Test Drive Meme 008
1. Post with your character. I’ve written out some prompts but feel free to make up your own, you have a whole train to play with!
2. Assume they have been around long enough for threads to jump right into the action!
3. Have much fun!
Happy testing!
Knight Quest
Upstairs in the games carriage there is a VR game set. There are enough headsets and controllers for four people to play. One of the games is Knight Quest!
A game that can either be played on single adventure mode or with the other three headsets in a campaign mode. It is a typical fantasy rpg about a young hero who is searching for a magical item to save the world. The story is simple but fun and engaging. The hero has a sword and shield and fighting in this game requires some physical skill, but practice makes perfect!
Games are a good way of gaining skills so team up and save the world, fighting monsters and practising fighting in a safe controlled environment! Just… Don’t bash into each other.
Making your own Fun
The standard coach doesn’t have all that much in it. Just rows of seats, though at the front of the carriage seats have been ripped up and bookshelves installed.
It’s a good place to read or write in their journals. Or annoy other passengers by climbing from one side of the carriage to the other without touching the floor.
Rehabilitation
The train has arrived at a collection of planets. That is good because your task is finding a place for the lindusi (large lizard creatures, recently rescued from a dying planet) to be settled and the more choices the better.
Team One
The first job is predominantly scouting. The scientists in charge of the lindusi relocation project have given the team a list of important features for a planet to have.
It’s like a scavenger hunt but for running water, certain types of plants, prey animals and other features. They have lent the void treckers some basic scientific equipment for testing the environment.
Team Two
Not all of these planets are going to be empty of hostile creatures. The second teams task is to accompany the first team and keep them safe. They have been given shielding devices, easy to use energy shields large enough to fit two people behind. They are handheld and a quick press of a button will activate the shield.
There are plenty of predators, from bears to strange flying aliens that want to eat you. Good luck!
Team Three
Once a suitable planet has been found the third team are to get the lindusi there. In shuttle ships. They aren’t too difficult to pilot, which is good because the lindusi relocation program is very short staffed.
Once they are safely landed it is a case of releasing them into the wild, in safe locations away from any immediate danger. The lindusi are still recovering from their trip through space after all.
February | Original Character
A lack of eyes means that flying a shuttle ship is out of the question for February. Likewise, her limited senses of perception mean that she isn't necessarily the first choice as a scout, either.
Guard duty, though? That's a job she was made for.
She stands confidently and firmly, shield in hand, as she positions her 8 foot tall, solid stone body between her scout and a cluster of nearby bushes.
"I heard something. Stand behind me."
She has no weapon, but she clenches her free hand into a fist, preparing for whatever might come out.
Making Your Own Fun
February actually likes the Standard Car, and the lack of activities it provides are part of the reason - it's usually one of the less hectic cars. Not secluded from the other passengers, but free enough from interruptions that she can find ways to amuse herself in peace.
Usually.
Today, February is sitting at one of the table seats with a tower of jenga blocks in front of her. As delicately as she can, the earth elemental pulls a block from the middle of the stack.
She doesn't reject the company of others, though. Another person to play with would be a welcome addition. Alternatively, some hooligan clambering over the seats would be very unfortunate for her.
Team 2
Ivy's voice contains not even a hint of concern as she floats past February to look ahead. Being a ghost, she's in no particular danger from hostile bears or aliens; unfortunately, there's not much indication of that based on sound alone.
Re: Team 2
Not she actually has any way of stopping someone who can become intangible at any time, mind you, but she feels the need to make the effort.
"I am not sure. Stay behind me. We do not know what the creatures of this place can do."
Of course, as she speaks, the rustling only grows louder. Whatever creature lives in these woods was only drawn closer by the sound of their voices.
"Prepare yourself," she says, activating her shield.
And then it jumps out. Some sort of wolf-like creature with scales and a tail like an alligator's. The force of it's pounce slams into February's shield harder than she expected, but she steadies herself.
Well, at least they know what it is now.

"Are you going to be all right? That looks awful dangerous."
no subject
This thing has an awful lot of sharp teeth - which means that it probably doesn't eat stone statues. That's one thing in her favor, at least.
The beast recovers from slamming into her shield quickly and makes another attack - this time snapping at her exposed ankles beneath the shield, to which February deftly steps backwards in time to avoid. This is not the first time she's seen combat.
And then, without missing a beat, she swiftly brings her foot forward again - slamming her stone foot into the creature's jaw with the force of a sledgehammer. It yelps in pain and then, after a moment of hesitation, rushes back into the woods.
"There." She says, turning to face Ivy once more. "I believe I have deterred it."

She quietly watches February remove a block.
"Is that for more than one person?"
no subject
Gingerly, February sets the block down and turns her head to face the small wolf girl, and contemplates her question for a moment.
"I'm sure more than one person could take turns," she replies. February cannot read, so she definitely hasn't seen that the box says for 2 or more players on it. "Would you like to join me?"
no subject
Whisper wonders how February is even playing; but if she can play, then who's going to complain?
"Until it falls..." Seems to be the point anyways. Better than not being distracted, she hops into the seat across from February.
no subject
As Whisper slides into her seat, February takes a moment to reconstruct the tower, so that they can start from scratch. As she does so, she looks up again at the wold girl - awkwardly attempting something approximating eye contact.
"I am called February. Do you have a name?"
no subject
Still, trying to meet February's gaze is a bit strange, just gazing into that empty space. "Whisper." Her name, and what she's doing. Raising her voice beyond that seems like it'd be a strain on her; even asking a full sentence question might be the most February gets out of her in one statement.
no subject
In the end, she plays it safe and assumes both.
"It is nice to meet you, Whisper."
And, after another moment, the blocks are reset and the game is ready to be played again.
"Would you like to go first?"
no subject
He became a... friend. Perhaps this is a good start, then.
Whisper looks up at the tower. "Sure." Someone has to, and her ears stand up as she focuses, reaching out to gently nudge center blocks until she finds a relatively loose one to start pushing through.
