Train Library!
Since Peter has failed at his duty of librarian, Ignis has very graciously taken on this duty. Ash and Feanor have built shelves at the front of the standard carriage where a portion of chairs went mysteriously missing (i.e. Tony destroyed them). Anyway, so Ignis is keeping track of what books are available to borrow, who they originally belong to, and who currently has them.

[Please reply below with the name and description of any book your character is willing to loan to the library. Anyone who wants to use a book from this list may do so and it's simply handwaved that they're borrowing it.
If for any reason, your character is being a dick and purposefully not returning a book, give me or Ignis' mun a heads up. (But limit this please).]

Book Title: Rust
Book Description: A hard hitting novel about two robots who once belonged to an explorer. They travelled the stars on adventures that are told through flashbacks. Now the explorer is old and sick and the robots like in storage with the rest of his belongings.
It is clearly written to lobby for robot rights and the point is hammerered quite heavily at times. It asks questions about sentience and what makes a person. The robots aren't A.I but they seem to have a level of awareness and ability to make connections with each other and the people they come across.
Book Title: HaZeL
Book Description: When captain Bosni's ship goes down in a battle against an alien enemy she survives but is in a critical condition. As part of the attempts to save her, her consciousness is transfered into a technological realm where she meets HZL89 a young clone who's mind us being used to help Bosni come to terms with what has happened and asist her recovery.
At it's heart HaZeL is a story about generational friendship. Bosni has lived a long and exciting life and seen the universe. HZL89 has never been outside the hospital where she works as a companion to counter loneliness and provide friendship to patients.
Their stories are interweved through the novel and it is at times very sad as Bosni comes to term with the loss of many of her crew. The ending is bittersweet as Bosni recovers enough to be woken up, the two say their goodbyes and are both strengthened by their time together.
Book Title: No Stone Unturned
Book Description: A fantasy novel about a farmer whose son is snatched by monsters. He goes on a journey to find him and bring him home.
Essentially it is a martial arts/swordart novel full of brutal fights as the man fights his way through a land of monsters and war. It is an easy read despite the many fight scenes and the main themes are doing whatever it takes, no matter how terrible, to keep those you love safe. The child is rescued and the novel ends with them returning home- though it reflects at the end that the home they long for- that of safety and innocence- is no more after everything they have been through and done.

Book Title: Diary of a Voidtrecker
Book Description: A travel journal. It is typed but uses a font designed to make it look old fashioned, as if it were a diary from years long past.
It is written by a wealthy young woman who has set out on a journey to travel through the worlds. She has a great interest in botany. It is clear pretty quickly that though this woman is indeed trecking through the void she is not doing so on the Voidtrecker Express. Instead she seems to be on some kind of tourist cruise train. Expansive ballrooms, fine dining, her own personal carriage.
There are many notes on various worlds, all different and strange. If Lightning reads through it she will find a whole five chapters on Ciyesia and the healing flowers. The Weary Wanderer is mentioned but there is no mention of Albany or the children, indeed the proprietor of the inn is called Mehdi and is a grizzled farmer who grumbles good naturedly but is happy to share his knowledge of the mountain with the author.
There are other worlds and places mentioned, most of her stories are about flowers and plants and biology. It is a fascinating read if that is what you are interested in.
Book Title: When the Voidtrecker Came to Town (graphic novel)
Book Description: It tells the story of Kierce, a teenager who lives with his little sister (Ama) and his dad in a city. The city is pretty vaguely described, but has a reasonable technology level and the characters depicted in the pages span a large range of races and species.
The novel starts one early morning, Keirce and Ama bickering over breakfast, their dad telling them to knock it off and then them all leaving to work and school. Kierce walks Ama to school before getting on a flying transporter shuttle to his own school.
He is in maths class when the lesson is interrupted. A woman in a purple hoodie bursts into the room and announces that they have to evacuate. The teacher is not too cooperative but she insists, claiming that if they do not leave they will die. Kierce and his friend Siana get up and announce that they are going to do what she says. The class follows.
They rush out of the building not a moment too late as just as they clear the grounds a huge craft crashes into the school, exploding.
An alien, aggressive force has invaded. The novel follows Kierce and Siana as they try and make their way to the school their younger siblings are at. At the through the story you see voidtreckers. A team of orange hoodie wearing people trying to clear a bridge of a crashed transporter, desperately trying to save the people inside. Red wearing people fighting huge robotic creatures.
They arrive at the school to find it already destroyed. Most of the children are outside already but Ama is no where to be found. Just as it seems all is lost a blue hoodie-wearing man stumbles out of the wreckage, Ama in his arms. The siblings are reunited, the aliens defeated and they follow the void treckers out of the city where an emergency camp is being constructed. It ends with them reuniting with their father and learning that though unfortunately not everyone made it out alive it was doubtful anyone would have survived if it wasn't for the voidtreckers, the attack wasn't by a known enemy, it had come out of the blue.
It has a post script.
When the Voidtrecker comes to town is not a true story, but is based on the events of many true moments. The Voidtreckers are there to help you, if you see one know your world is in danger. Just like Kierce and Ama and their friends you must listen and do what they say. They are there to help. Hopefully the Voidtreckers will never need to come to your town, but if they do. Be ready, be smart and know they will do their best to save you all.
Wow. He just came out here to have a good time, and honestly he's feeling so attacked right now

