Test Drive Meme 002

Welcome to our Test Drive Meme! Here is the place to see how your character might fit the setting, grab some samples and start having fun!

1. Post with your character. I’ve written out some prompts but feel free to make up your own, you have a whole train to play with!

2. Assume they have been around long enough for threads to jump right into the action!

3. Have much fun!

Happy testing!

Luggage Handling

The last carriage of the train is full of luggage. It’s all empty but there sure is a lot of it. Suitcases, old fashioned travelling trunks, rucksacks. And they are scattered everywhere, a safety concern to be sure.

Or perhaps the most fun place on the train, if you are thinking about it right. These cases could be anything, a fort, a bunker. How many can you stack up until they are too high to reach or they tumble down on top of you?

Let out your inner child and relieve some of the boredom of being stuck on a train by creating the luggage castle of your dreams, or step in before disaster strikes and attempt to bring some organisation to this chaos.

Scavenger Hunt

You’ve found yourself on a world that seems to be one huge scrap yard. At least all the parts you can see are and you aren’t the only ones there. A small fighter craft has crash landed here and the pilot needs help fixing their craft to get out of here!

Team One The parts needed must be around here somewhere! This place has all sorts and so it’s just a matter of trying to sort through all the junk to find what you are looking for.

Team Two Some parts from the actual ship are salvageable but it’s going to take a team to get this thing sky worthy again. Fix what can be fixed and get the craft ready for the spare parts that will hopefully be found.

Team Three This planet is not without its nuisances. Most prominent are some strange cyborg rats that have a taste for wiring. Fend them off before they get into the craft and render all the hard work undone.

A picnic with a view

Heroes deserve rewards every now and again and after a few days of protecting a settlement from strange shape shifting alien blobs there is a moment to relax before boarding the train once more.

What a place to relax in. High up on a cliff overlooking a vast plain of crystal stalagmites. The light of two suns reflects of them creating a dazzling prism mirror effect of colour, it’s almost like hovering above a sea of rainbows.

A picnic has been provided by some grateful villagers, the food is strange but delicious and a perfect way to unwind after a stressful few days.

Eww...

[Creepy robots indeed. Though to be frank until quite recently Feanor wouldn't know what a robot is. It's not that he's completely unfamiliar of mechanical creations of that kind. Many wonders left Noldorin forges in Aman.

Those creatures here? They're different. There's no elegance to their design. They look like trash and they move like trash. It really grates on his sense of aesthetics. But there's no time to be offended as one of the rats exploited the commotion to jump on the back of the poor spider. Feanor has no choice but to drop the pile of parts he was holding and help her.]

Eternal Darkness! Hold still, I'll take it off you!

[Lifting the metal rat needs no effort. Unhinging its claws from the spider does. When that is accomplished he simply drops the robot on the ground and crushes the remains under the heel of his boot. Better be sure.]

There. Just be more careful.

[Hm. He could take one apart while he's at it...See what makes them tick.]

[ She shivers in a grotesque full-body motion, trying not to panic too much about unable to check her HP or even just look back at the damage. Which sucks, by the way. Just in case anyone was wondering.

She doesn't really want to have to acknowledge the help, but this world really likes to drive home the ~TEAMWORK~ angle and she's paranoid she might be docked points if she doesn't play along. So she drives off the lone remaining rat and quickly weaves a silk thread banner that reads, ]

THANKS

[ and then she picks up some of his collected junk to hand back, bundling it up in the banner. It's probably pretty gross. ]

[Double the ewww... Now everything is gross and sticky and ...ugh ... no. Why it always has to spiders?! Why not, for Eru's mercy, seagulls for example? He would never mind seagulls!]

Just be careful.

[Feanor can't reasonably pick up his meticulously gathered collection of parts in proverbial two fingers. Not metaphorically. Not literally. It's simply too heavy. Now that the pile is carefully wrapped in the THANKS banner he has no other choice but to handle it through the spider silk.

This is really disgusting...]

[ At least she made it only mildly adhesive, or his day would have been well and truly ruined. Hey, good plan. She'll do that if he gets any weird ideas. Sure, he totally saved her life against that rat, so he's achieved the title of 'favourite elf', but still. Elves. Spiders. Name a story they've gotten along, she'll wait.

Ugh, did that pile of rats just move.

Just gonna... stick with him. Yeah.

Congratulations, Feanor, you have a spider companion, and it's slowly adding more junk to the pile in his arms to be helpful. ]

[Feanor already had everything he needed in his pile of parts, thank you. He really doesn't need more.]

Stop throwing junk on me!

[Now he has to grip the bundle steadier just not to drop it on his own feet. That means more sticky mess. Plus the task of sorting the things he ACTUALLY needs from the rest of the random junk.]

You're not helping!
