I hope everyone had a fun month! Some information for your ongoing journey.

IC Month

This month is the month of Fiddlesticks. Days can be found here.

The thought of the month is “A mind that is stretched by a new experience can never go back to its old dimensions.”

This means: Every thread in May or June where your character learns, or is learning something new will be worth 2 team points. This might be learning something new about a friend, learning a new skill or learning something about the train or a world.

Threads that fulfill this criterial can be submitted during June AC. You may find it easier to keep a tracking list of threads for easy compiling of bonus AC!

Recipes are here. The key ingredient this month is bacon. All the ingredients can be found in the storeroom and characters are welcome to make other food with them.

This months chore assignments are:

Purple: Cleaning bedrooms and passenger areas
Red: Meal Preparation
Orange: Laundry
Blue: Cleaning kitchen and bathrooms

The Train.

As the month moves onto the month of Fiddlesticks the train will stop to pick up new passengers. When everyone rejoins the train they will find a new sleeper carriage!

They will also discover a change to the dining and kitchen facilities. They now cover two double carriages. One carriage is the kitchens- with one floor ovens and prep area and the upper floor washing up and more prep. The dining carriage now has two floors, both with a long wooden table and benches. More room for everyone!

They also will find a cinema

All of this has been updated on the setting. Remember to let me know if your character does anything to alter the setting!

Important Dates

This month event will be a mission event From the 9th to the 22nd May. An info and plotting post will go up on 5th May.

Reserves will open 18th May with a TDM going up on the 15th May. Apps are between 22nd May and 29th May. AC will run 23rd May to 30th May.

Just a reminder about this character shenanigan post. This post is for those times you have an idea in mind that you believe will have consequences and be in the midst of writing the thread, however you want to know what those consequences will be for threads going forward. Or you might still be in the planning stages and would like to know how things might pan out.

It is also for letting me know if your character has done something noticeable that may have consequences. Or if your character is trying to interact with the train/the conductor in a way that is not through the network feedback post.

As we are a much larger game I would ask that you use this post as much as you can- I am liable to lose or forget about things shown to me on plurk or discord, whereas this post and an email notification means that I will definitely see it!

About them: Young Wizards is Urban Sci-Fi Fantasy where wizards use the Speech and also just try to be good people to make the worlds a better place; the WWW Trilogy is about a blind girl gaining sight, the ability to see the web, and helping awaken an emergent consciousness from within the world wide web!
Plans: I have ongoing shenanigans with Nita (and the peridexis) talking to the train/coaxing it to open up more, and Webmind is trying (slowly, even by his standards) to create a text function usable by all for the ICPs, in addition to adjusting to having his worldview abruptly upended. I also want to have Nita take off her SCA on a world, but I don't know if that'll be happening soon or not. >.>
CR wanted: FRIENDS. Also I need to play more with negative CR/my characters being in the wrong on an issue, because that's definitely going to be relevant the way my theories keep evolving on me.

About them: Samata is an original character based loosely on a D&D character concept I had which went like this:
- Sorcerers use magic intuitively while wizards use magic through study and practice.
- The means wizardry is a skill that you learn
- That means there must have been someone who discovered it in the first place

Samata is the first wizard in a world that is ruled by an aristocratic elite of sorcerer bloodlines. She has a chip on her shoulder and a prosthetic arm and is figuring out how to be a wizard as she goes.
Plans: Gonna offer to take on apprentices and make other people wizards. Gonna take on commissions for making magic items. Gonna do spell research to invent new spells. Might need a live fire test dummy for her "new" Magic Missile spell.
CR wanted: Drinking buddies/party animals. Nerds. People who have inborn magic powers or a rank of nobility in their home worlds.

About them: Gladio: The Kings Shield. Gladio is a mammoth of a man, but a gentle giant. He's pulled from the game FFXV from a point just after his DLC, before the shit hit the fan and everything turned bad, so he still has that Good Guy energy and hasn't been too badly tainted by the events that transpired there.