Book Title: Our Void Adventure!
Book Description: A book called "Our Void Adventure!". It is a picture book about a little girl whose family are going on holiday to a different world!
Emi is very excited, today she is going on holiday! But no normal holiday to a museum or a beach. No Emi and her mum and her dad and her little brother Noel are going to a whole different world!
Emi is very excited but a little bit scared! Come and join Emi on her grand adventure!
It's a bit vague on the details, there is mention that they have been planning this trip for a very long time and that she had to go to special lessons on the weekend for the last month. They arrive at a big shiny building and are met by a woman with a badge that shimmers like the void.
This is the bit Emi is scared of but her mum tells her that it will be fine and they will be on the platform soon! Emi holds her mums hand very tightly as her dad carries Noel. They arrive in a big comfy room and she sits with Noel while her parents fill out some forms. It's sort of boring and Emi is sleepy even though she had been too excited to sleep the night before! She finds herself falling asleep.
She wakes up in her dads arms, on a platform! It's all foggy and there's a train! Void Adventures!
They travel to a world with lots of interesting creatures, Emi makes friends and has a whole load of adventures throughout the book. Soon it is time to go home! They arrive at a platform and they leave the train, Emi waves goodbye to the train staff as her and her family step back through the barriers.
The end!
Book Title: Though the Stars Still Shine
Book Description: It is a young adult action adventure book and follows two teenage girls from the colony of Zi'pa'lo. Not much about the culture or peoples is explained--much like an real world YA novel set in its own country of origin wouldn't bother explaining cultural norms. Indeed it might take Peter a few chapters to realise the two girls are a scaled alien species.
The action starts early, they get captured by raiders and taken off world. They fight through a whole galaxy to find each other and find their way home again. The action comes thick and fast with many fighter craft battles, the love story weaved in around the action. Both girls learn their own strengths and once they find each other they learn how to support each other and work together to get home. It has a happy, triumphant ending.
Book Title: In case this is the end...
Book Description: An often funny yet heart wrenching story about two young soldiers, Kal and Martha who are stationed at different frontiers in an intergalactic war. It is told through transmissions between them, reading like letters. Through their letters they tell a story of a brutal war, their fears for the future and their hope that one day they will live together in peace.
All the action is told through them so it is not always easy to understand the bigger picture, but that seems to be the point, the story is focused on their experiences and so there is little context about the war or the world.
It ends with a final letter chain between them on the eve before a huge battle of all frontiers. The ending is ambiguous and downbeat.
Book Title: Secret Diary of an unfortunate spy
Book Description: This novel is set in a world similar to modern day earth, though some of the technology and gadgets are more advanced. It follows Noe, a young spy in spy school. Except he is perhaps the worst spy ever, not because he's not competent or hard working but because of his rotten luck and terrible clumsiness.
It is told mostly in diary form, the book is full of clues and puzzles to solve. Parts of the diary are written in code, clues for cracking it are scattered through the diary.
The worst in his class he is disappointed when he is given the most boring spy assignment for his summer project, keeping an eye on an old woman's wandering cat. However all is not as it seems and soon he is in a tangled web of conspiracy. Can the clumsy hero save the day?
Of course he can.

