Test Drive Meme 002
1. Post with your character. I’ve written out some prompts but feel free to make up your own, you have a whole train to play with!
2. Assume they have been around long enough for threads to jump right into the action!
3. Have much fun!
Happy testing!
Luggage Handling
The last carriage of the train is full of luggage. It’s all empty but there sure is a lot of it. Suitcases, old fashioned travelling trunks, rucksacks. And they are scattered everywhere, a safety concern to be sure.
Or perhaps the most fun place on the train, if you are thinking about it right. These cases could be anything, a fort, a bunker. How many can you stack up until they are too high to reach or they tumble down on top of you?
Let out your inner child and relieve some of the boredom of being stuck on a train by creating the luggage castle of your dreams, or step in before disaster strikes and attempt to bring some organisation to this chaos.
Scavenger Hunt
You’ve found yourself on a world that seems to be one huge scrap yard. At least all the parts you can see are and you aren’t the only ones there. A small fighter craft has crash landed here and the pilot needs help fixing their craft to get out of here!
Team One The parts needed must be around here somewhere! This place has all sorts and so it’s just a matter of trying to sort through all the junk to find what you are looking for.
Team Two Some parts from the actual ship are salvageable but it’s going to take a team to get this thing sky worthy again. Fix what can be fixed and get the craft ready for the spare parts that will hopefully be found.
Team Three This planet is not without its nuisances. Most prominent are some strange cyborg rats that have a taste for wiring. Fend them off before they get into the craft and render all the hard work undone.
A picnic with a view
Heroes deserve rewards every now and again and after a few days of protecting a settlement from strange shape shifting alien blobs there is a moment to relax before boarding the train once more.
What a place to relax in. High up on a cliff overlooking a vast plain of crystal stalagmites. The light of two suns reflects of them creating a dazzling prism mirror effect of colour, it’s almost like hovering above a sea of rainbows.
A picnic has been provided by some grateful villagers, the food is strange but delicious and a perfect way to unwind after a stressful few days.
Peryn Tattersall | FFXIV
[ Hero. (A) Warrior of Light. Doormat.
In all seriousness, the whole... finding herself in a new place and immediately getting roped into menial tasks is so nostalgic, she could almost forget the whole "unable to get back home" thing. Almost. That being said, as much experience as she's had with such things, she's likewise had equal experience hiding any vexation between a calm, even cheerful countenance.
She can be found picking through the debris if you desire to approach her then, looking for the right finicky bit or bob that's needed. More like than not though, you'll find her on pest control. Whether you're preoccupied with your own work or being harassed, you might suddenly hear a call behind you. ]
On your left!
[ If you happen to look or jump away from the left, you'll be treated to a short figure literally twirling towards the rat in question - with deadly sharp chakram in each hand. If you happen to jump to the left instead... well there may be a painful and unfortunate collision instead. Oops. ]
Picnic
[ It was always nice to have a moment or two of quiet. It was nicer to have that moment or two with good food and such a wonderful view. Perhaps she ought to start penning a journal of gorgeous sights of her own, like those occasional few people she met on her journeys from place to place.
Her face will light up like a firefly at the prospect of company, and years as an archer plus those Plainsfolk ears mean her hearing is particularly sharp. Not that it's impossible, but it will be very difficult to sneak up on her unless one is actively trying. More often than not though, she'll turn to look at anyone approaching as soon as she notices them, eyes lighting up at the prospect of company.
Do you have something to say first? Or will the silence drag on long enough for her to need to be the one to break it? ]

[ooc; haven't picked a canonpoint but likely will be somewhere early to mid-ShB (from either the beginning of the expac with only DNC storyline to the level 75 dungeon, 77 dungeon at absolute latest) so around 73 content is what I'll be playing with here; I'll try to avoid any spoilers of substance but please let me know your comfort level and I'll do whatever what I can to oblige!
Also basic assumed CR is a-ok! ]
Hunt
His focus had been bent on the task at hand, and he felt fortunate that he had gloves. A part caught his eye and just as hed pocketed his find, Hendrik heard someone calling.
Turning around towards the sound, he caught what was said and stood his ground, raising his greatsword. But what surprised him was seeing this blue-haired person..spinning towards a rat as if it were harmful.
And so the greatsword slowly lowered as the chakram went to work.

That done, she turns to Hendrik.
"Apologies," she says cheerfully, a little out of breath, "They can be quite the pests, if our new friends are to be believed."
no subject
"You have nothing to apologize for. Assisting in vermin removal will no doubt help those that are unable to accomplish such a task."
Hendrik wasn't sure what to believe at this point, but helping others was part and parcel of his knightly charge. And that charge was a knight's word is his bond, his kingdom his master. He serves the weak untiringly, challenges the strong unflinchingly and never retreats in the face of adversity.
And as he saw it, this was simply an extension of that.

Well, she says it like she's admitting something, but truthfully it's kind of a foregone conclusion for her. She's just not going to snark about it or anything yet. She's also rather pleased that he hasn't made any comments on her stature, so that helps. Apparently Lalafell (or dwarves even) aren't so common a thing outside the Source and its reflections?
"You haven't spotted any others, have you?" Or needed help of his own, this is usually when people would do such things.
no subject
"The ones that I have spotted have been disposed of." The knight personally didn't see a problem with them but he knew all too well that they could harm a child or an adult that hadn't had years of training with a sword or some other weapon.
And he's too polite to comment on height. After all, not everyone is 6'4" and well built as he is.
Picnic
Hello! Quite the view they've got up here, don't they?

Gods, yes. It's fascinating, how each world can have the same bits and pieces but they're still all so different.
[ This place had reminded her of both Mor Dhona and Il Mheg in turn, but yet it clearly had a charm all its own and couldn't fairly be compared to either. Pity that charm wasn't the local fauna. Though then again, when one of your primary jobs is pest control, it rarely is. ]

Some things don't change, though. Getting chased through places by monsters we've got to kill, right? [But she's laughing. It's so 'such is life', she can't even be angry.]
At least we get moments like this, right? Where we can have some peace!

[ It seemed to be a universal constant... ]
And you mean the Burning Wall, right? I'd nearly forgotten about that one.
[ Which seems silly in retrospect, given how much time she'd spent there
murdering Golden Fleeces for felt materialstrying to get a corrupted aether crystal of the wrong element. ]no subject
I do, yes! I came into Eorzea and ended up in Ul'dah from the Steppes, and I guess it just stuck. There are prettier places, and I missed Azim terribly for a while, but I seem to still end up in Thanalan quite a bit. Maybe the heat went to my head.
[But Sarai laughs, so it's probably a joke!]