Duo: My braided lovely is an ex-Gundam pilot/terrorist/explosives expert/assassin/badass turned... well, master thief for this game! In a manner of speaking. As for the guy himself, he was an orphan, had to grow up fast and has seen so much horror in his life. But is still able to laugh and smile and make others laugh. He's a good egg!

Sleepy Ash: This guy is a very old vampire. Who can be a cat. And will spend most of his time as a cat. He loves snacks. He is a self-confessed 'vampire shut-in', he loves video games and anime/tv. He hates drinking blood. Doesn't like fighting. Prefers to sleep. He's lazy and can't stand to do anything that really matters. Because he's the Vampire of Sloth and sadly, he was born this way!

Plans: Gladio is, for some reason, working on seeing if he can get people interested in starting a kind of... theatre thing. And will be very happy for people to join in! He'll make another post about it once the new people have settled in to see if any of the new ones would be interested.
Duo doesn't have any plans yet.
Sleepy Ash will find his Eve. And I suppose it can be said now, but his Eve will be Madoka who will find him on the platform as a stray cat. It will be magical!
CR wanted: Friends! Any CR is good CR. Sleepy Ash will be bad at this. Duo is actually your best bet. He's rather prolific. Gladio not as prolific but happy to meet people and make friends. So yeah. Just that really!

About them: A bitter rival duelist obsessed with winning and being superior, but as it turns out he actually cares if people survive??? Still adjusting to being in the world after being apart from it for so long.
Plans: He's determined to prove those who put their faith in him for council were correct, so his first action will be keeping tabs on as many newbies as possible and learning about their concerns. His second action...will be to duel Yugi, because it always is. And his third action will be to open Duel Monsters to everyone! Do you want to yell and flip trap cards? Then join him and Yugi, they'll be helping anyone interested build decks now that they have Kaiba's entire enormous card collection at their disposal.
CR wanted: More people to poke fun at him. People he'll stubbornly refuse to call friends while logically looking out for them. People to have petty squabbles with.

About them: A proper young lady and magical girl. She's kinda blown her cover and might have to answer to all those guns that fell with her in the luggage car. But she's a sweetheart and wants to help everyone feel welcome.
Plans: Baking for the newbies! Are we ready for sweet bacon squares? She'd also like some tea...

Former summoner, now sphere hunter, Yuna is on a quest to find the love of her life and live a life of fulfillment. She no longer wants to submit to others and follow order blindly, but she's still figuring out what kind of person she really wants to be (so she imitates her cousin Rikku and Tidus at times).

Plans: I've got a mini-angst/jealousy plot planned out, so if anyone wants to be Yuna's new best friend for a while and make Tidus jealous *shifty eyes*.
CR wanted: Outside of that any kind of CR is welcomed, both good and bad. I'm pretty open to a lot.

About them: Seven-year-old embodiment of curiosity! Alice is very sweet (though she can get pretty persnickety) she loves tea parties, chess, cats, rabbits, riddles, playing pretend, and asking a billion questions. She dreamt up places called Wonderland and the Looking Glass, she's from the books of both. She's an itty-bitty child who is actually pretty clever for her age and just wants to befriend as many people as she can.

Plans: Getting her on the train, finding out she has an older, more world-weary, stab-happy version of herself on board, DISCOVERING MOVIES, also getting her a dress because no way no how is she staying in TROUSERS, thank you very much!

CR wanted: Friends, foundfamily, cuddle buddies, people to play chess and riddles with, more people to have tea parties with.
Things to avoid: Currently not really seeking negative CR, if it happens it happens but I'm not actively looking for it.

