Welcome to our Test Drive Meme! Here is the place to see how your character might fit the setting, grab some samples and start having fun!

1. Post with your character. I’ve written out some prompts but feel free to make up your own, you have a whole train to play with!

2. Assume they have been around long enough for threads to jump right into the action!

Knight Quest

Upstairs in the games carriage there is a VR game set. There are enough headsets and controllers for four people to play. One of the games is Knight Quest!

A game that can either be played on single adventure mode or with the other three headsets in a campaign mode. It is a typical fantasy rpg about a young hero who is searching for a magical item to save the world. The story is simple but fun and engaging. The hero has a sword and shield and fighting in this game requires some physical skill, but practice makes perfect!

Games are a good way of gaining skills so team up and save the world, fighting monsters and practising fighting in a safe controlled environment! Just… Don’t bash into each other.

Making your own Fun

The standard coach doesn’t have all that much in it. Just rows of seats, though at the front of the carriage seats have been ripped up and bookshelves installed.

It’s a good place to read or write in their journals. Or annoy other passengers by climbing from one side of the carriage to the other without touching the floor.

Rehabilitation

The train has arrived at a collection of planets. That is good because your task is finding a place for the lindusi (large lizard creatures, recently rescued from a dying planet) to be settled and the more choices the better.

Team One

The first job is predominantly scouting. The scientists in charge of the lindusi relocation project have given the team a list of important features for a planet to have.

It’s like a scavenger hunt but for running water, certain types of plants, prey animals and other features. They have lent the void treckers some basic scientific equipment for testing the environment.

Team Two

Not all of these planets are going to be empty of hostile creatures. The second teams task is to accompany the first team and keep them safe. They have been given shielding devices, easy to use energy shields large enough to fit two people behind. They are handheld and a quick press of a button will activate the shield.

There are plenty of predators, from bears to strange flying aliens that want to eat you. Good luck!

Team Three

Once a suitable planet has been found the third team are to get the lindusi there. In shuttle ships. They aren’t too difficult to pilot, which is good because the lindusi relocation program is very short staffed.

Once they are safely landed it is a case of releasing them into the wild, in safe locations away from any immediate danger. The lindusi are still recovering from their trip through space after all.

Yuffie's attention took a sharp left turn when she had processed the phrase 'I have all of one...'. The console dropped to the ground and she skipped over it to inspect this stranger more closely. He was cute though she didn't immediately see a weapon on him.

"Oh? Show me. Show me."

He might want to be careful or he was going to find his only weapon pilfered from him.

Oh don't get him wrong -- he'd noticed she was super cute and would have flirted with her ten times already, but talking ninja stuff had taken priority!

He reached over his shoulder into his pack, then pulled out a ring with four overlaid blades like some sort of bizarre dagger. A little twist of his wrist, though, and three of the blades slid along a groove in the ring to lock into position, leaving him with one large fuuma shuriken to show off.

Yuffie watched with interested as Edge sheathed his blade. It was similar to her own and she instantly wanted it. "It's impressive." Her head tilted to the side while her palm rested confidently on her hip.

"But do you know how to use it?"

Edge straightened up, all affronted dignity. "Do I -- I'm the most amazing ninja you'll ever have the honor of meeting! I've wielded the tools of ninjutsu since I was old enough to walk!"

"Yeah? So what? I've been throwing stars since before I could walk." It was a total lie but not too far from the truth. Yuffie's always been rather feisty.

She placed her other palm on her hip and grinned at him. "And there is no way that you can be the most amazing ninja I'll ever meet because I've met myself. Behold! I am the champion of the earth and sky! I am the conqueror of evil! The single white rose of Wutai!! There is no one better than me."

"I even saved all of Gaia." She paused for dramatic effect. "Twice."

"Ha!" Not diminished in the slightest, Edge threw out one hand in a gesture that WOULD have made his cape snap and billow dramatically... if he had it. "You look upon Edge, King of Eblan and head of the Eblan ninja clan! He who has saved the land, the underground, and the very moon from hatred itself!"

