Welcome to our Test Drive Meme! Here is the place to see how your character might fit the setting, grab some samples and start having fun!

1. Post with your character. I’ve written out some prompts but feel free to make up your own, you have a whole train to play with!

2. Assume they have been around long enough for threads to jump right into the action!

Knight Quest

Upstairs in the games carriage there is a VR game set. There are enough headsets and controllers for four people to play. One of the games is Knight Quest!

A game that can either be played on single adventure mode or with the other three headsets in a campaign mode. It is a typical fantasy rpg about a young hero who is searching for a magical item to save the world. The story is simple but fun and engaging. The hero has a sword and shield and fighting in this game requires some physical skill, but practice makes perfect!

Games are a good way of gaining skills so team up and save the world, fighting monsters and practising fighting in a safe controlled environment! Just… Don’t bash into each other.

Making your own Fun

The standard coach doesn’t have all that much in it. Just rows of seats, though at the front of the carriage seats have been ripped up and bookshelves installed.

It’s a good place to read or write in their journals. Or annoy other passengers by climbing from one side of the carriage to the other without touching the floor.

Rehabilitation

The train has arrived at a collection of planets. That is good because your task is finding a place for the lindusi (large lizard creatures, recently rescued from a dying planet) to be settled and the more choices the better.

Team One

The first job is predominantly scouting. The scientists in charge of the lindusi relocation project have given the team a list of important features for a planet to have.

It’s like a scavenger hunt but for running water, certain types of plants, prey animals and other features. They have lent the void treckers some basic scientific equipment for testing the environment.

Team Two

Not all of these planets are going to be empty of hostile creatures. The second teams task is to accompany the first team and keep them safe. They have been given shielding devices, easy to use energy shields large enough to fit two people behind. They are handheld and a quick press of a button will activate the shield.

There are plenty of predators, from bears to strange flying aliens that want to eat you. Good luck!

Team Three

Once a suitable planet has been found the third team are to get the lindusi there. In shuttle ships. They aren’t too difficult to pilot, which is good because the lindusi relocation program is very short staffed.

Once they are safely landed it is a case of releasing them into the wild, in safe locations away from any immediate danger. The lindusi are still recovering from their trip through space after all.

You followed me. Chasing my coat-tails, even here to this damn train. So, it appears the eternal duel of Angra Mainyu and Apollo will be written across the entire cosmos!

[ That out of the way, however, Hibiki begins to calm down. Processing the information she's just been given, she stows her shield. ] ....I see. Them, hm.

[ Further proof this train operates along similar principles as the Far Shore, when it comes to summoning: just as Fuwari and Falulu hadn't noticed her absence, she too had remained unaware.... ]

[ A smirk. A hand to a hip. It's amazing, how she can suddenly make it look like she meant to end up on top of this seat, the better to lord her more than usual height over Zetta. Such is her magnificence. Such - is Shikyoin Hibiki! ]

Well, it's a paltry opening act, but so be it. Your role has concluded. Disembark at your leisure upon our next stop.

[The depressing thing is that her act made this place feel a little more like home, or home-away-from-home. But Zetta is going to ignore that and refuse to acknowledge it ever.]

Hyaaaha ha ha ha ha! I was here first, which proves I'm the protagonist! You're a supporting character who showed up later, possibly as gratuitous fanservice. Keep playing your role, Hibiki!

I am disinclined to argue screenwriting with props.

[ Hibiki steps off the seat to punctuate that statement, waits for a goat with a cloth to clean off where she'd been standing, takes her seat again, crosses her legs, and picks the script up again.

The goat with a Prinny, however, rolls in a confused circle, unsure whether it should show its prize to Maa-ster or Zetta. Um....where should it maa-neuver this item....? ]

[As if Zetta has time for goats! Or Prinnies! Both are the lowest of the low-tier, even below Hibiki!]

You're not even a beloved cameo from the home series, so don't think you have any right to be the protagonist!

Wait, are you from Phantom Brave? [Zetta glances down at those lowly spybots. Come to think of it, if she was some weirdass Chroma that'd explain a lot.]

The convolutions of your home puniverse matter less than a speck on a beetle digging a burrow in Pargentina.

[ No offense to Pargentina. It's merely far away.

The next goat to roll up next to Zetta has a riot shield equipped. And begins to push. Slowly. ]

I seek solitude. You're dismissed.

[ Though.......Why is this character's name not "Pribalt"?

Hibiki frowns at her script (the Post-it on the cover has started to curl upwards). Is she....Is there to be no respite for her anywhere?! At this rate, her hard-won composure will...! ]

[A rather nonplussed Zetta simply has his minion lateral him to a different minion, while the other one is still being pushed.] Hmph. You don't get solitude on this train. No one does.

[ The goat with the shield pivots and now tries to push both maa-nions. Whether this means they are being pushed towards the exit is another matter entirely, but a maa-ttempt to be helpful is being made.

Now definitely cross, Hibiki snorts. She doesn't want to look up (it would break her pose), but....why is Zetta still here....? ]

I am unaccustomed to mingling.

[ It can't possibly be that....upon this train, she won't.....always get.....what she....what she wan....

That's not physically possible. She can't even finish the thought! ]

[Zetta rolls his eyes, which despite a lack of visible ocular structures is nonetheless obvious by the way their shape changes.]

Yeah, which is why you're gonna treat this whole damn thing as some giant performance. It's not mingling if you're just playing the role, right?

The role I perpetually play is "Shikyoin Hibiki".

As such, all scenes must be set appropriately, so I'll have you withdra....

[ ...The spygoat has definitely gotten disoriented and is now attempting to shove all the minions and Zetta into a corner instead of out of the car. Hibiki has been trying to ignore this, but as it makes a maa-rticularly insistent push, she can bear it no longer. She raises her chin to snap over her book, at the piece of surveillance equipment that she personally created: ]

AT LEAST IDENTIFY THE DOOR!

[Zetta doesn't admit to himself that he wonders who she would be if she weren't playing that role.]

[Speaking of which, to preserve his dignity, the book floats up into the air out of pushing height.] You should label it.

I shall make no such concessions to stupidity!

[ Besides, the goats don't read!

And neither can Hibiki, with all this ruckus. She casts her book aside, rises. ] Composure here is fruitless. Languish among your fellow publications to your heart's content!

....well, she'd laugh if she weren't in a foul mood, anyway ]

[Such a devastating insult yet that is Zetta's only response! He doesn't know why he expected more here. Hibiki is Hibiki no matter where she goes, to the point of repetition!]

[ Fear not, Zetta. Hibiki is being reconsidered for passage onboard the train partly for the freedom that would give her player to build on, and develop, RP-original running gags.

That said, she shall forever remain a children's sitcom cartoon character, and begins to stomp her way out of the room. Well, technically she's aiming for a dignified stalk, but what she's getting is a stomp. ]

I'm leaving.