About them: Arknights is a post-apocalyptic futuristic game following a pharmaceutical company with a paramilitary division fighting terrorists while trying to combat systematic oppression of the Infected, people whose cells are being replaced with a magic rock called Originium.
Ifrit's a demon-like girl with extremely advanced Oripathy, giving her control over fire but her control's not that great. She's egotistical, simple-minded, and quick to anger, but is trying to learn to be a better person.
Plans: Basically adjusting to new circumstances. I've got a couple prompts for early game planned;
-Telling roommates about Oripathy and esp. that it's transmissible (it's not in RPland, but she doesn't know that)
-Trying to find painkillers that work for her chronic nerve pain (from the Infection)
-Setting off fire alarms and/or starting small fires on accident
-WHY DOESN'T ANYBODY HERE HAVE ANIMAL TRAITS??? (regular humans don't exist in her canon)
CR wanted: Found fambly is Ifrit's bread and butter. Beyond that, friends or rivals are good. She'll probably need at least one good adult role model too. Any medical experts who'd want to weigh in on her Infection are also good.
Things to avoid: Ifrit is volatile and can be rude, but let's avoid somebody doing a full dressing down on her. She's basically a kid and won't take it well, and it wouldn't be very fun to play out either.

Did somebody say starting fires? Sven's normally the guy setting things alight, but he can help smother some accidental blazes. Perhaps he can offer some advice about controlling her power, since he wasn't the greatest with his own when his patron first bestowed them upon him. He's patient and forgiving with other people, so Ifrit's volatile behaviour will just roll right off him.

About them: OC! A ghost who was murdered by her dad and then spent 200 years stuck in a cave. Very friendly and cheerful, floating uneasily on a deep sea of trauma and anger.
Plans: Ivy has never seen a movie so she's gonna try to see EVERY movie. At least until it turns out that not all movies are good. Also, she might declare a day this month to be her 15th birthday, 200 years late.
CR wanted: People who would interact interestingly with ghosts! More kids! more parental figures to replace her awful actual parent!

Plans: No plans. I always wing it, but will help make other people's dreams a reality.

About them: Rapunzel: Tangled, Unknown princess who was locked in a tower and has bounds of energy. Enjoys learning and doing new things. Also her hair glows and heals, makes you younger and helps deal with positions. it's p[pretty useful hair.

Yugi: Yu-Gi-Oh! Young Duelist who was once a shy young man with barely any friends who ended up full of confidence, friends who he cares about and the title of King of Games.

Allen: D.Gray-Man. An idiot. But in all seriousness, Allen is a caring young man who just wants to help everyone who if suffering or unhappy. Also wants to protect too. Has been through two games and is getting a little better at the whole...talking thing. He's a work in progress.

Minako: Sailor Moon. A beautiful young woman who is also Sailor Venus, the soldier of love and beauty. She can be hyperactive and love-obsessed. She has dreams of being an idol and having her own boyfriend but is also okay at throwing that away for her Queen.

Plans:
Rapunzel: I honestly don't have anything for Rapunzel. All she will want to do is paint. She is however still learning a lot and wants to set up art classes, but with lack of art supplies she hasn't gone further with that one.

Yugi: Yugi has been asking himself a lot of questions since he arrived here. Some were placed in his head by others (Prompto mostly) while others are from what he has seen. Yugi might want to try and understand just what his purpose is on this train and maybe figuring himself out a little bit more.

Also probably will be helping Kaiba with Duel Monsters too and gifting him with his Duel Disk. Odds are in the future Yugi will offer others to potentially get one if they so want it.

Allen: Allen is going to ask about medical stuff. Like is that a thing they need to do like medical reports and such. So people might get the fun realization that Allen has been through some shit physically. He is... trying to open up a bit.

I also just have the usual plans of Allen missing his friends and using his golem to show him images. I also would be happy for Allen to explain what Timcampy is capable of as well.

Minako: Shipping board. It's already in motion. Will have a post about it tomorrow, but basically Minako will be making a list of couples that already exist and people who she thinks would work well together. Also will take suggestions othjers might think. It will be a board for all.

CR wanted: I am never really picky about CR, so come at me.
Things to avoid: /gestures to self. I have seriously done some dark stuff with my characters before here, so I don't have a lot I would avoid.

