Mission Three: Race Against Time

On day 4 (OOC: 8th November) the train on everyone’s Safety Control Apparatus will shimmer in multi colours looking almost like the void itself. A moment later a holo-screen will pop up with the following information.

Destination: World #16125. A dying planet that has been under an evacuation and monitoring order for the last eighty nine years. It is still inhabited, mostly by the scientists that monitor it but also by some hardy communities who refused the evacuation order.

There has been increasing danger from solar flares, asteroids and seismic activity. The last few months things have gotten more volatile and a few weeks ago it was predicted that the world wouldn't last out the solar year. Plans were started for the final evacuation. However events have escalated quickly the last few days and scientists now fear that a world-ending event is imminent. They are understaffed and struggling to evacuate in time. They made an emergency broadcast asking for help, the Voidtrecker Express will heed it.

Orange Team

One of the reasons scientists are still active on world #16125 are the various lindusi species. This is the only planet where these species have evolved. The scientists want to rescue as many as possible and plans are being made to find planets in nearby systems where they can be re-homed safely. Help the scientists track and collect as many lindusi as possible.

Purple Team

There are a series of small communities living on world #16125. Some are scientific communities but others are the descendants of those who refused to evacuate eighty nine years ago. Help evacuate the villages and rescue any animals that you can.

Red Team

The whole planet is constantly under threat from space debris. This is only getting worse as the planet is destabilising. They will need destroyed and redirected and it there shall be equipment for you to achieve that means. Your job will be to protect the evacuation and make sure none of the ships leaving the planet are struck.

Blue Team

As well as the lindusi there are a number of plants unique to this world. A team of scientists are trying to rescue as many animals and plants as possible. However it is a dangerous job, not just from space debris, extreme heat and volcanic eruptions. The animals themselves can be very dangerous. Protect the scientists and the orange team on the ground.

Additional Notes

The Voidtrecker Express will be arriving on a nearby space station in a couple of hours where you will be further briefed. The planet is too unstable for us to land on directly but you shall be taken by conventional transport.

The mission will run from 8th-22nd November. I will put up a OOC information post with extra world information and team-relevant information on the 8th as well as the IC starter post.

The initial starter will focus on arriving and learning their tasks. You are free to start posts on themiddleofsomewhere throughout the event. I will put a general 'catch all' post for the ongoing event up on the 10th November. This event will also have a optional additional mission towards the end, it will be sign up (both out of character and volunteer in character) and more information will come about that on the 8th!

Also as I am aware November is busy for many people, there will be an option for characters to stay on the space station for the duration. This will be mostly a handwaved option (though they are free to tag amongst themselves) but for those who do not wish to go on full hiatus but do not feel up for a mission the choice is there. More information about what those characters would be up to will also be on the main mission information post on the 8th November.

Please feel free to use this as a plotting post. Remember there is nothing forcing your character to do the task assigned to their group so if you wish to do a different one, feel free! If character decide to not do any of the tasks at all that’s fine too, just let me know! Please reply under the colour you decide to go with once you decide for definite!

While on the surface of the planet will Fëanor be able to pick up some rocks that interest him?
He's looking for (in order of importance ;)) quartz, obsidian, and kimberlite. They're all volcanic by the way.

That said, she'll need a spacesuit of some sort, but beyond that, she's gonna be looking at an old-fashioned space-rock beatdown, Superman style.

Okay, so Tony's recruited Renee and Luke for the red team. He's asked Maedhros and Maglor to go to the blue team (since Maedhros and fire are a terrible mix). He's also going to 'encourage' Buttercup to go blue too- mainly because he's unsure this will be too dangerous for her.

Also, I have some 'all train' ideas that I'm going to be in the 'other plotting' so maybe others will notice it better.

Telli will be helping, and will try to keep the charade of actually needing her cane for as long as possible.

For gathering the lindusi, she can use the Force to track their presence and can gather them from their hiding places. She's not going to be advertising her Force abilities, but can and will use them if needed.

Charlotte's up for lindusi-wranglin', she's got species bonuses to stealth. Also, spatial nonsense as per usual for this gal.

Depending on the size of the lindusi he might need some rescues (He hates being short). I'm thinking he might end up helping the scientists with any science type tracking they have.

ORANGE

Eva will very much be taking part - and she'll be wanting to co-ordinate Orange Team as best as possible so they can get as much done with what they have to work with.

That said, Princess knows the move Sing, and Eva will have no problem directing her pokemon to use it to put the lindusi into a sleep that will last at least an hour.

So it says Blue team are to protect Orange team and the scientists so Romeo will see sticking with Elfnein on orange (provided she chooses to do this bit of the mission) part of his job! So you will have a tiny bodyguard who will try his best to catch lindusi!

Curufin will definitely be part of this mission. He wouldn't miss a chance to go down to some disintegrating planet and dare the volcanoes and falling asteroids and earthquakes to get the lindusi away safely. FUN, FUN, FUN!

Raven

So, just to get this out of the way first--Raven can teleport, and has teleported not just herself before, but at least one or two other people besides herself.

She also can fly/levitate, and levitate-move people via her dark-energy if needed. (i.e. by making a giant flat circle for people to stand on and she moves it.)

If wanted, she could basically get herself where needed to support others and/or help with communication or quick protection.

BLUE

More Tony plotting!

So as soon as they get the notification the mission will happen, Tony has some things he wants to set up.

Weapons After the last mission, everyone should have a knife or sword of some kind. If not, they're getting ones from the kitchen. Also, for those who are young or named May Parker, you're getting a taser gun that Tony made. There's a ripcord device that is triggered and generates the charge and thanks to some magic from the elves (Feanor, I believe I talked to) it should be enough to have a grown man on the floor twitching.

First Aid Tony's going to try and get everyone on the train to watch a couple field first aid courses either from the ICP or done by Ignis and maybe May or whoever might be skilled here, with a focus on burn injuries.

Food and Potions He's also going to get those who are into cooking to brew healing potions like he was taught and bake rations- the less supplies they have to drain from the natives the better.

Other supplies Everyone should bring their rucksacks and he'll have some bandages, the rations, some kind of water bottle (Idk if this is possible to find or make, but he'll try), some paper with a pencil and pen, and anything else they may need.

Partnering up After Eva disappeared mid-jump last time, Tony wants everyone to pick someone before they leave the train to keep and extra eye out for on their team. (I.e. Buddy system)
