Test Drive Meme 012
1. Post with your character. I’ve written out some prompts but feel free to make up your own, you have a whole train to play with!
2. Assume they have been around long enough for threads to jump right into the action!
3. Have much fun!
Happy testing!
Film Night
The newest carriage on the Voidtrecker Express is the long awaited cinema! It hosts many films and TV series. Perfect if passengers wish to waste an afternoon without worrying about being stolen from their worlds and hurtling through the void between worlds.
Dashing adventures, chair gripping horrors or adorable adventures of the Merry Little Voidtrain. There is something for everyone, though with only one screen arguments may be inevitable.
Fight Club
The gym carriage is definitely created more for ball games than sparring but that hasn't stopped the passengers adapting as best they can. There are homemade training dummies and plenty of people who use the space to work out and get ready for the next mission.
But there is also a cupboard full of every ball for almost every ball game there is, the two activities in one space may make for a little chaos.
Spar with people, play football. Create some mix of basketball and mixed martial arts. All training counts, right?
Jungle Heights
The latest mission has taken them to a vast jungle, where people live high in the trees. There has been an influx of tree dwelling creatures with sharp teeth, sharper claws and a love of destruction. To make things better the forest floor is not safe, damp and marshy many creatures lurk there ready to bite at ankles and it is home to a root, the sap of which burns.
Team One
Treetop fighting is an acquired skill and one the voidtreckers are having to learn quickly. Swing on vine ropes and tangle with monsters. Quick movement and quicker thinking is needed to take down the creatures in terrain they are naturals at traversing.
Team Two
People here live on platforms in the trees, with bridges and walkways connecting them. Fend off the creatures and chase them away from peoples homes. At least there is slightly solider ground beneath their feet, but they must be careful not to fall to the jungle floor beneath.
Team Three
Many of the people here are not fighters and they need help to get somewhere safer. It's a tough journey through the forest, especially when they leave the bridges and platforms of the village behind. Children may need carried and climbing from one tree to another is difficult even with sturdy branches to walk along.
They must be careful to stay in the trees, avoid getting too close to the forest floor but do not get too high, lest they attract the creatures.
Tsugumi Hazawa | BanG Dream!
[While she tended to bustle around somewhat, Tsugumi had been doing enough of that today that she needed a break, and somehow the cinema car seemed like just the right place for it. She'd walked in and sat down before even really thinking about it, sinking into the chair with a sigh. Except of all things, it's an animated series playing - is this that show she'd been hearing about, with the train? That went on forever? She was kind of excited to see that, so she settled in and started paying attention properly.
...a couple hours later, she's still here, a few episodes in and excitedly paying attention. Never mind that she'd just sat through at least one episode of filler. Were her eyes sparkling-? If someone drew her attention, she'd smile at them and gesture at a nearby open seat, vibrant energy just under the surface.] Here, a new season just started, it's a perfect time to jump in, I think. I've never seen this before now, but it's good!
[B | jungle heights: team three]
[Not only are the civilians not fighters, neither is Tsugu. But she is good at staying calm in a pinch - and helping others do the same - and that's probably a valuable skill right now. She's sure appreciating the pants from the train right now as the branches threaten to leave cuts on her arms and legs, but she's managing, and she's got a small group of a couple children with her as she tries to hustle them along. It's rough going, and she's far from the most athletic person she knows, but she's getting by. She could probably use a little help, though - she's occupied enough that she's not looking up, and someone to discourage attention might be helpful. Or someone to make sure she doesn't miss her own step helping one of the kids with theirs, as she murmurs encouragement at them.]
[C | wildcard: kitchen car]
[But despite everything, when she's done helping out, Tsugumi has a habit of returning here, to the place that's perhaps most like home - absent a keyboard and her friends, at any rate. At the moment she's working on a pan of cinnamon rolls, with another one fresh out of the oven and cooling, and a small bowl of icing next to it. Despite the work and the light coating of flour working its way up her arms, she seems relaxed, almost cheery as she moves with ease, humming a song. She'd been careful not to take anything that was particularly limited in supply; thankfully the basics were well-stocked, and they seemed to have an abundance of cinnamon, or at least something that smelled a lot like it, and tasted... pretty close. In practice it seems like it's giving the rolls a unique flavor, but they're still recognizable as the sweet treat she's used to.
There's a mechanical timer ticking down next to the already-finished tray with a couple minutes left - sure, she could probably use her watch or something for that, but there's a certain Way Things Are Done and she's sticking to it - and any attempt to reach for it until the timer goes off will result in Tsugu turning to the offender with rolling pin in hand.] Those aren't cool yet! You'll burn your mouth! Just a little longer, okay? Then I'll frost one for you.