Alaia, Jaylah and Noe are triplets, they are sixteen and finally old enough to enter the trials. They enter and are determined to get a place on the arc, whatever it takes.
Our place in the sky is brutal and violent in places, but the main theme is family and leaving no one behind.
Book Title: In this house you may scream
Book Description: (cw: horror, existential nonsense, trapped conciousness) In a far future world it has been discovered how to transfer peoples consciousness'. To take a persons essence, their mind and senses and place them in something else. Though there were ways it was used for good, transferring consciousness into artificial bodies after traumatic accidents for example it was also used most often as punishment for the most heinous crimes. The process was called 'pebbling', the idea of trapping a soul in a pebble.
Wilder was a prisoner of war in a far off country, pebbled over a hundred years ago and now his soul released back to his side in an artificial body. Kali was pebbled twenty years ago for a robbery gone wrong, now released into her body brought out of suspended animation. Kason was pebbled six years ago for a crime he did not commit.
Once released they are sent to live with a woman whose job it is to rehabilitate criminals back into the world.
The horror in the story all comes from the past and the concept of pebbling. The actual story is one of recovery, redemption and friendship as three very different people learn how to live in a world they have not been part of for a long while and come to terms with their past.
Not one to read at night!

Book Title: Scalewood
Book Description: The Gvua are a race of small lizard like humonoids who live a peaceful existence. Siku is bug farmer who lives on the outskirts one of the towns. Book Title: My thrilling career as a Void Trecker. The Best Seller By Art Divino.
Book Description: This is half a memoir and half a how to novel about voidtrecking, meeting new cultures and being a hero.
Except it will be clear to anyone who has spent any time in the void, and especially to those who have done missions in the past, that Art Divino has never been a voidtrecker. Has no idea of the void of how the void works and their idea of alien cultures and peoples are strange at best.
However one thing is clear and that is that Art Divino believes their own hype.

