme 012
1. Post with your character. I’ve written out some prompts but feel free to make up your own, you have a whole train to play with!
2. Assume they have been around long enough for threads to jump right into the action!
3. Have much fun!
Happy testing!
Film Night
The newest carriage on the Voidtrecker Express is the long awaited cinema! It hosts many films and TV series. Perfect if passengers wish to waste an afternoon without worrying about being stolen from their worlds and hurtling through the void between worlds.
Dashing adventures, chair gripping horrors or adorable adventures of the Merry Little Voidtrain. There is something for everyone, though with only one screen arguments may be inevitable.
Fight Club
The gym carriage is definitely created more for ball games than sparring but that hasn't stopped the passengers adapting as best they can. There are homemade training dummies and plenty of people who use the space to work out and get ready for the next mission.
But there is also a cupboard full of every ball for almost every ball game there is, the two activities in one space may make for a little chaos.
Spar with people, play football. Create some mix of basketball and mixed martial arts. All training counts, right?
Jungle Heights
The latest mission has taken them to a vast jungle, where people live high in the trees. There has been an influx of tree dwelling creatures with sharp teeth, sharper claws and a love of destruction. To make things better the forest floor is not safe, damp and marshy many creatures lurk there ready to bite at ankles and it is home to a root, the sap of which burns.
Team One
Treetop fighting is an acquired skill and one the voidtreckers are having to learn quickly. Swing on vine ropes and tangle with monsters. Quick movement and quicker thinking is needed to take down the creatures in terrain they are naturals at traversing.
Team Two
People here live on platforms in the trees, with bridges and walkways connecting them. Fend off the creatures and chase them away from peoples homes. At least there is slightly solider ground beneath their feet, but they must be careful not to fall to the jungle floor beneath.
Team Three
Many of the people here are not fighters and they need help to get somewhere safer. It's a tough journey through the forest, especially when they leave the bridges and platforms of the village behind. Children may need carried and climbing from one tree to another is difficult even with sturdy branches to walk along.
They must be careful to stay in the trees, avoid getting too close to the forest floor but do not get too high, lest they attract the creatures.
Elena | Compilation of Final Fantasy VII
Elena will strenuously deny it when asked, but she's embarrassingly into Merry Little Voidtrain. She'd first come into the the cinema just to have something to do--there's only so much training a body can take per day, and the other hours between meals and sleeping seem to stretch out endlessly--but now, three or four hours into a marathon hosted by one of the train's resident teenagers, she's hooked. Despite being geared towards little kids, the show (which had seemed so stupid at first) is actually rather charming.
And that song is going to be stuck in her head for days.
She's glad it's dark, because Kheli and her train are currently teaching the world of the week about the value of friendship, and it's way more touching than it has any right to be.
Elena, the newest and youngest member of the elite team of Shin-Ra assassins known as the Turks, lets out a big, audible sniff and rubs at her eyes with the back of her sleeve. It's so pure and wholesome!
ii - fight club
This is more like it.
Elena has stripped down to her polo shirt and shorts, and is currently running through as many katas as she can without another person present. There are training dummies, but it just isn't the same.
After a while she pushes her sweaty bangs out of her eyes and turns.
"Spar with me. I'll go easy on you."
iii - jungle heights | team two
"Ha! That will teach you to mess with Elena of the Turks."
Elena grins triumphantly as the monster falls off the platform, down to the forest floor far below. This is more like it. Disposing of monsters The Turks Way: with the maximum amount of mayhem and violence. No mercy. She roundhouse kicks another monster as it approaches a group of kids, but overbalances when it goes over. Suddenly, she finds herself gripping the edge of the platform, hanging on for dear life.
"Hey! I could use some backup over here!"
film night
Well, maybe Merry Little Void Train is childish, but everyone gets so into it, and there's so much discussion and... what did they call it, 'media analysis', that she can join in with barely any suspicion raised.
"Are you crying?" She whispers, and tries not to sound too scornful. If she starts an argument, it'll drown out the finale. "It's not over yet!"
no subject
"Shut up and watch the show."