C
But I want one nooooow.
no subject
[Her back's turned for just a second while she trades the rolling pin out for a knife, but her Student Council Sense is open and expecting the other girl to reach for the pan again.]
no subject
[At the very least, she makes it so her tail is ready to snatch one as soon as Tsugumi gives the go ahead.]
no subject
Okay, now.
[She's confident they turned out all right - well, unless cooking in the void needs temperature and time adjustments - but still better to make sure they're good through observation, right?]
no subject
[Tangle shakes her head, but nonetheless takes the plate with her tail. She licks her lips, and then picks it up with her hand and then taking a bite.]
...Delicious! Oh man, that's just about perfect! You should do this for a living!
no subject
[There's a moment of simple joy as she watches Tangle enjoy the treat; she wanted to write down somewhere that the spice that looked and tasted like cinnamon seemed to do the job, but that could wait a bit, since she'd likely remind herself when she ate one of these for herself. She giggles at the compliment.]
I kind of do, honestly? I help at my parents' cafe, and this is part of what I do for them. I teach a little bit of it, too, but not as much.
no subject
[She takes a few more bites, nodding along as Tsugumi explains.]
There's a place like that in my hometown! I like going there. But... you teach, huh? You ever think about doing that here on the train?
no subject
[Tsugu pauses, looking thoughtful.]
I could try? I haven't been here that long so I never really thought about it. And there are still enough strange things in the storehouse car that I'd feel weird claiming to be an expert.
[But you taught Sayo with even less experience, her traitorous mind supplies. Her face heats at that thought, but at the same time, the thoughtful expression deepens.] But... maybe?
no subject
[Tangle grins.]
Who said you need to be an expert to teach something? I taught myself to fight, and I'm the farthest thing from an expert there is!
no subject
Well... [This does not seem like sound logic. But...] Maybe I'll try it. I'll have to get some extra ingredients together, though - I don't want to waste things we need to feed everyone in case we have problems.
no subject
And oh yeah, totally. You know what they say, waste not, want not.
no subject
[She blinks, mentally rolling back up in the conversation a bit.] Taught yourself to fight? Do you come from a dangerous place?
no subject
[Tangle blinks.]
Oh yeah, there's like. Not even a break before some egg-shaped guy tries to conquer the world with robots, or his robot hedgehog son tries to do it in his name, or a octopus assassin creeps out of nowhere to cause trouble.
... Why? Do you need someone to teach you how to throw a punch?
no subject
I guess real life is stranger than fiction. You've got a lot on your plate, huh? I wouldn't know the first thing about dealing with any of that. But... maybe? I don't think this is going to be a trip that I can just get through by offering my enemies cinnamon rolls.
no subject
Well, last I checked, things were peaceful at the time. But you're right. You're going to at least need to be able to defend yourself.
A - aka I heard 'Merry Little Voidtrain' and came running. XD
Flashing a winking emoticon as he takes the seat next to Tsugumi, he says:]
It is new to all of us, no worries. I am glad that you like it, however. Even I haven't seen all of the episodes yet!
What have you liked about it so far?
[As the intro music plays~]
no subject
The tone is fantastic! If it weren't for the subject material being a little strange, I think my friends at home would love this. Saaya would enjoy showing this to her siblings... and somehow I think Sayo and Hina would get into fights over the characters.
The music is good too - it's going to be in my head for a while - but it kind of makes me miss my friends, and my keyboard. [If Tsugu ever makes it home, at least one of their bands is covering this. Maybe all of them. She could get Kasumi on board, she's sure.]
no subject
You are a musician, then? While I only wish I could help you reconnect with your friends, we can at least make sure you are not deprived of something to play while you're here.
[Or music to play, heh.]
no subject
[She feels a pang; she picked it up to stay with them, and now here she is in the literal middle of nowhere wanting to play, but... she can be a little selfish, right?]
I talked about myself a little, but what are your hobbies? You seemed pretty excited about the cartoon just now, but I'm sure there's something else?
no subject
In response to the question, though, he chuckles.]
I suppose most humans would say I'm a busybody - I enjoy helping people find new solutions to problems in their lives, making the world a better place. I am also quite a fan of books, though media in general receives my attention as well.
[He nods at the episode playing in-front-and-above them.]
But I tend to find most everything interesting; this place is both smaller in scope than what I am used to, yet also much, much stranger.
no subject
[It's just a feeling, but-] Ah, I was going to say that I understand the feeling of this place being strange, but you sound like you mean something a little more dramatic than that.
no subject
[Again, Webmind winks.]
My name is Webmind, and I chose it for a reason. Do you want me to explain further, or did you want to guess first?
[Though he points at the screen again - oooh, someone just challenged the voidtrain to a race! Kheli looks hesitant.]
Though waiting until this episode is over is fine with me as well, if you'd rather.