BookMagazine Title: Build Your Own VoidCraft: Issue OneBookMagazine Description: This is a model/hobby magazine and indeed comes with parts to start making a voidcraft. From the picture it is a train, a steamtrain even though the picture on the front has the train in a dark green. The starter kit comes with a selection of different glue for different materials and the start pieces to make the engine. The material is not quite metal, it's a bit more flexible than that. This weeks part is mostly figuring out what connects to where and gluing the pieces down. The magazine claims that the train will have moving parts and even a miniature engine by the time they are done.
Magazine Title: Voidcraft Through The Ages: Issue One
Magazine Description: This is a history enthusiasts magazine. It indeed shows the first ever voidcraft, a metal sphere, large enough to fit a few people with stores but very little else in the way of comfort.
It was invented by a pair of sisters from world system #1- the system that discovered the void in the first place though it is sadly bereft of information about that discovery and instead focuses on the sisters lives. Jifti and Byin. They grew up in space colonies, became engineers in the space fleet before falling into the research about the newly discovered void and the potential to visit not just other planets and systems but different multiverses completely.
Their first prototype was simple and was widely considered to have worked- indeed the craft was found in another multiverse- considered a mystery for almost two centuries until it was eventually traced back to system #1. Sadly the sisters didn't survive their maiden voyage, their bodies were buried with honour for their advances to science and void travel was tabled for practically another generation.
Magazine Title: Great Trains of the Void: Issue One
Magazine Description: This one is also a 'feature of the week' magazine and the first issue looks at a Voidcraft called Destiny. They seem to be a species of large mice and their train looks almost like a model train. Yet they are one of the best crisis team in the multiverse. They are pretty good at subtle work but focus mostly on humanitarian aid rather than fighting. They are often the first at the site of a crisis and focus on helping people until the agents of the specific world are ready and prepared to take over.
There's quite a few pictures and examples of their good deeds. Everything from delivering food to colonists on a barren asteroid to maintaining medical supply lines across a mountain range.
MAGAZINE SUBSCRIPTIONS - 2nd Issues
Magazine Title: Build Your Own Voidcraft
Magazine Description: This week's issue focuses on attaching the wheels to the train, it looks like they will be moving parts and it is quite fiddly work. Interestingly the wheels can be made narrower or wider and there is a short article about track gauges and how inter world trains need to be able to travel on different size tracks.
Magazine Title: Voidcraft Through The Ages
Magazine Description: This issue focuses on the first successful void travel by living people, how after many failed and tragic experiments a scientist called Bhifve had discovered the apparatus needed to allow people to travel through the void, to see other worlds and be able to return to their own world alive and of sound mind.
Considering that every single person to attempt void travel had died in the process there were not many enthusiastic volunteers.
So he essentially took a prisoner slated for execution and offered her half his fortune if she undertook the journey.
The rest as they say, is history. Pru was the first void traveller to survive void space.
Magazine Title: Great Trains of the Void
Magazine Description: This one is also a 'feature of the week' magazine and the second issue looks at a Voidcraft called Memory.
This void craft is not filled with fighters or even crisis solvers. Instead it travels the worlds, recording history by speaking to the ordinary people they meet.
It is a small craft, holding only twenty travellers at any time but has been operating for three hundred years and holds what is considered the greatest library of the multiverse in its data bases.
MAGAZINE SUBSCRIPTIONS - 3rd Issues
Magazine Description: Issue three introduces the first of the carriages. It is incredibly detailed, with seats- each that need to be attached separately. The is a simple electric circuit board that runs under the carriage towards the engine and the magazine explains that when the model is done it will have working doors that open and close at a push of a button.
Magazine Title: Voidcraft Through The Ages
Magazine Description: Bhifve was true to his word and gave Pru half his fortune. She was so inspired by her journey that she continued to work with him and helped develop void technology. Her first void journey had not involved her getting out of her void craft but that was something she was interested in developing.
This issue talks a bit about the issues they had with their research. Even though Pru had survived scientists criticised Bhifve for his ethics.
Magazine Title: Great Trains of the Void
Magazine Description: This issue talks about a pair of detectives who research unsolved crimes from other worlds. They travel in a small ship, just big enough for the two of them. They were famous for working with law enforcement in different worlds.
MAGAZINE SUBSCRIPTIONS - 4th Issues
Magazine Title: Great Trains of the Void: Issue Four
Magazine Description: ~ An infamous pirate Voidtrain, which caused havoc by exposing the void to non void active worlds, spreading technology and causing two whole civilisations to destroy their planets with war and bloodshed. Known only for the V emblazoned on its side in red it was the scourge of the void until the- then very newly formed Void Ministry brought it to justice.
Magazine Title: Build Your Own Voidcraft: Issue Four
Magazine Description: This introduces a second carriage, just as intricate as the first. Its connection is difficult as well though there is an interesting segment about materials used to make connecting parts between carriages of void trains - soft enough to allow movement, tough enough to withstand the void.
Magazine Title: Voidcraft through the Ages. Issue Four
Magazine Description: This jumps forward a good while and talks about the start of the void network- that is the first six systems that mostly independently of each other developed void travel.
After initial cultural misunderstandings and a war that was very narrowly averted a consensus to not interfere was established. The six systems kept themselves to themselves for a good fifty years, exploring worlds but avoiding each other.
MAGAZINE SUBSCRIPTIONS - 5th Issues
Magazine Description: During the time of exploration more findings were made - mostly separately - by the six void-active worlds. One of those was the technology developed to bring items into the void without physically loading it onto a voidcraft. This led to the first void platform, where voidcraft could restock without having to physically leave the void.
Magazine Title: Build Your Own Voidcraft: Issue Five
Magazine Description: This introduces a third carriage- this one is a sleeper carriage. It has four bedrooms with sliding doors and bunk beds. It has a piece on how a good night's sleep was very important whilst void travelling and most void craft were fitted with a system that allowed all passengers a period of unconsciousness each night- even if they came from worlds and peoples who did not usually sleep.
Magazine Title: Great Trains of the Void: Issue Five
Magazine Description: Mercy a large void-travelling train-hospital. It travelled to conflict zones to bring medical care to those that needed it. Up to five hundred medical staff travelled on Mercy at one time, taking much needed medical equipment and staff to many worlds that needed it the most.
There is a note at the end of the issue explaining that this is the final issue of Great Trains of the Void.