Yuffie scoffed in return, refusing to tear her gaze from his. "So what? I'm the princess of Wutai. The greatest nation in all worlds, placed at the center of Gaia! I have restored Wutai to glory and it's far superior to wherever you're from." She held out a finger and then continued.

"Also. Stuff from space sucks." Said like someone who really didn't follow the whole JENOVA thing.

"So there!"

Yuffie was standing closer now, unwilling to back down despite not know exactly what she was so determined to do. It didn't really matter. It was the principle of the thing. Wutai was the best place in any world.

"So you say, but as King of Eblan I can promise you that MY reconstruction of Eblan has made it the greatest nation in all the world! In fact..." Edge smirked beneath the mask that he'd made of his ninja scarf, courtesy one spider. "Well, I admit I CAN see only one way in which Wutai is superior to Eblan."

She brushed her finger just below her nose as a triumphant smile spread across her mouth. "See it my way huh? I knew you would. After all, I'm the best."

"Hey! I only said one way!" He held up a finger for emphasis. "ONE way in which Wutai has Eblan beat!"

"Okay. Fine. I'll bite." Her head tilted curiously to the side. "What do you this that one way is?"

Of course Yuffie will disagree, Wutai is the best.

"Wutai," Edge said, meeting her eyes, "undoubtedly has the prettiest girls in existence."

Yuffie met his gaze and felt her cheeks flush with heat. "W-what?! Ah- y-yes! Of course." She looked away but the words had been said and it had clearly shaken her.

"Because Wutai has me, of course, I'm known as the white rose of Wutai after all." Yuffie looked up at him as if she had recovered fully from her fumble but there was still that soft pink tint to her cheeks that Edge had coaxed to the surface and it wasn't fading.

"Exactly!" Finally, one of his lines worked! He was starting to think every girl on this train was cynical and skeptical. "I'm glad we're in agreement then!"

"Yeah! Exactly that, plus Ninja's are the best and I'm the best Ninja." She didn't understand Edge and his attitude had firmly knocked her off her game. Yuffie was trying to recover but she was now repeating herself and trying not to blush... and failing.

"So you're a ninja. What do you do here?"

She was so lame.

Ha ha, wow! She was such a cutie! Grinning beneath his mask, he leaned against the wall.

"Be immensely bored. It's terrible."

"Awww." Her shoulders slump at the reminder of her boredom. "I was hoping there was more to do. This game is stupid and I hate trains." Motion sickness sucked.

"Well, with a fellow ninja around, we can all the more easily FIND things to do!" Edge flashed her a thumbs-up, trying to restore that bright spark again. No giving up!

"Right!" It didn't take much to get Yuffie to perk up again. It was easy to ignore feelings if you just didn't think about them. "We are going to find things to do. Any ideas? What does the train need... it needs more awesomeness."

"It has us, how much more can it handle?"

These two were not going to be healthy restraints on each others' egos.

"But what people here don't know or understand is the true art of ninjutsu and the honor and training of ninja warriors!"

"Well," She brushed her finger against her upper lip. "They can't be as awesome as us but we could pass on our awesome knowledge."

Yuffie liked the idea of everyone knowing how awesome she was.

"You sound like you have an idea or is it like, Ninja lessons to all the sad non-ninja's?"

"And we need to share some tricks with each other, too! Or any other excuse I can take to spend more time with you," Edge said with a wink.

Damn him.

Yuffie felt her face flush deepen as their eyes met. Damn him. Damn him. Damn him. "Fine." She stated confidently and in no way embarrassed by his attention. "But don't be shocked if I'm a better Ninja than you. After all, I've been protecting Wutai my whole life."

This was all very new to her. Yuffie wasn't used to having people pay her any attention.

Their loss is his gain! "As have I for Eblan. So I very much look forward to the challenge!"

"Good." She turned back to the game and sighed. "Well, later. I'm going to go steal a snack. This car is boring." She also needed a moment to mentally recount everything that had just happened.