Who made the Train be so nice?
no subject
How is this show so precious?
no subject
She misses Daozhang, he's just like the train! He deserves awards, why didn't she ever make him an award?
"This sucks," she says, spitefully, as the reprised and equally irritating theme song starts up over the short credits. "Totally unrealistic. Put the next one on."
no subject
And yet.
There aren’t many dry eyes in the little cinema as the credits roll, and the next episode starts almost immediately. It’s...
A flashback episode, as it turns out. How Kheli and the Train first started traveling together. Elena is on the edge of her seat, shoveling popcorn in her mouth.
The teenager next to her is momentarily forgotten, until there’s the kiddie equivalent of a jump scare while Kheli attempts to escape from the lair of the evil Dr. Murtleflip, and she spills that popcorn all over the both of them in her surprise.

Ugh, this show! It's making her sloppy.
She grabs some of the popcorn on her lap, and stuffs it in her mouth. As retaliation, or something. "What happened? Did she get out?"
no subject
Elena had completely forgotten about the kid next to her. Who is blind. Right. She probably ought to help the girl out. "Yeah, the bird...thing opened the window, and Kheli is climbing down the vines. But--"
She holds tight to the edge of her chair, surprised at how into this she's become.
"The vine just snapped and she's falling. The train might not make it in time."
Of course it will, though, because it's a kids' cartoon. It's a hell of a lot more interesting than what she'd grown up with, though. The Adventures of Stamp just didn't have this kind of suspense.
no subject
Having exactly zero experience of cartoon tropes and a lot of experience with, say, cautionary gossip outside of a town inn, A-Qing is far less confident about Kheli's survival. She shoves another handful of Elena's spilt popcorn into her mouth.
"It'd better," she hisses. "Or I'll..."
She's not sure what she'll do. But as she tries to think of something sufficiently dire, the train sweeps underneath Kheli, one door sliding open to catch her. The music swells in a triumphant crescendo. She almost cheers. "She's okay?!"

iii.
Reno chided her gently as he strolled up casually to the edge of the platform and looked down at her. He didn't appear to be in a rush to help her.
"I know you know it," he said. "You got top marks."
Salt on the wound, perhaps. Reno knew her pride was her biggest downfall. He couldn't really blame her--he had that streak in him, too, especially as a top-notch Turk. But now that she was here, he wasn't alone anymore, and he had to lead the way.
no subject
Her hands are starting to get tired.
“Do you really want to explain to Mr. Tseng and the President that you let me fall to my death on some godforsaken world to prove a point? I know you don’t want to do all that paperwork. Let me up!”
no subject
He bent his upper body down as if he were going to reach out and haul her up but didn't quite finish the reaching out part. He stood over her staring down at her with a hard expression on his face. And waited.
no subject
It’s clear that Reno isn’t in any hurry to help her up. She’ll have to do this herself. Her arms are tiring, growing numb and shaking with exertion, but she still has strength left in her core. She starts to swing her lower body, trying to purchase with her legs.
The whole time, she glares daggers at Reno.

Elena’s arms are too tired. She swings once, twice, manages briefly to hook her foot around a tree branch, but it isn’t enough. Her left hand slides off and she screams despite herself and her training, holding on for dear life despite her training. Her eyes are wide, full of panic.
“Reno, please!”
no subject
His voice had entered back into the lazy register and he huffed out an airy laugh to cover for his relief at grabbing her. He put his baton away and reached out with his left hand to haul her up onto the platform. She wasn't necessarily heavy but he wasn't going to let her live scaring him like that down.
"You putting on a little extra weight there, Elena?" he asked slyly as he pulled her up onto her feet.

Annnnnd then she loses her footing.
Huehuecóyotl floats over to her, just casually showing off that they don't have to worry about this gravity thing. But they certainly aren't there to help. Nope. They'll just watch them struggle.
"What's the matter? You can't get yourself back up?" It's asked almost as if they genuinely don't see the danger Elena is in.
no subject
"Apparently not," she snaps. They're wearing one of their stupid hoodies, so she figures they're from the train too. "Are going to help, or are you going to watch?"
no subject
A slight pause.
"Or maybe I will help. I'll scratch your back if you scratch mine."
A favour for a favour; it's only fair, right?
no subject
“Fine. What can I do for you?”
no subject
"That doesn't have to be decided right now, does it?"
They float closer and grab Elena by her wrists, pulling her up to safety with ease.
"Just remember that you said yes. No takebacks~."
They look thoroughl pleased about this arrangement, now.

Elena eyes the...Summon? Person? Monster? warily. There she goes, acting without thinking again. She doesn’t like that she just went and agreed to something without even knowing what it was. If Tseng were here, he would probably be reprimanding her right about now.
“All right, you have a deal,” she says heavily. No use trying to get out of it now. “Thank you for your assistance.”