Book Title: Laws of the Void
Book Description: Is a fiction book, about cut throat mercenaries who use the void as a smuggling channel. It is a thrilling novel and it is clear some research into void travel went into it- the descriptions of the void are pretty accurate at least.
The smugglers use small one person craft and move quickly from world to world, undercutting markets and moving goods. They are loosely organised though it is unclear whether smugglers such as this are real or a made up concept for the book.
Book Title: Creatures of the Void
Book Description: Is a 'myths and legends' types book. It states that there is no scientific proof of anything living in the void. But despite that as long as void travel has existed travellers have reported seeing things in the colours.
There are many many stories about spirits or ghosts, void treckers unable to get home, wandering lost. Some say that it is their cries that make the music.
Others claim the music is made from a form of void whale.
There are many monsters imagined. The most common being large void worms that eat ships whole. There are stories of void craft going missing.
There are many theories on the music. From shifting void particles to angel choirs and everything in between.
Nothing is known though. According to the science the void is devoid of life but it is, according to the book, fun to theorise.
Book Title: Voidspace: What you need to know
Book Description: This is a simple book, written by 'The Ministry of Voidtravel'.
It is a short pamphlet book and is quite dry. It is written for void active worlds and explains that to travel through void space you need to be registered with a Void Travel Company or be part of a Void Mission, you must undertake void training and have a full health screening. Tourists need specific insurance for void travel (there is a whole chapter on insurance forms, 45a for short journeys, 76b if planning to visit more than two worlds, 82x if going to a non void active world).
Most of the book is given over to explaining how to apply for different visas and travel permits. It does mention that those on Void Missions are automatically entitled to a full Void pass.
Magazine Title: Merry Little Voidtrain, Issue One
Magazine Description: Is an activity magazine based on Merry Little Voidtrain. It has a short comic style adventure featuring the Train and Kheli. It has puzzles and colouring sheets and a suggestion for a craft to make your very own Kheli mask!
Book Title: Book Not Found
Book Description: Is actually a history book about a planet called GHI, about an anti educational tyrant who set a void active world back about seven thousand years. It is a fascinating read, though very depressing.