About them: Very pink. Very cute. A 14 year old girl who has never heard of the concept of selfconfidence before. Endlessly selfless and sweet.
Plans: So this month Madoka is proving that she'll never learn by making a contract with a random cat that she came across! Except this one is a sleepy vampire rather than a creepy alien, so maybe she's moving up in the world? From this month on, basically assume that whenever you see Madoka somewhere in the train, she will like 90% of the time have the cat hanging around her. It'll be either napping somewhere around her or hitching a ride on her shoulder or head. I'll be putting up an open log for people to come talk to Madoka about her new cat! c: She will probably tell people who are friends with her about its real nature, so they're free to like.. judge her for her life decisions.
CR wanted: I'm open to anything! Being mean to her is a terrifying risk though with how many people are protective of her, LOL.

About them: Professional foot-in-mouth shover. Seems like a huge idiot and a super happy go lucky teenager, but he's actually shoving down at least 15 different layers of trauma underneath it. Good luck actually getting him to talk about himself.
Plans: Inigo is my one totally planless character this month, but that just means I'm open for anything!
CR wanted: Inigo easily talks to people, so I love any and all! People who can actually get him to open up a bit would be great, it'll just be a long process since he's dumb. He also tends to flirt with girls as a coping mechanism, but he's TRYING to tone is down now he has a boyfriend.. emphasis on trying.
Things to avoid: Nothing, bring it on!

Character: Alice Liddell (the American Mcgee/older one)
About them: Grew up the same way as little Alice, but then her family died in a fire and it completely traumatized her and messed up her mental Wonderland. Now she just seems like your typical snarky goth teenager, but that's just since she's actually terrified of opening up or letting feelings show even a tiny bit.
Plans: She's going to have an identity crisis with little Alice showing up. Not to mention being reminded of the way she used to be and how much worse she is now is going to be Not Great. I'll put up an open log of her freaking out about it, if anyone is interested!
CR wanted: Please give this girl some friends. She's weak to people being really nice to her, but snark buddies are also lovely.
Things to avoid: Alice's background comes with a ton of content warnings, like themes of mental health, suicide, asylums, child abuse, etc. I won't just bring things up all willynilly though and try to put appropriate warnings on stuff that does involve it.

About them: Canon: Arknights. A firefighter in a world plagued by sudden massive weather catastrophes, she fights (figuratively) against the chaos and entropy that so easily ruin lives with bloody and fiery tragedy by having a plan and being ready to execute on it when something goes wrong. She also fights (literally) a massive terrorist cult called Reunion that exploits the sick and dangerous on the fringes of society by turning them into suicide fighters laying waste to civilization. Extremely short, nervous in social situations, talks very quickly, doesn't express emotions very well. Diet squirrel furry.
Plans: Newbie, so nothing's set in stone! Finding her bearings, dealing with rooming with three dudes, meeting new people, checking the train's fire safety. Figuring out who the main troublemakers are so that she can keep an eye on them.
CR wanted: People who enjoy trolling the overly serious, people who enjoy Getting Shit Done, people with any kind of positive or negative relationship with the concept of arson. That and anything else, really.

About them: OC from the world of Dungeons & Dragons! Sven is a Warlock with fire magic, who was resurrected by his patron to protect humanity. He's an enthusiastic dude who cares a lot about people, so if you've a problem you need a hand with, he's your guy. Once he gets his bearings, anyway: he's one of this months' new passengers!

Plans: He's Red Team, so I guess he's going to be cooking your meals and overcooking the spirit out of all your food. Listen, food just isn't good if it's not lightly charred. Also probably exploring the train and trying to find a source of foliage he can burn in his morning prayers to his patron (whose presence he cannot feel here and it's wigging him out). Oh, and marvelling over the cinema because what is this MAGIC?

CR wanted: People to give him tours, people to get mad at him smoking out the hallways, fellow newbies wanting a supportive pep-talk even though he's just as out of his depth as the rest of you? Sparring buddies? NEW FRIENDS.

