Luggage Handling

The last carriage of the train is full of luggage. It’s all empty but there sure is a lot of it. Suitcases, old fashioned travelling trunks, rucksacks. And they are scattered everywhere, a safety concern to be sure.

Or perhaps the most fun place on the train, if you are thinking about it right. These cases could be anything, a fort, a bunker. How many can you stack up until they are too high to reach or they tumble down on top of you?

Let out your inner child and relieve some of the boredom of being stuck on a train by creating the luggage castle of your dreams, or step in before disaster strikes and attempt to bring some organisation to this chaos.

Scavenger Hunt

You’ve found yourself on a world that seems to be one huge scrap yard. At least all the parts you can see are and you aren’t the only ones there. A small fighter craft has crash landed here and the pilot needs help fixing their craft to get out of here!

Team One The parts needed must be around here somewhere! This place has all sorts and so it’s just a matter of trying to sort through all the junk to find what you are looking for.

Team Two Some parts from the actual ship are salvageable but it’s going to take a team to get this thing sky worthy again. Fix what can be fixed and get the craft ready for the spare parts that will hopefully be found.

Team Three This planet is not without its nuisances. Most prominent are some strange cyborg rats that have a taste for wiring. Fend them off before they get into the craft and render all the hard work undone.

A picnic with a view

Heroes deserve rewards every now and again and after a few days of protecting a settlement from strange shape shifting alien blobs there is a moment to relax before boarding the train once more.

What a place to relax in. High up on a cliff overlooking a vast plain of crystal stalagmites. The light of two suns reflects of them creating a dazzling prism mirror effect of colour, it’s almost like hovering above a sea of rainbows.

A picnic has been provided by some grateful villagers, the food is strange but delicious and a perfect way to unwind after a stressful few days.

His lips tighten at the refusal and a his eyes flash with frustration. Of course he has no right to that emotion, yet it burns at the surface nonetheless.

"Speak up or I won't know what needs to be altered." Maedhros rests his hand on his knee, curling his other arm against his abdomen.

He takes a bite of food, at least, though it's purely mechanical. Showing it's not the eating part he minds so much as having it shoved in his face this time around.

Maglor shrugs and looks away. "You're dead, Nelyo," he answers bluntly. "You will be Reborn across the Sea I cannot cross."

[castintoflames]

So stubborn! Maedhros looks away from him and breathes in the mostly clean air. His hope that Maglor doesn't know what becomes of him crashes at the blunt answer.

"There is nothing I can say to make that better." he gazes at his brother again, sad beyond words, "Who says I won't come to get you?"

[seawanderer]

Feanorion!

He continues to slowly nibble on the food on the plate, finding it easier to look at it rather than his brother, though part of him screams that if he lets Maedhros out of his sight again, he'll be left behind.

Again.

"Because no one does."

His hair is bright enough to be seen out of Maglor's periphery; there is some comfort in that. However Maglor's belief in him is less soothing. He looks even more stubborn because of it.

"Except for me."

[seawanderer]

He's been fooled before, but this time he'll try to believe it.

"Is that why you're here?"

[castintoflames]

"No. I did not choose to be here." he speaks the truth despite it doing him no favors, "If I had known you were taken, I would have followed."

[seawanderer]

No. It doesn't do Maedhros any favors. But the honesty is appreciated.

Maglor still flinches a little, shoulders hunching. "...You wanted me to follow you, but I couldn't."

[castintoflames]

"No!" his voice is sharp, "I never wanted you to perish! There is...more for you. With Elros. With Elrond. What of their children?"

Maedhros is visibly upset at the idea of Maglor dying. He doesn't want to imagine his brother's music - his Song - fading away. Yet that is exactly what his actions helped ensure.

[seawanderer]

He shakes his head, lips twisting bitterly. "I couldn't follow Elros, though I visited him before he died. But Elrond..." Maglor sighs and sags, tipping towards Maedhros.

"...I did what I could to keep his Valley and family safe." But he'd failed to keep Elrond's wife safe.

[castintoflames]

"He chose mortality. We knew he would journey beyond us." Maedhros looks pained regardless. Elrond had been Maglor's boy while Elros had been his.

"What did he say?" he rests their bodies together, breathing in slowly, "I'm sure you did your best. There are Shadows everywhere and no one is immune to them."

[seawanderer]

"They've always been beyond us, even when right with us." Such bright boys.

He lets his head rest on his brother's shoulder, food all but forgotten. "Elros called us idiots for not letting them help.

"Elrond...I didn't give him the chance to demand I stay with him."

[castintoflames]

"Just like stars." he turns his head and kisses Maglor's dark hair, "I will take being called an idiot if it means he lived a good, long life."

Picking up what looks like a piece of fruit, he offers it to his brother.

"Go back to him, Kano. He loves you."

[seawanderer]

"He did. He built a marvelous kingdom, Nelyo."

Maglor snorts at the piece of fruit but takes it and nibbles on it.

"You're too late. He's gone."

[castintoflames]

"A kingdom that needs your protection." he kisses Maglor's cheek, rewarding him, "Sailed, yes, but he has left parts of himself behind."

Adorable parts that need their grandfather.

[seawanderer]

"Elros' kingdom sank. The people scattered and all but gone now."

He shifts to settle a bit more comfortably against his brother.

"...They will be protected." Maybe...he can finally come closer? Now that Sauron's gone? Maybe he won't doom them just by being near?

[castintoflames]

"All but gone. I hear what you say, brother." his body has been torn and mutilated, but his ears work, "Enjoy them. Hunt with them; teach them."

Find what happiness is left.

[seawanderer]

"I have been, though they don't know me as more than just someone working in the shadows to help." Leaving hints and emergency supplies where he knows they will be needed.

He doesn't deserve happiness.

[castintoflames]

"Introduce yourself, then. Tell them of the love you bear for their father. Tell them of how you held them as babes."

He disagrees. Intently. Stubbornly. Always.

[seawanderer]

"Maybe, given more time." How much more time, he doesn't know.

[castintoflames]

"Don't wait too long. Life travels too quickly and it is over in a flash." he knows that personally and he shouldn't.

[seawanderer]

"I know," he answers sharply, nudging Maedhros in the side rather pointedly.

[castintoflames]

"So don't drag your feet." his teeth flash aggressively, but it doesn't last.
