May Information and CR meme!

I hope everyone had a fun month! Some information for your ongoing journey.

IC Month

This month is the month of Fiddlesticks. Days can be found here.

The thought of the month is “A mind that is stretched by a new experience can never go back to its old dimensions.”

This means: Every thread in May or June where your character learns, or is learning something new will be worth 2 team points. This might be learning something new about a friend, learning a new skill or learning something about the train or a world.

Threads that fulfill this criterial can be submitted during June AC. You may find it easier to keep a tracking list of threads for easy compiling of bonus AC!

Recipes are here. The key ingredient this month is bacon. All the ingredients can be found in the storeroom and characters are welcome to make other food with them.

This months chore assignments are:

Purple: Cleaning bedrooms and passenger areas
Red: Meal Preparation
Orange: Laundry
Blue: Cleaning kitchen and bathrooms

The Train.

As the month moves onto the month of Fiddlesticks the train will stop to pick up new passengers. When everyone rejoins the train they will find a new sleeper carriage!

They will also discover a change to the dining and kitchen facilities. They now cover two double carriages. One carriage is the kitchens- with one floor ovens and prep area and the upper floor washing up and more prep. The dining carriage now has two floors, both with a long wooden table and benches. More room for everyone!

They also will find a cinema

All of this has been updated on the setting. Remember to let me know if your character does anything to alter the setting!

Important Dates

This month event will be a mission event From the 9th to the 22nd May. An info and plotting post will go up on 5th May.

Reserves will open 18th May with a TDM going up on the 15th May. Apps are between 22nd May and 29th May. AC will run 23rd May to 30th May.

Other Info

Just a reminder about this character shenanigan post. This post is for those times you have an idea in mind that you believe will have consequences and be in the midst of writing the thread, however you want to know what those consequences will be for threads going forward. Or you might still be in the planning stages and would like to know how things might pan out.

It is also for letting me know if your character has done something noticeable that may have consequences. Or if your character is trying to interact with the train/the conductor in a way that is not through the network feedback post.

As we are a much larger game I would ask that you use this post as much as you can- I am liable to lose or forget about things shown to me on plurk or discord, whereas this post and an email notification means that I will definitely see it!

About them: FFVII. He's coming in from after Advent Children. He'll be friendly but he's still a childish dumbass so I expect half the train to love him and the other half to absolutely hate him. :'D Reno is going to be on Purple Team and rooming in 6:E.
Plans: Nothing specific for him other than get him on the train and start creating some cr for him, positive or negative is great.
CR wanted: Anything. His roommates hopefully as well as anyone else.

Hi, roomie and teammate! I . . . have no idea how Ran will react to him. I'm canon blind, so I can only go off what you're saying, but at least off that, I suspect she'll try to get along, but potentially get thoroughly annoyed with him periodically. XD; I'll be curious to see what happens?

Especially since Ran can surprise him with karate and if that doesn't deter him then Peggy can genuinely kick his ass. XD

Piccolo

Character: Piccolo
About them: DBZ/Super. He's big, he's green, he's sometimes mean, but he's not a Yoshi ninja turtle. He does enjoy a good fight and loads of martial arts though. And meditating. Piccolo wears his canon clothing so might appear to be team purple at a glance, but he's actually on Blue Team if asked.
Plans: Nothing too specific although I wanna do some training and/or sparring threads with him this month. Otherwise, anything you can come up with I'm down for and anything that happens naturally.
CR wanted: Anything. Cute cr is love but he also needs some more sparring partners. Someone to train? Come learn ki control.
Things to avoid: I got nothing here.

Re: Piccolo

I think Cassie could learn a lot from Piccolo. She's often noted that she'd like to improve her mastery over her shadow energy/qi abilities, in which she still lags behind her father in certain respects. It'd go a good way to quash the doubts that still linger within her. Being able to fly would also be a good bonus.