Things to avoid: Nothing of note, though I recommend taking a quick glance at Sven's permissions.

Plans: He's a brand new boy, so getting him settled in and finding him a place to belong. He's been searching for one of those for a Very Long Time.

About them: That one series about blue boxes and time traveling aliens-yeah that one! He's a very friendly time lord and would like to meet everyone.
Plans: React to Rose, work on some projects, fake flirt/actually flirt with Jack some more, set up primary lessons for kiddos, write up a list of things for the council to address at his first meeting and probably some other stuff. He's been mainly hanging out in the medical carriage. So also probably irritate Wen Qing some.

Plans: I have no plans, actually, except for him getting a guitar at some point in the future when he has enough points for it.

About them: Short version: Grew up a rich movie star's daughter, joined the Army to get closer to Mom (and because UFC would've been boring), got her shit together, and beat up a hellgod. Might punch you, will snark at you.
Plans: Besides my previously stated plan to get her behind a big ol' cannon so she can charge it with qi and blast the everloving crap out of something, I hope to have her become one of the resident kcombat and sparring experts. The way she sees it, if this is supposed to be some kind of interdimensional A-Team, everybody needs to keep their combat skills as sharp as possible. I also know a Sonya Blade player who should be apping MK11 Sonya Blade during the next cycle. There should definitely be some...interesting drama resulting from that. And that's all I'll say for now.
CR wanted: Friends and sparring partners. ESPECIALLY sparring partners.
Things to avoid: Nothing comes to mind.

About them: From a world masterpiece theatre anime called Romeo's Blue Skies, Romeo is a ever cheerful eleven year old who sold himself into contractual slavery to save the life of his father, became a chimney sweep, made a Best Friend, joined a gang of chimney sweeps to help protect everyone from a street gang. He is CRAU from The Far Shore so he then died in a chimney sweeping accident and went to the heavens, where he was named by a god as a shinki (a weapon to fight monsters). That process wiped his memories of his previous life. He lived in the heavens for about six months, making many friends before he ended up on this train. He is super cheerful, wants to be everyone's friend and has all of the enthusiasm at all times! Sometimes he appears as a hope weasel, that is a weasel who makes people feel more hopeful.
Plans: He is still sorting through (read pushing down and ignoring) his feelings on witnessing Joss' death. He is easy to throw into anything, he likes art, playing games, music and dancing. I never have solid plans for him but he always ends up doing all the things because that is how he rolls!
CR wanted: He will befriend anyone. Including the villains. Power of Friendship is strong in this one.
Things to avoid: Nothing much here!

Taiki

About them: 12 Kingdoms. Taiki is a kirin, a holy creature made to find the god appointed ruler of Tai, bestow to them the throne and help them stick to The Way and create a prosperous and peaceful kingdom that cares for and protects the citizens of Tai.

At least... that is what Taiki's life was supposed to be but it all went wrong before he was even born and it continued going wrong ever since. Everything is a mess.

Taiki is a kind, benevolent, emphatic creature mixed with a wary, distrusting and very broken teenager. When he was made they ran out of self worth and attempted to substitute it with extra will power and the result is dangerous indeed. He is friendly and genuinely likes people (and animals, he adores animals) but distances himself as a defence mechanism.

He is on red team which is terrible because he cannot fight unless ordered to by his king and spilled blood causes him to fall ill. So that's fun.

Plans: His king got him a Jerboa as a pet. So cute fluff time. Other than that, meeting more people. He is the type of person who will sit and listen to another for ever, so if anyone needs someone to vent to, he is a good listener.
CR wanted: All of it!
Things to avoid: If your character is likely to smell of blood please tell me. It's not actually an avoidance but it is important for me to know so I play things right!