Book Title: Voidtrecker: A Photo Essay
Book Description: A photo essay of different worlds and differing shots of the Voidtrecker. Some are close up, some are far away. Some seem to be taken from inside the train to the outside (there are no photos of void). There are no people and no words, but each photograph is obviously carefully taken and the book tells a story of a journey, if in a strange medium.
Book Title: Help! I've Been Eaten by a Void Train, and Other Horror Stories
Book Description: The first story is about a man who is, as the title suggests, eaten by a sentient void train that goes around worlds eating people.
However the train seems to be made of void? It's weird. Anyways what follows is a psychological thriller that is both wacky and wonderful and terrifying. Sometimes purposefully so and sometimes entirely by accident.
There are three other stories in the book, all equally as weird horror stories. One about planets that are gods, waging and losing worlds in games of chess. Another about gelatinous blob monsters that subsume people and take on their character traits. The final story is about a city surrounded by thorns, where the citizens must vote out its least productive workers each month to be sacrificed to elder gods.
Despite the horror themes the stories are lightly written and are almost spoofs. Or maybe not. It is hard to tell.
Book Title: Filling a Void
Book Description: Is a collection of recruitment posters. Both for the Void Ministry and for various void mission services (it is notable that there is not one for Voidtrecker Express).
They are different in tone and content. Some are 'your world needs you' type and some focus on the skills that an individual can gain.
Void mission recruitment speaks about seeing new worlds, helping people and disaster relief. Some paint it as a big, worthwhile life experience. Others are more blunt and speak about hard work and discipline.
A vast array of people are shown, many different alien species. Sometimes there are no pictures, other times no words. Each have dates and seem to be in chronological order, though it is hard to tell as the dates seem to be the date on their origin world and bare no resemblance to each other.
*Book Title: Empire of Stars: Champion
Book Description: V765 grew up in the empire and is content to be a soldier like her parents. The problem with having famous parents however is that a lot is expected. Fresh out of military college is sent to Planet #98789878987, a notorious planet known for its lawlessness and disdain of the empire's reach.
Can she be the champion of her empire? Can she live up to the expectations of her family? Far from home, surrounded by enemies, can she stay true to her upbringing and bring peace to the multiverse?
*Book Title: Empire of Stars: Resistance
Book Description: Xoe grew up a rebel. Living literally underground on planet #98789878987 her family fight the Empire of Stars who enslave their planet. Xoe is a fighter, tough like all her people. She doesn't back down and she's not afraid of anything.
But a solo mission to scout out an empire fleet is the biggest thing she has ever done. Can she keep her nerve?
The book ends when Xoe and V765 crash into the wilderness after a battle goes wrong.
*Book Title: Empire of Stars: Honour Lost
Book Description: Xoe believes those of the empire to be ruthless and evil and no one is as surprised as she is when her life is saved by a soldier of the empire.
Together they begin a journey to find civilisation once more and both learn that perhaps, what they think they know is completely wrong.
However it takes more than the love of two people to heal a rift of centuries and the two young, idealistic pilots find themselves condemned by their people when they finally are found.
Xoe goes back to her people, encouraged to forget about the pilot. An enemy is an enemy, no matter how much kindness they show you. She returns to her work and tries to put the journey through the wilderness out of her mind. Yet she can not put V765 out of her mind.
V765 is cast out of the empire. Soldiers of the empire do not save rebels. The empire of stars does not show weakness.
But there is no place for a disgraced soldier in a universe where the empire's reach is wide and she lives on the edges of society, taking any work that comes her way.
*Book Title: Empire of Stars: Hope Restored
Book Description: A job comes to V765 that returns her to planet #98789878987. Though she knows she should not she seeks Xoe out.
Disguised as a rebel she joins the resistance, but all the time her and Xoe work to convince them that perhaps the empire should be listened to after all.
Xoe's closest friends begin to take heed and for the first time there is a glimmer of hope.
*Book Title: Empire of Stars: Closing a Door
Book Description: Sometimes it is the youth that must lead the way and after many Dramatic Conversations Xoe and her small band decide to follow V765 and join the Empire of Stars, even if it means leaving their people behind.
If the other books felt like the author was definitely of the Empire of Stars, this book confirms it. Xoe, V765 and the rebels decide that the way of the Empire is right and just and join, fighting against against the rebels in an epic battle that at least takes into account the utter heartbreak of fighting your own people for the greater good.
The series ends with Xoe joining the empire's military college, a bright future ahead of her. She bids farewell to V765 - still exiled because traitors don't get to be citizens even if they help destroy a rebel base, but loosely connected to the military as a gun for hire, and V765 promises that she will see her again when Xoe is a soldier for real.
It is perhaps meant to be a happy ending?
*The Empire of Stars books have a warning taped up next to them: "These were written by a member of the Empire itself. We've previously had to fight them off from taking over a world by force.
Reader discretion is advisedRead at your own discretion."Comic Title: Across the Stars
Comic Description: Sometimes a family is a young man, his robot dog and his void craft. The adventures of Pip, a scavenger who lives by finding scrap metal in space and delivering it to different universes. It's not smuggling it is... Alright it's smuggling but it's a life.
The void craft in the comic is indeed sentient- in a low level. It lights up blue when it is happy, it can sense danger before Pip does and sounds alarms to warn him and Pip talks to it like it can hear him.
But Pip also talks to the robot dog. Pip is an engaging character, friendly and kind and though his 'job' is smuggling, he often gets sidelined into helping people and doing favours for the various people he meets on his adventures.
As it is a drawn medium Nita will notice he is wearing something that looks similar to a SCA on his wrist in panels where his arms are bare.