On a more character interaction-based note, I think she'd actually get on pretty well with Piccolo, despite being...quite far apart in temperament from him. But she survived Q-Course with her mother as an instructor, so she can handle whatever he throws at him. Besides which, she'd take him as a mentor over Raiden any day.

Ah, come on. Who doesn't love Raiden? /bricked. because honestly all I can remember is Lambert as Raiden who I know isn't...that whole.... yeah I'll shut up now. |D

I'd be happy to have them do sparring and training sessions together!! Piccolo will be interested in her qi powers and can readily adapt to teaching her techniques around what she already knows.

He's strict but like you said she's already had worse--and he's long since past his younger years when he threw kids around for fun. I mean, ahem.

The MK9-MK11 Raiden is legitimately a good character, mostly because of all the ways he keeps failing over and over again. He's also got something of a stick up his ass, but this is frequently pointed out. In any case, his arc is great, but I wouldn't want him as a mentor.

The movie/live action TV series version of Raiden (especially the live action TV series) is absolutely my favorite though. Smartass Raiden is best Raiden. (Meanwhile, I can't tell if "oily gimp summoned by a lesbian sorcerer-masseuse" is the best version of Noob Saibot or the worst, but it was the version Mortal Kombat Conquest gave us, God bless its aggressively 90s soul).

Yeah, I know he's kinda supposed to be stern and whatnot but beyond that I'm sadly clueless. I like MK well enough but I'm horrible at fighter games and haven't played one since, well, the nineties. I have read a few things but not nearly enough. I look forward to learning more as I follow along!

Piccolo is...also stern. Especially as a mentor. And...typically not that fun of a guy to be around. Hopefully he's more mellow than Raiden by now though. He certainly has a weak spot with the children on the train already so that's...something? idk how that will help Cassie though. XD lol.

/laughing. Oh man. I didn't read too much of the TV series plot but it sounds wild. But hell yes to smartass Raiden all the way.

Garrett

Character: Garrett
About them: Thief. He's a master sneak thief with some CRAU from Ryslig. CW: he is an arachne. This means he is part spider/scorpion so if either of those things bother you let me know to avoid. I try to keep his descriptions low unless I know you are okay with his monster bits. Garrett wears all black rather than official team colors and may respond by saying he's Orange or Black Team if asked.
Plans: Nothing specific for him either. Although it's always a possibility that he might murder someone...? /cough I will definitely try to get up a procure items ICP post this month before the world event. He will ask for things to look for and procure them if he finds them, basically. If your character asks 'how' he may or may not deflect.
CR wanted: Anything.
Things to avoid: I got nothing here.

Once the new load of players is in I'm gonna put that post up so Garrett can buy a magic carpet. I MIGHT have Samata take up the training option for 47 too.

Fantastic! I am really looking forward to flying carpet shenanigans if just for the lulz. It's great. :D Also, I would love for 47 to teach Samata things. Yay!

There's a limit to how effective Samata can be in hand to hand combat, since her prosthetic is basically just held on by belts and can get knocked off.

HMM. 47 can possibly help improve that down the line. He can definitely work with it as is and teach her around it. (He may also, eventually, want to teach her how to operate without it just in case. Because he is practical.)

About them: HITMAN. He's the world's best assassin who likes to pretend to be other people. Er, well. Well, anyway, he's a professional something as far as the train knows and he goes by the name "Tobias Rieper". He is obviously on Red Team during missions and stations when new arrivals board though on 'off' days he can usually be seen wearing his signature suit. All hail the magnificent Spider who graciously provides non-train outfits.
Plans: 47 will make a public announcement about training and sparring sessions held daily in the gym this month, about two days after new arrivals. I will also post the open log (everyone post their own toplevel and tag out freely) for Fight Club this month and see how that goes! Other than that I've got nothing, please come bug the hitman especially with small, fluffy, cute animals. (His one weakness.)
CR wanted: Anything. 47 is surprisingly easy-going when not on missions and his Tobias Rieper persona tries to get along with everyone.
