Test Drive Meme 006

Welcome to our Test Drive Meme! Here is the place to see how your character might fit the setting, grab some samples and start having fun!

1. Post with your character. I’ve written out some prompts but feel free to make up your own, you have a whole train to play with!

2. Assume they have been around long enough for threads to jump right into the action!

3. Have much fun!

Happy testing!

Void Trecking

The thing about being on a train hurtling through void space is there’s not much to see. Outside the window lies an endless void of kaleidoscope colours shifting and swirling. It’s probably best not to stare at it too long. Do so and you might start to imagine order in it. Shapes, places, even figures. But your eyes shift... Back to chaos. Probably best you do something else other than stare out the window. Or convince your fellow passengers that void watching leads to headaches!

Relaxing

The newest carriage to be added to the Voidtrecker Express is a rock garden. In a glass domed carriage, flickering with the light of the void the rock garden is a peaceful and medative space, full of mosaics, a pond, fountains and small stony bridges.

It's also the closest to an outside space you have and so is likely to be used for less than peacful activities. Splash in the rivers, race around the paths. Or try and relax on a bench and read amongst the chaos.

Goblin Town

Goblins riding wolves, everyone's favourite foe. The wolves fly, obviously and the goblins fight with short spears, almost like knights on horseback if the knights were terrifying and demonic looking. They are causing trouble by harassing a small village.

Team One

Fight the goblins. A handful of weapons have been provided but mostly you need to try and outsmart the goblins. They can come from any direction, including up. Try and keep the village safe from their attacks.

Team Two

Protect the villagers, help them barricade their houses. Deal with any goblins that get through team one's defences. Some of the villagers want to help and that's alright, some of the villagers want to help and are still in single digits, that's probably less alright. Keep everyone safe!

Team Three

The thing with sieges is, some things still need to happen. People still need to eat. Babies need fed and looked after. Animals need tended. Try and help with the logistics of everything in the heart of the village, as far away from the fighting as possible.

Pick a team, go wild!

[[ooc: but then he's also a corpse and not a spirit and from a different world so who knows???? lol. idk. your choice!]]

There were plenty of significant sources of energy around the village; all were from the train-goers that had ended up here when it decided to make a pit-stop here. He ignored those energies and focused further out. Usually he only picked up nearby sources or very high levels from afar whenever he wasn't actively searching for someone. Goku he could sense from almost anywhere on the same planet, especially whenever the Saiyan went Super. The spike in energy was almost impossible to miss with that one.

While he was actively searching for an energy level it was a bit different. He could take his time and feel out what he was searching for. He had more control over his ki sensing while he meditated, as well as a few other more mentally focused abilities. Ones he rarely used admittedly.

Since he didn't know what he was looking for exactly today, he tried to take his time sweeping the area from which the goblins kept coming. He wasn't lying when he said most of the goblins just felt like a mass of nothing. Or perhaps more accurately like a mass of random people. Basic people. Basic power levels. It was like sensing everyone in a city; it was all a big pile of energy but very low level and it made it hard to distinguish one person from another unless he was uniquely familiar with that person. General power levels felt the same unless it was someone you knew enough to distinguish them from a crowd, kind of like recognizing one face in mass of faces in a crowd.

Just as Piccolo was about to give up without finding anything of note, a small peak caught his attention. If he hadn't been concentrating he wouldn't have noticed it. Hadn't noticed it in all the time they were here so far. Not surprising considering they had their hands full anyway and it wasn't much to feel. But there it was. Even if it wasn't quite what they were looking for it was a start. More than they had now.

Piccolo's eyes snapped open. "That way," he said as he pointed. "I'm not certain what it is exactly but it's just different enough to warrant looking into."

Oh, and he hadn't forgotten about the Stand business either. He was still interested in that. He glanced back at Dio. "Maybe I'll see what this unique ability of yours is when we find that thing and take it out."

Works for me! Sorry for the delay, power outages.

On the dubious bright side there probably isn't anything here at the planet destroying level, unlike what might be skulking about were super saiyans actually present. Instead there's goblins, a whole lot of normal people, Dio, who isn't anything like normal but does NOT rate against 'planet destroying level' very well, all those train people aaaand..

... And he's pleased to find out there are actually indeed leaders out there; there's a subtle change in the Namekian's bearing when something very obviously catches his attention even in what looked like a meditative state.

Something's out there. Something that can be broken, along with this siege. "That is good news. Loitering about here is growing stale." Besides which, the actual residents of the town have been taking advantage of their defenders' skills and are working on mounting something better to defend themselves than running about and screaming. He approved. With goblin numbers thinned it should be something they and the other train abductees could handle.

There's something suspiciously like a smirk when his Stand's mentioned. "Perhaps." Only Stand users could see Stands, surely! "Please, lead the way." Or perhaps there'll be something to see much sooner, he can't fly, and the only way he'd be able to keep up with someone who CAN fly is using The World to do it. Well, so be it then!
shutupnail: (more grumpy than evil.)

No worries. Me? I'm just slow. Sorry bout those power outages, man.

Piccolo nodded and then turned to leave. But he stopped short, looked back over his shoulder at Dio. He doubted the man could fly. Could he keep up on the ground? It wouldn't put it past someone with special abilities to be honest but he just didn't know if it were true in this case or not.

He set off at a slower pace then, flying off towards the edge of the village. He paused to look back and see if his companion was still within sight.

At least it was scheduled and we were warned.

Unfortunately Dio lacks the ki control to keep up properly by air, even if it's child's play in Piccolo's universe, but he has other ways. Ways that aren't actually flying, to his intense disappointment. The World will simply have to do.

Which means Dio's actually keeping up fairly well when Piccolo pauses to look back, though what he's doing might be a little odd. It's almost as if he'd doubled himself, and is using the now external other him-like force to turn rooftop jumps into something like but not quite flight, easily crossing dozens of meters in a single bounce and at a fairly good clip. Whether or not The World's large golden form can be seen depends on the Namekian's senses, but it's easily felt by the senses he'd used to track down a potential goblin leader.

He's pretty sure Piccolo can go MUCH faster. And he's not going to say a word about it. The embarrassment of being left completely in the dust would be intolerable.

The perplexity on Piccolo's face is evident when looks back and sees what Dio is doing. However, the man is keeping up with Piccolo's flight and that's...really all that matters. So before Dio can overtake him or stop and wonder aloud why the Namekian has stopped, Piccolo resumes his flight in the direction of the goblin leader. Hopefully.

He doesn't speed up since he's not so sure Dio can up his land based speed so much.

After a while they cross some unremarkable land outside the city proper and come upon some mountains. Well, they come close to some mountains and Piccolo stops short before they get too close. He lands on the ground.

"In there," he says. Dio has likely already spotted what Piccolo is referring to. Because just in front of the mountains is something obvious: a lot of goblins and wolves prowling around.