Book Title: Long Past Dawn
Book Description: The story of two young men both of whom dream of being warriors. Samithinos is the heir of a kingdom, sheltered from birth. Expected to rule after his mother, politics is meant to be his battleground, and yet it is so boring.
Nim is a farm boy with no education, no training and the ability to trip up over thin air. A life of toil and graft lies before him, yet he dreams for more.
Both sneak their way into the army, fall in love and be really super dramatic about everything. It's not a great book honestly, but trashy teen fiction has its place in libraries.

Book Title: How Does It Work? The Locomotive
Book Description: Is as she guessed a children's picture book about how steam trains work.*
*Nita puts a note on this one, reaffirming that it is NOT about Voidcraft, let alone the Voidtrecker Express
Book Title: Be Safe! Safety Control Apparatus.
Book Description: This seems to be a simple pamphlet aimed at tourists. It explains that all Void travellers will have a safety device, most often called Safety Control Apparatus.
It explains that the main purpose is to act as a 'tether' to the void craft and to allow people to survive in places where they would otherwise struggle. It explains that most of SCA's, even those on tourist craft will have an evacuation function.
It goes on to explain about how different worlds have different air and chemical components in the air and the SCA allows survival in not idea atmospheres. They also give some protection against pressure, extreme heat and cold. However there is a warning that such things are still harmful and void explorers should always maintain common sense and be careful.
There are other uses of the SCA depending on what void company is travelled with. Including maps and communications.

Book Title: How It Works: Void Engines
Book Description: This is again for children and is very basic. But it explains that a void engine can phase through a world into the void (which is explained as the space between worlds, out of time and space).
It speaks how a voidcraft is 'solid and yet not' which allows them move through realities. It reassures the reader that nowadays Void travel is safe but young people shouldn't do it for long periods of time without rest.