Character: Curufin Fëanorion (CRAU)
About them: He's from J.R.R. Tolkien's epic tale, The Silmarillion. A warrior and a forge master, he's a veteran of five and a half centuries of war. More, if you count the fights he was in in the two games before Voidtrecker Express and during this game. He got into horrible trouble in his own world due to swearing an oath that bound him to a goal that required some very unethical or outright murderous actions. But after his death, he regained his sanity and set off on a series of journeys to find his heart again and to choose a new path.
Plans: He'll be going on the next mission, for sure. Also, he just picked up his store order, four huge boxes of Legos, which were meant as a gift to Peter Parker. He'd like to organize a Lego party, preferably with food and music! He's got mechanical and electrical engineering skills, so if you want something designed, built, or fixed, he can do it, provided it's possible to get his hands on the materials and any tools he doesn't already have in his tool kit. Last thing, he's a musician, and it would be nice to meet with other musicians to plan some concerts.
CR wanted: He's always up for new friendships and for CR with old friends.

About them: From JRR Tolkien's Silmarillion. Fëanor is the author of titular gems and either direct or indirect cause of most of the mayhem that happened after those were stolen.
Linguist. Jewel-smith. Genius. If something can be built, he will build it. If it can't, he'd find a way for it to be. Unless he gets bored or distracted in the meantime. Ex-High King of the Noldor (he died, it was tragic). Awfully arrogant, horrible temper. His wife is on the train and that works wonders for him being a little less terrible.
Plans: More family time! Working on Void Silmaril. Getting distracted by building insanely complicated machines for Gladio's Theatre Thing. (Please, don't let him get away with anything that requires a century to complete)

Character: Khary
About them: Hard one to summarize. He is from the Black Jewels saga, just past the end of Cassidy's book. His world is broken into three realms. High magic, low tech. Strongly matriarchal, though apparently it does not seem that way speaking to him. He's the most laid back of his male friends, with the possible exceptions of the Kindred - sentient/sapient animals. But by his very nature the potential to do violence in temper is there, as is the desire to protect and be protected by a woman he can respect. He is... not doing well without a Queen.

Plans: He would like to start teaching classes - Craft (magic), Protocol (the give and take between people in his world), fighting.
CR wanted: He needs a female he can trust and bond with that can rise to his strength that he can work with while he is here. Also he needs more "brothers" whom he can then drag in to help fuss over said poor female. (In his world one Queen controls a minimum of 12 males, and the males still feel out numbered.)
Things to avoid:Anything rated R, tipping his temper too far (usually by hurting/abusing a woman, a child, or an animal.) So not things I think are likely to be issues here.


Character: Najaran
About them: From the Culdcept manga series (sadly she is not in the games) she is an energetic and perky young girl who never really got much in the way of socialization until the last few months before arriving. If it even was months! She was first homeless with her father then sent to live with her Master on an isle where there were few to no other humans. There is one passing reference to her going to a market stall... but that's about it. Anyway, yeah, she has weird magic and an odd point of view about most things. She always wants to help, and to eat.
Plans: building more friendships, teaching her how to interact with people.
CR wanted: More friends? Sadly she can't really have a friendly rivalry without other Cepters, but being able to make friends without a crisis is new to her and wonderful!
Things to avoid: She... really has no triggers, that I can think of...


Character: Xion
About them: Kingdom Hearts, Days. I am so sorry.... (She is also CRAU as is Lea/Axel from Daitu)

Xion is learning how to be a person, and is in the middle of a metric ton of existential angst from her last game where she discovered she might actually have a heart, might actually be a person. With value even. Maybe. Expect her to be in her long black coat, gloves, and boots, with her hood up, until she gets used to your character. She's mostly going to be hiding behind her meat shields friends where she can. Knowing this, Lea is planning to not let her do that much.

Plans: I want her to learn to be a person more, to learn in general.
CR wanted: More friends. Maybe even an actual enemy so she can learn how to deal with that other than just taking it.
Things to avoid: I mean.... I kind of love watching her grow as she encounters things that upset her and has to deal with them. Though Lea's player might be the better one to ask for things to avoid with Xion >.>