Book Title: Bhifve: A Biography
Book Description:
~ Bhifve was born on what would become known as System #3. One of the first six void-active worlds.
~ His world knew about the void but no attempts of entering it had been successful.
~ He was the son of two scientists and grew up in a wealthy learning-rich environment.
~ This led to him becoming a scientist himself.
~ When he was seventeen his mother thought she had succeeded in voidtravel. She set off on a journey and though her ship left into the void, her body remained on her world.
~ The loss of his mother hit Bhifve hard and he threw himself into his work. He quickly became known as a mad scientist.
~ It was his life's work and he perused it with very dubious ethics. He often was quoted saying that if he did not achieve void travel then his mother had died in vain.
~ He was 56 years old when he figured he had cracked it. He could find no one to willingly travel in his experimental craft and this led to him bribing a corrupt official to give him a prisoner who was slated for execution.
~ His initial meeting with Pru was a disaster and she told him that if he forced her into the void she would do everything within her power to ruin his experiment.
~ He offered her half his fortune if she survived and a full pardon for her crimes. She agreed and the rest, as they say, is history.
~ His relationship with Pru improved when she returned successful and they worked together for many years.
~ Despite all his work he only voidtravelled himself once- he was one hundred and three years old and bed bound. Pru took him into the void and to her favourite world- one with crystal cliffs that sung with the wind. He died under a rich golden sky and Pru returned back to system #3 to bury him.
Book Title: Leaving the Void Active Worlds
Book Description: This is a travel guide, it contains information about travelling to non void-active worlds and is mostly filled with tips about blending in and not mentioning void travel.
It has some suggestions of ways to learn about different cultures, without revealing you are from another world and some other tips and hints about cross world manners and etiquette.
There is also some information on the breach of void secrecy reporting procedure. This mostly seems to involve a lot of paperwork.
Book Title: Worst Void Criminals
Book Description: This is a very sensationalist 'true' crime book about the worst five criminals in void history. It is sparse on actual facts but rich in gore and detail.
The Captain of the Voidtrain known only as V
Leader of the scourge of the void. So little is known of this captain. Who they were, where they came from or even if they were the same person for the entirety of the voidtrain's reign of terror.
Tar
A serial killer who left a trail of blood across a series of non void-active worlds before she was finally brought to justice.
J, J & H
The three criminals behind the annihilation of system #901. Con artists who used the void to pull off 'perfect' heists and inadvertently set off a chain of events that led to the destruction of a fifty-planet strong system and the loss of countless lives.
Queen Nvurtsfa of Ghri
A warrior queen who ruled her entire world with an iron fist. When void travel was discovered she sent her armies out into the void and subjugated three hundred worlds before she was finally stopped.
Joi Nurl
A seemingly normal office worker from system #34253 who moved illegal money and was heavily involved behind the scenes of an inter world drug trade. He was responsible for introducing the addictive drug 'Roze' to many worlds. Roze's main problem was though it was a addictive but mostly relaxing drug for those of system #34253 it could cause many medical complications in other worlds.
Book Title: Where It All Began: Voidcraft
Book Description: This is a children's information book about the first void travel. It does feature a short piece on Jifti and Byin and their doomed voyage but the bulk of it focuses on Bhifve and Pru.
It glosses over a lot of the facts of Bhifve's life and work and indeed many of the parts of Pru's. It does mention that she was in jail and they made a deal that she would work for him.
It has a picture of the two of them - they were blue-skinned humanoids - and a basic sketch of the void-craft.

Character's Name: Ash
Book Title: Principles of Aether, Magic, and Magitek
Book Description:
A hefty leather-bound book that seems to be hand bound lovingly. It is a lovely burgundy leather with darker ombre near the corners, which are clasped in a gold-looking metal. The cover is pressed with elaborate designs, most notably a meteor in the middle with a suggestions of magic surrounding it. There also seems to be the suggestion of circuitry along the other edges of the cover, straight lines in parallel with one another. The title of the book is not on the front, but there is the title in Hingan on the spine of the book, delicately painted. The paint looks fresh, as if it were a touch up for a well used book.
Opening the book gives the title page, just as elaborate as the front, but done in full color in a water color style. The entire page is filled with color with accents of gold and silver, truly giving lend to the nature of magic (or, however the person who designed this sees it). The acknowledgements seem to be in an ancient not-quite-Japanese type script thanking someone named Aragibal Kha, Felih Tia, Cid Garlond, and a Cocobuki. The rest of the script is Eorzean (a very stylized English), written in small, very neat cursive. The book is quite dense as it explains aether and magic and how to tie them into magitek. It will go over advanced topics including how aether can be stored, how it can be used in a magitek sense, and some creative applications of it. It then goes into advanced nitty gritty on integrating aether into magitek.
As you go through the book there are additional notes in the margin in a messy scribble of someone else's hand, adding counterpoints or extra observations for "those without aether sensitivity" (Eorzeans read: Garleans).
At the back of the book is a section blank pages, as if bound extra for some notes space, and there seems to be hasty writing between the two hands about a being called Alexander and the time properties it exhibits. Fresher ink is written about something called The Tycoon. There are theories on how to accommodate time travel based on these two beings, with sketches of devices, related complex geometries, and some extra thoughts in both hands scribbled there.
Ash will comment she gets the sense that this was Monx's personal copy.

Book Title: The Dynasty of Nine
Book Description:
A dying world, nine ships holding humanity's last remnants. Leaving their world behind they set off among the stars to seek out a new home, not knowing if they will even find one, and only hoping there can be a better place.
It jumps around the PoV of the crew and passengers, almost a series of small snapshots into their lives. Not all that much happens in the way of overarching plot but the stories stand alone quite nicely.
